• Scrollbar Problem

  Hi All, There is a datagrid on my page which contains a lot of data. When i click on any row , the user is redirected to a page where he can edit the content of that row. But suppose I am at the bottom of page and then if I click on any row, the scrollbar of browser automatically shifts upwards which causes illusion for the user and make him confused if he has clicked on some other row. Is there any solution to this so that the position of scrollbar does not change after clicking on any data in datagrid. Thanks in advance.

• Velocity templates seem to fail with UTF-8

  Hi, i have been trying to use a velocity Template with the following content: Sübjäct $item everything works fine except the translation of the tow unicode characters. The result string printed on the commandline looks like: Sübjäct foo I searched the velocity website and the web an this issue, and came uo with differnt font encoding options, which i added to my code. But those won't help. This is the actuall code: velocity.setProperty("file.resource.loader.path", absPath); velocity.setProperty("input.encoding", "UTF-8"); velocity.setProperty("output.encoding", "UTF-8"); Template t = velocity.getTemplate("subject.vm"); t.setEncoding("UTF-8"); StringWriter sw = new StringWriter(); t.merge(null, sw); System.out.println(sw.getBuffer()); Can anyone give me some hints, how to fix this issue?

• JSF/HTML - Add a Java applet to web page programmatically.

  Theres a web page I'm making which content is very dynamic and so I'm building it from inside the backing bean. I would like to add a Java applet to the web page but I could not find the JSF component type to correspond to the <applet> tag. So My questions are - What is the JSF component type for an applet? How did you find it? (For similar future searches) Thanks! P.S - Just to be clear. An example: <h:PanelGroup> would be HtmlPanelGroup as a java object.

• [MAC] Using a proxy for NSURLConnection

  Is there any way to get the content of a webfile (namely a .html Document) using a proxy, which is not defined in the system settings? I know that NSURLConnection is the right way to download a web file into a variable and not into a file (for which we should use NSURLDownload), but I don't find an way to use a proxy for it. Are there some inofficial APIs, Librarys or Classes or such I could use for what I want to do? I'm not that pro in Mac Programming, so im searching for something more or less simple to do for me plz. • Rails Variable across all controller actions

  Hello, This should be a very simple rails question. I have a variable like the following. @administration = Administration.first I want this variable to be accessible through every controller action across all my controllers so for example if I have a Product controller and inside of it I have the usual CRUD actions, I want the @administration variable as defined above to be put into all the CRUD actions. (It would not be needed in destroy or create or update). I have many controllers throughout my project and I was wondering if there is an easier way than adding it manually through all of the actions that I want it in. I tried a global variable $administration = Administration.first but I run into an issue where it is not updated when I update the actual content of the Administration.first table. Also, I would like to avoid global variables. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)

• is it possible to use a python scrapper in a website?

  I want to scrap a website and use that content in a website of my own. I am just wondering if that can be done with python 2.7, and if so how? If not, do I have to use JavaScript to scrap it? And do you have a good place to learn how to do that or good libraries for it. For those of you wondering, the website I am scrapping is legal, and they allow for this to be done. I have searched all over but apparently nobody tries to implement these scrappers that they write. I can write a web scrapper in python just fine. Say my scrapper scraps a name from a wikipedia page (John Doe for example), how can I use that name that I get in my website? Another update, I have found pjsrape and PhantomJS. I have only found one stack overflow post and the github examples with aren't very intuitive. If anybody has any experience or better ways to do it I would very much appreciate it

• What's the simplest way to let the user download a file in ASP.NET MVC ?

  In an ASP.NET MVC I have a database table. I want to have a button on some view page, if some user clicks that button I my application will generate XML file containing all rows in the database. Then the file containing XML should be sent to the client so that the user will see a download pop-up window. Similarly I want to allow user to upload an XML file whose content will be added to the database. What's the simplest way to let the user upload and download file ? Thanks for all the answers

  Hello im developing some backends in ASP.NET 2.0 and i have put all the images in Cache, GZIPED my CSS, JS files and everything to speedup the load of each options. the performance its good and i have no problems with the clients but i want "MORE" fast loads and im looking for some recomendations. Is important to mention that those websites are using only in intranets so im thinking to implement my next projects using IFRAME for content that way (i think) the options will be loading faster because they not have to load the entire site. any help / recomendations? thanks in advance.

• Managing multiple blogs (wordpress) from one control panel

  This is the deal: I have more than one blog (not running yet) that I want to install in subfolders for one of my domains. Each blog will obviously have its own look and feel and content. I could just have a set of control panels and administer them individually or I could somehow manage them form a single control panel. Issues I've come across are: Some plugins offer this functionality while suppressing other features like auto draf saving, in-post category and tag creation, image upload etc. I'm not necessarily looking for a ready solution, more like some guidance on how to approach this particular problem in the best possible manner. I'm looking for a fully working scenario, not some plugin that allows me to more or less simulate the one-blog-administration experience.

• Launching The package installer.

  Hi, I'm looking for a way to automatically start the android Package Installer , after the browser finishes downloading an apk file . Any ideas on this ? Currently after the download is over the list of downloaded files is displayed and clicking on the downloaded apk launches the Package installer . (step which I'd like to automatize) I've thought on launching the instalation manually with code like this : intent.setAction(android.content.Intent.ACTION_VIEW); intent.setDataAndType(Uri.parse("file:///sdcard/downloadedApk"), "application/vnd.android.package-archive"); startActivity(intent); ,but I'm unable to find when the download completes to execute the snipet above.

  Hi, I'm new to doctrine: I have a problem with the sorting of joined records. A sample. I've got an Article model which is associated with a Source model in 1 <- n. The source model has a property called 'position' with an integer value. Now I want to fetch an article with it's sources orderes by the position. My DQL looks like this: $q = Doctrine_Query::create() ->select('a.title, s.content') ->from('Article a') ->leftJoin('a.Source s') ->where('a.id = ?') ->orderBy('s.position'); The result doesn't change if I edit the position. This behavior disappears, if I comment out the form tags ...unfortunately the form tags are required for an AJAX-submit. Are there any ways to avoid this problem? • How can I make the boostrap js carousel automatically cycle as soon as the page loads?

  Using bootstrap.js version 2.02 I'm trying to get the Twitter Bootstrap Carousel to automatically cycle as soon as someone visits my site. Right now, the auto cycling works only after you click one of the cycle buttons at least once. I want the carousel to begin cycling at the interval right away. Does anyone know how to do this? My site is hotairraccoon.com You'll see how after you click the carousel once, it begins to cycle every 5 seconds or so, but I don't want the click to be required to reveal carousel content. Thanks!

• Wordpress parses wp_posts.post_content before rendering?

  I noticed that when I call the the_post() or the_content() function from my wordpress template, it automatically parses the database data to replace new lines with <br/>, wraps the text with <p> tags etc...There's probably some kind of "format" function within the_post() or the_content(). I wrote a query to directly get posts from the wp_posts. I then print it out like <?php $results = $wp->get_results($sql) foreach($results as $row) echo $row->post_content; ?> Clearly, this data is not parsed by wordpress' "format" function. What is the proper way to output this content such that it undergoes the same "formatting" functions as the_post() or the_content()?

• C#: How to kill a singleton window

  Hi Everyone I'm working on a WPF application which should be utilizable with two monitors. In the main window is a button which detaches a part of the content in a second window wich can then be used on the other minitor. That second window I implemented as a singleton. That works quite good except that the second window doesn't get destoryed on application shutdown which means that the app keeps running in the background. Regarding that problem I'd like to know if a singleton is the right way to do this and if not what would be the right way. If it is, how do I get rid of the instance and why can't I access the singleton instance from app.xaml.cs? Thanks for your help.

• Using Components.utils.import in a firefox extension

  I am trying to create some global variables in a firefox extension. In my content folder, I have two javascript files: 1) Main JS file that holds the functions for the different events, etc 2) A file that stores only an object with the pieces of state I want to maintain. Also, I set the array EXPORTED_SYMBOLS. I am having issues with the following line found in my main JS file: Components.utils.import("resource:///globalVariables.js"); When it is at the top of the file, nothing seems to work. If I move it into the function where I need the variable, the rest of my code works, but the function with this line does nothing. Any advice that would help me with this problem would be great.   I'm working on a program to trigger cut and pastes Pastes i have no problem with (i just dump a string into the clipboard) Cut and or Copys are proving to be a little more difficult The program i have is out of focus and has several hot keys registered with the os ( ctrl+alt+2 ctrl+alt+3 etc) that i want to use to trigger Windows to copy anything that is highlighted in the window that is focused I tried doing a sendkeys SendKeys.Send("^c"); but that seems to work once or twice if at all then stop working. is there a better way to try to trigger windows into coping highlighted content on a different window

• Using database default values with Linq to SQL codewise

  I am using Dynamic Data with linq to SQL and SQL Server 2008. I have a GUID column that gets his value from the default value with newguid(). When I set IsDbGenerated to true in the designer it works like a charm. But when I renew table this property is set back to false again. So I added it to the metadata. For some reason it's not being pickup, "00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000" is being inserted in database. The displayname and readonly change are being pick up. What am I missing? How can I check if the HR tag is present between classes CTEMA and add one if not present?

• How to assign the value of document.cookie to your browser cookies?

  I'm a developer (and therefore a tester) of a website. Our site accepts any JavaScript or HTML from an user but I haven't been successful in explaining the danger of it, as obvious as it is. So I would like to prove it by logging in as my boss to prove to him that there is definitely a real danger here. I think this will put down any of his arguments and let us move onto filtering content like this. (note this question is not about filtering, or other suggestions on JavaScript tricks) I already know how to steal the value of the document.cookie variable with AJAX and a PHP file, but once you have that string of name=value;name=value;..., how do you apply it to your own browser? This is programming related because I am asking about tools which will help me debug my web program.

  I have a single page website built on bootstrap 3, that I am trying to move to Google Apps Engine. I Scaffold my sites using php, and all the content is showing but not the styles and javascript. My site is basically set up as follows _/js/bootstrap.js _/js/custom.js _/fonts/glypicon ...etc _/css/bootstrap.css _/css/custom.css _/php/ .. all my php files go here ... index.php can someone help me setup my app.yaml for this? I am new to GAE, and am a little confused by this.
