  • Problem Saving Silverlight 4 Business Application

    I’m trying to create a new project using the Silverlight 4 business application template in Visual Studio 2010 beta 2. When I click “Save All” after the project is created I get build errors such as: The project file "..\BusinessApplication1.Web\BusinessApplication1.Web.vbproj" was not found.   • surfaceview + glsurfaceview + framelayout

    Hi, I'm new at this (java and opengl) so please bear with me if the answer to the question is simple. :) I'm trying to get a camera preview screen with the ability to display 3d objects simultaneously. Having gone through the samples at the api demos, I thought combining the code for the the examples at the api demo would suffice. But somehow its not working. The forces me to shut down upon startup and the error is mentioned as null pointer exception. Could someone share with me where did I go wrong and how to proceed from there.     When adding a DLL as a reference to an ASP.Net project, VS2008 adds several files to the bin directory. If the DLL is called foo.dll, VS2008 adds foo.dll.refresh, foo.pdb and foo.xml. I know what foo.dll is :-), why does VS2008 add the other three files? What do those three files do? Can I delete them? Do they need to be added in source control?

    I have a problem to deploy two page layouts, I can deploy one page layout with no problem but if I add another one the first one gets the same layout as the newly added second page layout...   • Running cocos2d with iPhone SDK 4 GM

    I tried to build my (cocos2d 0.99.0-based) project with iPhone SDK 4 GM which was just released today. The reason is because I want to incorporate iAds in my apps. However I got 20 error messages which looks like errors in library calling. Can anyone tell me whether we can actually use cocos2d 0.99.0? I'm aware that 99.3 was released but they didn't mention any iOS 4 compatibilities.

  • Switching to landscape mode in Android Emulator

    This is probably a pretty easy to answer question, but I can't find the solution myself after a couple hours of searching the documentation and Google. I set the orientation of my Android app to landscape in the AndroidManifest.xml file: android:screenOrientation="landscape" However, when I run the app in the simulator, it appears sideways and in portrait mode. How can I switch the emulator to landscape mode on a mac? It's running the 1.6 SDK. Thanks!

    I need to build a quick feasibility test / proof-of-concept of a remote database for a client, that will be populated with mostly-typical Company and People data (names, addresses, etc); 150K records or so. The sample databases mentioned here were helpful: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/57068/good-databases-with-sample-data ...but, I'd like to be able to generate sample data like this easily on less-typical datasets as well. Anyone have any recommendations for off-the-shelf (or off-the-web) solutions?

  • Where is the handy designer for setting Permissions and schema diagram designer in a SQL2005 Databas

    I have just installed the GDR RTM version of Visual Studio Team System Database Edition GDR RTM. It all seems to work wonderfully, but I seem to have to edit XML (Database.sqlpermissions) for specify SQL Permissions. Am I missing something? For that matter where is the schema diagram tool? I understand GDR exposes alot for extending the Database Edition components, so am I supposed to wait for third party extensions to provide the diagram tool and permissions designer?

    I have created an MSBuild tasks for building my projects, but for various reasons I wan't to switch to NAnt. Is there some task that would be equivalent to MSBuild's XmlMassUpdate in NAnt? If possible I would like to use the same xml replacement file I used with XmlMassUpdate. (for more info about XmlMassUpdate, here's a short usage I found on stackoverflow's site: MSBuild example) I tried with xmlPeek/xmlPoke tasks but couldn't get them to iterate a tree paths in a replacement file...

    Hello All, Attempting to use XStream's JavaBeanConverter and running into an issue. Most likely I'm missng something simple, or not understanding XStream's converter handling well enough. @XStreamAlias("test") public class TestObject { private String foo; public String getFoo() { return foo; } public void setFoo(String foo) { this.foo = foo; } } public void test() throws Exception { XStream x = new XStream(new XppDriver()); x.autodetectAnnotations(true); x.processAnnotations(TestObject.class); x.registerConverter(new JavaBeanConverter(x.getMapper())); TestObject o = new TestObject(); o.setFoo("bar"); String xml = x.toXML(o); System.out.println(xml); /* Expecting... <test> <foo>bar</foo> </test> But instead getting... <test> <foo/> </test> */ } I tried adding a trace on the TestObject.getFoo() method and it appears it is being called by XStream, but the data isn't being written to the output stream. After looking at the source for JavaBeanConverter, it looks like my implementation should work, which leads me to believe I haven't configured something correctly during the XStream setup. Am I just missing something simple? Thanks!     Is there a Google API similar to Yahoo and Bing's API's to check for the number of indexed pages on a specified domain? For example, for Yahoo if I type in the following URL: http://search.yahooapis.com/SiteExplorerService/V1/pageData?appid=MTSlade&query=http://www.dave-sellers.co.uk&domain_only=1&results=1 Then it will return some XML detailing the number of pages indexed as 'totalResultsAvailable' Any idea? Node.js is supposed to be a good candidate for this type of application. At first I took a look at Gallery, but it's marked as deprecated. http://developer.android.com/reference/android/widget/Gallery.html We're told to try ViewPager instead. But the PagerAdapter class doesn't handle recycling of views for us (like a standard ListView), does it? http://developer.android.com/reference/android/support/v4/view/PagerAdapter.html Is it up to us to build the recycling mechanism?
