  • Why I got a "sent to freed object error"?

    - by Tattat
    I have a Table View, and CharTableController, the CharTableController works like this: .h: #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> @interface CharTableController : UITableViewController <UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource>{ // IBOutlet UILabel *debugLabel; NSArray *listData; } //@property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UILabel *debugLabel; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSArray *listData; @end The .m: #import "CharTableController.h" @implementation CharTableController @synthesize listData; - (void)viewDidLoad { NSArray *array = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:@"Sleepy", @"Sneezy", @"Bashful", @"Happy", @"Doc", @"Grumpy", @"Dopey", @"Thorin", @"Dorin", @"Nori", @"Ori", @"Balin", @"Dwalin", @"Fili", @"Kili", @"Oin", @"Gloin", @"Bifur", @"Bofur", @"Bombur", nil]; self.listData = array; [array release]; [super viewDidLoad]; } - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { return [self.listData count]; } - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *SimpleTableIdentifier = @"SimpleTableIdentifier"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier: SimpleTableIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:SimpleTableIdentifier] autorelease]; NSUInteger row = [indexPath row]; cell.textLabel.text = [listData objectAtIndex:row]; } return cell; } @end And I Use the IB to link the TableView's dataSource and delegate to the CharTableController. In the CharTableController's view is the TableView in IB obviously. Reference Object in dataSource TableView and delegate TableView. What's wrong with my setting? thz.

  • Flex AS3: ComboBox set visible to false doesn't hide

    - by jolierouge
    I have a combobox in a view that receives information about application state changes, and then is supposed to show or hide it's children based on the whole application state. It receives state change messages, it traces the correct values, it does what it's supposed to do, however, it just doesn't seem to work. Essentially, all it needs to do is hide a combobox during one state, and show it again during another state. Here is the code: public function updateState(event:* = null):void { trace("Project Panel Updating State"); switch(ApplicationData.getSelf().currentState) { case 'login': this.visible = false; break; case 'grid': this.visible = true; listProjects.includeInLayout = false; listProjects.visible = false; trace("ListProjects: " + listProjects.visible); listLang.visible = true; break; default: break; } } Here is the MXML: <mx:HBox> <mx:Button id="btnLoad" x="422" y="84" label="Load" enabled="true" click="loadProject();"/> <mx:ComboBox id="listProjects" x="652" y="85" editable="true" change="listChange()" color="#050CA8" fontFamily="Arial" /> <mx:Label x="480" y="86" text="Language:" id="label3" fontFamily="Arial" /> <mx:ComboBox id="listLang" x="537" y="84" editable="true" dataProvider="{langList}" color="#050CA8" fontFamily="Arial" width="107" change="listLangChange(event)"/> <mx:CheckBox x="830" y="84" label="Languages in English" id="langCheckbox" click='toggleLang()'/> </mx:HBox>

  • should variable be released or not? iphone-sdk

    - by psebos
    Hi, In the following piece of code (from a book) data is an NSDictionary *data; defined in the header (no property). In the viewDidLoad of the controller the following occurs: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; NSArray *keys = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"home", @"work", nil]; NSArray *homeDVDs = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"Thomas the Builder", nil]; NSArray *workDVDs = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:@"Intro to Blender", nil]; NSArray *values = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:homeDVDs, workDVDs, nil]; data = [[NSDictionary alloc] initWithObjects:values forKeys:keys]; } Since I am really new to objective-c can someone explain to me why I do not have to retain the variables keys,homeDVDs,workDVDs and values prior exiting the function? I would expect prior the data allocation something like: [keys retain]; [homeDVDs retain]; [workDVDs retain]; [values retain]; or not? Does InitWithObjects copies (recursively) all objects into a new table? Assuming we did not have the last line (data allocation) should we release all the NSArrays prior exiting the function (or we could safely assumed that all NSArrays will be autoreleased since there is no alloc for each one?) Thanks!!!!

  • How do I get a window caption?

    - by P.Brian.Mackey
    I would like to get a Window Caption as given by spy++ (highlighted in red) I have code to do this (or so I thought)...but it seems to work pretty awful....in some cases 1% of the time... public delegate bool EnumDelegate(IntPtr hWnd, int lParam); [DllImport("user32.dll")] [return: MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.Bool)] static extern bool IsWindowVisible(IntPtr hWnd); [DllImport("user32.dll", EntryPoint = "GetWindowText", ExactSpelling = false, CharSet = CharSet.Auto, SetLastError = true)] static extern int GetWindowText(IntPtr hWnd, StringBuilder lpWindowText, int nMaxCount); [DllImport("user32.dll", EntryPoint = "EnumDesktopWindows", ExactSpelling = false, CharSet = CharSet.Auto, SetLastError = true)] static extern bool EnumDesktopWindows(IntPtr hDesktop, EnumDelegate lpEnumCallbackFunction, IntPtr lParam); static List<NativeWindow> collection = new List<NativeWindow>(); public static NativeWindow GetAppNativeMainWindow() { GetNativeWindowHelper.EnumDelegate filter = delegate(IntPtr hWnd, int lParam) { StringBuilder strbTitle = new StringBuilder(255); int nLength = GetNativeWindowHelper.GetWindowText(hWnd, strbTitle, strbTitle.Capacity + 1); string strTitle = strbTitle.ToString(); if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(strTitle)) { if (strTitle.ToLower().StartsWith("window title | my application")) { NativeWindow window = new NativeWindow(); window.AssignHandle(hWnd); collection.Add(window); return false;//stop enumerating } } return true;//continue enumerating }; GetNativeWindowHelper.EnumDesktopWindows(IntPtr.Zero, filter, IntPtr.Zero); if (collection.Count != 1) { //log error ReleaseWindow(); return null; } else return collection[0]; } public static void ReleaseWindow() { foreach (var item in collection) { item.ReleaseHandle(); } }

  • Can I get a reference to a pending transaction from a SqlConnection object?

    - by Rune
    Hey, Suppose someone (other than me) writes the following code and compiles it into an assembly: using (SqlConnection conn = new SqlConnection(connString)) { conn.Open(); using (var transaction = conn.BeginTransaction()) { /* Update something in the database */ /* Then call any registered OnUpdate handlers */ InvokeOnUpdate(conn); transaction.Commit(); } } The call to InvokeOnUpdate(IDbConnection conn) calls out to an event handler that I can implement and register. Thus, in this handler I will have a reference to the IDbConnection object, but I won't have a reference to the pending transaction. Is there any way in which I can get a hold of the transaction? In my OnUpdate handler I want to execute something similar to the following: private void MyOnUpdateHandler(IDbConnection conn) { var cmd = conn.CreateCommand(); cmd.CommandText = someSQLString; cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); } However, the call to cmd.ExecuteNonQuery() throws an InvalidOperationException complaining that "ExecuteNonQuery requires the command to have a transaction when the connection assigned to the command is in a pending local transaction. The Transaction property of the command has not been initialized". Can I in any way enlist my SqlCommand cmd with the pending transaction? Can I retrieve a reference to the pending transaction from the IDbConnection object (I'd be happy to use reflection if necessary)?

  • use startActivityForResult from non-activity

    - by rayman
    Hi, I have MainActivity which is an Activity and other class(which is a simple java class), we`ll call it "SimpleClass". now i want to run from that class the command startActivityForResult. now i though that i could pass that class(SimpleClass), only MainActivity's context, problem is that, u cant run context.startActivityForResult(...); so the only way making SimpleClass to use 'startActivityForResult; is to pass the reference of MainActivity as an Activity variable to the SimpleClass something like that: inside the MainActivity class i create the instance of SimpleClass this way: SimpleClass simpleClass=new SimpleClass(MainActivity.this); now this is how SimpleClass looks like: public Class SimpleClass { Activity myMainActivity; public SimpleClass(Activity mainActivity) { super(); this.myMainActivity=mainActivity; } .... } public void someMethod(...) { myMainActivity.startActivityForResult(...); } now its working, but isnt a proper way of doing this? I`am afraid i could have some memory leaks in the future. thanks. ray.

  • Email not sent until application closes

    - by Tester101
    I have an application that uses SmtpClient to send E-Mail, but the E-Mails are not sent until the application closes. I have searched and searched to find a solution to the problem, but I am not able to find one. The system does have Symantec anti-virus installed, which could possibly be the problem. Does anybody have a solution to this problem? Here is the code I am using. public class EMail { private string server; public string Server {get{return this.server;}set{this.server = value;}} private string to; public string To {get{return this.to;}set{this.to = value;}} private string from; public string From {get{return this.from;}set{this.from = value;}} private string subject; public string Subject {get{return this.subject;}set{this.subject = value;}} private string body; public string Body {get{return this.body;}set{this.body = value;}} public EMail() {} public EMail(string _server, string _to, string _from, string _subject, string _body) { this.Server = _server; this.To = _to; this.From = _from; this.Subject = _subject; this.Body = _body; } public void Send() { System.Net.Mail.MailMessage message = new System.Net.Mail.MailMessage(this.From, this.To, this.Subject, this.Body); message.IsBodyHtml = true; System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient client = new System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient(this.Server); client.DeliveryMethod = System.Net.Mail.SmtpDeliveryMethod.Network; //I have tried this, but it still does not work. //client.ServicePoint.ConnectionLeaseTimeout = 0; try { client.Send(message); } catch(System.Exception ex) { System.Windows.Forms.MessageBox.Show(ex.ToString()); } message.Dispose(); } }

  • TransactionScope Prematurely Completed

    - by Chris
    I have a block of code that runs within a TransactionScope and within this block of code I make several calls to the DB. Selects, Updates, Creates, and Deletes, the whole gamut. When I execute my delete I execute it using an extension method of the SqlCommand that will automatically resubmit the query if it deadlocks as this query could potentially hit a deadlock. I believe the problem occurs when a deadlock is hit and the function tries to resubmit the query. This is the error I receive: The transaction associated with the current connection has completed but has not been disposed. The transaction must be disposed before the connection can be used to execute SQL statements. This is the simple code that executes the query (all of the code below executes within the using of the TransactionScope): using (sqlCommand.Connection = new SqlConnection(ConnectionStrings.App)) { sqlCommand.Connection.Open(); sqlCommand.ExecuteNonQueryWithDeadlockHandling(); } Here is the extension method that resubmits the deadlocked query: public static class SqlCommandExtender { private const int DEADLOCK_ERROR = 1205; private const int MAXIMUM_DEADLOCK_RETRIES = 5; private const int SLEEP_INCREMENT = 100; public static void ExecuteNonQueryWithDeadlockHandling(this SqlCommand sqlCommand) { int count = 0; SqlException deadlockException = null; do { if (count > 0) Thread.Sleep(count * SLEEP_INCREMENT); deadlockException = ExecuteNonQuery(sqlCommand); count++; } while (deadlockException != null && count < MAXIMUM_DEADLOCK_RETRIES); if (deadlockException != null) throw deadlockException; } private static SqlException ExecuteNonQuery(SqlCommand sqlCommand) { try { sqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery(); } catch (SqlException exception) { if (exception.Number == DEADLOCK_ERROR) return exception; throw; } return null; } } The error occurs on the line that executes the nonquery: sqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery();

  • Hazelcast Distributed Executor Service KeyOwner

    - by János Veres
    I have problem understanding the concept of Hazelcast Distributed Execution. It is said to be able to perform the execution on the owner instance of a specific key. From Documentation: <T> Future<T> submitToKeyOwner(Callable<T> task, Object key) Submits task to owner of the specified key and returns a Future representing that task. Parameters: task - task key - key Returns: a Future representing pending completion of the task I believe that I'm not alone to have a cluster built with multiple maps which might actually use the same key for different purposes, holding different objects (e.g. something along the following setup): IMap<String, ObjectTypeA> firstMap = HazelcastInstance.getMap("firstMap"); IMap<String, ObjectTypeA_AppendixClass> secondMap = HazelcastInstance.getMap("secondMap"); To me it seems quite confusing what documentation says about the owner of a key. My real frustration is that I don't know WHICH - in which map - key does it refer to? The documentation also gives a "demo" of this approach: import com.hazelcast.core.Member; import com.hazelcast.core.Hazelcast; import com.hazelcast.core.IExecutorService; import java.util.concurrent.Callable; import java.util.concurrent.Future; import java.util.Set; import com.hazelcast.config.Config; public void echoOnTheMemberOwningTheKey(String input, Object key) throws Exception { Callable<String> task = new Echo(input); HazelcastInstance hz = Hazelcast.newHazelcastInstance(); IExecutorService executorService = hz.getExecutorService("default"); Future<String> future = executorService.submitToKeyOwner(task, key); String echoResult = future.get(); } Here's a link to the documentation site: Hazelcast MultiHTML Documentation 3.0 - Distributed Execution Did any of you guys figure out in the past what key does it want?

  • Creating spotlight in OpenGL scene

The code that Im using for my #vertex-shader is below: #:vertex-shader #{ #version 150 core in vec3 in_pos; in vec2 in_tc; out vec2 tc; glLightf(GL_LIGHT0, GL_SPOT_CUTOFF, 20.0f); GLfloat spot_direction[] = { -1.0, -1.0, 0.0 }; glLightfv(GL_LIGHT0, GL_SPOT_DIRECTION, spot_direction); glEnable(GL_LIGHT0); void main() { vec4 pos= vec4(vec3(1.0)*in_pos - vec3(1.0), 1.0); pos.z=0.0; gl_Position = pos; tc = in_tc; } } The thing is, everytime Im trying to run the code an Error that says: Type: other, Source: api, ID: 131169, Severity: low Message: Framebuffer detailed info: The driver allocated storage for renderbuffer 1. len = 157, written = 0 failed to compile vertex shader of deferred: directional info log for shader deferred: directional vertex info log for shader deferred: directional: ERROR: Unbound variable: when Specifications: Renderer: GeForce GTX 580/PCIe/SSE2 Version: 3.3.0 NVIDIA 319.17 GLSL: 3.30 NVIDIA via Cg compiler Status: Using GLEW 1.9.0 1024 x 768 OS: Linux debian I guess to create this spotlight is pretty much simple, but since Im really new to OpenGL I dont have a clue how to do it until now, even reading sources like: http://www.glprogramming.com/red/chapter05.html#name3 Read also in some place that light spots can get really hard to understand, but I cant avoid this step right now since Im following my lecture schedule. Could anybody help me?

  • How to adjust size of programatically created Bitmap to match text drawn on it?

    - by TooFat
    I have the following .ashx page that takes some query string parameters and returns a bitmap with the specified text written on it. The problem I have is that I am currently just manually setting the initial size of the bitmap at 100 X 100 when what I really want is to have the bitmap be just big enough to include all the text that was written to it. How can I do this? public void ProcessRequest (HttpContext context) { context.Response.ContentType = "image/png"; string text = context.Request.QueryString["Text"]; //set FontName string fontName; if (context.Request.QueryString["FontName"] != null) { fontName = context.Request.QueryString["FontName"]; } else { fontName = "Arial"; } //Set FontSize int fontEms; if (context.Request.QueryString["FontSize"] != null) { string fontSize = context.Request.QueryString["FontSize"]; fontEms = Int32.Parse(fontSize); } else { fontEms = 12; } //Set Font Color System.Drawing.Color color; if (context.Request.QueryString["FontColor"] != null) { string fontColor = context.Request.QueryString["FontColor"]; color = System.Drawing.ColorTranslator.FromHtml(fontColor); context.Response.Write(color.ToString()); } else { color = System.Drawing.Color.Red; } using (System.Drawing.Text.PrivateFontCollection fnts = new System.Drawing.Text.PrivateFontCollection()) using (System.Drawing.FontFamily fntfam = new System.Drawing.FontFamily(fontName)) using (System.Drawing.SolidBrush brush = new System.Drawing.SolidBrush(color)) using (System.Drawing.Bitmap bmp = new System.Drawing.Bitmap(100, 100)) { using (System.Drawing.Font fnt = new System.Drawing.Font(fntfam, fontEms)) { fnts.AddFontFile(System.IO.Path.Combine(@"C:\Development\Fonts\", fontName)); System.Drawing.Graphics graph = System.Drawing.Graphics.FromImage(bmp); graph.DrawString(text, fnt, brush, new System.Drawing.Point(0, 0)); string imgPath = System.IO.Path.Combine(@"C:\Development\MyPath\Images\Text", System.IO.Path.GetRandomFileName()); bmp.Save(imgPath); context.Response.WriteFile(imgPath); } } }

  • Unable to access Java-created file -- sometimes

    - by BlairHippo
    In Java, I'm working with code running under WinXP that creates a file like this: public synchronized void store(Properties props, byte[] data) { try { File file = filenameBasedOnProperties(props); if ( file.exists() ) { return; } File temp = File.createTempFile("tempfile", null); FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(temp); out.write(data); out.flush(); out.close(); file.getParentFile().mkdirs(); temp.renameTo(file); } catch (IOException ex) { // Complain and whine and stuff } } Sometimes, when a file is created this way, it's just about totally inaccessible from outside the code (though the code responsible for opening and reading the file has no problem), even when the application isn't running. When accessed via Windows Explorer, I can't move, rename, delete, or even open the file. Under Cygwin, I get the following when I ls -l the directory: ls: cannot access [big-honkin-filename] total 0 ?????????? ? ? ? ? ? [big-honkin-filename] As implied, the filenames are big, but under the 260-character max for XP (though they are slightly over 200 characters). To further add to the sense the my computer just wants me to feel stupid, sometimes the files created by this code are perfectly normal. The only pattern I've spotted is that once one file in the directory "locks", the rest are screwed. Anybody ever run into something like this before, or have any insights into what's going on here?

  • What is the fastest collection in c# to implement a prioritizing queue?

    - by Nathan Smith
    I need to implement a queue for messages on a game server so it needs to as fast as possible. The queue will have a maxiumem size. I need to prioritize messages once the queue is full by working backwards and removing a lower priority message (if one exists) before adding the new message. The appliation is asynchronous so access to the queue needs to be locked. I'm currently implementing it using a LinkedList as the underlying storage but have concerns that searching and removing nodes will keep it locked for too long. Heres the basic code I have at the moment: public class ActionQueue { private LinkedList<ClientAction> _actions = new LinkedList<ClientAction>(); private int _maxSize; /// <summary> /// Initializes a new instance of the ActionQueue class. /// </summary> public ActionQueue(int maxSize) { _maxSize = maxSize; } public int Count { get { return _actions.Count; } } public void Enqueue(ClientAction action) { lock (_actions) { if (Count < _maxSize) _actions.AddLast(action); else { LinkedListNode<ClientAction> node = _actions.Last; while (node != null) { if (node.Value.Priority < action.Priority) { _actions.Remove(node); _actions.AddLast(action); break; } } } } } public ClientAction Dequeue() { ClientAction action = null; lock (_actions) { action = _actions.First.Value; _actions.RemoveFirst(); } return action; } }

  • Cocoa-Created PDF Not Rendering Correctly

    I've created a PDF on the iPad, but the problem is when you have a line of text greater than 1 line, the content just goes off the page. This is my code: void CreatePDFFile (CGRect pageRect, const char *filename) { CGContextRef pdfContext; CFStringRef path; CFURLRef url; CFMutableDictionaryRef myDictionary = NULL; path = CFStringCreateWithCString (NULL, filename, kCFStringEncodingUTF8); url = CFURLCreateWithFileSystemPath (NULL, path, kCFURLPOSIXPathStyle, 0); CFRelease (path); myDictionary = CFDictionaryCreateMutable(NULL, 0, &kCFTypeDictionaryKeyCallBacks, &kCFTypeDictionaryValueCallBacks); NSString *foos = @"Title"; const char *text = [foos UTF8String]; CFDictionarySetValue(myDictionary, kCGPDFContextTitle, CFSTR(text)); CFDictionarySetValue(myDictionary, kCGPDFContextCreator, CFSTR("Author")); pdfContext = CGPDFContextCreateWithURL (url, &pageRect, myDictionary); CFRelease(myDictionary); CFRelease(url); CGContextBeginPage (pdfContext, &pageRect); CGContextSelectFont (pdfContext, "Helvetica", 12, kCGEncodingMacRoman); CGContextSetTextDrawingMode (pdfContext, kCGTextFill); CGContextSetRGBFillColor (pdfContext, 0, 0, 0, 1); NSString *body = @"text goes here"; const char *text = [body UTF8String]; CGContextShowTextAtPoint (pdfContext, 30, 750, text, strlen(text)); CGContextEndPage (pdfContext); CGContextRelease (pdfContext);} Now the issue lies within me writing the text to the page, but the problem is that I can't seem to specify a multi-line "text view".

  • Can't block capslock with CGEventTap

    - by Thor Frølich
    I'm using Quartz CGEventTap in an attempt to globally intercept capslock presses and block them (to have them do something useful instead). I succesfully detect capslock presses but have so far been unable to block them. My code (originating from this stackoverflow answer) is something like this: eventTap = CGEventTapCreate(kCGHIDEventTap, kCGTailAppendEventTap, kCGEventTapOptionDefault, eventMask, myCGEventCallback, &oldFlags); runLoopSource = CFMachPortCreateRunLoopSource(kCFAllocatorDefault, eventTap, 0); CFRunLoopAddSource(CFRunLoopGetCurrent(), runLoopSource, kCFRunLoopCommonModes); CGEventTapEnable(eventTap, true); CGEventRef myCGEventCallback(CGEventTapProxy proxy, CGEventType type, CGEventRef theEvent, void *refcon) { CGEventFlags *oldFlags = (CGEventFlags *)refcon; switch (type) { case kCGEventFlagsChanged: { CGEventFlags newFlags = CGEventGetFlags(theEvent); CGEventFlags changedFlags = *oldFlags ^ newFlags; *oldFlags = newFlags; if (changedFlags == 65536) { NSLog(@"Capslock pressed. Let's not return the event"); return NULL; } break; } default: break; } NSLog(@"Different modifier than capslock. Returning the event"); return theEvent; } If I understand correctly returning NULL should effectively block the keypress from propagating. Indeed it also does for "normal" keyup and -down events. However capslock toggles regardless. Any ideas why that is? Am I making incorrect assumptions? And/or how can I do things differently to achieve my goal? Thanks, Thor

So I have this code below that authenticates the request and instantiates my version of a User class. It then tries to get the impersonated user from the Session object but Session is not available in this method in the global.asax. Hope this makes sense. How else could I do this? protected void Application_OnAuthenticateRequest(object sender, EventArgs e) { IMylesterService service = ObjectFactory.GetInstance(); if (Context.User != null) { if (Context.User.Identity.IsAuthenticated) { User user = service.GetUser(Context.User.Identity.Name); if (user == null) throw new ApplicationException("Context.user.Identity.name is not a recognized user"); User impersonatedUser = (User)this.Session["ImpersonatedUser"]; if (impersonatedUser == null) user.ImpersonatedUser = user; else user.ImpersonatedUser = impersonatedUser; System.Threading.Thread.CurrentPrincipal = Context.User = user; return; } } User guest = service.GetGuestUser(); guest.ImpersonatedUser = guest; System.Threading.Thread.CurrentPrincipal = Context.User = guest; }

  • Singleton Issues in iOS http client

    - by Andrew Lauer Barinov
    I implemented an HTTP client is iOS that is meant to be a singleton. It is a subclass of AFNetworking's excellent AFHTTPClient My access method is pretty standard: + (LBHTTPClient*) sharedHTTPClient { static dispatch_once_t once = 0; static LBHTTPClient *sharedHTTPClient = nil; dispatch_once(&once, ^{ sharedHTTPClient = [[LBHTTPClient alloc] initHTTPClient]; }); return sharedHTTPClient; } // my init method - (id) initHTTPClient { self = [super initWithBaseURL:[NSURL URLWithString:kBaseURL]]; if (self) { // Sub class specific initializations } return self; } Super's init method is very long, and can be found here However the problem I experience is when the dispatch_once queue is run, the app locks and become unresponsive. When I step through code, I notice that it locks on dispatch_once and then remains frozen. Is this something to do with the main thread locking down? How come it stays locked like that? Also, none of the HTTP client methods fire. Stepping through the code some more, I find this line in dispatch/once.h is where the app locks down: DISPATCH_INLINE DISPATCH_ALWAYS_INLINE DISPATCH_NONNULL_ALL DISPATCH_NOTHROW void _dispatch_once(dispatch_once_t *predicate, dispatch_block_t block) { if (DISPATCH_EXPECT(*predicate, ~0l) != ~0l) { dispatch_once(predicate, block); // App locks here } }

  • XML Parseing Error when serving a PDF

    - by Andy
    I'm trying to serve a pdf file from a database in ASP.NET using an Http Handler, but every time I go to the page I get an error XML Parsing Error: no element found Location: https://ucc489/rc/NoteFileHandler.ashx?noteId=1,msdsId=3 Line Number 1, Column 1: ^ Here is my HttpHandler code: public class NoteFileHandler : IHttpHandler { public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) { if (context.Request.QueryString.HasKeys()) { if (context.Request.QueryString["noteId"] != null && context.Request.QueryString["msdsId"] != null) { string nId = context.Request.QueryString["noteId"]; string mId = context.Request.QueryString["msdsId"]; DataTable noteFileDt = App_Models.Notes.GetNoteFile(nId, mId); if (noteFileDt.Rows.Count > 0) { try { context.Response.Clear(); context.Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment;filename=" + noteFileDt.Rows[0][0] + ".pdf"); context.Response.ContentType = "application/pdf"; byte[] file = (byte[])noteFileDt.Rows[0][1]; context.Response.BinaryWrite(file); context.Response.End(); } catch { context.Response.ContentType = "text/plain"; context.Response.Write("File Not Found"); context.Response.StatusCode = 404; } } } } } public bool IsReusable { get { return false; } } } Is there anything else I need to do (server configuration/whatever) to get my pdf file to load?

  • Can I programmatically add a linkbutton to gridview?

    - by pschorf
    I've been looking through some similar questions without any luck. What I'd like to do is have a gridview which for certain items shows a linkbutton and for other items shows a hyperlink. This is the code I currently have: public void gv_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow) { var data = (FileDirectoryInfo)e.Row.DataItem; var img = new System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlImage(); if (data.Length == null) { img.Src = "/images/folder.jpg"; var lnk = new LinkButton(); lnk.ID = "lnkFolder"; lnk.Text = data.Name; lnk.Command += new CommandEventHandler(changeFolder_OnCommand); lnk.CommandArgument = data.Name; e.Row.Cells[0].Controls.Add(lnk); } else { var lnk = new HyperLink(); lnk.Text = data.Name; lnk.Target = "_blank"; lnk.NavigateUrl = getLink(data.Name); e.Row.Cells[0].Controls.Add(lnk); img.Src = "/images/file.jpg"; } e.Row.Cells[0].Controls.AddAt(0, img); } } where the first cell is a TemplateField. Currently, everything displays correctly, but the linkbuttons don't raise the Command event handler, and all of the controls disappear on postback. Any ideas?

  • Can't get recursive function to work in Java

    - by Ahmed Salah
    I read docs about java recorsion and I thought I have understood it, but when I try to use it in the following example, it does not work as expected. I a class account, which has amount and can have forther subAccount. I would have implemented one method getSum, which has to return the summ of the amount of the account and amount of all of its subaccount. In the following code, the call of the method getSumm() should return 550, but it behaves strange. can somebody help please? public class Balance{ ArrayList<Balance> subAccounts = new ArrayList<Balance>(); String accountID = null; Double amount = null; double result=0; public double getSum(ArrayList<Balance> subAccounts){ if(subAccounts !=null && subAccounts.size()>0){ for (int i = 0; i < subAccounts.size(); i++) { result = result + getSum(subAccounts.get(i).subAccounts); } } else { return amount; } return result; } public static void main(String[] args) { Balance bs1 = new Balance(); Balance bs2 = new Balance(); Balance bs3 = new Balance(); bs1.amount=100.0; bs2.amount=150.0; bs3.amount=300.0; ArrayList<Balance> subAccounts1 = new ArrayList<Balance>(); bs2.subAccounts=null; bs3.subAccounts=null; subAccounts1.add(bs2); subAccounts1.add(bs3); bs1.subAccounts=subAccounts1; double sum= bs1.getSum(subAccounts1); System.out.println(sum); } }

  • When is onBind or onCreate called in an android service browser plugin?

    - by anselm
    I have adapted the example plugin of the android source and the browser recognises the plugin without any problem. Here is an extract of AndroidManifest.xml: <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name" android:debuggable="true"> <service android:name="com.domain.plugin.PluginService"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.webkit.PLUGIN" /> </intent-filter> </service> </application> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="7" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.webkit.permission.PLUGIN"></uses-permission> The actual Service class looks like so: public class PluginService extends Service { @Override public IBinder onBind(Intent arg0) { Log.d("PluginService", "onBind"); return null; } @Override public void onCreate() { Log.d("PluginService", "onCreate"); // TODO Auto-generated method stub super.onCreate(); AssetInstaller.getInstance(this).installAssets("/data/data/com.domain.plugin"); } } The AssetInstaller code is supposed to extract some files required by the actual plugin into the /data/data/com.domain.plugin directory, however wether onBind nor onCreate are called. But I get lot's of debug trace of the actual libnpplugin.so file I'm using. So the puzzle is when and under what circumstance is the Service bound or created in case of a browser plugin. As things look the service seems to be a dummy service. Having said that, is there another intent that can be executed at installation time probably? The only solution I see right now is installing the needed files from the native plugin code instead. Any ideas? I know this is quite a tricky question ;)
