  Simple Question: How do I grab the MAC address of the active Ethernet connection in a bash script? I currently have: set - `/sbin/ifconfig eth0 | head -1` MAC=$5 Which outputs the MAC address of the eth0, but if it's eth1 that's active, I want that instead. Could I beforehand execute ifconfig | grep inet but that wouldn't tell me which interface is active, just that one is active. I need to grab the line above it to tell me which one is the active connection. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

  I have a submenu that has all items linked to the same node, but with different additional parameters, for ex: ... <li...><a href = "/?q=page1&filter=10" class = "... active">Item1</a></li> <li...><a href = "/?q=page1&filter=11" class = "... active">Item2</a></li> ... in this case all items have class 'active' and none of them has class 'active-trail'. • How to get httrack to work with SSL on mac os x? (libssl.so not found)

  I'm trying to use httrack website copier but the program is running and reporting "no-ssl" (ie: it does not have the capability to copy secure sites). From looking over this thread, it seems that the problem is either when I make & configure the program, or when I run the program, it is not finding the lib-ssl / open-ssl that I have installed. I think it is looking for /var/root/lib/libssl.so.1.0 The user on that forum states that he created a symlink which allowed httrack to find the ssl library in the non-default location. Perhaps that's what I need to do - but where do I create the link from and to? I'm not seeing that I have any libssl.so files installed on my system. Do I need the development package? If so, how do I install that? I used macports to install the current version of openssl that I have. I'm running OS X 10.6. • get local groups and not the primary groups for a domain user

• Asp.net MVC and MOSS 2010 integration

  Just a sidenote: I'm not sure whether I should post this to serverfault as well, because some MOSS admin may have some info for me as well? A bit of explanation first (without Asp.net MVC) Is it possible to integrate the two? Is it possible to write an application that would share at least credential information with MOSS? I have to write a MOSS application that has to do with these technologies: MOSS 2010 Personal client certificates authentication (most probably on USB keys) Active Directory Federation Services Separate SQL DB that would serve application specific data (separate as not being part of MOSS DB) How should it work? Users should authenticate using personal certificates into MOSS 2010 There would be a certain part of MOSS that would be related to my custom application This application should only authorize certain users via AD FS - I guess these users should have a certain security claim attached to them This application should manage users (that have access to this app) with additional (app specific) security claims related to this application (as additional application level authorization rights for individual application parts) This application should use custom SQL 2008 DB heavily with its own data This application should have the possibility to integrate with external systems as well (Exchange for instance to inject calendar entries, ERP systems etc) This application should be able to export its data (from its DB) to files. I don't know if it's possible, but it would be nice if the app could add these files to MOSS and attach authorization info to them so only users with sufficient rights would be able to view/open these files. Why Asp.net MVC then? I'm very well versed in Asp.net MVC (also with the latest version) and I haven't done anything on Sharepoint since version 2003 (which doesn't do me no good or prepare me for the latest version in any way shape or form). This project will most probably be a death march project so I would rather write my application as a UI rich Asp.net MVC application and somehow integrate it into MOSS. But not only via a link, because I would like to at least share credentials, so users wouldn't need to re-login when accessing my app. Using Asp.net MVC I would at least have the possibility to finish on time or be less death marching. Is this at all possible? Questions Is it possible to integrate Asp.net MVC into MOSS as described above? If integration is not possible, would it be possible to create a completely MOSS based application that would work as described? Which parts of MOSS 2010 should I use to accomplish what I need?

Obligatory features: User creates new OUs manually; User creates new group manually; User creates new user (these users are services accounts) manually; Application reads an XML file which contains the OUs, groups and users to create; Application informs the user about the OUs, groups and users that shall be created; User specifies the domain environment where to migrate the XML input file designated objects; User makes changes if needed, and launches the task operations; Application performs required by the XML input file operations against the underlying AD as specified by the user; Application informs the user upon completion. Linear features: User fetches OUs, groups, users; User changes OUs, groups, users; User deletes OUs, groups, users; The application logs AD entries and operations performed, plus errors and exceptions; Nice-to-have features: Application rollbacks operations on error or exception.   I've recently moved to Apache2 / mod_fcgid / PHP from nginx / php_fpm. This is the second server on which I've made this migration, but it's used much less frequently than the first, which is working like a charm. The problem is in the PHP processes that it's spawning. In looking at the mod_fcgid documentation, it appears that the default for killing idle processes is 300 seconds; I've changed that to 20. At this point, I'd be fine if 300 would work - but it's not happening. • Asp.net MVC/Silverlight and Sharepoint 2010 integration

  Just a sidenote: I'm not sure whether I should post this to serverfault as well, because some MOSS admin may have some info for me as well? Additional note 1: I've found this document (Asp.net MVC 2 & Sharepoint integration) if anybody with sufficient expirience is willing to comment on its content whether this can be used in my described scenario or not. Additional note 2: I've discovered (later) that Silverlight is supported in Sharepoint 2010 so I'm considering it as well. So if anyone would comment on silverlight integration as well. A bit of explanation first (without Asp.net MVC/Silverlight) Is it possible to integrate the two? Is it possible to write an application that would share at least credential information with MOSS? I have to write a MOSS application that has to do with these technologies: MOSS 2010 Personal client certificates authentication (most probably on USB keys) Active Directory Federation Services Separate SQL DB that would serve application specific data (separate as not being part of MOSS DB) How should it work? Users should authenticate using personal certificates into MOSS 2010 There would be a certain part of MOSS that would be related to my custom application This application should only authorize certain users via AD FS - I guess these users should have a certain security claim attached to them This application should manage users (that have access to this app) with additional (app specific) security claims related to this application (as additional application level authorization rights for individual application parts) This application should use custom SQL 2008 DB heavily with its own data This application should have the possibility to integrate with external systems as well (Exchange for instance to inject calendar entries, ERP systems etc) This application should be able to export its data (from its DB) to files. I don't know if it's possible, but it would be nice if the app could add these files to MOSS and attach authorization info to them so only users with sufficient rights would be able to view/open these files. Why Asp.net MVC/Silverlight then? I'm very well versed in Asp.net MVC (also with the latest version) and I haven't done anything on Sharepoint since version 2003 (which doesn't do me no good or prepare me for the latest version in any way shape or form). This project will most probably be a death march project so I would rather write my application as a UI rich Asp.net MVC application and somehow integrate it into MOSS. But not only via a link, because I would like to at least share credentials, so users wouldn't need to re-login when accessing my app. Using Asp.net MVC I would at least have the possibility to finish on time or be less death marching. Is this at all possible? I haven't done any serious project using SIlverlight, but I will sooner or later have to. So I'm also considering a jump into it at this moment, because it still might make this application development easier than strict Sharepoint 2010. Questions Is it possible to integrate Asp.net MVC/Silverlight into MOSS as described above? If integration is not possible, would it be possible to create a completely MOSS based application that would work as described? Which parts of MOSS 2010 should I use to accomplish what I need?

Focus is the focus style when nothing is typed. Active-on is the focus style when something has been typed. Active-off is for field that have user text in them, but are not focused right now. • WD MBWE II (White Strip Light) 2TB - unable to access data

  I have a WD MBWE II (White Strip Light) 2TB - (WD20000H2NC-00) Was working fine until a few days ago. I guess there was a power failure and after that I am unable to access the 'Public' or the 'Download' folder anymore. I have been searching for answers everywhere but came up empty handed. Web GUI still works, SSH works. I hooked up both the drives on my PC and UFS Explorer sees the drive. But so far I am unable to retrieve any of my data. I do not remember what RAID setting I used when I first got the drive. I can see from GUI that it is set as "Stripe". The drive contains 10 years of family pictures which I really do not want to loose. Sadly and stupidly, I didn't even keep a backup of this drive. Can somebody please help or point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance for your help. Disk Utility on Ubuntu reports 1405 bad sectors on one drive. How can I retrieve my data? Please help.   Here is what I am trying to achieve: I have a nested OU structure that is about 5 levels deep. OU=Portal,OU=Dev,OU=Apps,OU=Grps,OU=Admin,DC=test,DC=com I am trying to find out if the user has permissions/exists at OU=Portal. Here's a snippet of what I currently have: PrincipalContext domain = new PrincipalContext( ContextType.Domain, "test.com", "OU=Portal,OU=Dev,OU=Apps,OU=Grps,OU=Admin,DC=test,DC=com"); UserPrincipal user = UserPrincipal.FindByIdentity(domain, myusername); PrincipalSearchResult<Principal> group = user.GetAuthorizationGroups(); For some unknown reason, the value user generated from the above code is always null. However, if I were to drop all the OU as follows: PrincipalContext domain = new PrincipalContext( ContextType.Domain, "test.com", "DC=test,DC=com"); UserPrincipal user = UserPrincipal.FindByIdentity(domain, myusername); PrincipalSearchResult<Principal> group = user.GetAuthorizationGroups(); this would work just fine and return me the correct user. I am simply trying to reduce the number of results as opposed to getting everything from AD. Is there anything that I am doing wrong? • Invalid or expired security context token in WCF web service

  All, I have a WCF web service (let's called service "B") hosted under IIS using a service account (VM, Windows 2003 SP2). The service exposes an endpoint that use WSHttpBinding with the default values except for maxReceivedMessageSize, maxBufferPoolSize, maxBufferSize and some of the time outs that have been increased. The web service has been load tested using Visual Studio Load Test framework with around 800 concurrent users and successfully passed all tests with no exceptions being thrown. The proxy in the unit test has been created from configuration. There is a sharepoint application that use the Office Sharepoint Server Search service to call web services "A" and "B". The application will get data from service "A" to create a request that will be sent to service "B". The response coming from service "B" is indexed for search. The proxy is created programmatically using the ChannelFactory. When service "A" takes less than 10 minutes, the calls to service "B" are successfull. But when service "A" takes more time (~20 minutes) the calls to service "B" throw the following exception: Exception Message: An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received from the other party. See the inner FaultException for the fault code and detail Inner Exception Message: The message could not be processed. This is most likely because the action 'namespace/OperationName' is incorrect or because the message contains an invalid or expired security context token or because there is a mismatch between bindings. The security context token would be invalid if the service aborted the channel due to inactivity. To prevent the service from aborting idle sessions prematurely increase the Receive timeout on the service endpoint's binding. The binding settings are the same, the time in both client server and web service server are synchronize with the Windows Time service, same time zone. When i look at the server where web service "B" is hosted i can see the following security errors being logged: Source: Security Category: Logon/Logoff Event ID: 537 User NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Logon Failure: Reason: An error occurred during logon Logon Type: 3 Logon Process: Kerberos Authentication Package: Kerberos Status code: 0xC000006D Substatus code: 0xC0000133 After reading some of the blogs online, the Status code means STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE and the substatus code means STATUS_TIME_DIFFERENCE_AT_DC. but i already checked both server and client clocks and they are syncronized. I also noticed that the security token seems to be cached somewhere in the client server because they have another process that calls the web service "B" using the same service account and successfully gets data the first time is called. Then they start the proccess to update the office sharepoint server search service indexes and it fails. Then if they called the first proccess again it will fail too. Has anyone experienced this type of problems or have any ideas? Regards, --Damian

  If I have an externally hosted application (www.outside.com) outside the firewall but users within a company wanted to be able to enable LDAP authentication against their local (behind the firewall) AD server (acting as LDAP) or other LDAP server (call it ldap.inside.com), how would this be done. It seems technically possible in that when a user tried to login to outside.com through a client-side silverlight interface, that the SL app could connect to the outside.com login service and be told to authenticate that user against ldap.inside.com. The SL app would make the calls to ldap.inside.com to authenticate the user. Of course, there is the issue of how the server is notified securely that the client authenticated itself...Has anyone done this?
