  Is there any mobile platform that allows me to run Java Applets? In absence of browser integration, at least Java SE capabilities. I've heard of a mobile device capable of running Windows XP - that would probably include support for Java SE and applets; does any one have any hands-on experience with such a device?   I'm trying to perform a LINQ query on a DataTable object and bizarrely I am finding that performing such queries on DataTables is not straightforward. For example: var results = from myRow in myDataTable where results.Field("RowNo") == 1 select results; This is not allowed. Any ideas how to get something like this working? I'm amazed that LINQ queries are not allowed on DataTables!

  Anyone know if it is easily possible to send **kwargs over PyAMF from NetConnection.call()? I would like it. I could write a wrapper around the actual function and expose that and perform some parsing manually to determine the kwargs to pass in, but I don't want to do that. • How to detect if object was updated using Nhibernate?

  I need to find out how to perform some action (flush cache) when an object of type X is updated. So when I save object of type Y, nothing is done, when I save unchanged object of type X nothing should happed, but when this object is changed and UPDATE is made, I want to know it. I tried various NHibernate events (IPostUpdateEventListener, IFlushEntityEventListener, etc.) but did not succeed. Can anybody help please? Thanks

• Seems like IE animates/processes my loading.gif even though I have set display:none?

  I believe this is happening because whenever I perform an ajax request (upon which the loading.gif is set to display:block) the animation does not start at the same position. The starting point feels random which led me to think the animation still goes on behind the scenes in IE. In Firefox the animation starts from "scratch" all the time. Any ideas?

  We have some legacy string dates that I need to convert to actual dates that can be used to perform some date logic. Converting to a date object isn't a problem if I knew what the format were! That is, some people wrote 'dd month yy', othes 'mon d, yyyy', etc. So, I was wondering if anybody knew of a py module that attempts to guess date formats and rewrites them in a uniform way?   Is there anything wrong with having an asp.net page throw a (custom error) if a a required querystring parameter is missing and having global.asax catch it with Application_Error, then transfer the user to an error page? I have several base classes that perform these checks and I am not sure of the best way to communicate the error to a user. So, something like this: int reqParam; if(!isParamSet("myReqParam", out reqParam)) { throw new QuerystringParamMissingException(); } which is then caught by Application_Error in global.asax.
