    I am from a Java background and is learning C++. I encountered the following C++ code: String source = String::New("'Hello' + ', World'"); As what I understand so far, this should be a call to static member function 'New' of class 'String'. But, I've searched through the whole header file defining 'String', there is not any static member named 'New' in the String class or its super classes. Is there any special meaning attached to String class or the New member function in C++?

    I have an app with a tab bar, and nav controllers in each tab. When user shakes the device, a UIImageView appears as a child view in the nav controller. But the UIImageView must contain a special image, depending on the device's current orientation.     I know how they work conceptually, but how are signals and slots implemented in the Qt framework? Qt Creator treats them as keywords, but are they simply a set of macros, or is a special pre-processor required before these source files can be compiled? In other words, if I use Qt's signal/slot features in my code, can I easily compile it on any C++ compiler?

The basic problem is that the default values of my preferences are getting read fine on the simulator but are coming up NULL on the iPhone.     I'm creating a ASP.NET MVC website and I was wandering which techniques do you guys use to protect primary key on these mvc urls. Actually ASP.NET MVC generates this syntax for its urls: /Controller/Action/Id Last week I was trying to encrypt it using SHA-1 Encryption, but this encrypter generates some special symbols like + (plus), / (slash), and other annoying chars which difficult the decryption. Perhaps creating a custom encryption should solve the problem. But I wanna here from you guys, do you have some ideas to protect mvc urls?

    Is it possible to automatically encrypt files via 'git push' before transferring to a remote repository? And automatically decode them while 'git pull'. I.e, if I have some remote server with shared access with git repository there, and I don't want to our project was stolen without a permission...     In most cases, I understand that a floating point comparison test should be implemented using over a range of values (abs(x-y) < epsilon), but does self subtraction imply that the result will be zero? // can the assertion be triggered? float x = //?; assert( x-x == 0 ) My guess is that nan/inf might be special cases, but I'm more interested in what happens for simple values.

Since it's optional, I can either default the maximum to a special value or to the maximum possible integer. The first option would require an extra check at each iteration, so I'd like to instead find out what is the maximum integer that will work with the -gt Bourne Shell operation.

When I create a new post in it and view it, the link is something like this: "http://localhost/wordpress/product/a-product-title" This page views as expected but when I try to go to the supposed parent page: "http://localhost/wordpress/product/" I get a 404 error page.     I've read some conflicting articles on Macbooks and memory upgrades. Some say you have to buy the "special" Mac memory (bulls$%t), others say manufacturers like Partriot and Ocz will work fine. For example, it wants me to have Cache-control: no-cache="set-cookie" in addition to Cache-control: no-cache I have been setting the latter with the following line in my C# codebehind: Response.CacheControl = "no-cache"; Is there a special way to indicate both directives at once? Do I just separate them with a semicolon?
