• Getting weird python error when I run a simple django script in Eclipse, not happening in console

  I am running a basic script that sets up the django environment by itself, to enable me to test the ORM features of django without having to implement web pages. The script then imports one of the types defined in my models. This error doesn't happen when I run this script from iPython, only from eclipse. • JsonResult shows up a file download in browser

  I'm trying to use jquery.Ajax to post data to an ASP.NET MVC2 action method that returns a JsonResult. Everything works great except when the response gets back to the browser it is treated as a file download instead of being passed into the success handler. • Eclipse (Springsource Tool Suite 2.3.1) can't resolve dependencies for classes in the same package

  This started happening when I upgraded my Springsource Toolsuite from 2.3 to 2.3.1. Essentially whenever I do anything, such as open a file, change a file, etc, I have to do a clean. Everything works fine when I do mvn commands on the command line, which leads me to believe that Eclipse is looking in the wrong place for compiled code or something along those lines, although that is entirely superstitious at this point. Example: I make a change to com.foo.mypackage.MyClass. Suddenly a bunch of tests that excercise MyClass get the red x - for class not found! In src/main/test: com.foo.DbUnitTest com.foo.mypackage.FooTest extends DbUnitTest DbUnitTest gets a class not found. I do a clean, and everything is fine. I touch something, and it breaks again :(. I don't really know where to begin on how to troubleshoot this.

• Run Python CGI Script on Windows XP

  I have a Windows XP machine that has Apache installed via a VisualSVNServer installation. I am . trying to get a simple python cgi script to run in my browser e.g. http://build.procepts.com.au:8080/hg/cgi-bin/test.cgi. However despite trying all the recommended approaches the browser only ever displays the plain text from the cgi script. Amongst many other attempted solutions I have followed the instructions contained here. My ultimate aim is to be able to use the Apache web server to serve repositories from a new Mercurial installation. Seeing as Apache is already installed from VisualSVNServer I thought I might as well make use of it. Is there some other trick to get this working?

• Push notification not working for the production environment

  I have spent a whole day on this already but still didn't go anywhere. When I run my app in the development mode, I can get the push messages I send to myself thru PushMeBaby without a problem. However, when I try to test it in the production environment, I cannot get any push. I re-generated all the certificates and provisioning profiles, used the aps_production_identity.cer as the certificate for push, changed the ssl to gateway.push.apple.com, and did a release build for the app, but still couldn't get it to work. I found that in PushMeBaby, the line result = SSLHandshake(context); returns error -9844. Does it mean that something is wrong with the aps_production_identity.cer file? This is driving me nuts, can somebody offer a little help? Much appreciated!!!

I am using xml source nad oledb destination My issue now is this xml file generate multiple outputs .(event,produt,offer,form) etc. But i need to write all in one data row(more than one if 2 products are there for the event) in the database. But i do not know how to use this multiple outputs and make a single row for a event. I hav read numerous articles about this subject but not able to take a decision.what is the right way of doing this. 1) xml source ? • object won't die (still references to it that I can't find)

  I'm using parallel-python and start a new job server in a function. after the functions ends it still exists even though I didn't return it out of the function (I used weakref to test this). I guess there's still some references to this object somewhere. My two theories: It starts threads and it logs to root logger. My questions: can I somehow findout in which namespace there is still a reference to this object. I have the weakref reference. Does anyone know how to detach a logger? • Simple javascript problem in ie6 and ie7

  I have a very simple function that takes a list of comma separated (x,y) points and imports them into a graph. I have FF, Chrome and IE8 installed. • How to log into a salesforce.com sandbox?

  I took over a Rails app and am trying to get the Salesforce.com API credentials set up for my user account. I'm set as a system admin with "Developer Mode" on (though I have no clue what that does, I just saw it set on the previous account.) We have a sandbox. I click the login link on it, enter my sandbox username ([email protected]), enter my password, and get "Login attempt has failed". I know my password is okay since I've logged into the production site several times. Using different domains (test.salesforce.com, etc) doesn't help either.

• VS 2010 Server Explorer Database Showing No Tables

  I'm working on a .Net application that needs to read from an Oracle 10g database behind Siebel. In VS 2010 Server Explorer, I've created a connection using the OracleClient type connector with a reference to the Oracle TNS service name as the "server name." The "Test Connection" button shows that the connection is successful. However, in the Server Explorer, when I go to expand the Tables, no tables are shown. I know for a fact that there are 3000+ tables in the database (thanks Siebel). Anyone know what's happening here? I'd like to create an Entity Framework 4.0 Entity Data Model... Thanks for the help! • Entity Framework Performance Problem

  I'm hoping that someone can help me understand how to overcome a performance problem I'm running into with the latest version of the Entity Framework. In my test, I created my model from a database consisting of around 80 tables. The problem that I'm running into is that the cost of the very first query I run on a thread is very expensive. If I run without pre-compiling views the first query takes anywhere from 5800 to 6600 milliseconds. If I pre-compile the views (see this article) I can get the initial query cost down to about 2800 to 3200 milliseconds. 3 seconds for each request is still unacceptable for my needs. Subsequent queries are very fast. Can you please help me understand how to eliminate the poor performance of the initial query? I'm using the version of entity framework that ships with Visual Studio 2010 RC.

  I get the following error in Chrome every time I try to run my script on a Linux server: Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): Unknown error. In Firefox it just shows a blank white page. Whenever I run it on my local test server (IIS on Windows 7) it runs exactly the way it should with no errors. • DB2 Transaction log is full. How to flush / clear it?

  Hi, I’m working on a experiment regarding to a course I’m taking about tuning DB2. I’m using the EC2 from Amazon (aws) to conduct the experiment. My problem is, however, that I have to test a non-compression against row-compression in DB2 and to do that I’ve created a bsh file that run those experiments. But when I reach to my compression part I get the error ”Transaction log is full”; and no matter how low I set the inserts for it is complaining about my transaction log. I’ve scouted Google for a day now trying to find some way to flush / clear the log or just get rit of it, i don’t need it. I’ve tried to increase the size but nothing has helped. Please, I hope someone has an answer to solve this frustrating problem Thanks - Mestika

• How do find the longest path in a cyclic Graph between two nodes?

  Hi, I already solved most the questions posted here, all but the longest path one. I've read the Wikipedia article about longest paths and it seems any easy problem if the graph was acyclic, which mine is not. How do I solve the problem then? Brute force, by checking all possible paths? How do I even begin to do that? I know it's going to take A LOT on a Graph with ~18000. But I just want to develop it anyway, cause it's required for the project and I'll just test it and show it to the instructor on a smaller scale graph where the execution time is just a second or two. At least I did all tasks required and I have a running proof of concept that it works but there's no better way on cyclic graphs. But I don't have clue where to start checking all these paths...

What I want is, the gray background till the word "Header", not more than that (Background color is just an example. This is not only the case.).

• UIImagePickerController camera preview is portrait in landscape app

  In my landscape-only iPhone application, I launch a UIImagePickerController to take a photo, but the live image displayed from the camera is in portrait orientation, with blank space around it. The image is rotated. Once the camera button is pressed, the preview is very messy, with most of the preview off screen, and views not correctly aligned. Apple has acknowledged that this is defect, and is working on it. My question is, does anyone have a work-around (legal or illegal) that would allow me to get this working now. I wouldn't release to the App Store with an illegal fix, but I would have a much better app for user testing - currently the camera is pretty much unusable in landscape. I will attach a simple test project and images if I can. Edit - just to clarify, the image I get is correctly landscape. I want the camera & preview UIs to look right!

• PyQt: How to keep QTreeView nodes correctly expanded after a sort

  I'm writing a simple test program using QTreeModel and QTreeView for a more complex project later on. In this simple program, I have data in groups which may be contracted or expanded, as one would expect in a QTreeView. The data may also be sorted by the various data columns (QTreeView.setSortingEnabled is True). Each tree item is a list of data, so the sort function implemented in the TreeModel class uses the built-in python list sort: self.layoutAboutToBeChanged.emit() self.rootItem.childItems.sort(key=lambda x: x.itemData[col], reverse=order) for item in self.rootItem.childItems: item.childItems.sort(key=lambda x: x.itemData[col], reverse=order) self.layoutChanged.emit() The problem is that whenever I change the sorting of the root's child items (the tree is only 2 levels deep, so this is the only level with children) the nodes aren't necessarily expanded as they were before. If I change the sorting back without expanding or collapsing anything, the nodes are expanded as before the sorting change. Can anyone explain to me what I'm doing wrong? I suspect it's something with not properly reassigning QModelIndex with the sorted nodes, but I'm not sure.

  I am having difficulties how to construct my question, but if I have to put it simply the situation is that I have categories of products. I have an aspx with a repeater on the left that lists the categories. And I want the products to be listed on the right. Category number is variable so I made an ascx with a DataList in it. When I try to do foreach category, ascx = new ascx(); then the DataList within this ascx control is null. ps: what I want to do is to preload all the products (thre is not much) and hide the divs and fadein fadeout them using jQuery when a category div is clicked. rightnow it is using jQuery.load(); and I don't like how the images load, cuz they download from top to bottom. • Entity Framework Performance Inconsistency Compared to Sql Management Studio

  I'm getting timeouts with a very basic EF statement. I'm simply doing a select from a single table with a Entity.Title.StartsWith("test") and a .Take(25). When I run this for a search that returns no results I get a timeout. If I profile and grab the sql statement it looks fine, and if I run that sql in Management Studio it runs in a fraction of a second! Why would the same query run sub-second in Management Studio and timeout when generated by EF and called from an Asp.Net app?

• What is dmake actually doing when installing a new module?

  I just mangaged to install the perl/Tk module after much struggle. I realise I don't understand what dmake or make etc is actually doing. I am using strawberry perl installed at C:\strawberry. Fisrt I unpacked the module to another directory and ran perl makefile.pl which worked fine. Then I tried dmake which did not work. I guess that will be obvious to people who know how this works. When I placed the module as a sub-directory of C:\strawberry I could run perl makefile.pl, dmake, dmake test and dmake install. My guess is that dmake install is adding some executable files to the interpreter and to work the module must be in a subdirectory. Is there any article anywhere that explains what it is doing in detail?

  I was wondering was the best way to invert the color pixels in the frame buffer is. I know it's possible to do with glReadPixels() and glDrawPixels() but the performance hit of those calls is pretty big. Basically, what I'm trying to do is have an inverted color cross-hair which is always visible no matter what's behind it. For instance, I'd have an arbitrary alpha mask bitmap or texture, have it render without depth test after the scene is drawn, and all the frame buffer pixels under the masked (full alpha) pixels of the texture would be inverted. I've been trying to do this with a texture, but I'm getting some strange results, also all the blending options I still find confusing.
