  • position of options in HTML select element

    I have a element that contains options. The element is 150px wide but some of the options are wider. So when rendering, the browser shows the overflow to the right. How can I make the options list overflow to the left?     I am using Symfony 1.3.2 on Ubuntu. I have written a little helper function (statsfoo) that prints out summary statistics about an item. I am using the helper function in my template like this: // In StatsHelper.php <?php function statsfoo($some_param) { return "<div class=\"sfoo\">&9830; the stats number for item is 42</div>" } //In showStatsSuccess.php <?php use_helper(Stats); <?php echo statsfoo($foobar, ESC_ENTITIES); I tried both ESC_ENTITIES and ESC_RAW. In both instances, the raw number (&9830) was displayed in the page. I want to display the diamond instead. What am I doing wrong and how can I fix this?

  • HTML link over text issue

    I need to add a link over the entirety of a div which contains some more divs. Looks like this: div.top { width: 150px; height: 150px; position: relative; } a.link { width: 150px; height: 150px; position: absolute; top: 0; } <div class="top"> <div class="text1">Text 1</div> <div class="text2">Text 2</div> <a class="link" href="http://something"></a> </div> So I put a link inside and made it the size of the top div. Everythign works fine in Firefox, Safari and Chrome. In IE and Opera, whenever I hover mouse cursor over that area but also over a text, the cursor is changing to selection cursor, not a hand (meaning no link). Whenever I move the cursor off the text, the link is available again. How can I make the link to "cover" the text completely? I tried adding z-index: div.top { z-index: 0; } a.link { z-index: 1; } doesn't help. Any ideas?

  • html vertical space between blocks appears

    Please have a look at this page www.pixeli.ca/issue. I have begun making a page layout using CSS framework 960.gs. My problem is that there is some strange space appears between block with top image and blue block with "hello" string. So you can see a green stripe there that shouldn't be visible at all. I tried different variants and have no idea what's wrong with it. I noticed that it happens only with the block with images inside them, but if there is only text, no space happens. Thanks.

I have a form that has 8 columns and a variable number of rows which I need to email to the client in a nicely formatted email. The form submits the needed fields as a multidimensional array. But, I can't find any examples that will generate that type of table! It seems like this should be something fairly straightforward, but I just can't locate an example that works the way I need it too.

    Greetings... I'm trying to get my Sharepoint 2007 site to render in Standards mode when browsing in IE. Since makes every browser that I might be worrying about do just that, I decided to use it. I've read here and there that Standards mode could cause unwanted behavior to some OOTB functionality and style (fly-outs, calendar items, etc...), but can't find a full list containing error reference and ways to correct it. So, I'm looking for any kind of info and guidance on the matter... Just trying to avoid endless clicking through my app and hopping that some one altruistic by nature has gone through testing hell already and is willing to share. Thanks...
