  • ffmpeg async io?

    - by ronag
Anyone know if ffmpeg does asynchronous file io? That is, the input file is read in a separate thread as to avoid io blocking the processing thread? Basically what I want to figure out is whether or not i need to do calls to "av_read_frame" inside a separate thread (to avoid blocking) or if ffmpeg alrdy handles this issue? How might I figure this out? I've tried downloading the ffmpeg source but haven't been able to find anything useful.

  • Can i get RSpec to generate specs with expect syntax?

    - by papirtiger
When generating specs with : rails g controller Home index A spec is generated with the older object.should syntax require 'spec_helper' describe HomeController do describe "GET 'index'" do it "returns http success" do get 'index' response.should be_success end end end Is it possible to configure the generator to use the expect syntax instead? Desired output: require 'spec_helper' describe HomeController do describe "GET 'index'" do it "returns http success" do get 'index' expect(response).to be_success end end end in config/application.rb: config.generators do |g| g.test_framework :rspec, fixture: true g.fixture_replacement :factory_girl, dir: 'spec/factories' g.view_specs false g.stylesheets = false g.javascripts = false end

  • How to make all controls of a column the same width

    - by ant18
Hi I need to know if there's any way of making all controls of a column the same width, and that all these controls are as wide as the cells that contain them. I added a demo on JSFiddle with the controls I'm using. I tried using size for the input texts and style="width:" for the selects , and even though I managed to make them the same width,(it doesn't seem to work in Chrome) it's kinda difficult , that's why I'd like to know if there is any more straightforward way to do the same thing Any ideas or insights?

  • Javascript to change image form submit button src not working.

    - by james
I'm trying to change the src of an image form submit button using an onclick, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly. Am I missing something? <input class="submit_image" id="my_form_button" onclick="$('my_form_button').src='/images/buttons/submitting.gif'" src="/images/buttons/submit.gif" type="image" /> I've also tried using the same JS on the form tag using onsubmit with no luck.

  • How to "grep" out specific line ranges of a file

    - by Mike
There are often times I'll grep -l whatev file to find what I'm looking for. Say the output is 1234: whatev 1 5555: whatev 2 6643: whatev 3 If I want to then just extract the lines between 1234 and 5555, is there a tool to do that? For static files I have a script that does wc -l of the file and then does the math to split it out with tail & head but that doesn't work out so well with log files that are constantly being written to.

  • Why is ColdFusion adding whitespace when I call a function in cfoutput?

    - by Kip
If I do something like this in ColdFusion: <cfoutput>foo="#foo()#"</cfoutput> The resulting HTML has a space in front of it: foo=" BAR" However, if it is not a function call it works fine, i.e.: <cfset fooOut=foo() /> <cfoutput>foo="#fooOut#"</cfoutput> Gives this output: foo="BAR" Where is this extra space coming from and is there anything I can do about it?

  • How do I call a Asp.Net textbox in CSS?

    - by mw
I hope this isn't too difficult, obviously you can call HTML tags such as fieldset, label and legends and also textboxes. However how does one call an asp:textbox, i have tried just textbox, asp:textbox, input.textbox but nothing seems to work. This is something that should be really straight forward to do and I can't waste any more time figuring it out. Thanks.

  • At What point should you understand pointers?

    - by Vaccano
I asked a question like this in an interview for a entry level programmer: var instance1 = new myObject{Value = "hello"} var instance2 = instance1; instance1.Value = "bye"; Console.WriteLine(instance1.Value); Console.WriteLine(instance2.Value); The applicant responded with "hello", "bye" as the output. Some of my co-workers said that pointers are not that important anymore or that this question is not a real judge of ability. Are they right?

  • String Array and ConvertTo-HTML

    - by Taylor Gibb
I cant for the life of me get the contents of a string array (well its not strictly typed but all the items in the array are strings) to become a table, i am trying to use ConvertTo-HTML. For example: $arr = @("One", "Two") $arr | ConvertTo-HTML I have tried -As List, using fragments, even using InputObject, is it even possible ? Edit: i simply want to know if there is anyway to use an array as the input for the ConvertTo-HTML cmdlet, all it does is make a table with the length property of the strings.

  • Perl, "closure" using Hash

    - by Mike
I would like to have a subroutine as a member of a hash which is able to have access to other hash members. For example sub setup { %a = ( txt => "hello world", print_hello => sub { print ${txt}; }) return %a } my %obj = setup(); $obj{print_hello}; Ideally this would output "hello world"

  • Why closed contours are guaranteed here?

    - by user198729
Quoted from here: BW = edge(I,'zerocross',thresh,h) specifies the zero-cross method, using the filter h. thresh is the sensitivity threshold; if the argument is empty ([]), edge chooses the sensitivity threshold automatically. If you specify a threshold of 0, the output image has closed contours, because it includes all the zero crossings in the input image. I don't understand it,can someone elaborate?

  • Why does string::find return size_type and not an iterator?

    - by dehmann
In C++, why does string::find return size_type and not an iterator? It would make sense because functions like string::replace or string::insert take iterators as input, so you could find some character and immediately pass the returned iterator to replace, etc. Also, std::find returns an iterator -- why is std::string::find different?

  • DisplayFor ignores metadata

    - by Juvaly
For my Contact class, the property EmailAddress is marked with the [DataType(DataType.EmailAddress)] attribute. In my view, using Html.Display("EmailAddress") and Html.DisplayFor(c => c.EmailAddress) yields different results. The former outputs a mailto: link, which is the expected behavior, while the latter simply outputs the email address as plain text. My question is why the different behavior, I expected these two methods to have the same output.

  • regex help using repreated groups

    - by Chris H
I'm trying to match rc-update -s output in python. m = re.match(r"^\s*(\w+)\s*\|{\s*(\w+)\s*}*$", " network | level1 level2 leveln ") but m is always None the hard part for me is getting the regex to match the n levels. I thought that using {}* would match the n levels, but as soon as I add the {} nothing matches. thanks.
