  • WPF - Translate a point relative to MainWindow to it's coordinates relative to a child control

    Is it possible to translate a point relative to MainWindow to be relative to one of its child controls? For example, say a control's upper left corner was located at 500, 500 relative to MainWindow what code would convert that number to (0, 0)? I'd like the solution to be agnostic of the layout mechanism (i.e. not require me to parent the control in a Canvas and use the Top and Bottom methods).

    Hi Im looking for a control like the DataForm which is new in Silverlight 3 for handling the whole binding and validation logic (declarativly with property attributes etc) for WPF. I always thout of SL as a subset of WPF but there seems to bee no DataForm control, at least not in the System.Windows.Controls namespace like in SL (I know SL uses another CLR) Have i overlooked something?   • Custom Control Not Playing Nice With PropertyGrid

    I have a class that is implementing a custom ToolStripItem. Everything seems to work great until I try to add the item to a ContextMenuStrip at design time. If I try to add my custom control straight from the ContextMenuStrip the PropertyGrid freezes up and will not let me modify my Checked or Text properties. But if I go into the ContextMenuStrip PropertyGrid and add my custom control through the Items(...) property, I can modify the custom control just fine within that dialog. I'm not sure if I'm missing an attribute somewhere of if its a problem with the underlying code. Here is a copy of the CustomToolStripItem class. As you can see, its a very simple class. I see that elem has an onclick property, but it's type is dynamic so I don't know what to do with it. The documentation is pretty useless.

Anyways, my question is whether there is a property on the WPF ListBox control which I can set that will automatically display the full text of a truncated list item into a Hint Tip? For example, with some WinForm list-container controls, the Hint Tip only appears when the mouse is hovered over a list item that is truncated.

  • Good alternative to .net DateTimePicker?

    I can't really explain why exactly, but I really hate the .net DateTimePicker control built into C#.net and VB.net. Is anyone aware of a good alternative to either of these controls which is freely available? I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't like the control. The date picker in Google Calendar is one which I really like, so I'd love something like that which I can use in a .net app.

    Hi there, does anyone know if its possible to restyle a window in wpf. Or even better any tutorials or samples? Basically i would like to change the minimize and maximize buttons - oh and the close button to be slightly bigger.... I have expression blend.... Is this possible? I saw some samples in infragistics sample apps which have some great looking forms and as far as i can tell it doesn't use any custom wpf controls... Any ideas really appreciated

    Hello I built a webusercontrol in asp.net which contains a databound dropdown. When I directly put this control into a webform it runs well. But if I try to add this control as childcontrol to another control at runtime Childcontrol childcontrol = new Childcontrol (); maincontrol.controls.add(childcontrol) , the dropdown of the childcontrol is not instatiated (is null) so that I run in an exception by trying to bind the data to the dropdown.

  • Silverlight control locked in runtime

    I have a online survey running in Silverlight. Out of more than 1000 onetime users, there are three users than cannot open a combobox on the first page. The control seems disabled and don't react on mouseclick. Since it is one-time user, they don't wan't to help me with debugging and I cannot reproduce the problem myself. Any ideas why 1000 users have no problem, and 3 are experiencing all controls like they were disabled?

This custom control has a button named "retweet", when some user clicks this "retweet" button, i need to send some message to the main application.
