• TinyMCE: Double forecolor and backcolor buttons?

  I'm having a problem using TinyMCE. In IE8, the forecolor and backcolor, for some random reason, is displayed twice. See picture below. • Consuming RSS Feed In PHP

  I'm trying to use an RSS feed from my blog on the news section on another site. Everything seems to be working fine until I use something like an ellipsis on my blog. The expected output is: One more time…less fail Although this is no joking matter… The actual output is: One more time?less fail Although this is no joking matter… The problem is that ? should be a .... The code I'm using is the same for the first line (the blog title) and the second line (the blog contents) and that code is: $a = utf8_decode($a); print("$a"); Where $a is the string from the RSS feed. Can anyone point in the right direction why that code would work correctly for the body (second line) and not for the title (first line)? Or suggest a better way to do this? Thanks!

  Hi again guys. I'm trying to access my iPhone's device keychain. I want to access in order to create a simple user-password value intended for a log in function. • Trouble Emitting Object Array using Reflection.Emit

  I am trying to Emit what I thought would be a simple object array that would result in code similar to the below example object[] parameters = new object[] { a, b, }; When I write the above code in C# using VS, I get the following IL. As expected this works. .locals init ( [0] object[] parameters, [1] object[] CS$0$0000) However, when I try and Emit IL directly, I only ever get a one index init array. Can someone help tell me where I've gone wrong here? • [PHP] DOMDocument load on a page returning 400 Bad Request status

  Hiya, I'm trying to use the Last.fm API for an application I'm creating, but am having some problems with validation. If an API request gives an error it returns a code and message in the response XML like this: <lfm status="failed"> <error code="6">No user with that name</error> </lfm> However, the request also returns an HTTP status of 400 (or in some cases 403) which DOMDocument considers an error and so then refuses to parse the XML. Is there any way round this, so that I can retrieve the error code and message? Thanks Pete

I'd like to make the code more readable. I know I can declare my own, but are there no Windows macros for these values?   .NET newbie alert Using Visual C# 2008 Express Edition I have accidentally created a click event for a button. I then deleted the automatically-created method code, which resulted in an error saying that the function, which had now been referenced in the form loading code, could no longer be found. Deleting the following line from the Form1.Designer.cs file's InitializeComponent() function... this.btnCopy.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.btnCopy_Click); ... seems to do the trick, however, it makes me feel very dirty because of the following warning at the beginning of the #region: /// Required method for Designer support - do not modify /// the contents of this method with the code editor. I haven't been able to find a way to do this using the form designer, which I assume is the means implied by this warning. What is the correct way to do this?

• size of view not changing after frame change

  I have managed to do pretty complex things on iPhone but I am always stuck with views, frames, bounds, and simple stuff that defies any logic and don't work as expected. I have a self.view in my code and it has a lot of subviews on it. At some point of the code, I need to reduce the frame vertically to a specific size and later put it back as before. Then I have this code: [UIView beginAnimations:nil context:NULL]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:1.5]; // frame is changing to a newHeight (other parameters are the same as before) self.view.frame = CGRectMake (0, 0, originalWidth, newHeight); [UIView commitAnimations]; The result is simply, nothing. The view continues as before. The same size, the same position. No change. Why this kind of thing happens? how to solve that?

  I would like to be able to place the word "hello" centered on a specific point. I need to do this completely in XAML without extra code. Best I can tell, all the text alignment properties/styles in XAML act on text within some bouding canvas or other element. Since I don't know the length of the text I want to center, I can't center it using my own code. The reason I need to solve the problem entirely in XAML is that I'm not using WPF to create the XAML, I'm writing it directly to an XML DOM. It will then be loaded into a Silverlight or WPF control for display. In most graphic languages, including SVG, which is where my code originated, text can be aligned against a "stationary point" without a bounding box. Any suggestions appreciated

I'm trying to extend this code but I want to know if it's efficient or not (and how much this influences the speed) to encapsulate all the parameters in a struct like this struct PGTO { int len; double x,y,z ; double *acoefs } and then access the parameters in the function.

• UdpClient receiving and sending at the same time

  Hello, I am maintaining other's code and its using the class UdpClient. The code declares one instance of UdpClient and receives data continuosly using the UdpClient.Receive(). When data is received it is processed in another thread and the UdpClient calls Receive() again. At the same time when the data is processed the same client is sending a response back. Question: Is this a bug? I think so because UdpClient is not thread safe so you can not call two methods at the same time. Anyways code is working fine but ...

  How do you send a refresh message to a WPF grid or canvas? In other words, I have noticed while in debug mode, I can write code that sends a line to the display and then, if that line is not right, I can adjust it -- but the previous line is still there. Now, the code I am writing sends information to the display based on what the user clicks. So this must mean that the display is not refreshed each time a new set of lines and boxes and text goes to the grid or canvas in WPF. Using C# code, how do you send a refresh/repaint message to a WPF grid or canvas?

  I am using Perl to read UTF-16LE files in Windows 7. If I read in an ascii file with following code: open CUR_FILE, "<", $asciiFile; Then each "\r\n" in file will be converted into a "\n" in memory; if I read in an UTF-16LE(windows 1200) file with following code: open CUR_FILE, "<:encoding(UTF-16LE)", $utf16leFile; Then "\r\n" will keep unchanged. This inconsistency cause problems when I trying to regexp lines with line breaks. My questions is: Is this how unicode works in Perl & Windows? Or Am I using the wrong code? Thanks so much!

• How to use TDD in a not very "Testy" environment

  I work in a company where OOP is... well, not fobidden, but at least frowned upon as "too complex". My coworkers write lots of 100+ lines functions and they are usually all in a "funcs.inc.php" or "something.inc.php", if they use any functions at all, often they don't since copy-paste is faster. I would love to start using TDD at least for the code i write but as i have to interface with their code i can't see how to begin. It's not legacy code as they are actively developing it and i don't want to modify their code as i don't want to provoke conflicts. Which approach would you suggest, except for changing the company?

Thus the hero object needs to reference the list when it fires. Here are a few solutions, although I'm sure there are others: Make the list a global, Use a class variable (as above), or Have the hero object hold a reference to the list. I didn't post this on gamedev because my question is actually more general: Is the previous code considered okay? Given a situation like this, is there a more Pythonic solution?

• Strcpy() corrupts the copied string in Solaris but not Linux

  Hi all, I'm writing a C code for a class. This class requires that our code compile and run on the school server, which is a sparc solaris machine. I'm running Linux x64. I have this line to parse (THIS IS NOT ACTUAL CODE BUT IS INPUT TO MY PROGRAM): while ( cond1 ){ I need to capture the "while" and the "cond1" into separate strings. I've been using strtok() to do this. In Linux, the following lines: char *cond = NULL; cond = (char *)malloc(sizeof(char)); memset(cond, 0, sizeof(char)); strcpy(cond, strtok(NULL, ": \t\(){")); //already got the "while" out of the line will correctly capture the string "cond1".Running this on the solaris machine, however, gives me the string "cone1". Note that in plenty of other cases within my program, strings are being copied correctly. (For instance, the "while") was captured correctly. Does anyone know what is going on here?

• Have you been in cases where TDD increased development time?

  Hello everyone :) I was reading http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2512504/tdd-how-to-start-really-thinking-tdd and I noticed many of the answers indicate that tests + application should take less time than just writing the application. In my experience, this is not true. My problem though is that some 90% of the code I write has a TON of operating system calls. The time spent to actually mock these up takes much longer than just writing the code in the first place. Sometimes 4 or 5 times as long to write the test as to write the actual code. I'm curious if there are other developers in this kind of a scenario.

• Difference in DLL when compiling on Build Server instead of Dev Machine.

  I have an application that loads user controls into .NET web application. When I compile and test the application locally on my dev machine it works on my machine. The project builds successfully using MSBuild on our build server. However when I deploy the dll generated by MSBuild on the build server I get the following error when the application loads the control: BC30456: 'CreateResourceBasedLiteralControl' is not a member of 'ASP.usercontrols_somecontrol_ascx'. I took a look and compared the dll generated on my machine and compared it(looked at the file size) with the one created by the build server and noticed a difference in the file size. This is confusing considering the code being built locally and on the build server is IDENTICAL. I manually compared each file by hand. So my question is: What is causing this error? What would be different between MSBuild's compilation of the code and what is going on in Visual Studio when compiling the code?

• NSOutlineView with Drag and Drop

  I read the other post here on Outlineviews and DND, but I can't get my program to work. At the bottom of this post is a link to a zip of my project. Its very basic with only an outlineview and button. I want it to receive text files being dropped on it, but something is wrong with my code or connections. I tried following Apple's example code of their NSOutline Drag and Drop, but I'm missing something. 1 difference is my program is a document based program and their example isn't. I set the File's Owner to receive delegate actions, since that's where my code to handle drag and drop is, as well as a button action. • Is there a way to disable calls to Runtime.checkRestricted on the GAE Java development server under Eclipse?

  I'm one of those guys who step through their code a lot during development. Beginning with version 1.6.4 of the GAE Java development server, the server has been instrumented with calls to a function named Runtime.checkRestricted. This causes two inconveniences when I step through my code: 1) Whenever I step into a function, the debugger goes into the function Runtime.checkRestricted (for which there is no source code) at least once, often multiple times. 2) Whenever I step over a function call which has a large call tree underneath it, then it takes a very long time for the debugger to come back. (That's always a problem in the Eclipse Java debugger, but now it's really bad.) For me, all this causes a serious drain on productivity. Is there any way to disable this instrumentation, or to prevent the debugger from stepping into it? I am using Eclipse with the GAE plugin.

Will it create any problem if i remove the method (explicit implementation of interface) that i have marked "redundant" above? PS: I understand that explicit implementation of interface is very important, and it can be used when we need to give access to a method at interface level only, and to use two interface with same signature of method.
