  • Using spring:nestedPath tag

    - by Ravi
    Hello All, I have this code, I know I'm missing something but don't know what. It would be great if you help me out. I'm new to Spring MVC. I'm trying out a simple Login application in Spring MVC. This is my web.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <web-app version="2.5" xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-app_2_5.xsd"> <listener> <listener-class> org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener </listener-class> </listener> <servlet> <servlet-name>springapp</servlet-name> <servlet-class>org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet</servlet-class> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>springapp</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/app/*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> <session-config> <session-timeout> 30 </session-timeout> </session-config> <welcome-file-list> <welcome-file>index.jsp</welcome-file> </welcome-file-list> here is my springapp-servlet.xml file <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-2.5.xsd"> <bean name="/login" class="springapp.web.LoginController"/> <bean id="viewResolver" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.InternalResourceViewResolver"> <property name="prefix" value="/WEB-INF/jsp/"></property> <property name="suffix" value=".jsp"></property> </bean> This is my applicationContext.xml file <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE beans PUBLIC "-//SPRING//DTD BEAN//EN" "http://www.springframework.org/dtd/spring-beans.dtd"> <beans> <bean id="employee" class="springapp.domain.Employee" /> </beans> Here is my LoginController.java file package springapp.web; import org.springframework.web.servlet.ModelAndView; import org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.SimpleFormController; import springapp.domain.Employee; public class LoginController extends SimpleFormController{ public LoginController(){ setCommandName("loginEmployee"); setCommandClass(Employee.class); setFormView("login"); setSuccessView("welcome"); } @Override protected ModelAndView onSubmit(Object command) throws Exception { return super.onSubmit(command); } } And finally my login.jsp file <%@ taglib uri="http://www.springframework.org/tags" prefix="spring" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Timesheet Login</title> </head> <body> <spring:nestedPath path="employee"> <form action="" method="POST"> <table width="200" border="1" align="center" cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td>Username:</td> <td> <spring:bind path="userName"> <input type="text" name="${status.expression}" id="${status.value}" /> </spring:bind> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>Password</td> <td> <spring:bind path="password"> <input type="password" name="${status.expression}" id="${status.value}" /> </spring:bind> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2"><input type="submit" value="Login" /></td> </tr> </table> </form> </spring:nestedPath> </body> </html> But when I try to run the code I get this error javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.servlet.jsp.JspTagException: Neither BindingResult nor plain target object for bean name 'employee' available as request attribute

  • Haskell Parsec Numeration

    - by Martin
    I'm using Text.ParserCombinators.Parsec and Text.XHtml to parse an input like this: - First type A\n -- First type B\n - Second type A\n -- First type B\n --Second type B\n And my output should be: <h11 First type A\n</h1 <h21.1 First type B\n</h2 <h12 Second type A\n</h2 <h22.1 First type B\n</h2 <h22.2 Second type B\n</h2 I have come to this part, but I cannot get any further: title1= do{ ;(count 1 (char '-')) ;s <- many1 anyChar newline ;return (h1 << s) } title2= do{ ;(count 2 (char '--')) ;s <- many1 anyChar newline ;return (h1 << s) } text=do { ;many (choice [try(title1),try(title2)]) } main :: IO () main = do t putStr "Error: " print err Right x - putStrLn $ prettyHtml x This is ok, but it does not include the numbering. Any ideas? Thanks!

  • COMPLETE list of HTML tag attributes which have a URL value?

    - by system PAUSE
    Besides the following, are there any HTML tag attributes that have a URL as their value? href attribute on tags: <link>, <a>, <area> src attribute on tags: <img>, <iframe>, <frame>, <embed>, <script>, <input> action attribute on tags: <form> data attribute on tags: <object> Looking for tags in wide usage, including non-standard tags and old browsers as well as HTML 4.01, HTML 5, and XHTML. Yes this question is kinda lightweight, but I googled around for about 45 minutes and didn't find this data centralized anywhere, so I figure it might help some other developer to have it here. Plus I'm sure I'm missing something. Feel free to repeat/reorganize this list in your answer. Upvoting the most complete answers will probably be most helpful to others.

    I'm trying to install HTML Purifier http://htmlpurifier.org/ but I get the following error Undefined variable: dirty_html. I was wondering how can I fix this problem? Here is the PHP code. require_once '../../htmlpurifier/library/HTMLPurifier.auto.php'; $config = HTMLPurifier_Config::createDefault(); $config->set('Core.Encoding', 'UTF-8'); // replace with your encoding $config->set('HTML.Doctype', 'XHTML 1.0 Strict'); // replace with your doctype $purifier = new HTMLPurifier($config); $clean_html = $purifier->purify($dirty_html);

  • Quick way to create JSF custom component

    - by michael lucas
    I know of two ways of creating custom JSF components: 1. Native JSF way: creating JSF component class, tag, etc. 2. Facelets way: defining component in a xhtml file and then creating appropriate decrption in facelets taglib. Currently I work on a project in which introducing facelets is unfortunately out of the question. On the other hand, creating custom components the standard JSF way seems like a pain in the ass. Is there maybe a third party library that allows creating custom components in the way similar to facelets but doesn't entail the need of using non-standard renderer?

  • Flash video playing on top of everything else in IE7

    - by Brett
    Hi everyone, I've been spending hours now reading up on IE7's issue with rendering Flash content on top of other elements, particularly navigation menus (this is often a problem with dropdown menus and Flash ad banners, for example). I've tried a few of the suggested solutions but none have worked for me so far. I'll do my best to explain the circumstances, and would appreciate any advice in the matter! Update At Mercator's request, I am providing a large code-sample to assist in any advice you might have. Consider the HTML below: <body> <div id="page-wrap"> <div id="content-wrap"> <div id="main"> <h1>Page Title</h1> <p>Paragraph text before video.</p> <div class="video-container"> <script type="text/javascript"> AC_FL_RunContent('id','player','name','player','width','480','height','294','src','player','allowscriptaccess','always','allowfullscreen','true','flashvars','file=mp4/VIDEO_FILE.mp4','movie','player' ); //end AC code </script> <noscript> <object id="player" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" name="player" width="480" height="294"> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <param name="movie" value="player.swf" /> <param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /> <param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /> <param name="flashvars" value="file=mp4/VIDEO_FILE.mp4" /> <embed wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" id="player2" name="player2" src="player.swf" width="480" height="294" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="file=mp4/VIDEO_FILE.mp4" ></embed> </object> </noscript> </div> <p>Paragraph after video.</p> </div><!-- end main --> <div id="subContent"> <p>Sub-content.</p> </div><!-- end subContent --> <div id="content-clear"></div> </div><!-- end content-wrap --> </div><!-- end page-wrap --> <div id="footpanel"> <ul id="mainpanel"> <li id="panel-link"><a href="#"><span class="icon"></span>Panel Link</a> <div class="subpanel"> <h3><span> &ndash; </span>Panel Link</h3> <ul> <li><p>Revealed content</p></li> </ul> </div> </li> </ul> </div> <!-- END footpanel --> </body> Below are the non-presentational CSS selectors that apply to the divs above: body { /*no positioning styles applied */ } #page-wrap { width: 100%; } #content-wrap { width: 960px; margin 0 auto; } #main { float: left; width: 573px; } .video-container { position: relative; width: 480px; z-index: 1; } #sub { float: left; width: 347px; } #content-clear { clear: both; } #foot-panel { position: fixed; width: 94%; bottom: 0; left: 0; z-index: 3000; } ul#main-panel { float: left; } The footpanel uses jQuery-powered flyout menus, if that provides any further context. These menus have z-indexes in the 300X range to appear above the footpanel. The Flash in question is JW player playing a flash video or mp4. Currently, the object and embed tags are inside a container div. My understanding of previous solutions was that the combination of the param changes and the positioning/z-index change on the container div should have resolved the issue. Alas, it is not so. The player resides on top of the footpanel. Other information that may or may not be helpful is that the page is XHTML 1.0 Transitional and that Dreamweaver reports 1 error in the HTML code: <embed> is not in the XHTML 1.0 specification. This fact does not prevent the video from being viewed in any browser tested, and the page still displays correctly in FF. Thanks in advance!

  • ASP.NET treeview populate child nodes. How can I avoid a postback to server?

    - by mas_oz2k1
    I am trying to test populate on demand for a treeview. I follow the procedure from these links: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/e8z5184w.aspx But the treeview still make a postback to the server if I expanded one of the tree nodes (If you put a breakpoint in the first line of Page_load event), thus refreshing the whole page. I am using VS2005 and Asp.net 2.0 (but the same issue occurs in VS2008) My simple test page markup is: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="aspTreeview.aspx.cs" Inherits="aspTreeview" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head runat="server"> <title>Untitled Page</title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <table> <tr> <td style="height: 80%; width: 45%;"> <asp:Panel ID="Panel1" runat="server" BorderColor="#0033CC" BorderStyle="Solid" ScrollBars="Both"> <asp:TreeView ID="TreeView1" runat="server" ShowLines="True" PopulateNodesFromClient="True" EnableClientScript="True" NodeWrap="True" ontreenodepopulate="TreeView1_TreeNodePopulate" ExpandDepth="0"> </asp:TreeView> </asp:Panel> </td> <td style="width: 10%; height: 80%;" > <div> <asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="->" onclick="Button1_Click" /> </div> <div> <asp:Button ID="Button2" runat="server" Text="<-" /> </div> </td> <td style="width: 136px; height: 80%"> <asp:Panel ID="Panel2" runat="server" BorderColor="Lime" BorderStyle="Solid"> <asp:TreeView ID="TreeView2" runat="server" ShowLines="True" ExpandDepth="0"> </asp:TreeView> </asp:Panel> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td style="width: 136px"> </td> </tr> </table> </div> </form> </body> </html> The code behind is: protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { Debug.WriteLine("Page_Load started."); if (!IsPostBack) { if (Request.Browser.SupportsCallback) Debug.WriteLine("Browser supports callback scripts."); for (int i = 0; i < 3; i++) { TreeNode node = new TreeNode("ENTRY " + i.ToString()); node.Value = i.ToString(); node.PopulateOnDemand = true; node.Expanded = false; TreeView1.Nodes.Add(node); } } Debug.WriteLine("Page_Load finished."); } protected void TreeView1_TreeNodePopulate(object sender, TreeNodeEventArgs e) { TreeNode targetNode = e.Node; for (int j = 0; j < 4200; j++) { TreeNode subnode = new TreeNode(String.Format("Sub ENTRY {0} {1}", targetNode.Value, j)); subnode.PopulateOnDemand = true; subnode.Expanded = false; targetNode.ChildNodes.Add(subnode); } }

  • JSF : able to do mass update but unable to update a single row in a datatable

    - by nash
    I have a simple data object: Car. I am showing the properties of Car objects in a JSF datatable. If i display the properties using inputText tags, i am able to get the modified values in the managed bean. However i just want a single row editable. So have placed a edit button in a separate column and inputText and outputText for every property of Car. the edit button just toggles the rendering of inputText and outputText. Plus i placed a update button in a separate column which is used to save the updated values. However on clicking the update button, i still get the old values instead of the modified values. Here is the complete code: public class Car { int id; String brand; String color; public Car(int id, String brand, String color) { this.id = id; this.brand = brand; this.color = color; } //getters and setters of id, brand, color } Here is the managed bean: import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.List; import javax.faces.bean.ManagedBean; import javax.faces.bean.RequestScoped; import javax.faces.component.UIData; @ManagedBean(name = "CarTree") @RequestScoped public class CarTree { int editableRowId; List<Car> carList; private UIData myTable; public CarTree() { carList = new ArrayList<Car>(); carList.add(new Car(1, "jaguar", "grey")); carList.add(new Car(2, "ferari", "red")); carList.add(new Car(3, "camri", "steel")); } public String update() { System.out.println("updating..."); //below statments print old values, was expecting modified values System.out.println("new car brand is:" + ((Car) myTable.getRowData()).brand); System.out.println("new car color is:" + ((Car) myTable.getRowData()).color); //how to get modified row values in this method?? return null; } public int getEditableRowId() { return editableRowId; } public void setEditableRowId(int editableRowId) { this.editableRowId = editableRowId; } public UIData getMyTable() { return myTable; } public void setMyTable(UIData myTable) { this.myTable = myTable; } public List<Car> getCars() { return carList; } public void setCars(List<Car> carList) { this.carList = carList; } } here is the JSF 2 page: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"> <h:head> <title>Facelet Title</title> </h:head> <h:body> <h:form id="carForm" prependId="false"> <h:dataTable id="dt" binding="#{CarTree.myTable}" value="#{CarTree.cars}" var="car" > <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{car.id}" /> </h:column> <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{car.brand}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId != car.id}"/> <h:inputText value="#{car.brand}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId == car.id}"/> </h:column> <h:column> <h:outputText value="#{car.color}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId != car.id}"/> <h:inputText value="#{car.color}" rendered="#{CarTree.editableRowId == car.id}"/> </h:column> <h:column> <h:commandButton value="edit"> <f:setPropertyActionListener target="#{CarTree.editableRowId}" value="#{car.id}" /> </h:commandButton> </h:column> <h:column> <h:commandButton value="update" action="#{CarTree.update}"/> </h:column> </h:dataTable> </h:form> </h:body> </html> However if i just keep the inputText tags and remove the rendered attributes, i get the modified values in the update method. How can i get the modified values for the single row edit?

  • Writing JSON with XSLT

    - by JP
    Hi, I'm trying to write XSLT to transform a specific web page to JSON. The following code demonstrates how Ruby would do this conversion, but the XSLT doesn't generate valid JSON (there's one too many commas inside the array) - anyone know how to write XSLT to generate valid JSON? require 'rubygems' require 'nokogiri' require 'open-uri' doc = Nokogiri::HTML(open('http://bbc.co.uk/radio1/playlist')) xslt = Nokogiri::XSLT(DATA.read) puts out = xslt.transform(doc) # Now follows the XSLT __END__ <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <xsl:output method="text" encoding="UTF-8" media-type="text/plain"/> <xsl:template match="/"> [ <xsl:for-each select="//*[@id='playlist_a']//div[@class='artists_and_songs']//ul[@class='clearme']"> {'artist':'<xsl:value-of select="li[@class='artist']" />','track':'<xsl:value-of select="li[@class='song']" />'}, </xsl:for-each> ] </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet>

  • Built in method to encode ampersands in urls returned from Url.Action?

    - by Blegger
    I am using Url.Action to generate a URL with two query parameters on a site that has a doctype of XHTML strict. Url.Action("ActionName", "ControllerName", new { paramA="1" paramB="2" }) generates: /ControllerName/ActionName/?paramA=1&paramB=2 but I need it to generate the url with the ampersand escaped: /ControllerName/ActionName/?paramA=1&amp;paramB=2 The fact that Url.Action is returning the URL with the ampersand not escaped breaks my HTML validation. My current solution is to just manually replace ampersand in the URL returned from Url.Action with an escaped ampersand. Is there a built in or better solution to this problem?

  • What's the best method to be overloaded in ViewPage for inserting some script to all ViewPage?

    - by Soul_Master
    I want to insert some script that is required for my JavaScript library in all view pages. I know that Asp.net MVC is built on Asp.net Framework. Therefore, I can override many methods in “System.Web.UI.Page” class that is a parent of “System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage” class. Nevertheless, I can do it by override Render method but it makes all view pages be invalid for XHTML 1.0 strict. Correct JavaScript must be placed in header tag of HTML document. public class ViewPage<TModel> : ViewPage where TModel : class { protected override void Render(System.Web.UI.HtmlTextWriter writer) { base.Render(writer); writer.Write("<script type='text/javascript>applicationPath = window.applicationPath = 'somePath';</script>"); } } Thanks, PS. I know I can create some code in each master page for doing that. However, it is a quite complicate for other developers to start using my JavaScript source code.

  • Javascript Dropdownbox

    I have a dropdownbox (percent), a input box(price) and a input box (total) When you select a percent from the dropdown, it multiplies the value of the selected dropdown times the price value and input the result in the total input box. This works well with one input box, but what I am trying to do is to use asp and when you select a percent from the drop down box, it will calcualate the rest of the total fields. Here is the code that I have so far <%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"% <% Dim Recordset1 Dim Recordset1_numRows Set Recordset1 = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset") Recordset1.ActiveConnection = MM_pricdsn_STRING Recordset1.Source = "SELECT * FROM AMFLIB.MBCWCPP where cwfvnb = 1090101 and cwaitx between '0025' and '0025AT'" Recordset1.CursorType = 0 Recordset1.CursorLocation = 2 Recordset1.LockType = 1 Recordset1.Open() Recordset1_numRows = 0 %> <% Dim Repeat1__numRows Dim Repeat1__index Repeat1__numRows = -1 Repeat1__index = 0 Recordset1_numRows = Recordset1_numRows + Repeat1__numRows %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> Javascript Untitled Document <script type="text/javascript"> function startCalc4(){ interval = setInterval("calc4()",1); } function calc4(){ one = document.form1.prcbook.value; two = document.form1.percent.value; document.form1.total.value = (one * 1) * (two * 1); } function stopCalc4(){ clearInterval(interval); } </script> <style type="text/css"> <!-- #Layer1 { position:absolute; left:26px; top:49px; width:150px; height:24px; z-index:1; } #Layer2 { position:absolute; left:36px; top:22px; width:166px; height:22px; z-index:2; } #Layer3 { position:absolute; left:19px; top:24px; width:174px; height:21px; z-index:3; } --> </style> <script type="text/javascript"> function showhideText(box,id) { var elm = document.getElementById(id) elm.style.display = box.checked?   • XML::LibXML: How to write a xpath with qualified name?

    - by sid_com
    I've found this on http://www.perlmonks.org/?node_id=606909 looking by qualified name ... In this case you can call findnodes method on any node, you don't need the XML::LibXML::XPathContext with its prefix = namespace mapping: $doc-findnodes('///info/fooTransaction/transactionDetail/[name() = "histFile:transactionSummary"]/*'); In which way I have to edit my xpath to get my script working without XPathContext? #!/usr/bin/env perl use warnings; use strict; use 5.012; use XML::LibXML; my $parser = XML::LibXML->new; $parser->recover_silently( 1 ); my $doc = $parser->parse_file( 'http://www.heise.de/' ); my $xc = XML::LibXML::XPathContext->new( $doc->getDocumentElement ); $xc->registerNs( 'xmlns', 'http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml' ); my $nodes = $xc->findnodes( '//xmlns:h2/xmlns:a' ); for my $node ( $nodes->get_nodelist ) { say $_->getName, '=', $_->getValue for $node->attributes; }

  • HTML/CSS - Website Help.

    - by gabeaudick
    I'm trying to build my first website from scratch. I mocked up the design in Photoshop, and have been trying to convert into code for a few hours. But I haven't got far. In fact, I'm stuck on the header's navigation bar. It looks right, but it doesn't work. I'm using an unordered-inline list, and trying to link different rectangles in the header. I can't click on anything in the header, though. The code for the html and css files, and a mockup of the header, are below. Any advice on why the header bar isn't working would be much appreciated. Here's a link to the image: http://rookery9.aviary.com.s3.amazonaws.com/3961000/3961027_eb89_625x625.jpg *Ideally, you would be able to click on either "". home.html: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en" xml:lang="en"> <head> <!-- Title --> <title>I am Gabe Audick.</title> <!-- Meta --> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <meta name="Author" content="Gabe Audick" /> <meta name="Copyright" content="Gabe Audick" /> <!-- Stylesheets --> <link href="style.css" media="screen" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <!-- RSS --> <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="gabeaudick RSS" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/gabeaudick" /> </head> <body> <!-- Navigation Bar --> <div id="wrap"> <div id="header"> <ul> <li><a href="#">Previous</a></li> <li><a href="#">Home</a></li> <li><a href="#">Next</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> <!-- END --> <!-- Google Analytics --> <script type="text/javascript"> var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-5899101-4']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ?   • Trying to add AddThis to multiple items through JavaScript

    - by Mantorok
    I have to add an AddThis chunk to a bunch of controls, the reason I'm doing this through JS is because the addthis: attributes cause XHTML validation errors, so I wrote a JS script that takes the control I want to add the html into and some other bits: function AddExternalLinks(control, url, title) { $(control).html("<div class'addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style'><a class='addthis_button_facebook'" + " addthis:url=" + url + " addthis:title=" + title + " addthis:description=" + title + "></a>" + "<a class='addthis_button_twitter' " + " addthis:url=" + url + " addthis:title=" + title + " addthis:description=" + title + "></a></div>" + "<script type='text/javascript' src='http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#username=cornwallweb'></script>"); However this does not work, the html is added fine but the script fails with the following error: *c._Queuer is not a constructor [Break on this error] if(!window._ate){var _atd="www.addthis...(c) 2008, 2009, 2010 Add This, LLC / addthi...wallweb (line 2) Any ideas? • jQuery CSS Custom Flyout Menu Styling Issue

    - by aherrick
    I'm close to nailing this flyout menu I have been working on, just have a couple of current pain points. I'm trying to get left/right padding on my submenu items, as you can see I am not quite there. Also when the first submenu is displayed, I want to create a bit of a gap between the first row of list items and the child. Below is my current code and a screen shot displaying what I want. Based on my current CSS, any thoughts on how to get this done in a clean way? <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <title></title> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function mainmenu() { $("#nav ul").css({ display: "none" }); // Opera Fix $("#nav li").hover(function() { $(this).find('ul:first').css({ visibility: "visible", display: "none" }).show(400); }, function() { $(this).find('ul:first').css({ visibility: "hidden" }); }); } $(document).ready(function() { mainmenu(); }); </script> <style type="text/css"> * { padding: 0px; margin: 0px; } body { font-size: 0.85em; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; } #nav, #nav ul { margin: 0; padding: 0; list-style-type: none; list-style-position: outside; position: relative; } #nav a { display: block; padding: 4px 0px 4px 0px; color: #dfca90; text-decoration: none; background-color: #ECE9D8; font-size: 9px; font-weight: bold; font: bold 15px Palatino, 'Palatino Linotype' , Georgia, serif; } #nav > li > a { font-size: 16px; font-variant: small-caps; border-right: 1px solid #dfca90; padding-right: 10px; padding-left: 10px; padding-bottom: 6px; padding-top: 6px; background-color: #fff; color: #dfca90; } #nav li ul li a:hover { color: #999; } #nav li { float: left; position: relative; } #nav ul { position: absolute; display: none; width: 170px; border: 2px solid #dfca90; } #nav ul li { } #nav li ul a { width: 170px; height: auto; float: left; } #nav ul ul { top: -2px; } #nav li ul ul { left: 170px; background-color: #ECE9D8; } #nav li:hover ul ul, #nav li:hover ul ul ul, #nav li:hover ul ul ul ul { display: none; } #nav li:hover ul, #nav li li:hover ul, #nav li li li:hover ul, #nav li li li li:hover ul { display: block; } </style> </head> <body> <ul id="nav"> <li><a href="#">1 HTML</a></li> <li><a href="#">2 CSS</a></li> <li><a href="#">3 Javascript </a> <ul> <li><a href="#">3.1 jQuery</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">3.1.1 Download</a> </li> <li><a href="#">3.1.2 Tutorial</a> </li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#">3.2 Mootools</a></li> <li><a href="#">3.3 Prototype</a></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </body> </html>

  • How can I force overflow: hidden to not use up my padding-right space

    - by AlfaTeK
    I have the following code: <div style="width: 100px; overflow: hidden; border: 1px solid red; background-color: #c0c0c0; padding-right: 20px; "> 2222222222222222222222111111111111111111111111113333333333333333333</div> (XHTML 1.0 transitional) What happens is that the padding-right doesn't appear, it's occupied by the content, which means the overflow uses up the padding right space and only "cuts off" after the padding. Is there any way to force the browser to overflow before the padding-right, which means my div will show with the padding right? What I get is the first div in the following image, what i want is something like the 2nd div: image

  • AJAX, PHP, XML, and cascading drop-down lists

    - by Dave Jarvis
    What PHP libraries would you recommend to implement the following: Three dependent drop-down lists Three XML data sources AJAX-based Essentially, I'd like to create an XML database and wire up a form that allows the user to select three different dependent parameters: User clicks Region User clicks District (filtered by Region) User clicks Station (filtered by District) Even though I would like to use PHP and XML, the general problem is: One XHTML form Three dependent, cascading drop-down lists Three flat files (no relational database) for the list data The solution must be efficient, simple, reliable, and cross-browser. What technologies would you recommend to solve the problem? Thank you!

  • HTML 5: Is it <br> <br/> or <br />?

    - by Eikern
    I've tried checking other answers, but I'm still confused--especially after seeing W3schools HTML 5 reference. I thought HTML 4.01 was supposed to "allow" single-tags to just be <img> and <br>. Then XHTML came along with <img /> and <br /> (where someone said that the space is there for older browsers). Now I'm wondering how I'm supposed to format my code when practicing HTML 5. <!DOCTYPE HTML> Is it <br>, <br/> or <br />?

  • XML Schema: xs:any processcontent="skip" but still returns error

    - by Jane Doe
    I wanted to embed HTML formatting and so I did <xs:element name="boobie"> <xs:complexType mixed="true"> <xs:sequence> <xs:any namespace="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" processContent="skip"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> However, when I put li tag (dot point element for HTML) inside the XML file (inside boobie tag) it generates error that it is unexpected. What is wrong with this? is the only way to put html tag inside XMl file is to use CDATA?

  • IE6 + IE7 CSS problem with overflow: hidden; - position: relative; combo.

    - by googletorp
    So I have created a slider for a homepage, that slides some images with a title and teaser text using jQuery. Everything works fine, and I went to check IE and found that IE 6 and 7 kills my slider css completely. I can't figure out why, but for some reason I can't hide the non active slides with overflow: hidden; I've tried tweaking the css back and forth, but haven't been able to figure out what's causing the problem. I've recreated the problem in a more isolated html page. <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="da" lang="da" dir="ltr"> <head> <style> body { width: 900px; } .column-1 { width: 500px; float: left; } .column-2 { width: 200px; float: left; } .column-3 { width: 200px; float: left; } ul { width: 2000px; left: -499px; position: relative; } li { list-style: none; display: block; float: left; } .item-list { overflow: hidden; width: 499px; } </style> </head> <body> <div class="column-1"> <div class="item-list clearfix"> <ul> <li class="first"> <div class="node-slide"> <img src="http://www.hanselman.com/blog/content/binary/lolcats-funny-pictures-leroy-jenkins.jpg" /> <div class="infobox"> <h4>Title 1</h4> <p>Teaser 1</p> </div> </div> </li> <li> <div class="slide"> <img src="http://www.hanselman.com/blog/content/binary/lolcats-funny-pictures-leroy-jenkins.jpg" /> <div class="infobox"> <h4>Title 2</h4> <p>Teaser 2</p> </div> </div> </li> <li class="last"> <div class="slide"> <img src="http://www.hanselman.com/blog/content/binary/lolcats-funny-pictures-leroy-jenkins.jpg" /> <div class="infobox"> <h4>Title 3</h4> <p>Teaser 3</p> </div> </div> </li> </ul> </div> </div> <div class="column-2"> ... </div> <div class="column-3"> ... </div> </body> </html> I've tracked down that it is the ul { position: relative; } on the ul element that is causing the overflow: hidden not to work, but why that is, I don't know. Also this is needed to make the slider javascript work using the left attribute on the ul to slide it. Any ideas as to how you can fix this is most welcome.
