    Hi, I want to match against Strings such as AhKs & AdKs (i.e. two cards Ah = Ace of Hearts). I want to match two off-suit cards with a regex, what I currently have is "^[AKQJT2-9][hscd]{2}$", but this could match hands such as AhKh (suited) and AhAh. Is there a way to possibly use backreferences to say the second [hscd] cannot be the same as the firs (similarly for [AKQJT2-9])

    I have some text laid out using Core Text in my iPhone app. I'm using NSAttributedString to set certain styles within the text for given ranges. I can't seem to find an attribute for setting a background / highlight colour, though it would seem it is possible. I couldn't find an attribute name constant that sounded relevant and the documentation only lists: kCTCharacterShapeAttributeName kCTFontAttributeName kCTKernAttributeName kCTLigatureAttributeName kCTForegroundColorAttributeName kCTForegroundColorFromContextAttributeName kCTParagraphStyleAttributeName kCTStrokeWidthAttributeName kCTStrokeColorAttributeName kCTSuperscriptAttributeName kCTUnderlineColorAttributeName kCTUnderlineStyleAttributeName kCTVerticalFormsAttributeName kCTGlyphInfoAttributeName kCTRunDelegateAttributeName Craig Hockenberry, developer of Twitterrific has said publicly on Twitter that he uses Core Text to render the tweets, and Twitterrific has this background / highlight that I'm talking about when you touch a link.     I have a file that is similar to this: <many lines of stuff> SUMMARY: <some lines of stuff> END OF SUMMARY I want to extract just the stuff between SUMMARY and END OF SUMMARY. I suspect I can do this with sed but I am not sure how. I know I can modify the stuff in between with this: sed "/SUMMARY/,/END OF SUMMARY/ s/replace/with/" fileName (But not sure how to just extract that stuff). I am Bash on Solaris.

    I have a phone number I want to match against a regular expression. The format of the phone number must match this: (123) 123-4567 x12345 The extension is optional. Also the extension must contain 1-5 numbers. Below is a regular expression I wrote that works. ^\(\d{3}\) \d{3}-\d{4}( x\d\d?\d?\d?\d?)?$ I was wondering if there is a better way to check for the extension instead of x\d\d?\d?\d?\d? Can I say 1-5 occurrences of \d instead of the above some how ?

  • Outlook Search starting date

    I am having a problem with Outlook 2003 search on 2 desktops - 1 XP, 1 Windows 7. They are both connected to the same exchange 2007 server. There are several other users connected to the same server, inside the lan and outside using RPC none of whom are having this issue. When the user searches Outlook, search starts from the date Outlook OST file was created and then searches more recent items. The result is that if user is searching for some phrase, e.g. "Blade" in their inbox folder, search results from months ago are returned first then the more recent results. If i delete the OST file and restart Outlook it rebuilds a new one, and resynchronizes normally, then search works normally again, however approximately 6 weeks later the problem will start again (see second paragraph). Anyone experience this ? Any Suggestions ?

    If I output a formatted date as follows: DateTime.Parse("2010-06-02T15:26:37.789 +01:00").ToString("HH:mm:sszzz") I get the expected result: 15:26:37+01:00 However, if I parse the same date, convert to UTC and output with the same format as follows: DateTime.Parse("2010-06-02T15:26:37.789 +01:00").ToUniversalTime().ToString("HH:mm:sszzz") I get this: 14:26:37+01:00 Now those two dates, the local and UTC versions, should be exactly the same but the outputted text represents two different times. Why is this?
