  • Database.ExecuteNonQuery does not return

    - by dan-waterbly
    I have a very odd issue. When I execute a specific database stored procedure from C# using SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery, my stored procedure is never executed. Furthermore, SQL Profiler does not register the command at all. I do not receive a command timeout, and no exeception is thrown. The weirdest thing is that this code has worked fine over 1,200,000 times, but for this one particular file I am inserting into the database, it just hangs forever. When I kill the application, I receive this error in the event log of the database server: "A fatal error occurued while reading the input stream from the network. The session will be terminated (input error: 64, output error: 0). Which makes me think that the database server is receiving the command, though SQL Profiler says otherwise. I know that the appropiate permissions are set, and that the connection string is right as this piece of code and stored procedure works fine with other files. Below is the code that calls the stored procedure, it may be important to note that the file I am trying to insert is 33.5MB, but I have added more than 10,000 files larger than 500MB, so I do not think the size is the issue: using (SqlConnection sqlconn = new SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["TheDatabase"].ConnectionString)) using (SqlCommand command = sqlconn.CreateCommand()) { command.CommandText = "Add_File"; command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; command.CommandTimeout = 30 //should timeout in 30 seconds, but doesn't... command.Parameters.AddWithValue("@ID", ID).SqlDbType = SqlDbType.BigInt; command.Parameters.AddWithValue("@BinaryData", byteArr).SqlDbType = SqlDbType.VarBinary; command.Parameters.AddWithValue("@FileName", fileName).SqlDbType = SqlDbType.VarChar; sqlconn.Open(); command.ExecuteNonQuery(); } There is no firewall between the server making the call and the database server, and the windows firewalls have been disabled to troubleshoot this issue.

  • Setting hidden input value in Javascript, then accessing it in codebehind

    - by Siegesmith
    I have been trying to set the value of a hidden input by using Javascript and then access the value from within my C# codebehind. When I run the code that is copied below, the value that is assigned to assignedIDs is "", which I assume is the default value for a hidden input. If I manually set the value in the html tag, then assignedIDs is set to that value. This behavior suggests to me that the value of the input is being reset (re-rendered?) between the onClientClick and onClick events firing. I would appreciate any help with the matter. I have spent hours trying to solve what seems like a very simple problem. html/javascript: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head runat="server"> <title>Admin Page - Manage Tasks</title> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> function PopulateAssignedIDHiddenInput() { var source = document.getElementById('assignedLinguistListBox'); var s = ""; var count = source.length; for (var i = count - 1; i >= 0; i--) { var item = source.options[i]; if (s == "") { s = source.options[i].value; } else { s = s.concat(",",source.options[i].value); } } document.getElementById('assignedIDHiddenInput').Value = s; // I have confirmed that, at this point, the value of // the hidden input is set properly } </script> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <asp:Panel id="EditMode" runat="server"> <table style="border: none;"> <tr> <td> <asp:Label ID="availableLinguistLabel" runat="server" Text="Available"></asp:Label><br /> <asp:ListBox ID="availableLinguistListBox" runat="server" Rows="10" SelectionMode="Multiple"></asp:ListBox> </td> <td> <input type="button" name="right" value="&gt;&gt;" onclick="Javascript:MoveItem('availableLinguistListBox', 'assignedLinguistListBox');" /><br /><br /> <input type="button" name="left" value="&lt;&lt;" onclick="Javascript:MoveItem('assignedLinguistListBox', 'availableLinguistListBox');" /> </td> <td> <asp:Label ID="assignedLinguistLabel" runat="server" Text="Assigned To"></asp:Label><br /> <asp:ListBox ID="assignedLinguistListBox" runat="server" Rows="10" SelectionMode="Multiple"></asp:ListBox> </td> </tr> </table> //-snip- <asp:Button ID="save_task_changes_button" runat="server" ToolTip="Click to save changes to task" Text="Save Changes" OnClick="save_task_changes_button_click" OnClientClick="Javascript:PopulateAssignedIDHiddenInput()" /> </asp:Panel> <!-- Hidden Inputs --> <!-- Note that I have also tried setting runat="server" with no change --> <input id="assignedIDHiddenInput" name="assignedIDHiddenInput" type="hidden" /> </div> </form> </body> c# protected void save_task_changes_button_click(object sender, EventArgs e) { string assignedIDs = Request.Form["assignedIDHiddenInput"]; // Here, assignedIDs == ""; also, Request.Params["assignedIDHiddenInput"] == "" // -snip- }

  • _beginthreadx and socket

    - by user638197
    hi, i have a question about the _beginthreadx function In the third and fourth parameter: if i have this line to create the thread hThread=(HANDLE)_beginthreadex(0,0, &RunThread, &m_socket,CREATE_SUSPENDED,&threadID ); m_socket is the socket that i want inside the thread (fourth parameter) and i have the RunThread function (third parameter) in this way static unsigned __stdcall RunThread (void* ptr) { return 0; } It is sufficient to create the thread independently if m_socket has something or not? Thanks in advance Thank you for the response Ciaran Keating helped me understand better the thread I'll explain a little more the situation I´m creating the tread in this function inside a class public: void getClientsConnection() { numberOfClients = 1; SOCKET temporalSocket = NULL; firstClient = NULL; secondClient = NULL; while (numberOfClients < 2) { temporalSocket = SOCKET_ERROR; while (temporalSocket == SOCKET_ERROR) { temporalSocket = accept(m_socket, NULL, NULL); //----------------------------------------------- HANDLE hThread; unsigned threadID; hThread=(HANDLE)_beginthreadex(0,0, &RunThread, &m_socket,CREATE_SUSPENDED,&threadID ); WaitForSingleObject( hThread, INFINITE ); if(!hThread) printf("ERROR AL CREAR EL HILO: %ld\n", WSAGetLastError()); //----------------------------------------------- } if(firstClient == NULL) { firstClient = temporalSocket; muebleC1 = temporalSocket; actionC1 = temporalSocket; ++numberOfClients; printf("CLIENTE 1 CONECTADO\n"); } else { secondClient = temporalSocket; muebleC2 = temporalSocket; actionC2 = temporalSocket; ++numberOfClients; printf("CLIENTE 2 CONECTADO\n"); } } } What i'm trying to do is to have the socket inside the thread while wait for a client connection Is this feasible as i have the code of the thread? I can change the state of the thread that is not a problem Thanks again

  • C# How to create various objects at runtime that can hold strongly typed data?

    - by JL
    Is it possible to create objects at runtime without having to have hard coded class definitions, then populate properties with primitives or even strongly typed data types? For example: Lets say I want to an XML config file that could hold configuration values for connecting to various systems in an SOA application. In C# I read in these values, but for each system the properties are different (e.g: SQL might have a connection string, while SharePoint might need a username + password + domain + url, while yet an smtp server would need username + password + port + url) So instead of creating static classes as follows public class SharePointConfiguration or public class SQLConfiguration, then have each class with custom properties (this is cumbersome) Is there not a more preferred way to achieve this, without using 1990's methods, in otherwords it would still be nice to have intellisense and code completion and named properties. Since this collection of properties (object) would be passed within the class and possible to other classes from function to function I am also wondering where this class definition would get defined if its all happening at run time. Any recommendations, and hope the question was clear enough. Would like to use language features, not hacks. Thank you.

  • INSERT INTO table doesn't work???

    - by Joann
    I found a tutorial from nettuts and it has a source code in it so tried implementing it in my site.. It is working now. However, it doesn't have a Registration system so I am making one. The thing is, as I have expected, my code is not working... It doesn't seem to know how to INSERT into the database. Here's the function that inserts data into the db. function register_User($un, $email, $pwd) { $query = "INSERT INTO users( username, password, email ) VALUES(:uname, :pwd, :email) LIMIT 1"; if($stmt = $this->conn->prepare($query)) { $stmt->bind_param(':uname', $un); $stmt->bind_param(':pwd', $pwd); $stmt->bind_param(':email', $email); $stmt->execute(); if($stmt->fetch()) { $stmt->close(); return true; } else return "The username or email you entered is already in use..."; } } I have debugged the connection to the database from within the class, it says it's connected. I tried using this method instead: function register($un, $email, $pwd) { $registerquery = $this->conn->query( "INSERT INTO users(uername, password, email) VALUES('".$un."', '".$pwd."', '".$email."')"); if($registerquery) { echo "<h4>Success</h4>"; } else { echo "<h4>Error</h4>"; } } And it echos "Error"... Can you please help me pen point the error in this??? :(

  • Groovy htmlunit getFirstByXPath returning null

    - by StartingGroovy
    I have had a few issues with HtmlUnit returning nulls lately and am looking for guidance. each of my results for grabbing the first row of a website have returned null. I am wondering if someone can A) explain why they might be returning null B) explain better ways (if there are some) to go about getting the information Here is my current code (URL is in the source): client = new WebClient(BrowserVersion.FIREFOX_3) client.javaScriptEnabled = false def url = "http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy-list/" page = client.getPage(url) IpAddress = page.getFirstByXPath("//html/body/div/div/form/table/tbody/tr/td[2]").getValue() println "IP Address is: $data" //returns null //Port_Number is an Image Country = page.getFirstByXPath("//html/body/div/div/form/table/tbody/tr/td[4][@class='country']/@rel").getValue() println "Country abbreviation is: $Country" //differentiate speed and connection by name of gif? Type = page.getFirstByXPath("//html/body/div/div/form/table/tbody/tr/td[7]").getValue() println "Proxy type is: $Type" Anonymity = page.getFirstByXPath("//html/body/div/div/form/table/tbody/tr/td[8]").getValue() println "Anonymity Level is: $Anonymity" client.closeAllWindows() Right now all of my XPaths return null and .getValue() obviously doesn't work on null. I also have questions as to what I should do about the PORT since it is an image? Is there a better alternative than downloading it and attempting to solve it by OCR? Side Note There is no significance in this site, I was just looking for a site that I could practice scraping on (the last one I ran into issues of fragment identities and couldn't get an answer to: HtmlUnit getByXpath returns null and HtmlUnit and Fragment Identities )

  • Ajax Calendar Date Range with JavaScript

    - by hungrycoder
    I have the following code to compare two dates with the following conditions Scenario: On load there are two text boxes (FromDate, ToDate) with Ajax calendar extenders. On load From Date shows today's date. when date less than today was selected in both text boxes(FromDate, ToDate), it alerts user saying "You cannot select a day earlier than today!" When ToDate's Selected date < FromDate's Selected Date, alerts user saying "To Date must be Greater than From date." and at the same time it clears the selected Date in ToDate Text box. Codeblock: ASP.NET , AJAX <asp:TextBox ID="txtFrom" runat="server" ReadOnly="true"></asp:TextBox> <asp:ImageButton ID="imgBtnFrom" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/images/Cal20x20.png" Width="20" Height="20" ImageAlign="TextTop" /> <asp:CalendarExtender ID="txtFrom_CalendarExtender" PopupButtonID="imgBtnFrom" runat="server" Enabled="True" OnClientDateSelectionChanged="checkDate" TargetControlID="txtFrom" Format="MMM d, yyyy"> </asp:CalendarExtender> <asp:TextBox ID="txtTo" runat="server" ReadOnly="true"></asp:TextBox> <asp:ImageButton ID="imgBtnTo" runat="server" ImageUrl="~/images/Cal20x20.png" Width="20" Height="20" ImageAlign="TextTop" /> <asp:CalendarExtender ID="txtTo_CalendarExtender" OnClientDateSelectionChanged="compareDateRange" PopupButtonID="imgBtnTo" runat="server" Enabled="True" TargetControlID="txtTo" Format="MMM d, yyyy"> </asp:CalendarExtender> <asp:HiddenField ID="hdnFrom" runat="server" /> <asp:HiddenField ID="hdnTo" runat="server" /> C# Code protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { txtFrom.Text = string.Format("{0: MMM d, yyyy}", DateTime.Today); if (Page.IsPostBack) { if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(hdnFrom.Value as string)) { txtFrom.Text = hdnFrom.Value; } if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(hdnTo.Value as string)) { txtTo.Text = hdnTo.Value; } } } JavaScript Code <script type="text/javascript"> function checkDate(sender, args) { document.getElementById('<%=txtTo.ClientID %>').value = ""; if (sender._selectedDate < new Date()) { alert("You cannot select a day earlier than today!"); sender._selectedDate = new Date(); // set the date back to the current date sender._textbox.set_Value(sender._selectedDate.format(sender._format)); //assign the value to the hidden field. document.getElementById('<%=hdnFrom.ClientID %>').value = sender._selectedDate.format(sender._format); //reset the to date to blank. document.getElementById('<%=txtTo.ClientID %>').value = ""; } else { document.getElementById('<%=hdnFrom.ClientID %>').value = sender._selectedDate.format(sender._format); } } function compareDateRange(sender, args) { var fromDateString = document.getElementById('<%=txtFrom.ClientID %>').value; var fromDate = new Date(fromDateString); if (sender._selectedDate < new Date()) { alert("You cannot select a Date earlier than today!"); sender._selectedDate = ""; sender._textbox.set_Value(sender._selectedDate) } if (sender._selectedDate <= fromDate) { alert("To Date must be Greater than From date."); sender._selectedDate = ""; sender._textbox.set_Value(sender._selectedDate) } else { document.getElementById('<%=hdnTo.ClientID %>').value = sender._selectedDate.format(sender._format); } } </script> Error Screen(Hmmm :X) Now in ToDate, when you select Date Earlier than today or Date less than FromDate, ToDate Calendar shows NaN for Every Date and ,0NaN for Year

  • ODP.NET Procedure Compilation

    - by Bobcat1506
    When I try to execute a create procedure using ODP.NET I get back ORA-24344: success with compilation error. However, when I run the same statement in SQL Developer it compiles successfully. Does anyone know what I need to change to get my procedure to compile? Is it a character set issue? I am using Oracle 10g Express, .NET 3.5 SP 1, and ODP.NET 2.111.7.20 (version from Oracle.DataAccess.dll) [TestMethod] public void OdpNet_CreateProcedure() { ConnectionStringSettings settings = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ODP.NET"]; using (var con = new OracleConnection(settings.ConnectionString)) { con.InfoMessage += new OracleInfoMessageEventHandler(con_InfoMessage); con.Open(); var cmd = new OracleCommand(); cmd.Connection = con; cmd.CommandText = @" CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE TABLE1_GET ( P_CURSOR OUT SYS_REFCURSOR ) IS BEGIN OPEN P_CURSOR FOR SELECT * FROM TABLE1; END;"; cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); // ORA-24344: success with compilation error cmd.CommandText = @"ALTER PROCEDURE TABLE1_GET COMPILE"; cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); // ORA-24344: success with compilation error } } void con_InfoMessage(object sender, OracleInfoMessageEventArgs eventArgs) { System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine(eventArgs.Message); }

  • How to keep form items selected after post request?

    - by Ole Jak
    I have a simple html form. On php page. A simple list is placed on form. I submit this form (selected list items) to this page so it gives me page refresh. I want items which were POSTED to be selected after form was submited. How to do such thing? For my form I use such code: <form action="FormPage.php" method="post"> <select id="Streams" class="multiselect ui-widget-content ui-corner-all" multiple="multiple" name="Streams[]"> <?php $query = " SELECT s.streamId, s.userId, u.username FROM streams AS s JOIN user AS u ON s.userId = u.id LIMIT 0 , 30 "; $streams_set = mysql_query($query, $connection); confirm_query($streams_set); $streams_count = mysql_num_rows($streams_set); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($streams_set)){ echo '<option value="' , $row['streamId'] , '"> ' , $row['username'] , ' (' , $row['streamId'] ,')' ,'</option> '; } ?> </select> <br/> <input type="submit" class="ui-state-default ui-corner-all" name="submitForm" id="submitForm" value="Play Stream from selected URL's!"/> </fieldset> </form>

  • How do I send data between two computers over the internet

    - by Johan
    I have been struggling with this for the entire day now, I hope somebody can help me with this. My problem is fairly simple: I wish to transfer data (mostly simple commands) from one PC to another over the internet. I have been able to achieve this using sockets in Java when both computers are connected to my home router. I then connected both computers to the internet using two different mobile phones and attempted to transmit the data again. I used the mobile phones as this provides a direct route to the internet and if I use my router I have to set up port forwarding, at least, that is how I understand it. I think the problem lies in the method that I set up the client socket. I used: Socket kkSocket = new Socket(ipAddress, 3333); where ipAddress is the IP address of the computer running the server. I got the IP address by right-clicking on the connection, status, support. Is that the correct IP address to use or where can I obtain the address of the server? Also, is it possible to get a fixed name for my computer that I can use instead of entering the IP address, as this changes every time I connect to the internet using my mobile phone? Alternatively, are there better methods to solving my problem such as using http, and if so, where can I find more information about this? Thanks!

  • JAVA MySql multiple word search

    - by user1703849
    i have a database in MySql that has a name column in it which contains several words(description). I am connected to database with java through eclipse. I have a search, that returns results if only name field contains one word. id: name: info: type: 1 balloon big red balloon big 2 house expensive beautiful luxury 3 chicken wings deep fried wings tasty these are just random words but as an example my search can only see ex. balloon and then show info, but if i type chicken wings, it does nothing. so it possible somehow to search from columns with multiple words? this is my search code below import java.io.*; import java.sql.*; import java.util.*; class Search { public static void main(String[] args) { Scanner inp``ut = new Scanner(System.in); try { Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection( "jdbc:mysql://example/mydb", "user", "password"); Statement stmt = (Statement) con.createStatement(); System.out.print("enter search: "); String name = input.next(); String SQL = "SELECT * FROM menu where name LIKE '" + name + "'"; ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery(SQL); while (rs.next()) { System.out.println("Name: " +rs.getString("name")); System.out.println("Description: " + rs.getString("info") ); System.out.println("Price: " + rs.getString("Price")); } } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("ERROR: " + e.getMessage()); } } }

  • Accessing mySQL from two ports: Problems with iptables

    - by marekventur
    Hi! I'm trying to make my mySQL-server (running on Ubuntu) listen on port 3306 and 110, because I would like to access it from a network with very few open ports. So far I've found this answer telling me to do iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth0 -p tcp --dport 110 -j REDIRECT --to-port 3306 but all I got is: # mysql -h mydomain.com -P 3306 -u username --password=xyz Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g. Your MySQL connection id is 68863 Server version: 5.0.75-0ubuntu10.5 (Ubuntu) Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the buffer. mysql> exit Bye # mysql -h mydomain.com -P 110 -u username --password=xyz ERROR 2003 (HY000): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'mydomain.com' (111) I'm not an expert with iptables, so I not sure where to look for the problem. I'm googling around for quite some time, but haven't found anything to help me yet. • Getting a gestureoverlayview

    - by Codejoy
    I have been using some nice tutorials on drawing graphics on my android. I wanted to also add in the cool gesture demo found here: http://developer.android.com/resources/articles/gestures.html That takes these lines of code: GestureOverlayView gestures = (GestureOverlayView) findViewById(R.id.gestures); gestures.addOnGesturePerformedListener(this); This is fine and dandy yet I realize in my demo i'm trying to build using code from "Playing with Graphics in Android". The demos make sense, everything makes sense but I found out by using: setContentView(new Panel(this)); as is required by the Playing With Graphics tutorials, then the findViewById seems to no longer be valid and returns null. At first I was about to post a stupider question as to why this is happening, a quick test of playing with the setContentView made me realize the cause of findViewById returning null, I just do not know how to remedy this issue. Whats the key I am missing here? I realize that the new Panel is doinking some reference up but I am not sure how to make the connection here. The: R.id.gestures is defined right int he main.xml as: (just like the tutorial) <android.gesture.GestureOverlayView android:id="@+id/gestures" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="0dip" android:layout_weight="1.0" /> So I did confirm the setContentView(new Panel(this)) is causing the issue. So I know the issue is that I have to figure out how to add the android.gesture.GestureOverlayView to the panel class somehow, I am just not sure how to go about this. After fighting with this I generally know what I need to do just now how to do it. I think I need either the equivalent of creating a panel in that main.xml OR figuring out how to build whats in main.xml for the gestures in code. I am close because I did this: GestureOverlayView gestures = new GestureOverlayView(this); which gets me a non null gestures now, unfortunately since I am not telling it to fill Parent anywhere I don't think its really showing up, so I am trying hard to figure out layout pa rams. Am I even on the right track?

  • XMLHttpRequest POST Data Size

    - by usurper
    Hi, Is there a size limit to a XHR POST request? I am using the POST method for saving textdata into MySQL using PHP script and the data is cut off. Firebug sends me the following message: ... Firebug request size limit has been reached by Firebug. ... This is my code for sending the data: function makeXHR(recordData) { xmlhttp = createXHR(); var body = "q=" + encodeURIComponent(recordData); xmlhttp.open("POST", "insertRowData.php", true); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Content-length", body.length); xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Connection", "close"); xmlhttp.onreadystatechange = function() { if(xmlhttp.readyState == 4 && xmlhttp.status == 200) { //alert(xmlhttp.responseText); alert("Records were saved successfully!"); } } xmlhttp.send(body); } The only solution I can think of is splitting the data and making a queue of XHR requests but I don't like it. Is there another way?

  • jquery with php loading file

    - by Marcus Solv
    I'm trying to use jquery with a simple php code: $('#some').click(function() { <?php require_once('some1.php?name="some' + index + '"'); ?> }); It shows no error, so I don't know what is wrong. In some1 I have: <?php //Start session session_start(); //Include database connection details require_once('../sql/config.php'); //Connect to mysql server $link = mysql_connect(DB_HOST, DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD); if(!$link) { die('Failed to connect to server: ' . mysql_error()); } //Select database $db = mysql_select_db(DB_DATABASE); if(!$db) { die("Unable to select database"); } //Function to sanitize values received from the form. Prevents SQL injection function clean($str) { $str = @trim($str); if(get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $str = stripslashes($str); } return mysql_real_escape_string($str); } //Sanitize the POST values $name = clean($_GET['name']); ?> It's not complete because I want to make a sql command (insert). I want when I click in #some to execute that file (create a entry in the table that isn't define yet).

  • How can I get git to work with a remote server?

    - by Adrienne
    I am the CM person for a small company that just started using Git. We have two Git repositories currently hosted on a Windows box that is our all-purpose Windows server. But, we just set up a dedicated server for our CM software on an Ubuntu Linux server named "Callisto". So I created a test Git repository on Callisto. I gave its directory all of the proper permissions recursively. I had the sysadmin create a login for me on Callisto, and I created a key to use for logging in via SSH. I set up my key to use a passphrase; I don't know if that could be contributing to my problems? Anyway, I know my SSH login works because I tested it through puTTY. But, even after hours of trials and head scratching, I can't get my Windows Git bash (mSysGit) to talk to Callisto for the purposes of pushing or pulling Callisto's git repository files. I keep getting "Fatal error. The remote end hung up unexpectedly." And I've even gotten the error that Git doesn't recognize the test repository on Callisto as a git repository. I read online that the "Fatal error...hung up unexpectedly" is usually a problem with the server connection or permissions. So what am I missing or overlooking here? And why doesn't a pull using the git:// protocol work, since that only uses read-only access? Group and public permissions for the git repository's directory on Callisto are set to read and execute, but not write. If anyone could help, I would be so grateful. Thank you.

  • Datareceived Serialport event stops raising after some seconds

    - by Mario
    Hi, I was hoping someone could help me out with this problem. I have a system (VB .NET) where I must read a person's weight (RS232 Sluice) and id (Fingerprint - 2 biometric reader, rs232) and compare it to a database. I have 3 serialports in my app, one for the sluice and the other 2 are to receive the id from the fingerprint readers, both of which call the same sub to get the id from the reader. I've been testing just one reader and it seemed to work fine, I got data from the datareceived and joined it together to get the id. The problem comes at this moment: I put a finger, sends the id, if it's ok sends a message, otherwise, writes the id to a textbox. But in-between reads, if I let 5 or 10 seconds pass without putting a finger on the reader it seems like I get no data at all anymore, the datareceived event nevers gets raised but if I keep putting a finger constantly it works pretty good, this is really weird to me. I was thinking of some things: **Maybe the port gets closed somehow after some time? I never call the CLose() method **The fact both datareceived eventhandlers call the same method and delegate **Maybe the connection settings are missing something? I tested with hyperterminal and the port keeps getting info even after time without activity and I use the same config with my application, maybe I need to change more settings like DTEenable and RTSenable? Please I need some help with this issue, it's to control access so it needs to be running 24/7 thanks in advance!

  • [C++][Boost] Acceptor and Problems with Async_Accept

    - by bobber205
    See code. :P I am able to receive new connections before async_accept() has been called. My delegate function is also never called so I can't manage any connections I receive, rendering the new connections useless. ;) So here's my question. Is there a way to prevent the Boost ASIO acceptor from getting new connections on its own and only getting connections from async_accept()? Thanks! bool AlexSocket::StartListening(int port) { bool didStart = false; if (!this->listening) { //try to listen acceptor = new tcp::acceptor(this->myService); boost::asio::ip::tcp::endpoint endpoint(boost::asio::ip::tcp::v4(), port); acceptor->open(endpoint.protocol()); acceptor->set_option(boost::asio::ip::tcp::acceptor::reuse_address(true)); acceptor->bind(endpoint); //CAN GET NEW CONNECTIONS HERE (before async_accept is called) acceptor->listen(); didStart = true; //probably change? tcp::socket* tempNewSocket = new tcp::socket(this->myService); acceptor->async_accept(*tempNewSocket, boost::bind(&AlexSocket::NewConnection, this, tempNewSocket, boost::asio::placeholders::error) ); } else //already started! return false; this->listening = didStart; return didStart; } //this function is never called :( void AlexSocket::NewConnection(tcp::socket* s, const boost::system::error_code& error) { cout << "New Connection Made" << endl; //Start new accept async tcp::socket* tempNewSocket = new tcp::socket(this->myService); acceptor->async_accept(*tempNewSocket, boost::bind(&AlexSocket::NewConnection, this, tempNewSocket, boost::asio::placeholders::error) ); }

  • How to find out where a thread lock happend?

    - by SchlaWiener
    One of our company's Windows Forms application had a strange problem for several month. The app worked very reliable for most of our customers but on some PC's (mostly with a wireless lan connection) the app sometimes just didn't respond anymore. (You click on the UI and windows ask you to wait or kill the app). I wasn't able to track down the problem for a long time but now I figured out what happend. The app had this line of code // don't blame me for this. Wasn't my code :D Control.CheckForIllegalCrossThreadCalls = false and used some background threads to modify the controls. No I found a way to reproduce the application stopping responding bug on my dev machine and tracked it down to a line where I actually used Invoke() to run a task in the main thread. Me.Invoke(MyDelegate, arg1, arg2) Obviously there was a thread lock somewhere. After removing the Control.CheckForIllegalCrossThreadCalls = false statement and refactoring the whole programm to use Invoke() if modifying a control from a background thread, the problem is (hopefully) gone. However, I am wondering if there is a way to find such bugs without debugging every line of code (Even if I break into debugger after the app stops responding I can't tell what happend last, because the IDE didn't jump to the Invoke() statement) In other words: If my apps hangs how can I figure out which line of code has been executed last? Maybe even on the customers PC. I know VS2010 offers some backwards debugging feature, maybe that would be a solution, but currently I am using VS2008.

  • Execute SSH commands on Cisco router. Codeigniter SSH library

    - by jomajo
    I have a little problem. I'm using Codeigniter with SSH library written by Shuky (https://bitbucket.org/quicktips/codeigniter-ssh2-library/src/a444968345ba/SSH.php -- You can see the code by following this link). Everything related with SSH works fine with other devices, but when I try to use this library and execute commands on Cisco devices, nothing happens (commands are not executed). I know that the connection is successful, but I can't execute any commands. When I try to run and execute comands through SSH on Cisco devices I get this error: A PHP Error was encountered Severity: Warning Message: stream_set_blocking() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given Filename: libraries/SSH.php Line Number: 128 A PHP Error was encountered Severity: Warning Message: fread() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given Filename: libraries/SSH.php Line Number: 129 In the library these lines look like this: /** * Get stream data * * @access privte * @return bool */ function _get_stream_data($stream) { stream_set_blocking( $stream, true ); while( $buf = fread($stream,4096) ) { $this->data .= $buf.'~'; } return TRUE; } line 128 - stream_set_blocking( $stream, true ); line 129 - while( $buf = fread($stream,4096) ) { Maybe you guys know where the problem is? • Is there a better way to write named-pipes in F#?

    Hi I am new to F#. I am trying to communicate with java from F# using named pipe. • Migrate Data and Schema from MySQL to SQL Server

    - by colithium
    Are there any free solutions for automatically migrating a database from MySQL to SQL Server Server that "just works"? I've been attempting this simple (at least I thought so) task all day now. I've tried: SQL Server Management Studio's Import Data feature Create an empty database Tasks - Import Data... .NET Framework Data Provider for Odbc Valid DSN (verified it connects) Copy data from one or more tables or views Check 1 VERY simple table Click Preview Get Error: The preview data could not be retrieved. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: ERROR [42000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver][mysqld-5.1.45-community]You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '"table_name"' at line 1 (myodbc5.dll) A similar error occurs if I go through the rest of the wizard and perform the operation. The failed step is "Setting Source Connection" the error refers to retrieving column information and then lists the above error. It can retrieve column information just fine when I modify column mappings so I really don't know what the issue is. I've also tried getting various MySql tools to output ddl statements that SQL Server understand but haven't succeeded. I've tried with MySQL v5.1.11 to SQL Server 2005 and with MySQL v5.1.45 to SQL Server 2008 (with ODBC drivers 3.51.27.00 and 5.01.06.00 respectively)
