  • Cannot edit ColumnDefinitions property in Visual Studio WPF application, ellipsis are invisible!

    - by SLC
    I have a window that looks like this: <Window x:Class="MyWindow" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Title="My Title" Height="300" Width="300" ResizeMode="NoResize" SizeToContent="Height" WindowStartupLocation="CenterOwner"> <DockPanel> <Grid x:Name="MyGrid" DockPanel.Dock="Top" Margin="10"> </Grid> </DockPanel> </Window> Pretty simple. The instructions I am following suggest that if I click the item, the properties window will appear (it does), and then I can click ColumnDefinitions (which is a Collection) to bring up the Collection Editor and add some columns. However, the ColumnDefinitions property looks like this: The ColumnDefinitions ellipsis you'd normally press is gone, or invisible, or something. Any idea why?

  • SQL Server Reporting Services 2008: How to set the credentials property properly?

    - by wgpubs
    No matter how I configure the Credentials property I get a 401 exception when I try to Render the report. Here is my (latest) code: var rs = new ReportExecutionService(); rs.Url = "https://myserver/reportserver/reportexecution2005.asmx"; var myCache = new System.Net.CredentialCache(); myCache.Add(new Uri(rs.Url), "kerberos" , new System.Net.NetworkCredential("username", "password", "Domain")); rs.Credentials = myCache; The URL and credentials are all correct. But still getting a 401 when I cal rs.Render(...). The Reporting Services install is sitting on a Windows Server 2008 box and requires integrated authentication. Thanks

  • How do I programmatically set property of control in aspx file ?

    - by Thomas Wanner
    This may be a very dumb question but I can't seem to get it working. I use at many places the following syntax for dynamically binding a property of a control in aspx file to the resource entry, e.g. <SomeFunnyControl Text="<%$ Resources : ResClass, ResEntry %>" /> I want to do a similar thing with a class containing some constants, something like <SomeFunnyControl Text="<%= MyConstantsClass.MyStringConstant %>" /> But this doesn't seem to work, it simply sets the text to the exact expression without evaluating it. I am using ASP.NET 3.5 btw. I have tried the databinding approach but I get an HttpParseException saying Databinding expressions are only supported on objects that have a DataBinding event.

  • How to implement a TypeConverter for a type and property I don't own?

    - by CannibalSmith
    This is annoying: <GeometryDrawing> <GeometryDrawing.Pen> <Pen Brush="Black"/> </GeometryDrawing.Pen> </GeometryDrawing> I want this: <GeometryDrawing Pen="Black"/> So I write a TypeConverter: public class PenConverter : TypeConverter { static readonly BrushConverter brushConverter = new BrushConverter(); public override bool CanConvertFrom(ITypeDescriptorContext context, Type sourceType) { if (sourceType == typeof(string)) return true; return base.CanConvertFrom(context, sourceType); } public override object ConvertFrom(ITypeDescriptorContext context, CultureInfo culture, object value) { var s = value as string; if (a != null) { var brush = brushConverter.ConvertFromInvariantString(s) as Brush; return new Pen(brush, 1); } return base.ConvertFrom(context, culture, value); } } Now, how do I link it up with the Pen type? I can't just add a TypeConverterAttribute to it as I don't own it (nor do I own GeometryDrawing.Pen property).

  • How do I change a property's value based on a conditional in msbuild?

    - by Noel Kennedy
    I would like to change the value of a property if it is a certain value. In C# I would write: if(x=="NotAllowed") x="CorrectedValue; This is what I have so far, please don't laugh: <PropertyGroup> <BranchName>BranchNameNotSet</BranchName> </PropertyGroup> ///Other targets set BranchName <Target Name="CheckPropertiesHaveBeenSet"> <Error Condition="$(BranchName)==BranchNameNotSet" Text="Something has gone wrong.. branch name not entered"/> <When Condition="$(BranchName)==master"> <PropertyGroup> <BranchName>MasterBranch</BranchName> </PropertyGroup> </When> </Target>

  • Why was the arguments.callee.caller property deprecated in JavaScript?

    - by pcorcoran
    Why was the arguments.callee.caller property deprecated in JavaScript? It was added and then deprecated in JavaScript, but it was omitted altogether by ECMAScript. Some browser (Mozilla, IE) have always supported it and don't have any plans on the map to remove support. Others (Safari, Opera) have adopted support for it, but support on older browsers is unreliable. Is there a good reason to put this valuable functionality in limbo? (Or alternately, is there a better way to grab a handle on the calling function?)

    - by Michael Rut
    I'm new to lambda expressions and looking to leverage the syntax to set the value of one property in a collection based on another value in a collection Typically I would do a loop: class item{ public string name {get;set;} public string value {get;set;} } class business { item item1 = new item(name="name1"); item item2 = new item(name="name2"); item item3 = new item(name="name3"); Collection<item> items = new Collection() {item1,item2,item3}; //This is what I want to simplify for( int i = 0; i < items.count; i++) { if(items[i].item.name == "name2") { //set the value items[i].item.value = "value2"; } } }

  • C# - Custom Attributes - Setting an attribute property to the type of the decorated class.

    - by cmaduro
    Is it possible to get the decorated class' type inside of the custom attribute's class? For example: [MetadataAttribute] [AttributeUsage(AttributeTargets.Class | AttributeTargets.Property, AllowMultiple = false)] public class ViewAttribute : ExportAttribute { public object TargetRegion { get; set; } public Type ViewModel { get; set; } public Type Module { get; set; } public ViewAttribute() : base(typeof(UserControl)) { Module = GetDecoratedClassType(); //I need this method } } In the following example GetDecoratedClassType() would return HomeView [View] HomeView MyHomeView { get; set; }

  • Saving a 'Date' using DataMapper on AppEngine+JRuby

    - by Ryan Montgomery
    I have a a model as follows: class Total include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :amount, Float, :default => 0.00 property :day, Date belongs_to :calendar end I am trying to select a specific Total from the data-store. class Calendar include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :name, String has n, :totals def get_total_for(date) return Total.first(:day => date, :calendar => self) end end When I call get_total_for(DateTime.now) I receive the following error on the call to the data-store. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: day: org.jruby.RubyObject is not a supported property type. Is Date not allowed for usage in AppEngine? Is this a DataMapper issue? I have tried changing the name of the :day property to something else (hoping it was just a name conflict) but it doesn't seem to matter. Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • Want to add a new property to a class, can I use anonymous functions for this?

    - by Blankman
    I have 2 Lists: List<User> List<UserStats> So I want to add a property Count to User (it doesn't have one now, and I can't change the implementation at this point). For a web service call, that returns json, I want to modify the User object. Basically I add the Users to a collection. So I want to add a modified user class (via anonymous functions?) to the collection before I serialize it to json. So something like: loop users { user.Count = userstats[user.ID].Count; list.Add(user); } is this possible? how?

  • is there a way to add a variable/property to a DOM element (eg, an element returned by a jQuery sele

    - by bt
    Hi there, I am looking for an alternative to using an object/variable in global scope -- I would like to associate key/value pairs with specific DOM elements (eg, a DIV), so that I can use them as input for logic that processes other elements (eg, child elements of said DIV). I tried something naive like: $('[foo=bar]').key='value' , and $('[foo=bar]')[key]='value', but it puked. Doing something like: var foobar = $('[foo=bar]'); foobar.key = 'value' -- works, but the new property/value only affects the new object (ie, foobar, not $('[foo=bar]')) Most likely there's something terribly basic I am overlooking. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

  • How can I get Text property to initialize to the objects name at design time?

    - by cyclotis04
    When you add a label to the form from the toolbox, its text defaults to the item's name (label1, label2, etc). How can I make this happen with a custom control? So far, I have the following, which allows me to change the text through the property window: private string _text; [BrowsableAttribute(true)] public override string Text { get { return _text; } set { _text = value; lblID.Text = _text; } } Apparently the above code works as is, but I'm not sure why. Does Text default to the object's name automatically? The question still stands for other properties which don't override Text.

  • Can I set a PHP class property from an existing variable?

    - by jasondavis
    I am trying to figure out how I want to handle settings in my PHP app. I have pretty much decide that I would like to use a Confg class file so it will be autoloaded and flexible in the future. Below is some stuff I was playing with. I know you cannot set a variable to popluate a Constant so I then try to use a public static property. Why can I not set public static $ip = $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']; ?? <?php // config.class.php class Config { const URL = 'http://www.foo.com'; const DB_User = 'dbname'; public static $test = 'test string'; public static $ip = $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']; } /////////////////////////////////////////////////////// //index.php // works echo Config::URL; // works echo Config::$test; // DOES NOT WORK echo Config::$ip; ?>

  • In WPF, how do I update the object that my custom property is bound to?

    - by Timothy Khouri
    I have a custom property that works perfectly, except when it's bound to an object. The reason is that once the following code is executed: base.SetValue(ValueProperty, value); ... then my control is no longer bound. I know this because calling: base.GetBindingExpression(ValueProperty); ... returns the binding object perfectly - UNTIL I call base.SetValue. So my question is, how do I pass the new "value" on to the object that I'm bound to?

  • Component properties working at designt time but not runtime - ???

    - by delphi-rulez-2010
    I am creating a component that uses a collection and collection items of panels. I can't seem to get the colors to work at runtime, but yet they seem to work just fine at design time. You can download the component source code here: http://www.shaneholmes.net/pasfiles/ There is a Consoles (Tcollection) property, status colors property, and a Edit mode property Each console (TCollectionItem) has a status property when changed, the consoles property is changed based on the components StatusColors property. When the components EditMode property is set to true, you can move the panels around at runtime. Question: Why does the colors only work at designtime and not runtime. thanks

  • Can I batch based on a Property (not just Items)?

    - by Josh Buedel
    I have a property group, like so: <PropertyGroup> <Platform>Win32;x64</Platform> </PropertyGroup> And I want to batch in an Exec task, like so: <Exec Command='devenv MySolution.sln /Build "Release|%(Platform)"' /> But of course, as written I get an error: error MSB4095: The item metadata %(Platform) is being referenced without an item name. Specify the item name by using %(itemname.Platform). Can I batch tasks on properties that are lists? I suppose I could hack it by creating a placeholder ItemGroup with metadata and batch on that.

  • DataMapper save fails but with no errors

    - by Justin Bozonier
    When I try to modify and then save a model using DataMapper I get a SaveFailure exception but no errors. Specifically I see this message: "MonthlyBill#save returned false, MonthlyBill was not saved" This is the code doing the saving: post '/monthly_bills' do with_authenticated_user do |user| description = params[:description] expected_amount = params[:expected_amount] pay_period = params[:pay_period] monthly_bill = MonthlyBill.new(:description=>description, :expected_amount=>expected_amount, :pay_period=>pay_period) user.MonthlyBills << monthly_bill user.save end The User model: class User include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :email_address, String property :password, String has n, :MonthlyBills has 1, :CurrentPayPeriod end The MonthlyBill model: class MonthlyBill include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :description, String property :expected_amount,Decimal property :pay_period, Integer belongs_to :user end What is the issue and, more importantly, how can I get DataMapper to tell me more specifically what is wrong?

  • Regular Expression to get the size value of a CSS property?

    - by thiesdiggity
    I wrote a regular expression to get the size from a CSS property: /(([+-]?\d*\.?\d+(\s)*(px|em|ex|pt|in|pc|mm|cm)?)|thin|medium|thick)(\s|;|$)/i but for some reason its not working as intended. For example, when I run the following: preg_match_all('/(([+-]?\d*\.?\d+(\s)*(px|em|ex|pt|in|pc|mm|cm)?)|thin|medium|thick)(\s|;|$)/i', "border-bottom:1px solid #99999;", $matches); It outputs: 1px 99999; But I only want the 1px value returned. I understand why its returning the above but can't seem to figure out how to only return the size and not the color value. I tried using the following negative lookbehind but it's not working either: /(((?<!#\d{3}|#\d{6})[+-]?\d*\.?\d+(\s)*(px|em|ex|pt|in|pc|mm|cm)?)|thin|medium|thick)(\s|;|$)/i I want to use preg_match_all for those CSS properties that can have multiple size values (i.e. margin). Anyone have any ideas how to get this regex to return only the size values? Thanks for your help!

  • Easy one? Access an object's property by using a variable in C# [closed]

    - by ozke
    Possible Duplicate: Property Name and need its value Hi, This one should be easy for most people. I'd like to access a normal variable in an object (let's say example) by using a variable value. E.g.: I have a an array with a list of variable names and I want to get the information from the object by using them. Obviously this is wrong: string[] variable_names = new string[] {"name", "surname"}; myObject.variable_names[0] = 1; myObject.variable_names[1] = 1; In other languages (not C#) I use: myObject[variable_names[0]] = 1; I know the example looks stupid but it was just a way of explaining it. Thanks in advance :)

  • how do you set a property of a control to an address of a function in xaml?

    - by ambog36
    Hi, I have a control that has a "Filter" property that expects a function that defines how the contents of the control should be filtered. so far i am setting the filter in code behind as such: MyControl.Filter = AddressOf Filters.MyFilter In this example MyFilter is a shared function in the Filters class with the following signature: Public Shared Function MyFilter(ByVal obj As Object, ByVal text As String) As Boolean I would like to set this in xaml. I was thinking of setting the Filters.MyFilter as a static resource and setting it that way: ...Filter="{StaticResource myFilter}"/ but i cant set Filters.MyFilter as a static resource. Any ideas on how to achieve this? Thanks,
