    Hi guys, Know this might be rather basic, but I been trying to figure out how to one after create a dynamic array such as double* data = new double[size]; be used as a source of data to be kept in to a binary file such as ofstream fs("data.bin",ios:binary"); fs.write(reinterpret_cast<const char *> (data),size*sizeof(double)); When I finish writing, I attempt to read the file through double* data = new double[size]; ifstream fs("data.bin",ios:binary"); fs.read(reinterpret_cast<char*> (data),size*sizeof(double)); However I seem to encounter a run time error when reading the data. Do you guys have any advice how i should attempt to write a dynamic array using pointers passed from other methods to be stored in binary files?

  • Restlets with Google App Engine, Java Server Pages, (JSP's), and Shiro authentication

    I'm having difficulty integrating Restlets into my project. I'm using google app engine (GAE) and I also have some java server pages (JSPs) set up. The JSP's never seem to work at the same time as the Restlets, should I only be using one or the other in GAE? I'm also using Shiro (formerly Ki, formerly JSecurity) and I have been unable to get Restlets to work with Shiro's filter for authentication. Are there any issues in particular that I should be aware of? What are other people using to secure restlet apps on GAE? Is Shiro overkill if I just need authentication and some role-based authorization? Thanks so much! Chris

    Hi all, to export some data i want to be able to generate an html output. I have some constant content to output, like html headers and footers. My question is how to deal with that ? Do I have to embed some template (in a ressource file) and parse it to make it dynamic ? Do I store my static content in some constant (is there a 255 char limit?) and append them while generating the dynamic content ? Do you have some hints, useful links, or best practices to share?   • multiple login pages in ASP.NET forms authentication

    My bank's website has 2 login pages for online banking. On the first page, I enter my username. If I don't enter a valid username, I get an error message, and do not get to the 2nd page. The 2nd page displays a picture based on my user name, and has me enter my password. If I manually type a URL to a page inside the site after entering my username but before entering my password, I am redirected back to the first login page. Is there a good way to implement this in ASP.NET with Forms Authentication? I only get 1 loginUrl in my web.config. I am fairly certain my bank uses Java.

  • ASP.NET Nested masterpages, how to set content in the top page from the aspx file?

    I have some content from a CMS that I need to move to raw asp.net pages. Since the templates are nested I guess I can use nested masterpages to acomplish it, but I'm finding that I can't set values on the top masterpage from the deep child page. Here is a sample. I have several nested masterpages with contentplaceholders: top master (with contentPlaceHolder1) nested master, dependent on top master (with contentPlaceHolder2) aspx page, dependent on nested master, defines content for contentPlaceHolder1 and 2 The problem is that asp.net doesn't allow me to have the value of contentPlaceHolder1 defined in the content page, it should be defined in the nested master. But the point is that the client page knows that value, not the template masters (for instance, the page knows about the graphic it has to display on the the top, but the placeholder for the graphic is the top master). How can I set values in the aspx page to be rendered in the top master?

  • Storing links to internal content pages in ASP.NET MVC

    I'm using a route like this routes.MapRoute( "PageBySlug", RouteType.Regular, "{slug}", new {controller = "Page", action = "Display", slug = "Default"}, null ); to map request to ~/Some-Page-Slug to ~/Page/Display/Some-Page-Slug. When adding content, user can choose to link to existing pages to create references and I then store those links in this format in the datastore: "/Some-Page-Slug". When I run the app in Cassini and pull the link out from datastore and attach it to A tag it looks like this http://localhost:93229/Some-Page-Slug and this link works. But when running the application in virtual directory under some website in IIS, the attached link generates this URL http://localhost/Some-Page-Slug, when it should be http://localhost/virtualdir/Some-Page-Slug. Of course, this generates 404 error. How can I solve this to be universally useful and working under all circumstances? Should I store it differently in the database or should I transform it into correct form in my Views at runtime and how to do that?

  • How to use Preprocessor directives in MVC aspx pages

    I am using MinifyJS.tt which is a T4 template to minify all my JS files automatically. In my aspx files, I am referencing all the javascript files. Now, I want to add a condition (maybe compiler directive) to use the original JS file when I am debugging the application, and to use the minified JS files when I simply run the application without debug. I tried using #if in the aspx page, but that did not seem to work. Can we make use of preprocessor directives in aspx pages? Is there an alternative way to achieve my goal?

  • VS2008 Complains about css class names it should know about

    I've seen this in a webcast somewhere, but I can't remember where, and all searching terms I'm trying are coming up unhelpful. I've got a stylesheet for my site, and it's referenced in a master page. Child pages that use this master page use these styles, but .Net doesn't know about them. When the site is run, it all works great, but I'm trying to figure out how to get .Net to know about them at design time. This should also fix the issue with not knowing about the javascript files I'm including, too -- I think it's all related and I can't for the life of me figure out how.

    I'm trying to describe endpoints in my App Engine app and am having difficulty for directory structures that mix static and dynamic content. But my yaml rules are conflicting with one another. Before I change my directory structure, does anyone have a recommendation? The goal is to create a directory that contains both documentation (static html files) and implementations. /api - /v1 - getitdone.py - doc.html - index.html What I think I should be doing with my application yaml... - url: /api/v1/getitdone script: api/v1/getitdone.py - url: /api/ static_files: api/index.html upload: api/index.html - url: /api static_dir: api But this causes the dynamic endpoints to fail. I'm assuming the static_dir reference is breaking it. How can I do this without describing every script and static file reference (I have many more than are listed here)?

  • Return a dynamic string from std::exception's `what`

    I'm convinced at this point that I should be creating subclasses of std::exception for all my exception throwing needs. Now I'm looking at how to override the what method. The situation that I'm facing, it would be really handy if the string what returns be dynamic. Some pieces of code parse an XML file for example, and adding a position or line number to the error message is useful to me. What I'd like to know: what returns a const char *, which implies any catcher is likely not going to free the string. So I need some other place to store the result, but where would that be? (I need thread-safety.) what also includes throw() in its signature. While I can prevent my what from throwing anything, it seems to me that this method really isn't intended for anything too dynamic. If what is not the right place, then where should I be doing this instead?

  • .NET - downloading multiple pages from a website with a single DNS query

    I'm using HttpRequest to download several pages from a website (in a loop). Simplifying it looks like this: HttpWebRequest req = (HttpWebRequest)HttpWebRequest.Create( "http://sub.domain.com/something/" + someString ); HttpWebResponse resp = (HttpWebResponse)req.GetResponse(); //do something I'm not quite sure actually but every request seems to resolve the address again (I don't know how to test if I'm right). I would like to boost it a little and resolve the address once and then reuse it for all requests. I can't work out how to force HttpRequest into using it, though. I have tried using Dns.GetHostAddresses, converting the result to a string and passing it as the address to HttpWebRequest.Create. Unfortunately, server returns error 404 then. I managed to google that's probably because the "Host" header of the http query doesn't match what the server expects. Is there a simple way to solve this?

  • cakephp filter index pages according to foreign keys

    Hi there, I'm pretty new to CakePHP and was missing a crucial feature not generated as scaffold: filtering. What do I have to do to provide dropdowns or multi-selects on the index pages for each field that is a (foreign) key, thereby allowing to filter the table ("OR" inside multi-select, "AND" between different multi-selects, if any)? From what my websearch has shown me there are many more people trying to accomplish the same thing, although I couldn't find anything that would work for me because either they have text fields and do wildcard filtering, or the plugins they propose only work for 1.2 whereas i now started with 1.3 etc. etc. Can someone alleviate the confusion and maybe present some working code or direct me to the definitive guide[tm] where this matter has been solved?     Fairly simple issue which is solved in PHP by using a static variable. private static $pages; public function Pages() { if($pages == null) { $pages = new PageCollection(); $pages->findAll(); } } Everywhere in my code I use Pages()::someFindFunction() to make sure the results are fetched only once, and I use that same collection. I want the same in my .NET MVC application: use something like: <%=MySite.Pages.findById(1).Title%> In the code below, if I use a private variable, or if I use a public class with shared variables (doesn't matter) they are both persisted during the entire application. I want them to load the same way PHP does, once per request. Now where do I store the .NET equivalent of private static $pages, so that the code below works? //what to do with $pages?? The java doc says the proxy instance implements "a list of interfaces", says nothing about subclassing, but through debugging, I saw that the proxy instance did inherit the target class properites.What does the "a list of interfaces " mean? Can I exclude those interfaces implemented by target class ? 2.Can I invoke target class specific methods on a proxy instance? 3.     Hey there, I looking for a way to dynamicly add a filter to my statment without using dynamic SQL. I want to select all computers from a table, but when I pass a computer id to the sp, I want to get only this computer. Actually I try this on DECLARE @ComputerFilter AS INT DECLARE @ComputerID AS INT SELECT Computername FROM Computer WHERE (ComputerID = @ComputerID) OR (@ComputerFilter IS NULL)) But this is 100 times slow then this statment and tooks as long as SELECT * FROM Computer SELECT Computername FROM Computer WHERE ComputerID = @ComputerID Is there a way to speed this statment up or is there any other way to solve this problem with one select und without dynamic sql?

    First, I am aware that dynamic languages is a term used mainly by a vendor; I am using it just to have a container word to include languages like Perl (a favorite of mine), Python, Tcl, Ruby, PHP and so on. They are interpreted but I am interested here to refer to languages featuring strong capability to support the programmer efficiency and the support for typical constructs of modern interpreted languages My question is: there are dynamic languages can be compiled efficiently in native executable code - typically for Windows platforms? Which ones? Maybe using some third part ad-hoc tools? I am not talking about huge executables carrying with them a full interpreter or some similar tricks nor some smart module able to include its own dependances or some required modules, but a honest, straight, standard, solid executable code. If not, there is some technical reason inhibiting the availability of such a best-of-both-world feature? Thanks! Daniel

    I want to include certain .js and .css files only on pages that need them. For example, my EditorTemplate DateTime.ascx needs files anytimec.js and anytimec.css. That template is applied whenever I use either the EditorFor or EditorForModel helper methods in a view for a model with a DateTime type value. I've put this condition into the <head> section of my master page. It checks for a DateTime type property in the ModelMetadata. <% if (this.ViewData.ModelMetadata.Properties.Any(p => p.ModelType == typeof(DateTime))) { %> <link href="../../Content/anytimec.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <script src="../../Scripts/anytimec.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <% } %> This has two problems: Fails if I have nested child models of type DateTime Unnecessarily triggered by views without EditorFor or EditorForModel methods (example: DisplayForModel) How can I improve this technique?

    I'm developing a site that will display confidential readonly information, with data fetched from a WCF service. My question: What is the best approach to user management across different information pages. The service returns a collection with customer info after a secure login. My idea is to have a Customer object class that is stored in session. Is it possible to use things like HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated followed by HttpContext.Current.Session["UserId"] without using a database with role-based security? Would I be better off with a combination of local database, Linq to SQL or datasets rather than using just class objects for data fetched from service? thanks, nakori

    Hi I have my movie in the main timeline and then have a smaller clip in which there is a dynamic text box. In that smaller movie I have some actionscript myVars = new LoadVars(); myVars.load("http://preview.domain.co.uk/inc/loadVars.php"); myVars.percentage myVars.onLoad = function() { text_box.text = this.percentage; }; but when I play the movie it doesn't work. However if I move the dynamic textbox onto the main timeline it works. Please can someone help.

  • Refresh a control on the master page after postback

    Hi all! What i am trying to do here is to show a couple of validation messages in form of a bulletlist, so i have a Div on my master page containing a asp:bulletlist. Like this: <div> <asp:BulletedList ID="blstValidationErrorMessage" runat="server" BulletStyle="Disc"> </asp:BulletedList> </div> When i then click the Save button from any of my pages (inside the main contentPlaceHolder) i create a list of messages and give this list as datasouce like this: blstValidationErrorMessage.DataSource = validationMessageCollection; blstValidationErrorMessage.DataBind(); The save button is located inside an updatepanel: asp:UpdatePanel runat="server" ID="UpdatePanel" ChildrenAsTriggers="true" UpdateMode="Conditional" Nothing happens, i can see that the datasource of the bulletlist contains X items, the problems must arise because the Save button is inside an update panel and the elements outside this updatepanel (master page controls for example) is not refreshed. So my question is, how do i make the bulletlist refresh after the postback? Thanks in advance.
