• Cross domain XMLHttpRequest in classic ASP

  My code is working fine till i migrate it to another server with firewall. After since, some part of my code is not working. Its seem to be the xmlhttp POST problem. Can someone point me to the right direction and how to determine if the firewall is the problem. My client insisted to me to use classic asp, so i cannot upgrade to .net.   When I listen to a YouTube video fullscreen in landscape on my Galaxy Nexus, the navigation bar on the right disapear after a few seconds (the bar which contains the "back", "home" and "recent apps" buttons ). I want to do the same thing when a user watch a video in my app. What is the code to hide the navigation bar? [UPDATE] Here is the bar I want to hide. Not the title bar, nor the action bar. The navigation bar. (the bar which contains the "back", "home" and "recent apps" buttons ). I also don't want to "dim" the buttons. I'm looking into removing the bar entirely (like the YouTube app does when you plan a video fullscreen in landscape mode)

  OK, I've probably misunderstood something here but, as far as I can see ... An extension method has to be contained in a module, not a class You can't make methods in modules Static/Shared Therefore you can't use an extension method on a class without instantiating it. In other words you can't make an extension method on String called "MyExtensionMethod" and use: String.MyExtensionMethod("String") But instead .. Dim test As String test.MyExtensionMethod("string") Is this correct? Or is there a way I can get extension methods to work as static methods?

MS-Access DB. i do: INSERT INTO Orders (userId) VALUES (123)" what i want to retrieve is orderNumber from that row. its an auto-increment number. so i did: SELECT orderNumber FROM Orders WHERE userId=123 but since it is on the same page, the SELECT returns: Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted.   I've been asked to resolve an issue with a .Net/SqlServerCe application. Specifically, after repeated inserts against the db, performance becomes increasingly degraded. In one instance at ~200 rows, in another at ~1000 rows. • Bitmap manipulation as a referenced object

  I am working with a Bitmap object that I add annotations or copyright material to the image and then return the modified bitmap. My problem is that the Bitmap won't hold the changes made to it as it moves along the chain. I am treating it as a reference type and would assume that as it gets passed to each class it would carry the changes made to it. I have verified that the code inside of the MarkImage() classes does function, but which ever one gets called last is the one that has changes.   I've got a data frame with far too many rows to be able to do a spatial correlogram. Instead, I want to grab 40 rows for each species and run my correlogram on that subset. I wrote a function to subset a data frame as follows: samp <- function(dataf) { dataf[sample(1:dim(dataf)[1], size=40, replace=FALSE),] } Now I want to apply this function to each species in a larger data frame. When I try something like culled_data = ddply (larger_data, .(species), subset, samp) I get this error: Error in subset.data.frame(piece, ...) : 'subset' must evaluate to logical Anyone got ideas on how to do this?

• Switching between multiple reports (.rdlc) in a single report viewer

  I have 2 reports, "report1.rdlc" and "report2.rdlc" and I want to be able to swap betweent the 2 of them in a single report viewer ("rv_1"). The return type on my function is GenericCollection (Of CustomerDetails) If I do this: Dim dataset As DataSet = Read(strSQL.ToString) 'Gets Data from DB What's the most efficient way to map the dataset results to an collection of objects. More importantly, since I'm using GenericCollection, is there a way to do this in which I can call a function from the ObjectType class (CustomerDetails) that would have a means to converting that specific object. Or is there a way in which I can use a function that would handle all types? Is there a way to do something like: Return returnedResults.TransformDataSet(dataset) In which returnedResults is an object collection Of CustomerDetails, or would it simply be easier to have TransformDataSet return an object collection Of CustomerDetails by itself? • Concatenation yields error with underscore

  I am trying to create a macro that brings in the name of the sheet and combine it with text. For example, for sheet one, I want it to say "ThisIs_Sheet1_Test" in I5 of Sheet1. There are several sheets but it should work for all of them. What is wrong with my code? I think the underscore might be ruining it all.   I'm working on a feature that needs to send two text messages with a 30 second delay, and it is crucial that both text messages are sent. Currently, this feature is built with ajax requests, that are sent with a 30 second javascript delay, but since this requires the user to have his browser open and left on the same page for at least 30 seconds, it is not a method I like. Instead, I have tried to solve this with threading. However, I only get the first text message delivered - the second is never sent. Am I doing something wrong here? I have no deep understanding of how threading works in ASP.NET, so please let me know how to accomplish this.

Any suggestion..........
