  • UseConcMarkSweepGC verbose gc output shows memory drops

    - by user1864747
    I have an application for which I have enabled GC logging. The heap appears to grow then takes a sudden drop, but does not log a Full GC. If there some startup parameter that I can enable that will show me what GC event is reducing the heap size? My environment: Linux 64-Bit, java 1.6.0_31, Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.6-b01, mixed mode) VM args: -server -Xms2560m -Xmx2560m -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -XX:-PrintGC -XX: -PrintGCDetails -XX:-PrintGCTimeStamps -Xloggc:/xxxxx/gc.log -Dsun.rmi.dgc.client.gcInterval=86400000 -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=86400000 3057.609: [GC 2397254K->2385777K(2619328K), 0.0572310 secs] 3058.898: [GC 2402801K->2391301K(2619328K), 0.0566620 secs] 3059.940: [GC 2408325K->2397156K(2619328K), 0.0534080 secs] 3059.995: [GC 2397265K(2619328K), 0.0069950 secs] 3065.635: [GC 2414180K->2404934K(2619328K), 0.0732700 secs] 3065.849: [GC 2419994K(2619328K), 0.1150630 secs] 3070.248: [GC 1593931K->1591825K(2619328K), 0.1084230 secs] 3072.440: [GC 1608552K->1606431K(2619328K), 0.0533140 secs] 3087.759: [GC 1623455K->1614544K(2619328K), 0.0215850 secs] What event is causing the heap to shrink between the output at 3065.849 and 3070.248? Is there a VM param that will log it? I tried adding -verbose:gc but that does not change the output.

    - by user3797283

    - by suresh
    Hi, I compiled a x64 application in win32 development environment.. When I run that binary in 64 bit intel machine , the following error is displayed "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.".. In the event log it is mentioned that "Activation context generation failed for . Dependent Assembly icrosoft.VC80.DebugCRT,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50608.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis. What is this issue and how to resolve this problem ?and architecture of the target system is amd64. • How to invert arrow image placed before the first cell when tableview cells are swiped beyond first

    - by neha
    Hi all, In my application, I need to add this functionality that there should be an arrow image upside down placed before first cell and some text like "Pull down to refresh" and when user pulls the table beyond this then this arrow gets inverted and text changes to "Release to refresh" and when the user releases his finger, the data is refreshed and rows get added to that point So now this initial arrow and text moves upwards before the first cell again. Can anybody tell me wheather there's any event that does this? Or else which event I need to capture in order to add this functionality? Thanks in advance.

  • How do I mimic Windows Explorer multi-select/drag-n-drop behavior in a DataGridView?

    - by bsh152s
    I'm trying to mimic the way Windows Explorer handles multiple selection. In a default DataGridView, you can select multiple items using Ctrl-click. But if you release the Ctrl key and then try and drag/drop the selected items, it clears the selected items and only selects the "hit" row. I found the following solution somewhere online. protected override OnMouseDown(MouseEventArgs e) { int hitRowIndex = HitTest(e.X, e.Y).RowIndex; if(!SelectedRows.Contains(Rows[hitRowIndex])) { base.OnMouseDown(); } } However, this causes other side effects. With the CTRL key pressed and mousing down on a selected item, the item remains selected. This makes sense because the mousedown event is bypassed if the row clicked on is selected. From looking at the behavior of Windows Explorer, it looks like the deselection of an item with the CTRL key held is not handled until the MouseUp event. Has anyone tried to do this?

  • Performance issues in android game

    - by user1446632
    I am making an android game, but however, the game is functioning like it should, but i am experiencing some performance issues. I think it has something to do with the sound. Cause each time i touch the screen, it makes a sound. I am using the standard MediaPlayer. The method is onTouchEvent() and onPlaySound1(). Could you please help me with an alternate solution for playing the sound? Thank you so much in advance! It would be nice if you also came up with some suggestions on how i can improve my code. • How do I know if a drag/drop has been cancelled in WPF

    - by Jon Mitchell
    I'm writing a user control in WPF which is based on a ListBox. One of the main pieces of functionality is the ability to reorder the list by dragging the items around. When a user drags an item I change the items Opacity to 50% and physically move the item in an ObservableCollection in my ViewModel depending on where the user wants it. On the drop event I change the Opacity back to 100%. The problem I've got is that if the user drags the item off my control and drops it somewhere else then I need to change the Opacity back to 100% and move the item back to where it was when the user started the drag. Is there an event I can handle to capture this action? If not is there any other cunning way to solve this problem?

  • How can I validate input to the edit control of a cell in a DataGridView?

    - by Stuart Helwig
    It appears that the only way to capture the keypress events within a cell of a DataGridView control, in order to validate user input as they type, is to us the DataGridView controls OnEditControlShowing event, hook up a method to the edit control's (e.Control) keypress event and do some validation. My problem is that I've built a heap of custom DataGridView column classes, with their own custom cell types. These cells have their own custom edit controls (things like DateTimePickers, and Numeric or Currency textboxes.) I want to do some numeric validation for those cells that have Numeric of Currency Textboxes as their edit controls but not all the other cell types. How can I determine, within the DataGridView's "OnEditControlShowing" override, whether or not a particular edit control needs some numeric validation?

For example, if they type in "435p" and then focus off of the cell they get the message "The value you entered isn't valid for this field.". Instead, I want to trap a pre-validationevent and change it to "4:35pm" for them. What event can I use? I've tried: LostFocus & BeforeUpdate: too late (validation fires before event) Dirty & OnChange: too early (they haven't left the cell yet) Or is there a way to turn off the native validation rule that is checking for date formats?

  • What jQuery is triggered when a user selects a "drop down list" option

    - by Ankur
    I want to display a different form for different selections of this drop down list: <label> <select name="type" id="type"> <option value="object" selected="selected">Object</option> <option value="number">Number</option> <option value="text">Text</option> <option value="date">Date</option> <option value="time">Time</option> <option value="geo">Geospatial</option> <option value="currency">Currency</option> </select> </label> What would be the jQuery event that is triggered when a user selects one of these options. Would the .click() event be triggered in this case as well?

  • How can I receive the "scroll box" type scroll events from a DataGridView?

    - by Simon
    I have a DataGridView, and I'm listening to its Scroll event. This gives me a ScrollEventArgs object whose Type member is supposed to tell me the type of scroll event that has occurred. On the MSDN documentation page it says I should be able to detect movement of the scroll box by listening for events with types ThumbPosition, ThumbTrack, First, Last and EndScroll. However, when I drag the scroll box, I only get events of type LargeDecrement and LargeIncrement. How do I get access to the ThumbPosition, ThumbTrack, First, Last and EndScroll events?

  • IE - hidden radio button not checked when the corresponding label is clicked

    - by ScottE
    I just noticed a strange behaviour in IE7. I have radio buttons with associated labels as follows: <input type="radio" name="filter" id="filter_1" value="Activities" checked="checked" /> <label for="filter_1">Activities</label> <input type="radio" name="filter" id="filter_2" value="Services" /> <label for="filter_2">Services</label> The radio button is hidden via css with display:none or visibility: hidden (don't ask) The problem is - when I click the label in IE7 (haven't looked at other IE versions yet) the associated radio button is not actually checked. I confirmed this with jquery - the label click event is fired, but the radio button click event is not. A form post also confirms that the checked radio button does not change. This works correctly in firefox, and also works correctly if I remove the CSS that hides the radio buttons. Is this an IE bug or am I missing something?

  • [Flash 3d engine] Away3d and events (Basic questions)

    - by Simon
    I'd like to play around 3d in Flash and I'm wondering how sophisticated objects can i load from 3D Max... cos as i read it's possible to load something from 3d Max I've read that popular 3d engine is Away3d (many tutorials), so if there is nothing better... i'd like to focus on it. I've forgot to mention that i'm not familar with Flash, but the best way to learn something is to do something interesting with it... :) Main question: Can I load object from 3ds and link parts of this object to some actions in Flash. Better example: I'd like to load a Car and when user click on car's door i'd like to show some informations, about those door, or pass this event outside for example to any other application in PHP, Java etc... and when he click on car mask i'd like to raise other event... Is it possible to create such interaction?? Thx in advance :)

  • AS3: currentFrame & stop ();

    - by Eleonara
    So, my next problem. Sorry for asking so much, but my teacher doens't respond. So, this doesn't work. The stop command doesn't seem too respond, but i don't get an error either. I know i miss a bracket, but my function isn't finished. Due to copy and paste the place of the brackets have shifted a bit. function Knipperen (event:TimerEvent):void { if (event.currentTarget.currentCount == 3 && geknipperd < 3) { geknipperd ++; timer.reset(); timer.start(); trace (geknipperd); gotoAndPlay(1); if (currentFrame == 13) { stop(); } }

  • jQuery.Form wont submit

    - by kim
    Im´trying to submit a form without refreshing the page, but I´m having a problem. When I click submit the page refreshes and anothing gets posted. Here is the code, what am I doing wrong? (I´m a newbie) jQuery 1.4.2 and the jQuery Form Plugin 2.43 is present. tnx $(document).ready(function() { var options = { target: '#output2', url: https://graph.facebook.com/<%=fbUid%>/feed, type: post, clearForm: true // clear all form fields after successful submit //dataType: null // 'xml', 'script', or 'json' (expected server response type) //resetForm: true // reset the form after successful submit // $.ajax options can be used here too, for example: //timeout: 3000 }; // bind to the form's submit event $('#fbPostStatus').submit(function() { // inside event callbacks 'this' is the DOM element so we first // wrap it in a jQuery object and then invoke ajaxSubmit $(this).ajaxSubmit(options); // !!! Important !!! // always return false to prevent standard browser submit and page navigation return false; }); });

  • jquery-ui - position of a list item when starting drag and drop?

    - by user246114
    Hi, I am using the jquery-ui library. I have two sortables. I want to know the index of the dragged source item. I have something like this: $(function() { $("#sortable1, #sortable2").sortable({ connectWith: '.connectedSortable' }).disableSelection(); $("#sortable1").sortable({ start: function(event, ui) { alert(ui.position); } }); }); if I'm reading the docs correctly, then ui.position should be what I want?: ui.position - current position of the helper but when I jsut try printing it: alert(ui.position) it seems to be empty. I am doing all of this in an attempt to emulate cloning. docs: http://jqueryui.com/demos/sortable/#event-activate Thanks

    colLabels[i].addMouseListener(new MyAdapter()); private class MyAdapter extends MouseAdapter { @Override public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent event) { ColJLabel colJLabel = (ColJLabel)event.getComponent(); System.out.println(colJLabel.ColID); setColumnHeader(false); } } colLabels[i].setEnabled(flag); The situation is this: Mouse clicks are trapped correctly but when i have the JLabel (ColJLabel) control disabled it still reports mouse clicks. How can I make so that mouse clicks are only reported when the control is enabled? Thanks.
