  • adding or routing additional domain email addresses

    We have exchange 2007 and we bought a new domain name and we're still keeping the old one so that we can wean everyone off of the old emails. Now, I'm wondering how to go about this. I need to add the new domain as accepted and authoritative by the exchange server. Emails on the new domain need to get routed to the inbox and ditto the old emails, however, I want to be able to change the reply-to in the header to the new email address automatically. I also want to set the new email addresses as the defaults. Ideally, I'd like to be able to add a message at the bottom of every externally outgoing email saying that the new email is [email protected]. But this is a nice to have, certainly not a must have. I've added the new domain as authoritative, and managed to change the primary smtp email addresses to the new one, but sent emails are not being routed to them and neither are the old email addresses! Now how the heck would I go about fixing all of that? I'm completely stumped! TIA

  • Upload documents using email and mapping properties of documents

    Hi, We have a requirement to upload documents to a specific SharePoint document library when a document is sent via email to a specific email address. I think SharePoint has this feature available. What I would like to know more importantly is mapping the information in the body of the email to the custom properties of the document. For example, if a custom field (property) is added to the document in SharePoint say - "Year". I provide the value of this property within the body of the email and attach the document in email. Is it possible that the provided value in the body of the email for the property is updated in SharePoint when the document is uploaded to SharePoint through email? We are using SharePoint 2007. Appreciate any information on this. Thanks

    I am trying to filter/forward emails from a gmail account to a tumblr blog. I have created the tumblr blog and set it up to receive emails via a tumblr email address as seen here: http://www.tumblr.com/docs/en/email_publishing#can The problem is that, as stated by the tumblr email set-up page: "What if I’m having trouble with email publishing? A few tips: Send posts directly to your mobile posting email address. You cannot email another email address and then forward the email from there." This appears to make filtering emails from a gmail account impossible. Anyone know of work around for this?

  • Use your own domain email and tired of SPAM? SPAMfighter FTW

    I wouldn't post this if I hadn't tried it... and I paid for it myself, so don't anybody be thinking I'm reviewing something someone sent me! Long ago and far away I got very tired of local ISPs and 2nd phone lines and took the plunge and got hooked up to cable... yeah I know the 2nd phone line concept may be hard for everyone to understand, but that's how it was in 'the old days'. To avoid having to change email addresses all the time, I decided to buy a domain name, get minimal hosting, and use that for all email into the house. That way if I changed providers, all the email addresses wouldn't have to change. Of course, about a dozen domains later, I have LOTS of pop email addresses and even an exchange address to my client's server... times have changed. What also has changed is the fact that we get SPAM... 'back in the day' when I was a beta tester for the first ISP in Phoenix, someone tried sending an ad to all of us, and what he got in return for his trouble was a bunch of core dumps that locked up his email... if you don't know what a core dump is, ask your grandfather. But in today's world, we're all much more civilized than that, and as with many things, the criminals seem to have much more rights than we do, so we get inundated with email offering all sorts of wild schemes that you'd have to be brain-dead to accept, but yet... if people weren't accepting them, they'd stop sending them. I keep hoping that survival of the smartest would weed out the mental midgets that respond and then the jumk email stop, but that hasn't happened yet anymore than finding high-quality hearing aids at the checkout line of Safeway because of all the dimwits playing music too loud inside their car... but that's another whole topic and I digress. So what's the solution for all the spam? And I mean *all*... on that old personal email address, I am now getting over 150 spam messages a day! Yes I know that's why God invented the delete key, but I took it on as a challenge, and it's a matter of principle... why should I switch email addresses, or convert from [email protected] to something else, or have all my email filtered through some service just because some A-Hole somewhere has a site up trying to phish Ma & Pa Kettle (ask your grandfather about that too) out of their retirement money? Well... I got an email from my cousin the other day while I was writing yet another email rule, and there was a banner on the bottom of his email that said he was protected by SPAMfighter. SPAMfighter huh.... so I took a look at their site, and found yet one more of the supposed tools to help us. But... I read that they're a Microsoft Gold Partner... and that doesn't come lightly... so I took a gamble and here's what I found: I installed it, and had to do a couple things: 1) SPAMfighter stuffed the SPAMfighter folder into my client's exchange address... I deleted it, made a new SPAMfighter folder where I wanted it to go, then in the SPAMfighter Clients settings for Outlook, I told it to put all spam there. 2) It didn't seem to be doing anything. There's a ribbon button that you can select "Block", and I did that, wondering if I was 'training' it, but it wasn't picking up duplicates 3) I sent email to support, and wrote a post on the forum (not to self: reply to that post). By the time the folks from the home office responded, it was the next day, and first up, SPAMfighter knocked down everything that came through when Outlook opend... two thumbs up! I disabled my 'garbage collection' rule from Outlook, and told Outlook not to use the junk folder thinking it was interfering. 4) Day 2 seemed to go about like Day 1... but I hung in there. 5) Day 3 is now a whole new day... I had left Outlook open and hadn't looked at the PC since sometime late yesterday afternoon, and when I looked this morning, *every bit* of spam was in the SPAMfighter folder!! I'm a new paying customer After watching SPAMfighter work this morning, I've purchased a 1-year license, and I now can sit and watch as emails come in and disappear from my inbox into the SPAMfighter folder. No more continual tweaking of the rules. I've got SPAMfighter set to 'Very Hard' filtering... personally I'd rather pull the few real emails out of the SPAMfighter folder than pull spam out of the real folders. Yes this is simply another way of using the delete key, but you know what? ... it feels good :) Here's a screenshot of the stats after just about 48 hours of being onboard: Note that all the ones blocked by me were during Day 1 and 2... I've blocked none today, and everything is blocked. Stay in the 'Light!

    I'm using an ajax registration form plugin for my website and I'm thinking to implement also Paypal. Here is how I want to implement it : I have 3 labels ( Name, Phone, Email, ) and a " Buy " button. After the user is typing his name, phone and email they click on "Buy" and they will be redirected to the paypal payment page or if it's possible to stay on the same page. Probably, what I need to know is how to make the "Buy " only after the forms ( name, phone, email ) are validated. Is there a plugin, or a snippet of code already made to not start something which already exists.

    Hello, I have seen that yahoo now enables their users to import facebook friend's email addresses into their yahoo addressbook. As far as i know, facebook doesn't allow any API to fetch email addresses of any user on external websites. I have also seen that Yahoo imports email addresses only when the friend's have chosen not to display their contact email to themselves only. Many people in the world trying to implement applications using facebook's API to import email addresses of friend's (Only those email addresses which are visible on user's facebook profile) but API calls always return NULL to their requests. So i would like to know what exactly happened between facebook and yahoo? Does facebook have provided any concessions to Yahoo's addressbook importer application to import facebook user's email addresses? Is there any working API/method/way available to fetch email addresses of facebook friends who have chosen to display their contact email ids on their profile with 1: only visible to friends, 2: visible to everyone privacy settings? I have also seen that, facebook API page clearly listen that email/contact_email field's can be fetched using FQL. Nevertheless there is no official explanation on this issue of returning NULL when email/contact_email is requested from any API call. Regards

Now, truth be told, I'm not clueless when it comes to these things, but this is my first rodeo working with a rack server/console.. However, I'm confident that I will be able to work through any solutions you provide. Short Description: When a customer places an order via our (Magento CE 1.8.1.0) website, a copy of said order is supposed to be BCC'd to our sales manager. I say supposed because this was a working feature before the old administrator left. Long Description: Shortly after I started, we had a server crash which required a server restart. After restart, we noticed a few features on our site weren't working, but all those have been cleaned up except this one. I had to create an account on our server for root access. When a customer places an order, our sites software (Magento CE 1.8.1.0) is configured to BCC the customers order email to our sales manager. We use a Microsoft Exchange 2007 Server for our mail, which is hosted on a different machine (in-house) that I don't have access to ATM, but I'm sure I could if needed. As far as I can tell, all other external emails work.. Only INTERNAL email addresses fail to deliver. I know this because I've also tested my own internal address via our website. I set up an account with an internal email, made a test order, and never received the email. I changed my email for the account to an external GMail account, and received emails as expected. Let's dive into the logs and config's.     I use Mail.app 3.6 (on 10.5 Leopard), and I always use plain-text email. Normally, when I receive an email reply from practically anyone, it looks like this (test message sent from Mail.app, replied from Hotmail, replied from Google Apps): Needless to say, I quite like this threading, and it keeps everything very visually-organized. However, when I receive a plain-text email reply from people on Microsoft Outlook (tested with Outlook 2003 & 2007), it isn't threaded like the image. Instead, it appears as below, without being threaded nicely. My reply to the message. -----Original Message----- From: Tyson Moore [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: [Date] To: [Receiver] Subject: Test Original message. Through looking at the source of my original message, it appears as though every time the message is quoted, less-than signs (<) are inserted before every line in the reply. My question: is this a Mail.app limitation in not recognizing the -----Original Message----- line put in by Outlook, or an Outlook problem not inserting > before every line in a reply (or both)?

    I'm using DNSimple for managing my records, hosting my site at Heroku and I want to use a Linux WHM (cPanel) for managing emails forwarding (DNSimple has that feature, but it's currently not working properly). Hosting works, but I'm having a hard time getting emails to work. Is this possible to achieve?

  • Is it possible to clone system drive in Windows 7?

    My current problem is that my Window 7 system drive is unstable. I would like to try to clone this drive to the same type of disk (OCZ Vertex 2 120GB to OCZ Vertex 2 120GB) and replace the system drive with created clone. My installation doesn't have ProgramData and User profiles on the system drive. Later on (after warranty replacement of problematic drive), I would like to copy ProgramData and User profiles to different disk (Samsung SpinPoint 750GB to OCZ Vertex 2 120GB) and use the new disk instead. Note: data have only few GBs so there should not be any problem with the disk size. Is it possible? What is the best way to do that? Is it better to simply reinstall the system from scratch (I would like to avoid it)?

If the mail is legitimate the originating server will, after a delay, try again and, if sufficient time has elapsed, the email will be accepted. But how can I find out how long these delays are on my server and on the receiving side? My goal is to speed up email-traffic with partners using greylisting too and speed up the receiving of the first email someone sends to customers on my server.

    Hello, I don't know if this will make any sense to you; but here goes. When I send an email and I get a response, more often than not, in the 'to:' is my email address. However, my email address also ends up in the 'from' column.The 'reply-from' address is nowhere to be found;so I don't have any address with which I can send my reply, as both of them have just my email address. What am I doing wrong here? Is there some set-up in my TOOLOPTIONS set-up incorrectly? The set-up in OPTIONS is pretty difficult to understand and it doesn't offer any 'to' or 'reply-from' choices.     I've switched my main domain to point the MX to Google Apps, and my actual domain's server with the lowest MX priority. My idea is to have my primary emails on Google Apps, where the secondary are via Cpanel. Is this even possible? Currently MX records read: 0 Google 4 Google 4 Google 9 Google 9 Google 10 My server I have [email protected] which is added in G. Apps, and [email protected] which is only added in cpanel. Is there anyway to get this to work?
