• How can we connect TP-link Access Point- TL-WA5210G with Wifi Lan card?

  I would like to know that, We have a small Wireless Network that covers 40 mtrs indoor. Now we plan to expand our Network Coverage area apporx. 200 Mtrs (Outdoor). Due to our requirement we used TP- Link Access Point TL-WA5210G Outdoor(This AP covers 15Km area). We have 3 blocks between 200 mtrs, We like to connect all the laptops Lan Card directly with required Access-point. What should we do to achieve this, right now we are not getting the full strength signal, when we cross the 80 mtrs.   Hi, We have purchased an unmanaged VPS windows hosting solution from one of the UK based companies. We have Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition. We need to install certain third party applications on that server. Unfortunatelly, one of the applications requires a MAC address to be present at all times - this is their way of making sure that software is not pirated (which it isn't). We have tried installing a virtual loopback network card, but this has brought the server down - i.e. we couldn't connect using remote desktop any longer. At the moment we are limited with what we can try. This is an unmanaged solution, therefore any support including restarts is rather costly. Are you aware of any low-risk solutions? Thank you

  I have a PCMCIA (Cardbus) 32bit USB 2.0 2-port card. If I plug my MP3 player in it works fine. I have a USB adapter for a hard disk drive. When I plug that into the PCMCIA USB slot the light on that hard disk flashed between red and green - it should stay green. "USB Mass Storage device" is added in the Device Manager, but no drive letter appears in My Computer. The installing device icon down by the clock never goes away. (Windows XP SP3.)

• Client PC not booting when certain TFT plugged in - TFT or graphics card failure?

  here comes something quite strange: On a client machine (DELL Vostro 420) we experienced problems when booting: when turning on the machine beeps normal but doesn't display anything and doesn't boot. After some testing I found out, that this only happens if one (of the two) monitors (Iiyama ProLite E2472HDD) is plugged in while booting. If the other monitor (TFT 2) is plugged in everything is fine. Here a small illustration, TFT 1 is the bad guy: TFT 1 | TFT 2 | failure x | x | x x | | x | x | After BIOS-Phase I can safely plug in TFT 1 and everything works just fine. The question is, what can be done to avoide this behavior: Change monitor? (Iiyama ProLite E2472HDD) Change graphics card? (GeForce 9800 GT) Other suggestions?

  I've finally managed to set up my two ATI Radeon 6950 video cards in my machine, but the cards can get quite hot. Based on the arrangement of my apartment, I want to be able to SSH into the machine an execute a command to find out the temperature. What I have tried so far is this... export DISPLAY=:0.0 sudo aticonfig --adapter=0 --od-gettemperature However, when I do that via SSH, I get the following error: ERROR - X needs to be running to perform ATI Overdrive(TM) commands If I turn on X forwarding when I remote into the machine, then it just seems to affect my local machine instead of the remote machine. Am I doing this correctly? Is there a better way to monitor my video card's temperature?

• Can you use a DVI-VGA Adapter on a monitor instead of a video card?

  I suspect the answer to this is "no", but here goes: I have a monitor with inputs for DVI and VGA. I want to be able to share this display with two computers (one at a time, of course) that both have VGA only. I also have a DVI-VGA dongle that came with a video card that's in a different computer. Can I connect this dongle directly to the DVI port on the monitor so that I can connect both VGA computers? I'd rather not resort to a kvm.

  I'm looking for a solution to this problem: When I'm working at my computer, sometimes I'll be using noise-isolation headphones connected to a source other than my computer (e.g., an iPod). I would like to see (this is what I mean by "visualize") some kind of notification on my screen, since I will not be able to hear the sound. Is there any software out there that would accomplish this? I'm interested in seeing any sounds that would normally come out of th sound card. This is for Windows (XP), but I'd be interested in hearing solutions for other flavors, and OS X, as well.

A popular dilema (especially with apple macbooks) is whether to spend more for a faster cpu and graphics card but settle for standard ram and hd OR drop down and spend the savings on more ram and a faster harddrive such as a ssd. Im wondering for web development i.e. ide, unit tests, photoshop work and some user testing screen capturing now and again what would provide better performance. ( No games, music production or spielberg standard video editing.) For examples sake the current apple lineup for their 15inch macbookpros. 2.66 cpu i7 4gb ram 5400rpm drive 4gig ram vs 2.4 cpu i5 8gb ram 124gb sdd roughly the same price.

  I'm writing a card game in AS3. The artist I'm working with has produced (in Flash CS4) a single swf-file containing all the card graphics and animations. The structure of the fla working file looks something like this: - Scene - CardGraphics (Movie Clip) - CardFront - CardBack - CardValueImage (Movie Clip) ... In the program I create 52 instances of my Card class, each having a MovieClip instance created from the loaded swf. The idea is to set the frame of the CardValueImage MovieClip to correspond to the Card instance's suit and rank member variables. However, I can't figure out how I access CardValueImage and call gotoAndStop (or whatever method I will need to call).   Hi, I'm having some fun learning about the haskell IO. However in my recent exploration of it I have encountered some problems with IO not executing in order, even inside a do construct. In the following code I am just keeping track of what cards are left, where the card is a tuple of chars (one for suit and one for value) then the user is continously asked for wich cards have been played. But I also want to get event, when my data connect actually connects to out side world. • C# powershell output reader iterator getting modified when pipeline closed and disposed.

  Hello, I'm calling a powershell script from C#. The script is pretty small and is "gps;$host.SetShouldExit(9)", which list process, and then send back an exit code to be captured by the PSHost object. The problem I have is when the pipeline has been stopped and disposed, the output reader PSHost collection still seems to be written to, and is filling up. So when I try and copy it to my own output object, it craps out with a OutOfMemoryException when I try to iterate over it. Sometimes it will except with a Collection was modified message. • Two network cards in one Windows 7 PC

  Hi, I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. On Vista I used to run one network card (Intel 82566DC -2 Gigabit) for my internet which was connected to a Dovado USB mobile broadband router connected to a 3G modem. The IP setup on the card is set on DHCP. The second card (3com Ethernet link) was used to connect to our town's local WUG (wireless user group) and all worked fine. Now the problem I have with Windows 7 is that when I connect to the internet with the (Intel) first card, the internet work fine but as soon as I connect the second card to the wug my internet drops. If I then disconnect the first card (internet one) and try to connect to the wug it works. It seems that the two cards are fighting each other. Is there maybe something I can do to fix the problem? As you probably can gather from this post is that I am not an expert on PC's so please if you do answer do I in simple terms. :) Thanks, Martin

  Hi, I'm setting up a little thing for connection pooling and on of the more common bugs that we have occur(its always an easy fix, but we just can't remember reader.Close()!) it is when we have a connection that is used by a lot of classes/methods and one method opens a data reader and forgets to close it. This isn't really bad cause a lot of times all you have to do is go into the debugger and go up one level and see the function before it was and check if it had an unclosed data reader. Now, here is the bigger problem. In this connection pool, if a datareader is open, then it's not known until a thread gets a connection and tries to use it and the thing that originally opened the data reader may no longer even be alive. So quite simply, how can you detect if a data reader is open on a connection and is there a way to close the reader without closing the connection?

• Experience with AMCC 3ware 9650se raid cards? Ours seems dead

  We have a 8-port 3ware 9650se raid card for our main disk array. We had to bring the server down for a pending power outage, and when we turned the machine back on, the raid card never started. This card has been in service for a couple years without problems, and was working up until the shutdown. Now, when we turn the machine on, the bios option rom that normally kicks in before the bootloader doesn't show up, none of the drives start, and when the OS tries to access the device, it just times out. The firmware on it has been upgraded in the past, so it's possible we've hit some sort of firmware bug. We're using it in a Silicon Mechanics R272 machine with gentoo for the OS. The OS eventually boots, but alas, without the card. We've ordered a new one, but I'm worried that if we replace the card it won't recognize the existing array. Has anybody performed a card swap before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Accessing through VPN, which internet connection would be used

  I've a data card which has a limit of 2 GB up/download traffic per month. I've an office internet line which has an unlimited up/download. I've successfully connected to VPN using my data card and by changing certain configurations like DNS etc., have also been able to use my office line for internet (verified by doing a IP check - returns the static IP of our office). Now to my question - is it just a NAT which is happening or am I actually using my office line for all communication. Which one would reflect the usage/trace. The data card usage log at this moment does not reflect any usage (which is confusing since the VPN is over the data card connection). Further more (theoretically), would the net be any faster if my office line is let us say 8Mbps and the data card is 512kbps by doing this as against directly connecting the internet using the data card.

Use 'ignore' to discard the result of the expression, or 'let' to bind the result to a name. So what is the best way to iterate over a DataReader and create a list?

Some nodes will be good XML and will go into an XElement, however, some will not. In the CATCH, I'd like to now only catch the standard XmlException stuff... I'd also like to catch an extract of the current Xml and a string. However, if I do any kind of READ operation on the node before I pass it to the XElement, it moves the reader forward. How can get a "snapshot" of the contents of the OuterXml of the reader without interfering with it's position?

  concerning How do I get a Ralink RT3060 wireless card working? I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 with a 'LWPX07 Edimax EW-7711In 150M 1T1R WL PCI Card' which has a rt3060 chip. Out of the box the card is recognized as rt2800sta. I tried solution one, that didn't work. Still the card connects to the wireless network, but it seems to slow to load any pages. Then I tried solution 2, but then the network-manager doesn't see any wireless device. $ iwconfig lo no wireless extensions. ra0 Ralink STA Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0 Rx invalid nwid:0 invalid crypt:0 invalid misc:0 eth0 no wireless extensions. $ lsmod Module Size Used by rt3562sta 882296 0 $ lspci -v 05:02.0 Network controller: Ralink corp. That is the problem with the solution describe above.

• Why does ATI 5570 HD video card driver installation cause Windows 7 To Blue Screen?

  This one is for the hive mind. I have a brand new Dell Optiplex 760 workstation with 4 gigabytes of RAM running Windows 7 Professional (32bit). This is a new box with nothing installed other than what was provided for directly by Dell. I installed a Saphire ATI PCI Express 5570 HD. Upon trying to install the 10.4 Catalyst drivers the system will blue screen. It blue screens during the hardware detection phase of the installation process. I have already performed the following trouble shooting steps: Changed system RAM Installed only 2 gigabytes of RAM Installed different versions of Catalyst drivers (10.4 - 9.12) Tried to install video only component of driver (vs entire Catalyst suite) Made sure Windows 7 was fully updated Flashed mother board BIOS to current version Removed and re-seated video card Contacted ATI Support (We all know how this went......) Verified supply outputting properly The blue screen error (via Windows BugCheck entry in event log) is a 0x000000CA and refers to a plug and play error most likely caused by a bad driver. The problem is that the driver installation process never gets far enough to actually install a driver. The resolution center in Windows provides a solution of installing the 10.4 Catalyst driver to resolve issue (which fails). Looking for some alternate views to resolve.
