  • How do I test SendInput in c#

    - by JoelHess
    How can I tell if my call to SendInput is working properly? I have a small snippet below, and the message never seems to get hit. SendInput() returns 1, and there's no errors, so I assume that the message is going out properly. I've also tried the Form KeyPress and KeyDown Events, and I never seem to get those either. private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { INPUT input = new INPUT(); input.mkhi.ki.wVk = (byte)System.Windows.Forms.Keys.B; uint result = SendInput(1, ref input, Marshal.SizeOf(new INPUT())); } protected override void WndProc(ref Message m) { if (m.Msg == WM_KEYDOWN) { Console.WriteLine("GotIt"); } base.WndProc(ref m); }

  • How to test lib files in Rails?

    - by jerhinesmith
    I understand the benefit of putting classes, modules, etc. in the lib folder in Rails, but I haven't been able to find a clean way of testing these files. For the most part, it seems like unit tests would be the logical approach. I guess my question is: What is the "rails way" for testing lib files?

  • Open source license for test code

    - by Gary
    I'm creating a project to house an iPhone library for common code for the iPhone... essentially it's a library that'll save people from finding solutions to common problems that amount to copying and pasting snippets of code. The site is located here: http://code.google.com/p/devkit-bb/ I licensed it under Eclipse, because fosters the extension of the library without requiring constraints like LGPL on object files being provided/made available, which would be the case since everything is statically linked. What I'm wondering is how/what license to apply to the unit tests? Since they essentially demonstrate how to use various interfaces and components. Thus they're designed for potential copy and paste situations, and I don't want people who might end up using this as part of the building blocks of their environment to feel like the license would prohibit that "derivative work", ie. their application or game.

  • How to prevent HTTP 304 in Django test server

    - by Augusto Men
    I have a couple of projects in Django and alternate between one and another every now and then. All of them have a /media/ path, which is served by django.views.static.serve, and they all have a /media/css/base.css file. The problem is, whenever I run one project, the requests to base.css return an HTTP 304 (not modified), probably because the timestamp hasn't changed. But when I run the other project, the same 304 is returned, making the browser use the file cached by the previous project (and therefore, using the wrong stylesheet). Just for the record, here are the middleware classes: MIDDLEWARE_CLASSES = ( 'django.middleware.common.CommonMiddleware', 'django.contrib.sessions.middleware.SessionMiddleware', 'django.contrib.auth.middleware.AuthenticationMiddleware', 'django.middleware.transaction.TransactionMiddleware', ) I always use the default address http://localhost:8000. Is there another solution (other than using different ports - 8001, 8002, etc.)?

  • How do I use test/beta Perl modules from test Perl scripts?

    - by DVK
    If my Perl code has a production code location and "beta" code location (e.g. production Perl code us in /usr/code/scripts, BETA Perl code is in /usr/code/beta/scripts; production Perl libraries are in /usr/code/lib/perl and BETA versions of those libraries are in /usr/code/beta/lib/perl, is there an easy way for me to achieve such a setup? The exact requirements are: The code must be THE SAME in production and BETA location. To clarify, to promote any code (library or script) from BETA to production, the ONLY thing which needs to happen is literally issuing cp command from BETA to prod location - both the file name AND file contents must remain identical. BETA versions of scripts must call other BETA scripts and BETA libraries (if exist) or production libraries (if BETA libraries do not exist) The code paths must be the same between BETA and production with the exception of base directory (/usr/code/ vs /usr/code/beta/) I will present how we solved the problem as an answer to this question, but I'd like to know if there's a better way.

  • Bad http connection (400) from Simple Native Iphone App to test .net Web Service

    - by leo
    Dear all, I have written a simple hello world .net web service which will accept 2 parameters and return the parameters as a string. The web service is hosted by IIS on a windows xp pc. I am able to access the web service using safari on the iphone simulator, successfully tested the operation using HTTP POST by clicking the "invoke" button. However, when I use the native app on the iphone simulator, I keep getting a bad http connection error 400 on the IIS log. I have tested my native app with http://viium.com/WebService/HelloWorld.asmx and it works. I have already added Does anyone know what is wrong? Is it some settings that have not configured correctly? Thank you very much in advance.

  • How to test PHP in MySQL Strict

    - by Ben Sinclair
    I had a client who had MySQL Strict which brought up a few errors in my MySQL code... I didn't even know there was a MySQL Strict. I've fixed up a lot of the issues but I want to run some further tests on my local server. How do I enable MySQL Strict for testing purposes and then disable it when I no longer want it?

  • design business class for unit test

    - by Mauro Destro
    I'm trying to clean my code to make it unit-testable. I know that unit tests must be created while coding but... I have to do it now, with code completed. My business class is full of methods with a similar implementation like: var rep=new NHrepository<ModelClass1>(Session); rep.Where(x=>x.Field1==1).ToList(); first error (from my point of view) is that I don't have to use "new" but instead use DI and add in the ctor parameters a INHrepository modelClass1Repository. If in my class I have two or more repository of different model class? Each must be in the ctor? Or probably business class is not build with SeparationOfConcern principle?

  • Integration Test Example With Rhino Mocks

    - by guazz
    I have two classes. I would like to verify that the properties are called on one of the classes. public classA { public IBInterface Foo {get;set;} public LoadData() { Foo.Save(1.23456, 1.23456); } } public classB : IBInterface { public decimal ApplePrice {get; set;} public decimal OrangePrice {get; set;} public void Save(decimal param1, decimal param2) { this.ApplePrice = param1; this.OrangePrice = param2; } } I would like to use Rhino Mocks(AAA syntax) to verify that ApplePrice and OrangePrice were set correctly. I assume I should begin like so but how do I verify that ApplePrice and OrangePrice have been set? var mockInterfaceB = mockery.DynamicMock(); ClassA a = new ClassA(); a.Foo = mockInterfaceB; a.LoadData();

  • need help passing multiple variables from foreach loop to test in switch case statement

    - by Brad
    $list_of_groups = array("FACULTY","STAFF"); foreach ($list_of_groups as $i => $group) { $user_in_group = $adldap->user_ingroup($username,$group); print "<h2>Group: ".$group." user in group? ".$user_in_group."</h2>"; // if 1, means yes } Need to print run the appropriate function based on what returns true. There are user's that are members of both FACULTY and STAFF groups, so I want to check for those users and display the appropriate content for them. So if the user is both faculty and staff, then display this, if they are only of staff, display that, same for faculty, might not make sense, but I will write out some code "in theory" that will help you understand what I am trying to do switch(Get group membership of user) { case "FACULTY": print "Faculty group member"; break; case "STAFF": print "Staff group member"; break; case "FACULTY and STAFF": print "Member of both faculty and staff"; break; } I am unsure on how it will check if they are members of both groups and run that thru the case statement to display the appropriate message. The foreach look currently runs thru every group the user belongs to, prints out the ones from the $list_of_groups and the number 1 to the right of it, signifying they belong to it. The problem I have is trying to use that information to run thru the case statement, I am unsure of how to go about that. This is what it prints out for the user currently passed thru the foreach loop: Group: FACULTY user in group? 1 Group: STAFF user in group? 1 Any help is appreciated.

  • PHP Special Characters Test

    - by pws5068
    What's an efficient way of checking if a username contains a number of special characters that I define. Examples: % # ^ . ! @ & ( ) + / " ? ` ~ < { } [ ] | = - ; I need to detect them and return a boolean, not just strip them out. Probably a super easy question but I need a better way of doing this than a huge list of conditionals or a sloppy loop.

  • Perl file test operator help

    - by Aaron Moodie
    This is a really basic issue, but I'm new to perl and cannot work out what the issue is. I'm just trying to isolate the files in a directory, but the -d operator keeps treating all the folder contents as files ... @contents is my array, and when I run this: foreach $item(@contents) { if (-d $item) { next; } print"$item is a file\n"; } I keep getting both folders and files. Alternatively, if I use -f, I get nothing. edit: this is the output - file01.txt is a file folder 01 is a file folder 02 is a file Screen shot 2010-04-18 at 1.26.17 PM.png is a file I'm running this on OSX

  • How do you unit test Scala in Eclipse?

    - by Jørgen Fogh
    I am learning Scala and would like to set up integrated unit testing in Eclipse. As far as I can tell from googling, ScalaTest is the way to go, possibly in combination with JUnit. What are your experiences with unit testing Scala in Eclipse? Should I use the JUnit runner or something else?

  • Too Many Public Methods Forced by Test Driven Development

    - by RoryG
    A very specific question from a novice to TDD: I seperate my tests and my app into different packages. Thus, most of my app methods have to be public for tests to access them. As I progress, it becomes obvious that some methods could become private, but if I make that change, the tests that access them won't work. Am I missing a step, or doing something wrong, or is this just one downfall of TDD?

  • Visual Studio add-in to quickly test a code snippet

    - by Matti Virkkunen
    One thing I really love about languages such as Python is that if you have a piece of code you'd like to try out, you can just open the interactive shell and do it in seconds. Is there a Visual Studio add-in that does the same for C#? Basically what I'm looking for is something that opens up a window or tab with a text editor (preferably with code completion, because VS does it so nicely) and a button that runs the code and displays the output. Extra points for convenience features such as displaying complex output in a user-friendly way (think Firebug's console.log), automatically referencing all the assemblies the current project references, etc. I tried googling for a while, but either I fail at coming up with good keywords, or no-one has made an add-in like this. If there really is none, I'm considering making one myself.

  • Unit Test ouput in MSBuild/TFS 2008

    - by Adam Jenkin
    I have a build in TFS 2008 which includes the running of a UnitTest project. I have configured my build as such that in the drop folder after each build, I get a StyleCop.log, FxCop.log and would like to place the trx or output from the unit tests here also. I can see that my unit tests are running as part of the build, however currently I cannot find were the output is saved to or find a way of setting the ouput to my drop location ($(DropLocation)\$(BuildNumber)\MyUnitTests.txt) My unit tests are included by using the following:- <RunTest>true</RunTest> ... <ItemGroup> <TestContainer Include="$(OutDir)\%2aMyUnitTests.dll" /> </ItemGroup> Can somebody help explain how I can achieve this.

  • Problem with IE and Jquery qTip plugin

    - by user272899
    I am having problems with the Jquery qtip plugin. It works fine in Firefox (see here http://movieo.no-ip.org/ hover over the first image). But doesn't work in IE. This is the code: $('.moviebox').each(function() { $(this).qtip({ content: $(this).children('.info'), show: 'mouseover', hide: 'mouseout', style: { name: 'light' }, position: { corner: { target: 'rightbottom', tooltip: 'bottomleft' } } }); }); And the html <!--start moviebox--> <div class="moviebox"> <a href="#"> <img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mySxtRcQIag/S6deHcoChaI/AAAAAAAAObc/Z1Xg3aB_wkU/s200/rising_sun.jpg" /> </a> <!--start infobox--> <div class="info"> <span>Rising Sun (2006)</span> <div class="description"><strong>Description:</strong><br /> test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test</div> <img src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_mySxtRcQIag/S6deHcoChaI/AAAAAAAAObc/Z1Xg3aB_wkU/s200/rising_sun.jpg" /> <div class="cast"><strong>Cast:</strong><br /> Sean connery</div> <div class="rating"><strong>Rating:</strong><br />5stars</div> </div> <!--end infobox--> </div> <!--end moviebox--> Why wouldn't that work in IE?????   • advanced Visual Studio kung-fu test -- Calling functions from the Immediate Window during debugging

    - by kizzx2
    I see some related questions have been asked, but they're either too advanced for me to grasp or lacking a step-by-step guide from start to finish (most of them end up being insider talk of their own experiment results). OK here it is, given this simple program: #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h> int main() { FILE * f; char buffer[100]; memset(buffer, 0, 100); fun(); f = fopen("main.cpp", "r"); fread(buffer, 1, 99, f); printf(buffer); fclose(f); return 0; } What it does is basically print itself (assume file name is main.cpp). Question How can I have it print another file, say foobar.txt without modifying the source code? It has something to do with running it through VS's, stepping through the functions and hijacking the FILE pointer right before fread() is called. No need to worry about leaking resources by calling fclose(). I tried the simple f = fopen("foobar.txt", "r") which gave CXX0017: Error: symbol "fopen" not found Any ideas? Edit I found out the solution accidentally on Debugging Mozilla on Windows FAQ. The correct command to put into the Immediate Window is f = {,,MSVCR100D}fopen("foo.txt", "r") However, it doesn't really answer this question: I still don't understand what is going on here. How to systematically find out the {,,MSVCR100D} part for any given method? I know the MSVCR version changes from system to system. How can I find that out? Could anyone explain the curly brace syntax, especially, what are those two commas doing there? Are there more hidden gems using this syntax?
