I need a script to automatically delete the user profile left on ubuntu 9.04, anyone please send me this mail: [email protected] thank you, please indicate how I work not fluent in shellscript.
I was attempting to install an exe that requires a serial number before the install, which the vendor has not provided to us yet.
This got my wheels turning about whether there is any information that can be gained from viewing an exe using a hex editor/VI/etc?
Using VI to view an exe, I can see some sections of plain text, but it is difficult to determine what it refers to without any context around it.
Is it possible to determine any information by reading an exe?
Thanks
In previous Ubuntus when you want to select/change an application to open a specific file (right-click/open with other application or properties) you were able to write a custom command to open the file. This was very useful, but now in 11.10 I can't find this option, it only shows me a list of applications and a button to look for applications in Internet.
Is there a way to restore the command line to write custom commands to open files?
Hi all,
I'm new to mysql. My requirement is to import a sql dump into mysql using shell script for linux and this script should be called by java program for the restoration to take place automatically.
Please advice me on this.

Chandu.
Hey,
I have a simple "live search" (results displayed while typing) web site. This make up is Ajax to PHP querying a pretty large XML document (10,000+ lines). This is all been hosted on a local Apache server (xamp). The scale of the xml document seems to be causing huge performance issue with results taking 10ish seconds to give the results.
I'm very new to PHP (this actually being my first play about) so there below is a snippet of code in case there is something obvious
for($i=0; $i<($foodListXML->length); $i++){
$type=$foodListXML->item($i)->getElementsByTagName('type');
$foodnote=$foodListXML->item($i)->getElementsByTagName('foodnote');
$style=$foodListXML->item($i)->getElementsByTagName('style');
if ($type->item(0)->nodeType==1)
{
//find a link matching the search text
if (stristr($type->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue,$q)){
$currentFoodName = $type->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue;
$currentFoodStyle = $style->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue;
$currentFoodNote = $foodnote->item(0)->childNodes->item(0)->nodeValue;
if ($hint==""){
$hint= $currentFoodName . " , " . $currentFoodNote . " , <b>" . $currentFoodStyle. "</b>" . "<br>" ;
}
else{
$hint=$hint . $currentFoodName . " , " . $currentFoodNote . " , <b>" . $currentFoodStyle. "</b>" . "<br>" ;
}
}
}
}
}
Also if having the data in a DB and accessing that is faster, then I'm open to that.. All ideas really!!
Thanks.
How can you set rate limit access to API using Iptables. Tried to set limit using port 80, but I don't want to set limit to the web access entirely. Is there a way to specified a subdomain rather than port. Example: set rate limit to api.example.com not example.com?
If there is no way to set rate limit by subdomain, what is the suggested rate limit access to port 80 without risking blocking a legitimate web user? One connection per second would be enough?
I am trying to get silverlight smooth streaming going on a site I am bilding and it works fine with the big buck bunny sample code which looks like this:
<object data="data:application/x-silverlight-2," type="application/x-silverlight-2" width="100%" height="100%" id="Object2">
<param name="source" value="SmoothStreamingBlackGlass.xap"/>
<param name="onerror" value="onSilverlightError" />
<param name="initparams"value='autoplay=False,muted=False,stretchmode=0,displaytimecode=False, playlist=<playList><playListItems><playListItem title="Big%20Buck%20Bunny" description="" mediaSource="Big%20Buck%20Bunny.ism/Manifest" adaptiveStreaming="True" thumbSource="Big%20Buck%20Bunny_Thumb.jpg" frameRate="24.0000384000614" ></playListItem></playListItems></playList>' />
<a href="http://go2.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=124807" style="text-decoration: none;"><img src="http://go2.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=108181" alt="Get Microsoft Silverlight" style="border-style: none" /></a>
</object>
<iframe style="visibility:hidden;height:0;width:0;border:0px"></iframe>
but if i change the code like this i only get a blank area when the page is rendered instead of the movie clip.
<object data="data:application/x-silverlight-2," type="application/x-silverlight-2" width="100%" height="100%" id="Object2">
<param name="source" value="SmoothStreamingBlackGlass.xap"/>

Any ideas? I am using Encoder 3 to do the encoding set on microsoft smooth streaming for 720p with all the default settings.
Hi,
How do I make syncdb execute SQL queries (for table creation) defined by me, rather then generating tables automatically.
I'm looking for this solution as some particular models in my app represent SQL-table-views for a legacy-database table.
So, I've created their SQL-views in my django-DB like this:
CREATE VIEW legacy_series AS SELECT * FROM legacy.series;
I have a reverse engineered model that represents the above view/legacytable. But whenever I run syncdb, I have to create all the views first by running sql scripts, otherwise syncdb simply creates tables for them (if a view is not found).
How do I make syncdb run the above mentioned SQL?
In my application_helper.rb file I have a function like this:
def internal_request?
server_name = request.env['SERVER_NAME']
[plus more code...]
end
This function is needed in controllers, model, and views. So, I put this code in a utility function file in the lib/ directory. However, this did not work: I got complaints about request not being defined.
How can I access the request object in a file in the lib/ directory?
I am in the requirements phase of building a JEE application that will most likely run on a GlassFish/JBoss backend (doesn't matter for now). I know I shouldn't be thinking about architecture at requirements time, but one can't help but start to imagine how the components would all snap together :-)
Here are some hard, non-flexible requirements on the client-side:
(1) The client application will be a Swing box
(2) The client is free to download, but will use a subscription model (thus requiring a login mechanism with server-side authentication/authorization, etc.)
(3) Yes, Java is the best platform solution for the problem at hand for reasons outside the scope of this post
(4) The client-side .class files need safeguarding against decompiling
That last (4th) requirement is the basis of this post.
I'm not really worried about someone actually decompiling and getting at my source code: in the end, it's just Swing controls driven by some lightweight business logic.
I'm worried about a scenario where someone decompiles my code, modifies it to exploit/attack the server, re-compiles, and fires it up.
I've envisioned all sorts of nasty solutions, but didn't know if this was a common problem with a common solution for JEE developers. Any thoughts?
Not interested in "code obfuscation" techniques!
Thanks for any input!
I've looked in the page for instrutions on this, tried .out or .output extensions and filenames, but nothing works.. How I am supporte to upload the ouput?
In Windows 2008R2, in Resource Monitor in the Disk Acitivity section I can see the number of bytes read from/written into files. How can I do this in a programatic manner, prefferably using C# (or Win32 API)? I have looked into WMI and various performance counters, however I cannot figure out if there is something which suits my needs.
i have an a href tag.
i want that embed swf (object) tag to a href.
i dont want add event in swf, beacuse a href link is different and create dynamic.
underestand it?
what can i do?
What are some different solutions to wrapping access to functionality within a .NET MVC application?
For example, I have six tabs that represent different areas of the application and within area 1, there is the ability to add, edit, upload, whatever.
I need a central way to say:
Build some dictionary of what the user can do
Wrap tabs, buttons, links, etc, validate the user can access this piece of functionality and show/hide appropriately.
I know I can restrict access to actions via action filters and roles, but what about from the UI?
Any help would be appreciated. I am sure I am not the only one who has needed to do this, thanks!
I pushed a new version of my website, but now the CSS and static images are not deploying properly.
Here is the messed up page: http://www.gaiagps.com
Appengine shows the latest version as being correct though: http://1.latest.gaiagps.appspot.com/
Any help?
Hi StackOverflow, I've spent the past 3 hours trawling the web for answers to no avail, so I hope you can help me. I'm writing an application which automates Excel. The application has an option to "show/hide the excel sheet" so you can look at it, make any final changes and so forth.
Closing the application will naturally close the instance of Excel, however, there is a small chance that someone may exit out of Excel directly, without thinking. This breaks my application and I can't seem to find anyway of "checking if the same workbook is still open, and if not, re-opening it", before saving it
I've tried all sorts of things: checking if the Excel Application is null (when it's !=null it will save correctly, but when it "is" null (or at least, something other than !=null it won't even hit the breakpoint so I'm completely lost :(
Help please?

I'd like to make my app to open a specified PDF by an external app of the user's choice on the iPad. How can I do that? Or, is there any open-source PDF reader framework available so that I can put it into my app?
My situation in more detail:
I'm thinking of porting to the iPad from OS X / rewriting from scratch for the iPad an app which manages lots of PDFs (journal articles, etc.), but I don't want to write the PDF reader part, because there are many good ones already out there; I don't want to reinvent the wheels.
(You might say you shouldn't reinvent pdf management apps, but I'd like to make one as a front end to SPIRES, and there isn't one so far.)
As the app would be a front end to a serious reading activity, UIWebView's pdf capability is not enough.
Also, users of my app would have various preferences which app to use.
That's the background behind my question. Thanks in advance!
Hi
I'm trying to do a route in Rhapsody that transform CSV to ASTM. The problem is when i'm going to test the mapper, appears this error:
unable to parse message. The character encoding may not have been recognised correctly.
I don't know what to do. I hope you can help me.
Thanks for all
I have a UIWebView which loads .rtfd.zip files like this:
-(void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated {
self.title=@"Title";
if(rowPosledovatelnosti==0) {
[self loadFile:@"PosledovatelnostiObzie.rtfd.zip"];
}
if(rowPosledovatelnosti==1) {
[self loadFile:@"Arifmeticheskaya.rtfd.zip"];
}
if(rowPosledovatelnosti==2) {
[self loadFile:@"Svojstva_Arifmeticheskoj.rtfd.zip"];
}
if(rowPosledovatelnosti==3) {
[self loadFile:@"Geometricheskaya.rtfd.zip"];
}
if(rowPosledovatelnosti==4) {
[self loadFile:@"Predel_Posledovatelnosti.rtfd.zip"];
}
if(rowPosledovatelnosti==5) {
[self loadFile:@"Summa_Geometricheskoy.rtfd.zip"];
}
}
But on the device it takes some time for the UIWebView to load the content. Is there any way to optimize the loading time?
I'm working on as small game for class and was wondering what is a easy way to handel level configuration files. Like object placements , names, etc.
I'm new to C# but fluent in Java, Ruby.
so XML? YML? text, serialized objects?
