  • Getting JSON object from php authentication objective c

    - by iError
    I am trying to authenticate using the below code NSString *urlAsString =[NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://www.myurl.com/abc/authenticate.php"]; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:urlAsString]; NSMutableURLRequest *urlRequest = [NSMutableURLRequest requestWithURL:url]; [urlRequest setTimeoutInterval:30.0f]; [urlRequest setHTTPMethod:@"POST"]; [urlRequest addValue:@"test" forHTTPHeaderField:@"m_username" ]; [urlRequest addValue:@"123" forHTTPHeaderField:@"m_password" ]; [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:urlRequest delegate:self]; NSOperationQueue *queue = [[NSOperationQueue alloc] init]; [NSURLConnection sendAsynchronousRequest:urlRequest queue:queue completionHandler:^(NSURLResponse *response,NSData *data, NSError *error) { if ([data length] >0 && error == nil){ html = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:data encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSLog(@"HTML = %@", html); receivedData = [NSMutableData data]; } else if ([data length] == 0 && error == nil){ NSLog(@"Nothing was downloaded."); } else if (error != nil){ NSLog(@"Error happened = %@", error); } }]; // Start loading data NSURLConnection *theConnection = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:urlRequest delegate:self]; if (theConnection) { // Create the NSMutableData to hold the received data receivedData = [NSMutableData data]; } else { // Inform the user the connection failed. } My username password is correct, I think I am not making the proper call thats why I dont get the desired results and the web service is receiving the null parameters. • Added a tableview in a viewcontroller. How do I load tableview cells

    - by user1509593
    I have a view controller In storyboard, added tableview to view controller. Created an IBOutlet for tableview to View controller's header file. The view controller's header file includes an resultsarray Changed the @interface to include delegates <\UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource View controller implementation file has mandatory tableview protocols (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath The view controller has search button in storyboard and IBAction in view controller header file. On click of search button, results are obtained. How do I load the array and redisplay tableview with results in search method. After I loaded the results in array, I tried [self viewdidload];, hoping the cells will be loaded. But didn't. I thought of calling [self.detailView cellForRowAtIndexPath:?indexpath], but dontknow what the value of index path is. Appreciate help from guru's to load the UItableviewcell Thanks

  • iPhone: How can you draw a piece of an image

    - by Mark
    Code sample - (void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { [super drawRect:rect]; CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGContextSaveGState(context); CGContextTranslateCTM(context, 0, self.frame.size.height); CGContextScaleCTM(context, 1.0, -1.0); CGContextDrawImage(context, CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, self.frame.size.width, self.frame.size.height), [UIImage imageNamed:@"sample.png"].CGImage); CGContextRestoreGState(context); } ================ I would like to copy a certain rect within an image to the context, so not the entire image is drawn but just a piece of the image. Does anyone have a solution for this? I can't find anything on google nor the documentation. I know there are alternatives like: 1. Create a UIView with clipping and then just position the UIImageView within it. 2. Create the UIImageView within the UIScrollView and use content offset. But I think those are lame...

  • Vertically align UILabel

    - by Ashish Agarwal
    I am trying to vertically align the text in the UILabel view of my app. The problem is that I want the text to be vertically aligned to the top and the size of the label to be 280 x 150. I am only able to achieve one of these 2 things. If I remove the line [myLabel sizeToFit]; then the alignment of the text is alright but the size is messed up. But if I add the above line, then the alignment is messed up but the size is alright. How do I fix this problem. I've added the code below - CGRect labelFrame = CGRectMake(22, 50, 280, 150); UILabel *myLabel = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:labelFrame]; [myLabel setText:finalRecipe]; [myLabel setBackgroundColor: [UIColor lightGrayColor]]; [myLabel setNumberOfLines:0]; [myLabel sizeToFit]; [self.view addSubview:myLabel];

  • iOS get file size on disk

    - by F2_CMD
    I'm trying to get the size on disk of a file in iOS using Objective C. As of now I've been able to get the actual size of the file and other file information using NSFileManager and then getting the attributes attributesOfItemAtPath:error but not the size on disk. I also tried getting the file size from struct stat but again it doesn't give me size on disk.I tried using NSTask to make a call to du -h but iOS didn't allow me to fork other processes. Any ideas are welcome :) I know this questions is similar to many others but the difference is that I'm trying to do this in iOS and most of the methods used in other systems don't work here. Thanks

  • rendering a new line in a string (\n) with drawRect

    - by Mrwolfy
    I am trying to render a string with a new line (line break \n), using drawRect. The code below renders the my string as a single line, with no line break, even though I am using the \n character. See the second to last line. UIFont *font = [UIFont fontWithName:@"HelveticaNeue-CondensedBlack" size:fontSize]; CGPoint point = CGPointMake(0,0); CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(); CGContextSetRGBFillColor(context, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0); CGContextSetRGBStrokeColor(context, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0); CGContextSetLineWidth(context, 4.0); CGContextSetTextDrawingMode(context, kCGTextFillStroke); CGContextSaveGState(context); [@"test \n test" drawAtPoint:point withFont:font]; CGContextRestoreGState(context);

  • interface builder breaks on dual display

    - by madmik3
    Hi, I frequently connect and disconnect my laptop from a secondary display. Additionally I work in a small group that uses svn to manage xib files. It seems that if you drag a UIView display into a secondary display in interface builder and save the xib then either disconnect that display or open it on a computer with a secondary display in a different postion (left v right of the screen for example) then the view can't be seen/closed/moved. I've found no work around other than attaching a secondary display in the same position. This can be a real pain. Has anyone found a solution to this? thanks.

  • setBackButtonBackgroundImage without title IOS5

    - by user1736571
    I'm trying to get a back button without a title but I can't make it work. I am really new in objective-c... UIImage *backButtonImage = [[UIImage imageNamed:@"back.png"] resizableImageWithCapInsets:UIEdgeInsetsMake(0, 0, 30, 50)]; [[UIBarButtonItem appearance] setBackButtonBackgroundImage:backButtonImage forState:UIControlStateNormal barMetrics:UIBarMetricsDefault]; With that code I have my back button but also the title of the previous page. I found some working examples using the class UIViewController but in my case the code is in the appDelegate.m file. Any idea how I can make it work ?

  • Calling popToRootViewControllerAnimated causing crash. How should I be doing this?

    - by Lewis42
    The app is for taking body measurements. The user can say I want to measure: legs, arms and neck, in the settings tab and in the main tab there is a view which loops round to take each measurement. This is achieved like so: i have tab controller the first tab has a navigation controller the first view controller on the storyboard and has one segue to itself the board loops round until it has all the measurements then it segues to a different controller the problem is: if the user changes which measurements they are taking in the settings tab, the first tab needs to completely reload, as if the app was just starting up, clearing down the whole nav stack etc. at the moment the tab controller calls popToRootViewControllerAnimated on the navigation controller in the measurements tab, but this is causing a crash. Each screen has a slider control and a call to titleForRow:forComponent: is being called on a deleted view causing it to crash. What am I doing wrong?! Here's the tab bar controller code // TabBarController.m // #import "TabBarController.h" #import "TodaysMeasurementObject.h" #import "AppDelegateProtocol.h" #import "AddMeasurementViewController.h" #import "ReadPerson.h" #import "AppDelegate.h" @interface TabBarController () <UITabBarControllerDelegate> @end @implementation TabBarController bool resetWizardView = false; - (id)initWithNibName:(NSString *)nibNameOrNil bundle:(NSBundle *)nibBundleOrNil { self = [super initWithNibName:nibNameOrNil bundle:nibBundleOrNil]; if (self) { } return self; } - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // Do any additional setup after loading the view. self.delegate = self; [[UIDevice currentDevice] beginGeneratingDeviceOrientationNotifications]; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(orientationChanged:) name:UIDeviceOrientationDidChangeNotification object:nil]; [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] addObserver:self selector:@selector(measurementsSettingsUpdated:) name:@"MeasurementsSettingsUpdated" object:nil]; } - (void) measurementsSettingsUpdated:(NSNotification *) notification { // UINavigationController *navigationController = [self.viewControllers objectAtIndex:0]; // AddMeasurementViewController *addMeasurement = [[AddMeasurementViewController alloc] init]; // [navigationController setViewControllers: [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:addMeasurement, nil]]; resetWizardView = YES; } - (void) viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated { if (![ReadPerson userHasRecords]) { [self setSelectedIndex:3]; } } - (void)orientationChanged:(NSNotification *)notification { // We must add a delay here, otherwise we'll swap in the new view // too quickly and we'll get an animation glitch [self performSelector:@selector(showGraphs) withObject:nil afterDelay:0]; } - (void)showGraphs { UIDeviceOrientation deviceOrientation = [UIDevice currentDevice].orientation; if (deviceOrientation == UIDeviceOrientationLandscapeLeft && !isShowingLandscapeView) { [self performSegueWithIdentifier: @"toGraph" sender: self]; isShowingLandscapeView = YES; } else if (deviceOrientation != UIDeviceOrientationLandscapeLeft && isShowingLandscapeView) { [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; isShowingLandscapeView = NO; } } - (void)viewDidUnload { [super viewDidUnload]; // Release any retained subviews of the main view. } - (void)dealloc { [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] removeObserver:self]; [[UIDevice currentDevice] endGeneratingDeviceOrientationNotifications]; } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation { if(interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight) { [self performSegueWithIdentifier: @"toGraph" sender: self]; } return false; } - (void)tabBarController:(UITabBarController *)tabBarController didSelectViewController:(UIViewController *)viewController { int tbi = tabBarController.selectedIndex; if (tbi == 0) { [[viewController view] setNeedsDisplay]; if (resetWizardView) { [(UINavigationController*)[self.viewControllers objectAtIndex:0] popToRootViewControllerAnimated: NO]; // ******* POP CALLED HERE ****** resetWizardView = false; } } } - (TodaysMeasurementObject*) theAppDataObject { id<AppDelegateProtocol> theDelegate = (id<AppDelegateProtocol>) [UIApplication sharedApplication].delegate; TodaysMeasurementObject* theDataObject; theDataObject = (TodaysMeasurementObject*) theDelegate.theAppDataObject; return theDataObject; } - (BOOL)shouldAutorotate { return NO; } - (NSUInteger)supportedInterfaceOrientations { return UIInterfaceOrientationMaskPortrait; } @end UPDATED - (void) measurementsSettingsUpdated:(NSNotification *) notification { NSMutableArray *viewControllers = [[NSMutableArray alloc] initWithArray: self.viewControllers]; UINavigationController *navigationController = [viewControllers objectAtIndex:0]; AddMeasurementViewController *addMeasurement = [[AddMeasurementViewController alloc] init]; [navigationController setViewControllers: [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:addMeasurement, nil]]; [viewControllers setObject:navigationController atIndexedSubscript:0]; self.viewControllers = viewControllers; } and removed the code from - tabBarController:didSelectViewController: but still the same error. I think the problem is that it's trying to get a value for the slide control after the view has been deleted. But some part of the view must still be alive...? Anyway to kill that off? Or leave it all alive??

  • Adding custom UITableViewCell crashes the simulator.

    - by nevva
    Im trying to build my application using a custom UITableViewCell. This is the code in my UIViewController that adds the viewCell to the table: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSLog(@"------- Tableview --------"); static NSString *MyIdentifier = @"MyIdentifier"; MyIdentifier = @"aCellIdentifier"; MyTableCell *cell = (MyTableCell *)[tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:MyIdentifier]; if(cell == nil) { NSArray *[[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"tblCellView" owner:self options:nil]; cell = tblCell; } [cell setLabelText:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"indexpath.row: %d", indexPath.row]]; //cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleSubtitle reuseIdentifier:MyIdentifier] autorelease]; return cell; } if i uncomment the line above "return cell" it returns a regular UITableViewCell without any errors, but as soon as i try to implement my custom cell it crashes with this error: ------- Tableview -------- 2010-04-23 11:17:33.163 SogetGolf[26935:40b] * Assertion failure in -[UITableView _createPreparedCellForGlobalRow:withIndexPath:], /SourceCache/UIKit_Sim/UIKit-984.38/UITableView.m:4709 2010-04-23 11:17:33.164 SogetGolf[26935:40b] * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'UITableView dataSource must return a cell from tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:' 2010-04-23 11:17:33.165 SogetGolf[26935:40b] Stack: ( ... • Get information from WebPage.

    - by william-hu
    I want to set up an app which can get the information from a particular web page. Then i display the value which got from that page to the iPhone user. Detail:In the webpage on server ,there is the schedule for bus time. If the user input origin and terminus then show the user the time information(list on webpage) in a label. That's all. What i have finished is : Open the iphone app, input two value(origin and terminus) to UITextField. Send the URL to server. Get the page, and show in UIWebView. What my problem next is how should i get the information form that page into another two labels to give the user about the bus time. I have store data in my Array receiveData: self.receivedData = data; I am not clear the data i received is XML or what? And how should i pick-up the value i want. (should i save the value to property list and the read the value?) Thank you so much!

  • How can I prevent a view from covering my tab controller in my tab based application?

    - by helloJello
    I have an application with a Tab Bar Controller that has three tabs. In tab 1 there is a view (view1) with a button that when clicked transitions the user to a new view (view2) still within tab 1. However when this new view (view2) is loaded it covers my tab bar controller. What is the best approach for me to take to still display tab bar controller as well as keep tab 1 highlighted?

  • release viewcontroller after presenting modally

    - by Jonathan
    I was watching CS193P Stanford course on Itunes, and in one of the lectures a demo was given and There it was said you could present the viewcontroller modally and then release it. Roughly like this (I know this isn't perfect but I'm on my PC atm) [self.view presentcontentmodally:myVC] [myVC release]; However this seems to produce problems. If I put a NSLog(@"%d", [myVC retainCount]) between those two lines then it returns 2 implying it is ok to release. However when I dismiss the myVC the app crashes. Nothing in the NSlog and the debugger won't show where it stopped. But I used malloc-history or something that some blog said would help. And found that it was the myVC. So should I be releasing myVC? (also when the modalVC has been dissmissed should the app's memory usuage go back to before the modalVC was presented?)

  • How do I make it save in x-code?

    - by Nathan
    THIS IS USING X-CODE Okay, so I've put in all of the code in order for a page to be saved in a navigation app. I've also made the table refresh once you enter the main screen, but I don't see the page pop up until the second time I come back. How can I make it so it comes up the first time I come in?
