• MPVolumeView is not visible on the view

  Hi everybody, I am using MPVolumeView in an application to control the volume of a audio track. I have used following code. but volume view is not visible on the view. Anybody has faced the same problem?? • ViewController vs. View

  Trying to wrap my head around the apple design scheme. I have a UIViewController and the corresponding XIB file that has my main screen in my application. I want to have a button on this XIB that displays another "form" (this is my disconnect) in the foreground where the user selects from a myriad of choices, then it hides that "form" and goes back to the first one. I'm completely lost here. Initially I thought I'd just add another view and set the self.view of my controller to the new view, add another IBAction and call it a day, but I can't seem to make that work. For sake of argument, say I want to "gray out" the current form, have a modal type window that takes up roughly 60% of the screen and requires you select an option, then it hides itself and we go back to normal. What is the standard approach here? Thanks

• Setting UIActivityIndicatorView while view is prepared

  Hi, I have a UITabbBarController with a UITableView. Under certain circumstances the TabBarControllers dataset requires updating when a user arrives from another view, e.g. the initial load when the TabBarController is called the first time, or when the settings are changed. This dataset update takes about 2 seconds and I want to show an UIActivityIndicatorView. Trouble is that when I enter from another view I don't know which view to attach it to, since the loading of the tabbarController is carried out in the viewWillAppear method. Any clues how I can go about this?

• MS Access (2010) Enable Design View

  I downloaded the Access template below for doing a home inventory: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/results.aspx?qu=home%20inventory&ex=1&queryid=0d245f2a%2Dacdc%2D4161%2D92c8%2D8ba16a52ab32&AxInstalled=1&c=0#ai:TC101918100| The design view is not visible, which is a bit of a nuisance. Things I've tried: 1) In options/options/current database/ the check boxes (enable layout view & enable design changes for tables in Datasheet view) are both greyed out. 2) I've unblocked the file using Right-Click-Properties. 3) I've tried copying/exporting the objects to another database. But can only copy/export the tables. 4) I've tried holding shift when opening the DB. 5) Enabling all trust permissions etc. None of these work Does anybody have any suggestions. (I'm using Office 2010) Thanks

  We have a bunch of formsets: EmailAddressInlineFormSet = generic_inlineformset_factory( EmailAddress, extra=1, exclude=["created_by","last_modified_by"]) emailaddressformset = EmailAddressInlineFormSet( instance=person, prefix="emailaddress") # [ more definitions ] and, in the view, we process them as: emailaddressformset = EmailAddressInlineFormSet( request.POST, instance=person, prefix="emailaddress") # [ more definitions ] So, nothing fancy or unordinary. The unfortunate or unordinary fact is, we have 15 of these formsets, one for email addresses, other for phone numbers etc. so the view code is ugly and not-so-manageable. What would be the most unhackish way to handle this number of formsets in a single view? At the end -i guess- I'm looking for a class or a functionality like multiple_generic_inline_formset and open to all kind of suggestions or discussions.

• Magento: Syncing product/category translations from "Store 1 > German Store View" to "Store 2 > German Store View"

  For two different store Views using the same locale, it is easy to manage translations for miscellaneous text that's stored in CSV files. It's just a question of configuring the locale correctly so the correct CSV files will be used. But my client has entered a bunch of translations for products and categories into the admin by changing the scope to "Store 1 German" and setting the translations. But now he has Store 2, with a German store view. How does he keep "Store 1 German Store View" and "Store 2 German Store View" in sync?

• Passing data from a View to a controller in ASP.Net MVC

  Hello, I have a dictionary I'm passing to a View. I want to be able to pass the values of that dictionary back to a Controller action from this same View. Is there anyway this can be accomplished without using a form? The situation is that I need to be able to pass these back to a controller action that is called when a user clicks an ActionLink from the View, and in my experience an ActionLink cannot be used to submit a values of a form, i.e. I've only been able to submit values of a form using the form's submit button. Unless there's a way to use an ActionLink to submit values in a form.

• Create view or SP, only if the DB contains a pattern

  Hi all: I am working on a script, that needs to be run in many different SQL servers. Some of them, shared the same structure, in other words, they are identical, but the filegroups and the DB names are different. This is because is one per client. Anyway, I would like when running a script, If I chose the wrong DB, it should not be executed. I am trying to mantain a clean DB. here is my example, which only works for dropping a view if exists, but does not work for creating a new one. I also wonder how it would be for creating a stored procedure. • Adding a new view to a Window-based app (re: MapKit tutorial)

  I'm trying add a new view in a window-based application but not really getting anywhere. I've been going through a great MapKit tutorial lately, http://mithin.in/2009/06/22/using-iphone-sdk-mapkit-framework-a-tutorial/ and have successfully set it up and added some further buttons and customizations. However I've gotten stuck at what I assume ought to be a brain-dead simple step. I have added a toolbar to the bottom of the app, and a 'settings' style button. Following this I created a SettingsViewController complete with it's own view. Now I'd like to connect them but I've had absolutely no luck trying to figure out how to do this. I've also gone through several other good tutorials lately, http://miketeo.net/wp/index.php/2008/08/31/simple-iphone-tutorial-part-1.html http://blog.webscale.co.in/?p=228 http://www.iphonesdkarticles.com/2009/01/uitableview-searching-table-view.html but I've gotten lost trying to tie these two bits together. • ASP.NET MVC: run code after view has rendered (close db transaction)

  Hi, I am using ASP.NET MVC2 with NHibernate, but am facing an issue. All calls to the database via NHibernate should be inside a transaction, however code inside the view kicks off database calls in some instances. Thus there is a need to be able to commit the transaction after the view has rendered. For example displaying a list of users and their user roles you might show the user role using this code: <%: Model.UserRole.Name % This will cause a hit on the database as the UserRole is loaded using a NHibernate proxy. You can fetch the UserRole eagerly which circumvents the issue in this case, but there are cases where it is much faster to use lazy loading. Anyway, is there a way to run code after a view has rendered?

  I have created a view in Drupal. I"m using javascript to modify css in each row. The script runs on the first row, but does not make the changes on the rest of rows from the view.   You may have already come across some of my other questions related to question, but I was having an issue with a SplitView iPad app where my application:didFinishLaunchingWithOptions method stopped executing after I went into Interface Builder and changed around the structure of my apps interface. I couldn't figure out what was preventing my didFinishLauchingWithOptions method from executing, but then I removed a "view" object I had in my view heirarchy (shown below) and suddenly my didFinishLauchingWithOptions method started executing again. I've moved passed it now, but I'm still unclear why that would cause the problem. Any ideas why that "view" object would prevent the didFinishLaunchingWithOptions method from executing?

• View of nodes and their translations

  I'm trying to create a view of nodes and their translations. Specifically, I want each row to show the node title for each language. The way I'm doing it right now is by filtering the view by a specific language, then adding one relationship of type "Node translation: Translations" for each language on the site. I can then choose the "Node: Title" field, once for the original language and once per relationship. The problem with this approach is that the nodes that don't exist in the filtered language, but exist in other languages, are not included in the view. That's what I need help with.

  In an ASP.NET MVC application (which has very little chance of having its view technology ported to something non-HTML, but whose functional requirements evolve weekly,) how much HTML should ideally be allowed to be directly represented in the Model? I might come across as a design bigot for this, but I regard it as bad practice to allow any view constructs to "leak" into the model in an MVC application (and vice versa). For example, a Model that represents an item you're about to purchase should know nothing about the HTML check box that says "add giftwrap/message", nor should it know about any HTML drop down lists for payment card types. Conversely the View shouldn't be doing work like figuring out button text by translating keys into values (by looking in resource files.)

• Alignment of View Elements within a LinearLayout

  I hate to ask this question; for some reason I can't figure it out on my own. I have a vertical LinearLayout that contains a custom View that I've defined in my app and and a TextView. I'd like my custom View to be aligned on the top of the screen and the TextView to be aligned at the bottom of the screen. Unfortunately, no matter what changes I make to the attributes of the XML file, my custom View always seems to be centered vertically when I run the emulator.   I have an application that isn't nav based. So there is no UINavigationController in the App Delegate. However, I need to switch to a UINavigationController for a piece of the application. Steps I currently took... Create a new Class that extends UIViewController Added a UINavigationController via IB Told IB that the new UIViewController's view is the view for the UINavigationController The problem now is that the File's Owner needs it's view set. But via IB there is no way to specify this. So obviously, I'm not going about this the right way. Any tips in the right direction are much appreciated.

  I have a web page which display a list of items in a HTML table. Above the list is a form which allows the user to add a new item to the list via AJAX (using Ajax.BeginForm). When the data is posted to the controller via AJAX I add the new item to the database backend and generate a new table row via a Partial View which then gets appended to the exisiting table. When the form to add new items however contains errors, I want to render the form back to the web browser and display that. So here is the question: Is it possible to specify the UpdateTargetId from within the controller? At the moment whatever View I return from the controller gets inserted in the same target, but I would like to update a different target (ie. different UpdateTargetId) based on whatever view was returned from the controller. Any help would be appreciated...

  Hi There everyone... looking for some advice on what type of view can be used to build a screen with the following elements: 2 labels followed by 2 buttons. Then a small table view with 3 rows. Should a UIView be used or a UITableView? I've attempted using a UITableView - however I couldn't add the labels or buttons. So I've now built the view using a UIView. I added the labels and buttons and then a UITableView from the library. However I have no idea how to populate the rows in the table? Any ideas? Regards, Fiona

• iPhone - Make loadView entries fill up parent view?

  I have a loadView call that basically places one view at the top (like a header) and one at the bottom (like a footer). It's possible via a passed in parameter to not have a header or a footer, to hide them later, or to resize the view. I have all this working, but it's very susceptible to breaking because the views can go in various places of various sizes and all must be manually set to the correct size or they will not use up all the space. I want one in between the two of them that automatically resizes to fill whatever space is not taken by the others. loadView doesn't seem to be able to obtain the size of its parent's frame (or where it's being fit in, exactly), nor do I see an obvious way to just put the center view at a certain position and have its width and height automatically adapted. Any ideas? If I'm not explaining myself well enough and you know Java Swing, think BorderLayout with a BorderLayout.NORTH, BorderLayout.SOUTH, and BorderLayout.CENTER component.
