Using the same icons/images that are used in the target environment, and for the same purposes, helps greatly with this. It's great to see that Microsoft have published an image library for Visual Studio that lets your own applications use the same images that they use in the operating system. You'll find info about it (and the download) here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35825

  • Unix tools in business use: are they helpful?

    - by Prometheus
Do you think knowing Unix tools like sed, awk, LaTeX, Perl give you a great edge in the business world? (e.g. being a manager) From my short reflection, the only profession that needs those sort of (plain text) tools is programming. Because even when I do creative writing, I rarely ever need it. I mean, do CEOs and executives of large corporations ever learn this kind of stuff if they were not CS major to begin with?

  • Library For Opengl 1.4?

    - by Robinson Joaquin
My netbook only supports openGL version 1.4, my GPU is intel gma 3150, so for you what is the best library/tools to use or somewhat great move to make/advice, there are no wrong answers, (I am trying to create a game) PS: I already check the net for resources but, opengl (redbook) 4th edition is scarce (and redbook for v1.1 is already deprecated and is very OLD than what I'm looking for), besides I don't have money to buy a new laptop or a opengl book from online shop because international delivery is very expensive, I'm from outside US.
