  • How to attach a scroll bar to a canvas in android ?

    - by panzerschreck
    Hello, I am drawing up a grid on a canvas as below, I have not been able to get the scroll bar to appear, I looked around for examples, but none of them give details on drawing scroll bars for custom views. Your help is much appreciated. public class GridActivity extends Activity { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); // i tried to do as in the documentation nothing seems to happen LinearLayout lLayout = new LinearLayout(this); lLayout.addView(new CustomDrawableView(this), new ViewGroup.LayoutParams(800,600)); FrameLayout fLayout = new FrameLayout(this); fLayout.addView(lLayout, new ViewGroup.LayoutParams(800,600)); setContentView(fLayout); } private class GridView extends ScrollView { private ShapeDrawable[] mDrawable; public GridView (Context context) { // some initialization } protected void onDraw(Canvas canvas) { for each i mDrawable[i].draw(canvas) } } }

  • Using chilkat to extract RAR files with progress bar?

    - by Dodi300
Hello. Does anyone know how to show the progress of archives extracting, when using chilkat? I already have a progress bar called "progressBar1" on my form. At the moment the whole program freezes when extraction is started. Maybe have another thread? I'm using this code: Chilkat.Rar rar = new Chilkat.Rar(); bool success; success = rar.Open("abc123.rar"); if (success != true) { MessageBox.Show(rar.LastErrorText); return; } success = rar.Unrar("c:/temp/unrarDest/"); if (success != true) { MessageBox.Show(rar.LastErrorText); } else { MessageBox.Show("Success."); } If anyone has any alternative ways to extract .rar files, it would be great to know. Thanks.

  • Javascript: Calling a function written in an anonymous function from String with the function's name

    - by Kai barry yuzanic
Hello. I've started using jQuery and am wondering how to call functions in an anonymous function dynamically from String. Let's say for instance, I have the following functions: function foo() { // Being in the global namespace, // this function can be called with window['foo']() alert("foo"); } jQuery(document).ready(function(){ function bar() { // How can this function be called // by using a String of the function's name 'bar'?? alert("bar"); } // I want to call the function bar here from String with the name 'bar' } I've been trying to figure out what could be the counterpart of 'window', which can call functions from the global namespace such as window["foo"]. In the small example above, how I can call the function bar from a String "bar"? Thank you for your help.

  • How do I get the "Install Missing Plugin" yellow bar to appear in firefox when flash is not installe

    - by Janak
My rails website uses the open_flash_graph plugin to generate flash graphs for my clients. If a customer doesn't have flash installed, it doesn't display any messages, it simply doesn't show any graphs. I've noticed that if I go to other websites that need flash, I get a yellow bar at the top of my firefox window that offers to "Install Missing Plugin". I assume something in the HTML lets firefox know that this webpage needs flash. What code do I need to add to my website to make this work?

  • How does Unity.Resolve know which constructor to use?

    - by stiank81
Given a class with several constructors - how can I tell Resolve which constructor to use? Consider the following example class: public class Foo { public Foo() { } public Foo(IBar bar) { Bar = bar; } public Foo(string name, IBar bar) { Bar = bar; Name = name; } public IBar Bar { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } If I want to create an object of type Foo using Resolve how will Resolve know which constructor to use? And how can I tell it to use the right one? Let's say I have a container with an IBar registered - will it understand that it should favor the constructor taking IBar? And if I specify a string too - will it use the (string, IBar) constructor? Foo foo = unityContainer.Resolve<Foo>(); And please ignore the fact that it would probably be easier if the class just had a single constructor...

  • Rails 2.3.x, named_scope chaining with INNER JOIN complication

    - by randombits
I have two hypothetical classes, Foo and Bar. Foo contains many Bars. Bar can only belong to one Foo. Ultimately the SQL query I'm trying to make happen looks like the following: SELECT * from bar INNER JOIN foo ON bar.foo_id = foo.id where bar.in_use = 0 and bar.customer_id = 1 and foo.category = 0 That query does what I need. Now I'm trying to break the problem down in Rails using chained named_scopes. First, the straight forward in_use and customer_id scopes I have set: named_scope :available, :conditions => { :in_use => 0 } named_scope :not_available, :conditions => { :in_use => 1 } named_scope :customer, lambda { |num| { :conditions => { :customer_id => num } } } Now the part I'm stuck at, is I'm trying to do something like this in my code: abar = Bar.available.customer(1).category(0) how and where do I put the category named_scope to make this work?

  • Why are Views loaded from nibs being placed 20 pixels down from the status bar?

    - by rickharrison
I am trying to set up a layout as such in an iPad application. It will have three major views, which make up the whole screen. The views will be stacked one on top of the other, each taking up the full width. I have one major nib file which accounts for the entire screen space. In that nib file, I am instantiating the three view controllers with outlets. Then I have this code: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [self.view addSubview:controllerOne.view]; [self.view addSubview:controllerTwo.view]; [self.view addSubview:controllerThree.view]; } This adds the views on top of one another and 20 pixels lower. However, after rotating to landscape and back they are right under the status bar. Do you know what would be causing this?

  • Can I use an opened gzip file with Popen in Python?

    - by eric.frederich
    I have a little command line tool that reads from stdin. On the command line I would run either... ./foo < bar or ... cat bar | ./foo With a gziped file I can run zcat bar.gz | ./foo in Python I can do ... Popen(["./foo", ], stdin=open('bar'), stdout=PIPE, stderr=PIPE) but I can't do import gzip Popen(["./foo", ], stdin=gzip.open('bar'), stdout=PIPE, stderr=PIPE) I wind up having to run p0 = Popen(["zcat", "bar"], stdout=PIPE, stderr=PIPE) Popen(["./foo", ], stdin=p0.stdout, stdout=PIPE, stderr=PIPE) Am I doing something wrong? Why can't I use gzip.open('bar') as an stdin arg to Popen?

  • Java generics SuppressWarnings("unchecked") mystery

    - by Johannes Ernst
Why does code alternative(1) compile without warnings, and code alternative(2) produce an "unchecked cast" warning? • Any sense to set obj = null(Nothing) in Dispose()?

    - by serhio
    Is there any sense to set custom object to null(Nothing in VB.NET) in the Dispose() method? Could this prevent memory leaks or it's useless?! Let's consider two examples: public class Foo : IDisposable { private Bar bar; // standard custom .NET object public Foo(Bar bar) { this.bar = bar; } public void Dispose() { bar = null; // any sense? } } public class Foo : RichTextBox { // this could be also: GDI+, TCP socket, SQl Connection, other "heavy" object private Bitmap backImage; public Foo(Bitmap backImage) { this.backImage = backImage; } protected override void Dispose(bool disposing) { if (disposing) { backImage = null; // any sense? } } }

  • jQuery event trigger - cancelable event

    - by Dismissile
I have created a jquery plugin which is triggering an event: $.fn.myplugin = function(options) { this.on("foo.myplugin", options.foo); this.on("bar.myplugin", options.bar); }; I want to check if foo has been canceled by a user and prevent bar from being triggered: // trigger foo this.trigger("foo.myplugin"); // how do I check if foo was canceled if( !fooCanceled ) { this.trigger("bar.myplugin"); } How can I check if foo was canceled to prevent bar from being triggered? jQuery UI does something similar to this, but it did not work when I tried: if (this._trigger("search", event) === false) { return; } I tried something similar to this: if( this.trigger("foo.myplugin") === false ) { return; } this.trigger("bar.myplugin"); But bar was still being triggered.

  • PHP access class inside another class

    - by arxanas
So I have two classes like this: class foo { /* code here */ } $foo = new foo(); class bar { global $foo; public function bar () { echo $foo->something(); } } I want to access the methods of foo inside all methods bar, without declaring it in each method inside bar, like this: class bar { public function bar () { global $foo; echo $foo->something(); } public function barMethod () { global $foo; echo $foo->somethingElse(); } /* etc */ } I don't want to extend it, either. I tried using the var keyword, but it didn't seem to work. What do I do in order to access the other class "foo" inside all methods of bar?

  • The document.body.innerHTML.replace() replaces the url in the address bar.

    - by divya
I am trying to make an extension as part of which i want certain words in the web pages to be highlighted. The document.body.innerHTML.replace() replaces the url in the address bar as well. So the moment this code gets exwecuted the page doesnt get loaded properly.. Is there a way around this problem? onPageLoad: function(aEvent) { var doc = aEvent.originalTarget; var str="the"; var regex; var regex = new RegExp(str, "g"); doc.body.innerHTML = doc.body.innerHTML.replace(regex,'<b>'+str+'</b>'); } The listener is registered as follows in a browser.xul overlay: window.addEventListener("load", function() { myExtension.init(); }, false); var myExtension = { init: function() { var appcontent = document.getElementById("appcontent"); // browser if(appcontent) appcontent.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", myExtension.onPageLoad, false); },

  • UISearchBar in UINavigationBar with ScopeBar

    - by ncipollina
I am trying to put a UISearchBar inside of the UINavigationBar, which I am able to do without much problem. The problem is that I have logic when editing to show the Scope Bar. This all works fine, with one exception. The navigation bar tries to center the UISearchBar inside of the title view. This causes the search bar to move up above the navigation bar. I tried adding some logic to set the frame of the search bar so that it just draws overtop of my main view, which is fine. I can only set the height, which causes the search bar to draw over the view just fine, but it isn't wide enough to cover the whole screen. If I set the width on the frame, it goes back to the same behavior of trying to center the UISearchBar on the navigation bar. Anyone know how I can accomplish this? Thanks, Nick

  • How to Get Search Bar in Tableview to Appear When User Taps Search Icon at the top of sectionIndex s

    - by Gorgando
I have a tableview with an indexed scrollbar on the right side that shows the letters A-Z and has a magnifying glass icon at the top ({search}). All of the letters in the scrollbar appropriately take the user to the corresponding section except for the magnifying glass, which takes the user to "A" and keeps the searchBar hidden. I just want it to go to the very top of the table so that the searchBar shows up when the user taps the magnifying glass icon in the scroll bar. I've been looking all over for ways to do this, but I can't find any way shy of adding the searchBar to the first tableCell and it's own section, which I'd prefer not to do unless it's the only way. Thanks so much!

  • How to change the icon in the title bar in R?

    - by Jared
I just installed R 2.11.0-x64 onto my Windows 7 Professional machine. With my previous installations of R (2.10.1 32 bit was the most recent) the little icon that appeared in the title bar and in the taskbar at the bottom of windows was the R "R." Now however, the icon almost looks like a small windows Task Manager. I know this isn't a code issue, but it affects me as I flip between windows. Is there a way to put the "R" icon back in there? Would it be an R setting or a Windows setting?

  • Why, in Ruby, does Array("foo\nbar") == ["foo\n", "bar"]?

    - by Tyson
In Ruby 1.8.7, Array("hello\nhello") gives you ["hello\n", "hello"]. This does two things that I don't expect: It splits the string on newlines. I'd expect it simply to give me an array with the string I pass in as its single element without modifying the data I pass in. Even if you accept that it's reasonable to split a string when passing it to Array, why does it retain the newline character when "foo\nbar".split does not? Additionally: >> Array.[] "foo\nbar" => ["foo\nbar"] >> Array.[] *"foo\nbar" => ["foo\n", "bar"]

  • Google Pie Chart and Bar Chart (both Interactive) not showing labels.

    - by iRubens
I'm trying to put Google's BarChart and PieChart both the client side version, and i'm experiencing some problems with the labels over the pie and the labels on the left of the vertical axis (of the bar chart). I checked the code a lot of times and it seems to be like that you can see in the examples. I've tried the same page on Firefox and Chrome and it shows the labels without problems. If i try the examples on IE8 the labels are shown but not in my page. Sincerely I've not any idea where to start to fix this thing. Someone can help me or give me an advice? Thanks in advance.

  • How to modify the Title Bar text for SQL Server Management Studio?

    - by DaveDev
Sometimes I keep multiple instances of SQL Server Management Studio 2005 open. I might have the dev database open in one, and the production database open in another. These appear in the Windows task bar with the text "Microsoft SQL Serve...", which means it's impossible to differentiate between them unless I open the window and scroll the Object Explorer up to see what server the window is actually connected to. Is ther any way that I can get the window to display the server name first, and then the name of the application? Like "Dev-DB.database_name - Microsoft SQL Serve..." or whatever?

  • why is the address bar black in Google chrome so you cannot see what you're typing ? [closed]

    - by Tim
The address bar background color in Google Chrome is black. I cannot see what I'm typing. What's going on? This is a problem when you're typing in a URL you've never used before (so there's no matching history). Type in a URL you've never used before. Imagine someone is giving it to you over the phone. Make a typo somewhere. Use the back arrow to go back and correct it. You cannot see where the cursor is. This just started happening yesterday. I'm on WinXP Pro.

  • Why does the assignment operator return a value and not a reference?

    - by Nick Lowman
I saw the example below explained on this site and thought both answers would be 20 and not the 10 that is returned. He wrote that both the comma and assignment returns a value, not a reference. I don't quite understand what that means. I understand it in relation to passing variables into functions or methods i.e primitive types are passed in by value and objects by reference but I'm not sure how it applies in this case. I also understand about context and the value of 'this' (after help from stackoverflow) but I thought in both cases I would still be invoking it as a method, foo.bar() which would mean foo is the context but it seems both result in a function call bar(). Why is that and what does it all mean? var x = 10; var foo = { x: 20, bar: function () {return this.x;} }; (foo.bar = foo.bar)();//returns 10 (foo.bar, foo.bar)();//returns 10

  • Set the thumbImage and watch the slider-bar disappear?

    - by Roberta
[sld1 setThumbImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"Blue.png"] forState:UIControlStateHighlighted]; [sld1 setThumbImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"Blue.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal ]; Would that cause the slider-bar image to disappear? Mine are all gone. (The thumb-image displays just fine.) Apple's docs make it sounds like I can use any ONE of above 2 lines of code. (But I guess I really need both.) And I can't find anything about "you must always do all 4": Set the normal-state image. Set the highlighted-state image. Set the setMinimumTrackImage. Set the setMaximumTrackImage.

  • How to run a progress-bar through an insert query?

I have this insert query: try { Cmd.CommandText = @"INSERT INTO BarcodTbl SELECT * FROM [Text;DATABASE=" + PathI + @"\].[Tmp.txt];"; Cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); Cmd.Dispose(); } catch (Exception ex) { MessageBox.Show(ex.Message); } I have two questions: How can I run a progress-bar from the beginning to the end of the insert? If there is an error, I got the error exception and the action will stop - the query stops and the BarcodTbl is empty. How I can see the error and allow the query to continue filling the table?
