    Hi I always seem to get exception when I use objectAtInded method to retrieve NSString from an array.   • encfs error while decoding the data

    I have installed encfs and started using it to secure all my personal & office data and it was working absolutely fine until 2 hours back. The setup is like this. I have a folder in Copy folder called OfficeData which gets synchronized with my Copy folder When I login into the system I use the command encfs ~/Copy/OfficeData ~/Documents/OfficeData Once my work is over I dismount with the command fusermount -u ~/Documents/OfficeData All this data get synchronized with my desktop and with my mobile phone (as a backup) Today when I mounted, the folder got mounted by no directories and files present in that folder. I was worried and read man encfs which gave me to run the command encfs -v -f ~/Copy/OfficeData ~/Documents/OfficeData 2> encfs-OfficeData-report.txt.     When I run a Flex application in the debug flash player I get an exception pop up as soon as something unexpected happened. However when a customer uses the application he does not use the debug flash player. In this case he does not get an exception pop up, but he UI is not working. So for supportability reasons, I would like to catch any exception that can happen anywhere in the Flex UI and present an error message in a Flex internal popup. By using Java I would just encapsulate the whole UI code in a try/catch block, but with MXML applications in Flex I do not know, where I could perform such a general try/catch.

    I'm using IErrorHandler to do exception handling in WCF and now I want to log the exceptions, along with the stack trace and the user that caused the exception. I've read everywhere to put the logging in the HandleError method, and not the ProvideFault method. My question is, why? The only way I can see to get the user that caused the exception is: OperationContext.Current.IncomingMessageProperties.Security.ServiceSecurityContext.PrimaryIdentity ...But this only seems to work inside ProvideFault, and not inside HandleError. Is there a way to get the user inside HandleError?

    Doesn't produce a app.config . In my team there is a guy who has Visual Studio 2008, he created a webservice. Then there is me, adding this webservice to a console project. Adding the service reference goes without problems but no valid app.config is generated. It's just empty <configuration> </configuration> When I disable 'reuse types' in my service reference it works but then I get an ambiguous error. Is this a bug? I found http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2159107/visual-studio-does-not-generate-app-config-content-when-add-service-reference this one, but there is no solution there, so I thought I bump the problem up again.     I need a little advice. I've got windows service that runs at night. In my development environment, it runs without exception, but when I running it "installed on other machines", when I come in the morning, I'm welcomed with a System.Overflow exception that says that I've set an int32 to value that is too large or small. I've carefully combed the service's c# code, and I have try/catch statements around everything, that should catch any error and write it to a log without completely stopping my service with this overflow exception. But still, it occurs and stops the service. I'd appreciate any conceptual advice on how to pin point what's causing an error such as this.

    Is there a way in Perl to declare that a method can throw an error (or die)? I always loved how in Java, a method could handle an Exception and/or throw it. The method signature allows to put "throws MyException", so a good IDE/compiler would know that if you use said method somewhere in your code, you'd have to check for the Exception or declare your function to "throws" the Exception further. I'm unable to find something alike in Perl. A collegue of mine wrote a method which "dies" on incorrect input, but I forget to eval-if($@) it... offcourse the error was only discovered while a user was running the application. (offcourse I doubt if there is any existing IDE that could find these kind of things for Perl, but atleast perl -cw should be able to, no?)

    I'm creating a service reference to a web service written in Java. The generated classes now follow the Java casing convention used in the web service, for example class names are camelCase rather than PascalCase. Is there a way to get the desired casing from the service reference? CLARIFICATION: With WSE based services, one could modify the generated Reference.cs to provide .NET standard casing and use XmlElementAttribute to map to the Java naming presented by the external web service, like this: [System.Xml.Serialization.XmlElementAttribute("resultType", Form=System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaForm.Unqualified)] [System.Runtime.Serialization.DataMember] public virtual MyResultType ResultType { ... } Not terribly maintenance-friendly without writing custom code to either generate the proxy code or modify it after it's been generated. What I'm after is one or more options to present a WCF generated client proxy to calling applications using the .NET casing conventions, achieving the same as I did previously with WSE. Hopefully with less manual effort.

  • Does GC guarantee that cleared References are enqueued to ReferenceQueue in topological order?

    Say there are two objects, A and B, and there is a pointer A.x --> B, and we create, say, WeakReferences to both A and B, with an associated ReferenceQueue. Assume that both A and B become unreachable. Intuitively B cannot be considered unreachable before A is. In such a case, do we somehow get a guarantee that the respective references will be enqueued in the intuitive (topological when there are no cycles) order in the ReferenceQueue? I.e. ref(A) before ref(B). I don't know - what if the GC marked a bunch of objects as unreachable, and then enqueued them in no particular order? I was reviewing Finalizer.java of guava, seeing this snippet: private void cleanUp(Reference<?> reference) throws ShutDown { ... if (reference == frqReference) { /* * The client no longer has a reference to the * FinalizableReferenceQueue. We can stop. */ throw new ShutDown(); } frqReference is a PhantomReference to the used ReferenceQueue, so if this is GC'ed, no Finalizable{Weak, Soft, Phantom}References can be alive, since they reference the queue. So they have to be GC'ed before the queue itself can be GC'ed - but still, do we get the guarantee that these references will be enqueued to the ReferenceQueue at the order they get "garbage collected" (as if they get GC'ed one by one)? The code implies that there is some kind of guarantee, otherwise unprocessed references could theoretically remain in the queue. Thanks

    I have a TClientDataSet connected to a TDataSetProvider, which in turn is connected to a TAdsTable. I set the SQL command and then open the ClientDataset something like this: try CDS.CommandText := 'SELECT * FROM tablename WHERE fieldname = 1'; CDS.Open except // trap exception here - this never gets executed! end; If the SQL statement in CommandText fails, however (syntax error or whatever) I get an exception within the Advantage code, but it never gets caught in my own exception handling code. Is there any way for me to trap this error and report it nicely to the user. Alternatively is there a way to verify the syntax of an SQL query before executing it? I'm using Delphi Pro 2009, and Advantage Local Server 9.

    If you wrap a call to HttpResponse.End within a try catch block, the ThreadAbortException would automatically be re-raised. I assume this is the case even if you wrap the try catch block in a try catch block. How can I accomplish the same thing?   • ASP.net MVC [HandleError] not catching exceptions.

    In two different application, one a custom the other the sample MVC application you get with a new VS2008 MVC project, [HandleError] is not catching exceptions. In the sample application I have: [HandleError] public class HomeController : Controller { public ActionResult Index() { ViewData["Message"] = "Welcome to ASP.NET MVC!"; throw new Exception(); return View(); } public ActionResult About() { return View(); } } which is just the default controller with an exception being thrown for testing. But it doesn't work. Instead of going to the default error.aspx page it shows the debug information in the browser. The problem first cropped up in a custom application I'm working on which led me to test it with the sample application. Thinking it had something to do with changes I made in the custom application, I left the sample application completely unchanged with the exception (yuck) of the throw in the index method. I'm stumped. What am I missing?

  • TFS Build Server Cannot find Assembly Reference

    I looked at this post http://stackoverflow.com/questions/547468/assembly-references-wont-resolve-properly-on-our-build-server but it didn't help the issue. I am (extremely) new to TFS, and just installed 2010 on a VM. I imported a project and got everything working-ish. I went to create a new build through team explorer, and set it up to build on each check-in. It build's locally just fine, but when it's built on check-in it dies on a 3rd party assembly reference. The reference is not in the GAC, but part of the local references. There is only one 3rd party dll, and the projects only reference each other in the solution. I have a feeling I'm missing some important step with regards to TFS and references. Any ideas? EDIT: This a test installation...there is nothing else installed on this box, with the exception of SQL and IIS.
