  • Launching a PHP daemon from an LSB init script w/ start-stop-daemon

    - by EvanK
I'm writing an lsb init script (admittedly something I've never done from scratch) that launches a php script that daemonizes itself. The php script starts off like so: #!/usr/bin/env php <?php /* do some stuff */ It's then started like so in the init script: # first line is args to start-stop-daemon, second line is args to php-script start-stop-daemon --start --exec /path/to/executable/php-script.php \ -- --daemon --pid-file=$PIDFILE --other-php-script-args The --daemon flag causes the php script to detach & run as a daemon itself, rather than relying on start-stop-daemon to detach it. This is how it's (trying to) stop it in the init script: start-stop-daemon --stop --oknodo --exec /path/to/executable/php-script.php \ --pidfile $PIDFILE The problem is, when I try to stop via the init script, it gives me this: $ sudo /etc/init.d/my-lsb-init-script stop * Stopping My Project No /path/to/executable/php-script.php found running; none killed. ...done. A quick peek at ps tells me that, even though the php script itself is executable, its running as php <script> rather than the script name itself, which is keeping start-stop-daemon from seeing it. The PID file is even being generated, but it seems to ignore it and try to find+kill by process name instead. $ ps ax | grep '/path/to/executable/php-script.php' 2505 pts/1 S 0:01 php /path/to/executable/php-script.php --daemon --pid-file /var/run/blah/blah.pid --other-php-script-args 2507 pts/1 S 0:00 php /path/to/executable/php-script.php --daemon --pid-file /var/run/blah/blah.pid --other-php-script-args 2508 pts/1 S 0:00 php /path/to/executable/php-script.php --daemon --pid-file /var/run/blah/blah.pid --other-php-script-args 2509 pts/1 S 0:00 php /path/to/executable/php-script.php --daemon --pid-file /var/run/blah/blah.pid --other-php-script-args 2518 pts/1 S 0:01 php /path/to/executable/php-script.php --daemon --pid-file /var/run/blah/blah.pid --other-php-script-args $ cat /var/run/blah/blah.pid 2518 Am I completely misunderstanding something here? Or is there an easy way to work around this?

  • Setting up quotas on 64-bit RHEL6 OS with ext4 filesystem

    - by Rob Mangiafico
Setting up a new 64 bit RHEL 6 server with ext4 FS. Have only worked with ext3 and 32bit RHEL5 before. No matter what I try, I cannot get it to work. Current settings for mount (from "mount" command): /dev/sda7 on / type ext4 (rw,noatime) proc on /proc type proc (rw) sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw) devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620) tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw,noexec, nosuid) /dev/sdb1 on /backup type ext4 (rw) /dev/sda1 on /boot type ext4 (rw,noatime) /dev/sda8 on /home type ext4 (rw,noatime,usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group,jqfmt=vfsv0) /dev/sda2 on /tmp type ext4 (rw,noexec, noatime) /dev/sda6 on /usr type ext4 (rw,noatime) /dev/sda5 on /var type ext4 (rw,noatime,usrjquota=aquota.user,jqfmt=vfsv0) none on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc (rw) Essentially trying to get user/group quotas on /home, and user quotas on /var. Created the aquota.user and aquota.group files on /home and /var: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Nov 17 13:37 /home/aquota.group -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Nov 17 13:37 /home/aquota.user -rw------- 1 root root 0 Nov 17 11:43 /var/aquota.user When I run quoatcheck I get: quotacheck -vguma quotacheck: WARNING - Quotafile /home/aquota.user was probably truncated. Cannot save quota settings... quotacheck: WARNING - Quotafile /home/aquota.group was probably truncated. Cannot save quota settings... quotacheck: WARNING - Quotafile /var/aquota.user was probably truncated. Cannot save quota settings... Then I attempt quotaon and get: quotaon -av quotaon: Cannot find quota file on /home [/dev/sda8] to turn quotas on/off. quotaon: Cannot find quota file on /home [/dev/sda8] to turn quotas on/off. quotaon: Cannot find quota file on /var [/dev/sda5] to turn quotas on/off. quota rpms installed: rpm -qa|grep -i quota quota-3.17-16.el6.x86_64 quota-devel-3.17-16.el6.x86_64 Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or what I should adjust to get quotas to work as they do in ext3/32bit?

  • Problem: Munin Graph

I've been trying to install Munin for 15 days, I looked for information, analized logs, I even deleted and reinstalled Munin using YUM. I'm hosted at Media Temple on a VPS with CentOS. I can not get any errors to display on screen on write to a log file. When check phpinfo() print out I have same value of master a local for display_errors On display_startup_errors On error_log /var/log/php.log error_reporting E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE log_errors On log_errors_max_len ls -l /var/log/php.log is -rw-rw-rw- 1 root root 0 Jun 21 07:47 /var/log/php.log for /var and /varlog drwxrwxrwx 23 root root 4096 Jun 2 11:13 var when there is an error in the code the page the browsers shows nothing and browser says there is no source for the page. Any suggestions of where else to look or change to errors to appear somewhere (anywhere would be good) edit: my error script is now <?php ini_set('display_errors', 1); error_reporting(E_ALL); echo "print from error.php 2 "; error //print from erroerror to cuase logging to happen. ?> this will print on display and to log Notice: Use of undefined constant error - assumed 'error' in /var/www/piku_dev2/error.php on line 7 but if I put garbage like #@$%$ on the error line I get nor error messages anywhere. Edit2: The problem turned out to in the httpd.conf file. I don't know what it was yet as it was fixed y someone else.

  • fsck on LVM snapshots

    - by Alpha01
I'm trying to do some file system checks using LVM snapshots of our Logical Volumes to see if any of them have dirty file systems. The problem that I have is that our LVM only has one Volume Group with no available space. I was able to do fsck's on some of the logical volumes using a loopback file system. However my question is, is it possible to create a 200GB loopback file system, and saved it on the same partition/logical volume that I'll be taking a snapshot of? Is LVM smart enough to not take a snapshot copy of the actual snapshot? [root@server z]# vgdisplay --- Volume group --- VG Name Web2-Vol System ID Format lvm2 Metadata Areas 1 Metadata Sequence No 29 VG Access read/write VG Status resizable MAX LV 0 Cur LV 6 Open LV 6 Max PV 0 Cur PV 1 Act PV 1 VG Size 544.73 GB PE Size 4.00 MB Total PE 139450 Alloc PE / Size 139450 / 544.73 GB Free PE / Size 0 / 0 VG UUID BrVwNz-h1IO-ZETA-MeIf-1yq7-fHpn-fwMTcV [root@server z]# df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/sda2 9.7G 3.6G 5.6G 40% / /dev/sda1 251M 29M 210M 12% /boot /dev/mapper/Web2--Vol-var 12G 1.1G 11G 10% /var /dev/mapper/Web2--Vol-var--spool 12G 184M 12G 2% /var/spool /dev/mapper/Web2--Vol-var--lib--mysql 30G 15G 14G 52% /var/lib/mysql /dev/mapper/Web2--Vol-usr 13G 3.3G 8.9G 27% /usr /dev/mapper/Web2--Vol-z 468G 197G 267G 43% /z /dev/mapper/Web2--Vol-tmp 3.0G 76M 2.8G 3% /tmp tmpfs 7.9G 92K 7.9G 1% /dev/shm The logical volume in question is /dev/mapper/Web2--Vol-z. I'm afraid if I created the loopback file system in /dev/mapper/Web2--Vol-z and take a snapshot of it, the disk size will be trippled in size, thus running out of disk space available.

  • Why isn't MediaWiki loading?

    - by E L
I recently set up MediaWiki on an Apache server with PostgreSQL. It installed successfully. However, when I try to access the website, I get a blank page. The error log reports the following. [error] PHP Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/var/www/mediawiki-1.19.2/LocalSettings.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php') in /var/www/mediawiki-1.19.2/includes/WebStart.php on line 134 [error] PHP Warning: require_once(/var/www/mediawiki-1.19.2/LocalSettings.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /var/www/mediawiki-1.19.2/includes/WebStart.php on line 134 [error] PHP Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/var/www/mediawiki-1.19.2/LocalSettings.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php') in /var/www/mediawiki-1.19.2/includes/WebStart.php on line 134 I've seen other people with similar problems and the solutions have involved using chmod on LocalSettings.php to 644 or in other cases 755. Others have said using chown to make LocalSettings match the Apache user, which is just 'apache' in my case. None of these solutions have worked for me. Does anyone have other suggestions or maybe I missed something?

  • Phpmyadmin location for nginx

    - by multiformeinggno
    I installed nginx and phpmyadmin. I set up a domain with these parameters to test phpmyadmin: server { listen 80; server_name domain.com; root /usr/share/phpmyadmin; index index.php; fastcgi_index index.php; location ~ \.php$ { include /etc/nginx/fastcgi.conf; fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME /usr/share/phpmyadmin$fastcgi_script_name; fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; } } And everything works properly (if I visit the domain I can login to phpmyadmin). The problem is that it was just for testing phpmyadmin, now I'd like to move this to my 'default' site. But I can't figure out how to have it on /phpmyadmin. Here's the config for the 'default' nginx site (where I'd like to put this /phpmyadmin location): server { server_name blabla; access_log /var/log/nginx/$host.access.log; error_log /var/log/nginx/error.log; root /var/www/default; index index.php index.html; location / { try_files $uri $uri/ index.php; } location ~ \.php$ { include /etc/nginx/fastcgi.conf; fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; } ### NginX Status location /nginx_status { stub_status on; access_log off; } ### FPM Status location ~ ^/(status|ping)$ { fastcgi_pass unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock; access_log off; } }

  • puppet cert mismatch in ec2

    - by Stick
I'm setting up a puppetmaster (2.7.6) in ec2 via gems (on rhel6) and I'm running into problems with the cert names and getting the master able to talk to itself. my puppet.conf looks like this: [main] logdir = /var/log/puppet rundir = /var/run/puppet vardir = /var/lib/puppet ssldir = $vardir/ssl pluginsync = true environment = production report = true certname = master When I start the puppetmaster process the ssl directory looks like: ssl/private_keys/master.pem ssl/crl.pem ssl/public_keys/master.pem ssl/ca/ca_crl.pem ssl/ca/signed/master.pem ssl/ca/ca_crt.pem ssl/ca/ca_pub.pem ssl/ca/ca_key.pem ssl/certs/ca.pem ssl/certs/master.pem I have an /etc/hosts entry on the box to point the 'puppet' hostname to localhost so that I don't have to change the 'server' option. When I run the agent I get the following: # puppet agent --test info: Retrieving plugin err: /File[/var/lib/puppet/lib]: Failed to generate additional resources using 'eval_generate: Server hostname 'puppet' did not match server certificate; expected master err: /File[/var/lib/puppet/lib]: Could not evaluate: Server hostname 'puppet' did not match server certificate; expected master Could not retrieve file metadata for puppet://puppet/plugins: Server hostname 'puppet' did not match server certificate; expected master err: Could not retrieve catalog from remote server: Server hostname 'puppet' did not match server certificate; expected master warning: Not using cache on failed catalog err: Could not retrieve catalog; skipping run err: Could not send report: Server hostname 'puppet' did not match server certificate; expected master If I specify the certname as the server (with corresponding hosts entry) I get: # puppet agent --test --server master info: Retrieving plugin err: /File[/var/lib/puppet/lib]: Could not evaluate: Could not retrieve information from environment production source(s) puppet://master/plugins info: Caching catalog for master info: Applying configuration version '1321805956' notice: Finished catalog run in 0.05 seconds Which is success of a sort, that source error will bite me later when I'm applying manifests. I've tried a couple of other variations with using the ec2 private hostname and gotten mixed results. I'd like to avoid setting server = 'x' and use dns/hosts to control what 'puppet' resolves to in order to decide which server (plays easier with availability zones, etc)

  • Can't make virtual host working

    - by sica07
I have to create a virtual host on a server which, previously hosted a single website (domain name). Now I'm trying to add a second domain on this server (using the same nameserver). What I've done so far: Initially there was no virtual host so I've made one for the second domain: NameVirtualHost *:80 <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/bla ServerName www.blabla.com ServerAlias blabla.com <Directory /var/www/blabla> Order deny, allow Allow from all AllowOverride All </Directory> </VirtualHost *:80> Because nothing happend, I changed the DocumentRoot of the apache server to /var/www (initially was the root document of the first website -/var/www/html) and created a virtual host for the first domain too: <VirtualHost *:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/html ServerName www.first.com ServerAlias first.com <Directory /var/www/html> Order deny, allow Allow from all AllowOverride All </Directory> </VirtualHost *:80> In this case, first.com is working ok, but bla.com not. When I ping blabla.com I get the "unkown host" response. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to modify something in the DNS settings too? Thank you.

  • Pure-FTPD accounts and permissions for websites

    - by EddyR
I'm having trouble setting up the appropriate Pure-FTPD accounts and permissions - I have the following sites setup up on my Debian server. /var/www/site1 /var/www/site2 /var/www/wordpress The permissions are 775 for folders and 664 for files. The owner is currently admin:ftpgroup Wordpress also requires special permissions for file uploads in /var/www/wordpress/wp-content/uploads What I need is: a general admin group with access to /var/www a group for each site (site1, site2, wordpress) and a group or user, not www-data (?), with permissions to write files to the wordpress upload folder I ask because restrictions on linux groups (can't have groups in groups) makes it a little bit confusing and also because many of the tutorial sites have conflicting information like, some recommend the use of www-data and some don't. Also, I'm not sure if I understand how Pure-FTP is supposed to work exactly. I create a Pure-FTPD account and assign it a directory (/var/www) and a system user (ftpuser) and group (ftpgroup): Can I assign more than 1 path? For example, if a user requires access to 2 sites. Is it better to assign ftpgroup to all ftp locations and let Pure-FTPD manage account access? Why would anyone have more than 1 ftpuser or ftpgroup? (Doesn't it mean users have access to everyone else's files if they could get there?) Sorry for so many questions at once. I've been reading lots of tutorials but I think they've ended up making me more confused!

  • Problem running mysql client, cannot connect to mysql server

    - by ehsanul
Edit3: Thanks for the help everyone. Sorry for wasting anybody's time, but it seems like a simple reboot solved it. I should've known better, but I just had the assumption that the "restart" solution is mostly valid just for MS Windows (no offense). I'll keep this in mind before I ask a question here again. I installed the mysql-client-5.0 and mysql-server-5.0 packages on Ubuntu 8.04, using sudo apt-get install. When I try to run the "mysql" command, I get the following error: ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) To verify that mysql server is running, I tried this, and it does seem to be running, with the correct socket too: $ ps aux | grep mysql root 13388 0.0 0.0 1772 528 ? Note that I'm completely new to mysql. Edit: As requested in comments, the exact command that is returning the error is simply "sudo mysql". And when I check netstats for active networks services, I do see an entry for port 3306, with Protocol: tcp, IP Source: 127.0.0.1, State: LISTEN Edit2: It appears as if the /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock socket doesn't exist (if I'm interpreting the following output correctly): $ ls -al /var/run/mysqld/ total 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 mysql root 40 2009-08-06 06:36 . drwxr-xr-x 20 root root 860 2009-08-06 06:25 ..

  • Sticky connection and HTTPS support for HAProxy

    - by Saif
We have 2 HTTP Load balancer with HAproxy and heartbeat. There are 4 apache nodes in this cluster. It's doing round robin load balancing. The HTTP cluster working fine. We are having problem with our portal because it uses SSO. We need sticky connection support in our HAproxy. Also we need load balancing for HTTPS traffic. Here's our HAproxy conf file. global # to have these messages end up in /var/log/haproxy.log you will # need to: # # 1) configure syslog to accept network log events. • django, mod_wsgi, MySQL High CPU - Problems

    - by Red Rover
Good Evening, and thank you for reading this post. I am having a problem with Django after migrating the dB from SQLlite to MySQL. Initially, for the first 48hours, all ran well. • 'txn-current-lock': Permission denied [500, #13] - Subversion + Apache Configuration Issue

    - by wfoster
Current Setup Fedora 13 32bit Apache 2.2.16 Subversion repositories setup under /var/www/svn I have two different repositories under this directory so my /etc/httpd/conf.d/subversion.conf setup in this way; LoadModule dav_svn_module modules/mod_dav_svn.so LoadModule authz_svn_module modules/mod_authz_svn.so <Location /svn> DAV svn SVNListParentPath on SVNParentPath /var/www/svn <LimitExcept GET PROPFIND OPTIONS REPORT> AuthType Basic AuthName "Subversion Repository" AuthUserFile /etc/httpd/.htpasswd Require valid-user </LimitExcept> </Location> After copying over my repos and using; chmod 755 -R /var/www/svn chcon -R -t httpd_sys_content_t /var/www/svn chown apache:apache -R /var/www/svn I can browse my repos fine through the browser, and I can update all my working copies, however when I try to check in from anywhere I get the same error Can't open file '/var/www/svn/repo/db/txn-current-lock':Permission denied I have been working on this issue for a while now and cant seem to find a solution to my issues. It might be of some use to know that the repo existed on a different server before this, it has been now moved to this new server. Everything I have read seems to indicate that the permissions for apache are incorrect, however apache is set to run as User apache and Group apache. So as far as I can tell my setup is correct. The behavior is not though. Any Ideas? Solution The only way I was able to get this to work is to disable SELinux, it could also be done by setting the proper booleans with SELinux via setsetbool and getsebool since this is just a home server, I decided to disable SELinux and am reaping the benefits now.

  • Incomplete Apache logging

    - by Manz
I have a problem with Apache running on a Linux server. This error undefined index on PHP, for example. The problem is that my Apache server doesn't log entire error messages. Some lines from the error.log file: [Thu Nov 29 05:29:06 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Undefined index: lin [Thu Nov 29 05:29:06 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: 9 [Thu Nov 29 05:31:30 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Undefined index: link in /var/www/html/sit [Thu Nov 29 06:01:18 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Undefined index: link in /var [Thu Nov 29 06:06:09 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Undefined [Thu Nov 29 06:06:15 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Undefined index: [Thu Nov 29 06:13:04 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PH [Thu Nov 29 07:14:16 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Undef [Thu Nov 29 07:32:16 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Undefined index: link in /var/www/ht [Thu Nov 29 07:34:26 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Undefined index: link [Thu Nov 29 07:34:30 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Undefined index: link in /var/www/html/site.com/ [Thu Nov 29 07:41:10 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Und [Thu Nov 29 07:41:11 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Und [Thu Nov 29 07:41:12 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Und [Thu Nov 29 08:14:20 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Undef [Thu Nov 29 12:36:54 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Undefined index: li [Thu Nov 29 12:37:04 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Unde [Thu Nov 29 12:46:52 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Notice: Undefined index: link in /var/www/htm [Thu Nov 29 13:00:33 2012] [warn] mod_fcgid: stderr: line 35 [Thu Nov 29 13:10:55 2012] [error] [client XXX.XX.XX.XX] File does not exist: /var/www/h Some lines are incomplete and truncate the error message. • Test whether svn REPO changes are reflected in Working Copy

    - by user492160
Requirement Changes will be made to the REPO directory and this should get updated to wc(working copy) as opposed to the normal way of WC REPO. Senario: My svn repo- /var/www/svn/drupal My checkout-dir/working-copy- /var/www/html/drupalsite So I've done: edited post-commit hook to contain: "/usr/bin/svn update /var/www/html/drupalsite" I won't make any change to svn WC. I'll make changes to svn REPO- /var/www/svn/drupal. After changes are made to svn repo, run "svn commit /var/www/html/drupalsite". This will trigger the post-commit hook. This inturn will run "svn update /var/www/svn/drupal" and thus my WC will get updated with the changes of REPO. Query a. Would the above steps 1-3 help achieve my 'Requirement'? b. I'd need advise on how to test if the above setup works successfully or not. I'm at loss about the success of steps 1-3 the reason why query(a) is present. This is a bit more of a concern for me. NB: I'm new to subversion. Whatever I've configured till now have been done by reading articles online. Reason for query (b) is because I'm not into development. It seems to be a php drupal website and I happen to be setting it up. So I'm not aware as to how to make a "PROPER" change in REPO so that it gets reflected in WC. If reflected, my configs are right and the team can start on development. I manually put a random file/folder into REPO dir for seeing a change in WC and ran steps 1-3 but was of no avail and later on learned that it was NOT the way to make a change to a REPO. Pleas advise. Thanks

  • Subversion all or nothing access to repo tree

    - by Glader
I'm having some problems setting up access to my Subversion repositories on a Linux server. The problem is that I can only seem to get an all-or-nothing structure going. Either everyone gets read access to everything or noone gets read or write access to anything. The setup: SVN repos are located in /www/svn/repoA,repoB,repoC... Repositories are served by Apache, with Locations defined in etc/httpd/conf.d/subversion.conf as: <Location /svn/repoA> DAV svn SVNPath /var/www/svn/repoA AuthType Basic AuthName "svn repo" AuthUserFile /var/www/svn/svn-auth.conf AuthzSVNAccessFile /var/www/svn/svn-access.conf Require valid-user </Location> <Location /svn/repoB> DAV svn SVNPath /var/www/svn/repoB AuthType Basic AuthName "svn repo" AuthUserFile /var/www/svn/svn-auth.conf AuthzSVNAccessFile /var/www/svn/svn-access.conf Require valid-user </Location> ... svn-access.conf is set up as: [/] * = [/repoA] * = userA = rw [/repoB] * = userB = rw But checking out URL/svn/repoA as userA results in Access Forbidded. Changing it to [/] * = userA = r [/repoA] * = userA = rw [/repoB] * = userB = rw gives userA read access to ALL repositories (including repoB) but only read access to repoA! so in order for userA to get read-write access to repoB i need to add [/] userA = rw which is mental. I also tried changing Require valid-user to Require user userA for repoA in subversion.conf, but that only gave me read access to it. I need a way to default deny everyone access to every repository, giving read/write access only when explicitly defined. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? I have spent a couple of hours testing and googling but come up empty, so now I'm doing the post of shame.

  • Trouble installing SSL Certificate on Apache

    - by jahufar
We have a dedicated server with GoDaddy running Plesk that requires SSL. I've generated the certificate files and I created a vhost_ssl.conf (since I can't edit the default plesk apache configuration http.include, vhost_ssl.conf gets Included to httpd.include) that tells apache where to find the certificate files: SSLCertificateFile /usr/local/psa/var/certificates/domain.com.crt SSLCertificateKeyFile /usr/local/psa/var/certificates/domain.com.key SSLCertificateChainFile /usr/local/psa/var/certificates/sub.class1.server.ca.pem When I stop/start apache, it refuses to start up. The error_log does not have anything on it either (which is strange). Then I opened up httpd.include and found this bit: <VirtualHost 208.xxx.xxx.xxx:443> ServerName domain.com:443 ServerAlias www.domain.com UseCanonicalName Off SSLEngine on SSLVerifyClient none SSLCertificateFile /usr/local/psa/var/certificates/certagC9054 Include /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/conf/vhost_ssl.conf Then I commented out SSLCertificateFile /usr/local/psa/var/certificates/certagC9054 (which is plesk's SSL certificate) and restarted apache and it worked perfectly fine. It seems that Apache does not like multiple SSLCertificateFile within the same VirtualHost directive? As anyone who worked with plesk knows, I can't just remove SSLCertificateFile directive in httpd.include as plesk will overwrite my changes when someone uses it - which is why it's in vhost_ssl.conf. So I'm stuck and this is beyond my meager admin skills. Would appreciate someone who knows what (s)he's doing to tell me whats going on. Thanks in advance.

  • HAproxy with MySQL Master-Master Replication incredibly slow

    - by Yayap
I have two MySQL servers in multi-master mode, with an HAproxy machine for simple load balancing/redundancy. When I am connected to one of the servers directly and try to update about 100,000 entries, it is completed including replication in about half a minute. When connecting through the proxy it takes usually over three whole minutes. Is it normal to have that type of latency? Is something amiss with my proxy configuration (included below)? This is getting really frustrating as I assumed the proxy would do some sort of load balancing, or at least have little to no overhead. #--------------------------------------------------------------------- # Example configuration for a possible web application. See the # full configuration options online. # # http://haproxy.1wt.eu/download/1.4/doc/configuration.txt # #--------------------------------------------------------------------- #--------------------------------------------------------------------- # Global settings #--------------------------------------------------------------------- global # to have these messages end up in /var/log/haproxy.log you will # need to: # # 1) configure syslog to accept network log events. The program was invoked with these options: /usr/bin/rsnapshot hourly ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ERROR: Lockfile /var/run/rsnapshot.pid exists and so does its process, can not continue To me it seems like my 5 min space between halfhourly and hourly is too small. Is this configuration crazy? I like having backups every thirty minutes, that will probably save my ass some day. Please help me make a decent backup schedule, that doesn't clog up the system, but creates frequent enough backups. Thank you.

  • OS X: Storing MySQL data securely, on an encrypted FileVault image using a soft link

    - by GJ
I am trying to get a macports-installed MySQL to use a data directory stored inside my FileVault-protected home dir. I used sudo cp -a /opt/local/var/db/mysql5 ~/db/ (the -a to ensure file permissions remain intact) and then replaced the original mysql5 directory with a soft link: sudo ln -s ~/db/mysql5 /opt/local/var/db/mysql5 However, when I now try to start MySQL it fails. It follows the soft link at least to the extent that it modifies some files in the ~/db/mysql5 dir, notably the error log which gets appended to it this: 110108 15:33:08 mysqld_safe Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /opt/local/var/db/mysql5 110108 15:33:08 [Warning] '--skip-locking' is deprecated and will be removed in a future release.
