  • Rails layout: 2 cols cache and content_for..

    Hy, I have a layout that has 2 cols and in every view i have: content_for :main_col and content_for :side_col in some parts of the site, the side_col is always the same and how do i do that being DRY? partial render? i dont think is so good. then it comes to cache.. the content_for is not good to cache... you have better ideias on how to implement this?thanks

    Hi, I'm creating a page to help diagnose the problem our users are experiencing with our web pages (you know, asking a user "What browser are you using?" usually leads to "Internet"). This page already submits to me all the HTTP headers and now I'm trying to have JavaScript give some more informations, so I thought it would be great to have the user's navigator JavaScript object and I started looking how to serialize it so I can submit it through a form. The problem is I'm not able to serialize the navigator object using any JSON library I know of, everyone returns an empty object (?!), so I decided to write an ad-hoc serializer.     Software configuration : I have a new server with Windows Server 2008 R2 installed via VMWare. I have installed Apache2.2, PHP5.2 and MySQL5.5 as separate packages. Issue : On my first installation of my application, all works great. When I updated some JS and CSS files and accessed my application again from a PC on local network, I got the old JS and CSS versions. When I access the same application on local server I got the latest versions of those files. Link of my application on local server is : http://localhost/BADIL Link of my application from local network is : http://LOCAL_SERVER_IP/BADIL I think that must be some cache but I don't know where. Maybe on Win Server 2008 R2 or on VMWare? The question is: Why, when I access my application on the server, everything works fine, but when I access the same application from a local network, I do not see the updated versions of JS and CSS files?

    I've got a Tomcat 6.0.35 service with a SOAP based webapp protected by Digest Authentication. We are seeing issues with various users getting repeated 401 responses since we upgraded to 6.0.35. Additionally we are getting the following entries in Catalina log: WARNING: A valid entry has been removed from client nonce cache to make room for new entries. A replay attack is now possible. To prevent the possibility of replay attacks, reduce nonceValidity or increase cnonceCacheSize. Further warnings of this type will be suppressed for 5 minutes. Any idea what is going on?

  • Memory cache Ubuntu 9.10 server x86 doesn't work as expected

    We're using an Ubuntu 9.10 server to transfer Ghost-image files. We configured it only with Samba. And the DOS-clients connect to Samba. The latest updates are installed and so far the servers is running fine. When we image 10 pc's with the same image of 2 files of 2GB there's no disk activity. Everything is loaded in the RAM. There's 4GB in the server. But when we use 2 pc's with 2 different image files of 500 MB (8x) files then there's a lot of continuous disk activity. The speed is lower. So it seems that Ubuntu doesn't cache more then one big file. Are there settings to change this behaviour?

    I currently have 3 stores online with 3 different domains, running magento with Apache and varnish (using Phoenix page cache extension) running on centos One store is for uk, another for Ireland and another for USA Trouble is (Example) If an US user hits the uk store , I would like the user to be notified to go to the correct store on the page, (I do not want them automatically redirected) I was able to php-pecl-geoip with maxmind database to get this to work, but as users on my website have increased I had to begin using varnish. how could I implement this functionality on with varnish so I know what country the user is from so I can display a message to the user to view their relevant website?
