  Hi I'm trying to take a screen shot of an applet running inside a browser. The applet is using JOGL (OpenGL for Java) to display 3D models. (1) The screen shots always come out either black or white.The current solution uses the usual GDI calls. Screen shots of applets not running OpenGL are fine.   Say I have two entities Foo and Bar where Foo has-many Bar's, class Foo { int ImportantNumber { get; set; } IEnumerable<Bar> Bars { get; set; } } class FooDTO { Foo Foo { get; set; } int BarCount { get; set; } } How can I efficiently sum up the number of Bars per Foo in a DTO using a single query, preferrably only with the Criteria interface. I have tried any number of ways to get the original entity out of a query with ´SetProjection´ but no luck. The current theory is to do something like SELECT Foo.*, BarCounts.counts FROM Foo LEFT JOIN ( SELECT fooId, COUNT(*) as counts FROM Bar GROUP BY fooId ) AS BarCounts ON Foo.id=BarCounts.fooId but with Criterias, and I just can't seem to figure out how.

I've found various ways of setting the wallpaper in the API, but I can't seem to find the equivalent ways of setting the lock screen image. I've seen various posts saying that customising the lock screen by adding widgets or bits of applications is not possible, but surely there must be a way to set the image programmatically? • How can I convert a projection that's not part of spatial_ref_sys?

  Hi, I'm importing shapefiles into a Postgres+PostGIS database. Here's my usual procedure: * Find an srid in the spatial_ref_sys table where srtext appears to match the shapefile's .prj file * Upload the data into a new table using the shp2pgsql utility, specifying the srid using the -s flag * Add the new table to my main geometry table, and on the way convert to an srid of 4269 (the Census standard projection) using ST_Transform Unfortunately, the spatial_ref_sys table doesn't include Mississippi state's standard projection. The contents of their .prj file is as follows, where I've bolded the parts I usually try to match: PROJCS["mstm",GEOGCS["GCS_North_American_1983",DATUM["D_North_American_1983",SPHEROID["GRS_1980",6378137.0,298.257222101]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0.0],UNIT["Degree",0.0174532925199433]],PROJECTION["Transverse_Mercator"],PARAMETER["False_Easting",500000.0],PARAMETER["False_Northing",1300000.0],PARAMETER["Central_Meridian",-89.75],PARAMETER["Scale_Factor",0.9998335],PARAMETER["Latitude_Of_Origin",32.5],UNIT["Meter",1.0]] I eventually found the ogr2ogr utility, and especially with the "peace and joy" promises, I decided to give it a try.   Hi, I was looking up how to create a view programmatically and found the following example code: self.view = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480)]; This works great, except I don't like that it hardcodes the size of the screen. Is there a way to look up the size of the screen? An important point someone brought up is that if the app is running during a phone call then the screen will be slightly smaller because of the green "return to call" bar.

• Home screen widget size for large screen or hdpi?

  From Android widget screen guidelines, http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/ui_guidelines/widget_design.html, we know that, home screen has 4*4 cells, and in portrait orientation, each cell is 80 pixels wide by 100 pixels tall. I think these are for baseline HVGA screen. How about for large screens and hdpi screens, do they still have 4*4 cells for widget and each cell in portrait orientation is still 80 pixels * 100 pixels? Thanks.

  Frustrated by lack of a simple ACDSee equivalent for OS X, I'm looking to hack one up for myself. I'm looking for a gui library that accommodates: Full screen image display High quality image fit-to-screen (for display) Low memory usage Fast display Reasonable learning curve (the simpler the better) Looks like there are several choices, so which is the best? Here are some I've run across: PyOpenGL PyGame PyQT wxpython I don't have any particular experience with any of these, nor any strong desire to become an expert - I'm looking for the simplest solution. What do you recommend? [Update] For those not familiar with ACDSee, here's what it does that I care about: Simple list/thubmnail display of images in a directory Sort by name/size/type Ability to view images full screen Single-key delete while viewing full screen Move to next/previous image while viewing full screen Ability to select a group of images for: move to / copy to directory delete resize ACDSee has a bunch of niceties as well, such as remembering directories you've moved images to in the past, remembering your resize settings, displaying the total size of the images you've selected, etc. I've tried most of the options I could find (including Xee) and none of them quite get there. Please keep in mind that this is a programming/library question, not a criticism of any of the existing tools.

• Android multiple screen sizes with same density

  I'm confused regarding the densities. I see that with medium density, the screen resolution could be either 320x480, 480x800, or 480x854. So if I have an image thats 300px wide in the mdpi folder, how is it going to look the same size on all 3 different screen sizes (mainly 320x480 vs the other 2)? And by look the same size, I mean scale to be bigger or smaller depending upon the screen size. Thanks.

  We all know why Java does/should not have multiple inheritance. So this is not questioning about what has already been debated till-cows-come-home. This discusses what we would do when we wish to create a class that has the characteristics of two or more other classes. Probably, most of us would do this to "inherit" from three classes. For simplicity, I left out the constructor.: class Car extends Vehicle { final public Transport transport; final public Machine machine; } So that, Car class directly inherits methods and objects of Vehicle class, but would have to refer to transport and machine explicitly to refer to objects instantiated in Transport and Machine. Car car = new Car(); car.drive(); // from Vehicle car.transport.isAmphibious(); // from Transport car.machine.getCO2Footprint(); // from Machine I thought this was a good idea until when I encounter frameworks that require setter and getter methods. For example, the XML <Car amphibious='false' footPrint='1000' model='Fordstatic999'/> would look for the methods setAmphibious(..), setFootPrint(..) and setModel(..). Therefore, I have to project the methods from Transport and Machine classes class Car extends Vehicle { final public Transport transport; final public Machine machine; public void setAmphibious(boolean b){ this.transport.setAmphibious(b); } public void setFootPrint(String fp){ this.machine.setFootPrint(fp); } } This is OK, if there were just a few characteristics. Right now, I am trying to adapt all of SmartGWT into GWT UIBinder, especially those classes that are not a GWT widget. There are lots of characteristics to project. Wouldn't it be nice if there exists some form of annotation framework that is like this: class Car extends Vehicle @projects {Transport @projects{Machine @projects Guzzler}} { /* No need to explicitly instantiate Transport, Machine or Guzzler */ .... } Where, in case of common names of characteristics exist, the characteristics of Machine would take precedence Guzzler's, and Transport's would have precedence over Machine's, and Vehicle's would have precedence over Transport's. The annotation framework would then instantiate Transport, Machine and Guzzler as hidden members of Car and expand to break-out the protected/public characteristics, in the precedence dictated by the @project annotation sequence, into actual source code or into byte-code. Preferably into byte-code. So that the setFootPrint method is found in both Machine and Guzzler, only that of Machine's would be projected. Questions: Don't you think this is a good idea to have such a framework? Does such a framework already exist? Tell me where/what. Is there an eclipse plugin that does it? Is there a proposal or plan anywhere that you know about such an annotation framework? It would be wonderful too, if the annotation/plugin framework lets me specify that boolean, int, or whatever else needs to be converted from String and does the conversion/parsing for me too. • Tinting iPhone application screen red

  I'm trying to place a red tint on all the screens of my iPhone application. I've experimented on a bitmap and found I get the effect I want by compositing a dark red color onto the screen image using Multiply (kCGBlendModeMultiply). So the question is how to efficiently do this in real time on the iPhone? One dumb way might be to grab a bitmap of the current screen, composite into the bitmap and then write the composited bitmap back to the screen. This seems like it would almost certainly be too slow. In addition, I need some way of knowing when part of the screen has been redrawn so I can update the tinting. I can almost get the effect I want by putting a red, translucent, fullscreen UIView above everything. That tints everything red within further intervention on my part, but the effect is much "muddier" than results from the composite. So do any wizards out there know of some mechanism I can use to automatically composite the red over the app in similar fashion to what the translucent red UIView does?

• Footer height based on screen size

  Hi everyone, I would like to create a footer which is relative to the content (so not fixed), but fills the rest of the screen. So for example, on my larger monitor, the footer would start in the same place, but fill up 100px (for example). On a smaller monitor, it only needs to fill up 75px. I tried using 100%, but it causes the page to be really big and the user can scroll down and fill the entire screen with the footer. Is there a way to get it to be a bit more reasonable size, so that it just about fills the bottom of the screen?   I successfully implemented an application that works on ipad as well as on iphone. In that I provided option to user to send the screen shot of the application as mail attachment. Even that is functioning well. But my code is taking screen shot irrespective of orientation. The image i'm getting is always in portrait mode. I want to take the screen shot depending on the orientation of ipad/iphone and send the image as attachment. I'm using following code to take the screen shot.
