  • Assembly unavailable after Web.config change

    - by tags2k
    I'm using a custom framework that uses reflection to do a GetTypeByName(string fullName) on the fully-qualified type name that it gets from the database, to create an instance of said type and add it to the page, resulting in a standard modular kind of thing. GetTypeByName is a utility function of mine that simply iterates through Thread.GetDomain().GetAssemblies(), then performs an assembly.GetType(fullName) to find the relevant type. Obviously this result gets cached for future reference and speed. However, I'm experiencing some issues whereby if the web.config gets updated (and, in some scarier instances if the application pool gets recycled) then it will lose all knowledge of certain assemblies, resulting in the inability to render an instance of the module type. Debugging shows that the missing assembly literally does not exist in the current thread assemblies list. To get around this I added a second check which is a bit dirty but recurses through the /bin/ directory's DLLs and checks that each one exists in the assemblies list. If it doesn't, it loads it using Assembly.Load and fixing the context issue thanks to 'Solving the Assembly Load Context Problem'. This would work, only it seems that (and I'm aware this shouldn't be possible) some projects still have access to the missing assembly, for example my actual web project rather than the framework itself - and it then complains that duplicate references have been added! Has anyone ever heard of anything like this, or have any ideas why an assembly would simply drop out of existence on a config change? Short of a solution, what is the most elegant workaround to get all the assemblies in the bin to reload? It needs to be all in one "hit" so that the site visitors don't see any difference other than a small delay, so an app_offline.htm file is out of the question. Programatically renaming a DLL in the bin and then naming it back does work, but requires "modify" permissions for the IIS user account, which is insane. Thanks for any pointers the community can gather!

  • How to create TestContext for Spring Test?

    - by HDave
    Newcomer to Spring here, so pardon me if this is a stupid question. I have a relatively small Java library that implements a few dozen beans (no database or GUI). I have created a Spring Bean configuration file that other Java projects use to inject my beans into their stuff. I am now for the first time trying to use Spring Test to inject some of these beans into my junit test classes (rather than simply instantiating them). I am doing this partly to learn Spring Test and partly to force the tests to use the same bean configuration file I provide for others. In the Spring documentation is says I need to create an application context using the "TestContext" class that comes with Spring. I believe this should be done in a spring XML file that I reference via the @ContextConfiguration annotation on my test class. @ContextConfiguration({"/test-applicationContext.xml"}) However, there is no hint as to what to put in the file! When I go to run my tests from within Eclipse it errors out saying "failed to load Application Context"....of course.

  • How to properly use Object Contexts in Entity Framework using BackgroundWorker

    - by OffApps Cory
    Good day, I am developing using Entity Framework and WPF, and I am encountering some errors and I don't know why. When saving a record (using a BackgroundWorker), I set the entities change tracker to nothing (null), attach the record to a new disposable context, save it, detach, and dispose of the context. Saving a record fires and event in the MainViewModel of the program that the other ViewModels (including the one that is saving) need to refresh their entities to reflect changes. Private Sub _saveRecordWorker_DoWork(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.DoWorkEventArgs) Handles _saveRecordWorker.DoWork Using MyContext As New RVShippingEntities Dim MyShipment = CType(ShipmentRecord, IEntityWithChangeTracker) MyShipment.SetChangeTracker(Nothing) MyContext.Attach(MyShipment) MyContext.Detach(ShipmentRecord) End Using End Sub The Refresh background worker is similar, but it has a Do While block to keep it from interfering with the save worker (which doesn't appear to be working; hence the post). When I save (and it subsequently refreshes) I get the following error: The calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it. I thought that with the DoWhile block, it would wait (and when i step through it does) until the save thread finished, and all would be good. But it would seem that something (either the main thread or the save thread) is still doing something that is interfering. Is there a better way of doing this? Am I doing it is a goofy kludgey fashion? Any help would be appreciated. (Apparently Firefox recognized kludgey as a word. Interesting)

  • Windows 7 - Add shell command for .png file

    - by Aximili
    On Windows XP, you could go to Folder Options - File Types, select PNG, create a new action, such as this Action: Crush Application: "F:\Programs\PNGCrush\crush.bat" "%1" So you can right click on a .png file and select Crush. How do you do this on Windows 7? I assume through regedit or .reg file, but how? EDIT: Thank you for all your replies... but I'd like to avoid "Open With" or 3rd party program if possible.

  • On Windows XP, Start > Run "My Documents" sometimes doesn't work

    - by Clayton Hughes
    On all of my home computers, I can enter "my documents" into the Start Run prompt and the My Documents folder of the current profile will open up. What's more, I can continue typing subfolders, files, etc. and auto-complete works and it's smart and enjoyable. I can't check at the moment, but I'm almost positive entries like "My Pictures" and "My Music" also go to their correct folders. On my work computers, if I enter "my documents" into the Start Run prompt, I get the following error: "Windows cannot find 'my'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start Button, and then click Search." I can sort of circumvent this by creating a shortcut in my PATH named 'my' that points to My Documents folder, but this doesn't solve the auto-complete option (and it's otherwise imperfect, of course, because "my pictures" or "my music" all direct to the same place. A google search doesn't provide much help on this, although it does identify a poster in 2007 with this same question at another board: http://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversion/index.php/t124813.html (Login required, but Google cache available here: http://preview.tinyurl.com/ygxhwwl) Is this just a limitation of the networks belonging to a domain, or is there some way I can get this functionality back? My documents folder does live in the standard place (C:\Documents and Settings{username}\My Documents), and not on a network drive or anything. It's probably worth adding that the computers are part of some freakish Novell domain thing, too. I'm not in IT here so I'm not too up on the details. Thanks for any help/suggestions!

  • Configure Console2 to open bash in current folder

    - by davidkennedy85
    I've seen this but it doesn't work for me. I'm not using Git's version of bash but the one that comes with cygwin, so that could be part of the problem. Here is how I have my tab in Console2 set up: Title: bash.exe Shell: C:\cygwin\bin\bash.exe --login -i Startup dir: %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH% This is my registry entry: Directory shell Console2 Open Console2 Here command "C:\Console2\Console.exe" -d "%1" bash always starts in my home directory instead of the directory I'm clicking on, then I have to cd /cygdrive/d/code ... etc. I tried removing the value in the "Startup dir" field, changing it to %1, %1% with no luck. I also tried this solution but it didn't work for me either: Title: bash.exe Shell: C:\cygwin\bin\bash.exe -l Registry: Directory shell Console2 Open Console2 Here command "C:\Console2\Console.exe" -d "%V" .profile file in root directory: cd - Any ideas?

  • how to disable moving down on Enter key in Excel 2007?

    - by earlyadopter
    There used to be a check-box in preferences in Excel 2003 to disable moving down on Enter key after you edited a cell. Where could I find that setting in Excel 2007? <whining on>It drives me insane how microsoft trashes users skills and "fingers" memory to make what their new users may be will find easier. What about us, using these products for ten years?<whining off> I want to control moving around with arrow keys, and Enter to only return me from the cell editing mode to navigation, not moving down. I'm not in a data entry business!! I'm analyzing data, editing just few cells time-to-time.

  • Can I make the shift+right-click the default right-click action on tasks in the task menu?

    - by fostandy
    When I right click on a running task in my start menu I usually get 3 options: Launch a new copy of this - I don't use this Pin this program to the taskbar - I don't use this Close window - I use this. Lots. So much so that in Windows XP I used to right click and press 'c'. Which I can no longer do because while it hilights the close MenuItem, it doesn't actually invoke it. If I shift+right-click on the task, I get the old menu upon which I can just hit C. This old menu is also generally much more useful as it has many more options I use considerably more frequently. Is there a way I can make this menu pop up as the default right-click menu? This is also proving to be a real pain to google. As I'm always up for improving my goo-fu, if you do google a fix to this problem I would appreciate it if you could share the keywords/phrases used.

  • Firefox addon for searching with different search engines

    - by alex
    I want to be able to right click on the selected text and, instead of Search Google for [whatever is selected], I want to have a submenu that allows me to choose the search engine I want. The list of search engines has to be the exact list of search engines I have. I know there is such an add-on, because I've used something like this in the past, only I can't remember its name.

  • Extracting Windows 8 Start Screen Patterns

    - by oreon
    Is there any way to extract the Windows 8 Start Screen patterns, in order to use them as standalone wallpapers on other systems? For example see this screenshot: I am interested in the dark blue background. I heard that this background is somehow adapted to your chosen color theme. So many different variations should exist. Engadget has an article here briefly talking about these background patterns and the different color schemes. They call them "personalization tattoos".

  • How to make a css navigation menu "selected" option still clickable

    - by aslum
    So I have a fairly simple vertical CSS menu based off of UL. <ul class="vertnav"> <li><a href="unselected1.php">Item1</a></li> <li><a href="unselected2.php">Item2</a></li> <li><a href="selected.php" class="vertnavdown">Selected</a></li> </ul> I want three basic colors (say tan for default LI, orange for VERTNAVDOWN, and red for A:HOVER. However I can't seem to get the vertnavdown class to inherit right, and the .vertnav li a:visited overrides it every time. if I use !important to force it through I can't seem to also get the hover to work. Any suggestions? I thought I understood inheritance in CSS but I guess I don't. .vertnav{ list-style: none; margin: 0px; width: 172px; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; text-align: left; height: 45px; } .vertnav li{ margin: 0px; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; border-bottom: 0px none; border-right: 0px none; border-top: 1px solid #fff; border-left: 0px none; text-align: left; height: 45px; width: 172px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; } .vertnav li a{ display: block; text-align: left; color: #666666; font-weight: bold; background-color: #FFEEC1; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; text-decoration: none; padding-top: 10px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 15px; height: 45px; } .vertnav li a:visited{ display: block; text-align: left; color: #666666; background-color: #FFEEC1; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; padding-top: 10px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 15px; height: 45px; } .vertnav li a:hover{ color: white; background-color: #ffbf0c; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; height: 45px; text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold; } .vertnavdown a { display:block; color: #FFF; background-color: #ff9000; } .vertnavdown a:hover { background-color: #ffbf0c; } ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Edited to add CSS. ^^^^^^

  • ie9/CSS: Flyout menu not working in ie9, but looks great in Firefox/Chrome

    - by Brandon
    Please see this flyout menu: http://www.caseen.com/store.html. It looks amazing in both Firefox and Chrome, but not in IE9! Trying to see what is going on =(. It looks like ie9 is completing ignoring the stylesheet, but in error checking and clicking ie9 direct mode, it shows up however VERY ugly with huge nasty white borders around the links! Please see my code: <div class="flyout"> <ul> <!--START: CATEGORIES--> <!--START: CATEGORY_FORMAT--> <li><a href="view_category.asp?cat=CATID">&nbsp;CATEGORY</a> <!--END: CATEGORY_FORMAT--> <ul><!--START: SUB_CATEGORY_FORMAT--> <li><a href="view_category.asp?cat=CATID">&nbsp;CATEGORY</a></li> <!--END: SUB_CATEGORY_FORMAT--></ul> <!--END: CATEGORIES--> </li> </ul> </div> AND CSS .flyout { width: 130px; height: auto; position:relative; margin: -10 0; padding: 0; z-index:10000; } .flyout ul li a { display:block; text-decoration:none; color: #fff; width: 130px; border: solid; border-color: #000; border-width: 0 0 0 5px; text-align:left; font-size:12px; line-height: 25px; } .flyout ul { padding:0px; list-style-type: none; } .flyout ul li { float:left; margin-right:1px; position:relative; } .flyout ul li ul { display: none; } .flyout ul li:hover a { border: solid; border-color: #fff; border-width: 0 2 0 5px; color: #60dfe5; } .flyout ul li:hover ul { display:block; position:absolute; top:0; left:130px; width:10px; } .flyout ul li:hover ul li a.hide { background:#000; color:#fff; } .flyout ul li:hover ul li:hover a.hide {width:180px;} .flyout ul li:hover ul li ul {display: none;} .flyout ul li:hover ul li a { display:block; background:#000; color:#60dfe5; width:200px; } .flyout ul li:hover ul li a:hover { background:#000; color:#fff; } Thanks, Brandon

  • jQuery animation menu height

    - by StealthRT
    Hey all i have the following jsfiddle Fiddle that i need some help on. When i have my mouse over it-it expands out to a static width but, depending on the text length, it grabs it by the inner's text $('.inner').height(). Problem being is that it goes a little too far beyond the last text list item and when i roll over any of the text in the menu box it slides back up a little. How can prevent it from (1) sliding back up and (2) have the exact height needed without even having the extra space at the bottom of the box for its height? The JS: $(document).ready(function() { $('#menuSquare, .inner').mouseout(function() { theMenu('close'); }); $('#menuSquare, .inner').mouseover(function() { theMenu('open'); }); }); function theMenu(what2Do) { if (what2Do == 'open') { $('#menuSquare').stop().animate({ width: 190, //95 height: $('.inner').height(), duration:900, 'padding-top' : 10, 'padding-right' : 10, 'padding-bottom' : 10, 'padding-left' : 10, backgroundColor: '#fff', opacity: 0.8 }, 1000,'easeOutCubic') } else { $('#menuSquare').stop().animate({ width: "20", height: "20", padding: '0px', backgroundColor: '#e51937', opacity: 0.8 }, 500,'easeInCirc') } }? The HTML: <div id="menuSquare" class="TheMenuBox" style="overflow: hidden; width: 20px; height: 20px; background-color: rgb(229, 25, 55); opacity: 0.8; padding: 0px;"> <div class="inner"> <p style="text-decoration:none; color:#666; cursor: pointer; " onclick="changeImg('Custom Homes');">Custom Homes</p> <p style="text-decoration:none; color:#666; cursor: pointer; " onclick="changeImg('Full Service Hotels');">Full Service Hotels</p> <p style="text-decoration:none; color:#666; cursor: pointer; " onclick="changeImg('Mixed Use');">Mixed Use</p> <p style="text-decoration:none; color:#666; cursor: pointer; " onclick="changeImg('Office');">Office</p> <p style="text-decoration:none; color:#666; cursor: pointer; " onclick="changeImg('Retail');">Retail</p> <p style="text-decoration:none; color:#666; cursor: pointer; " onclick="changeImg('Select Service Hotels');">Select Service Hotels</p> </div> </div>

  • I need help with Widget and PendingIntents

    - by YaW
    Hi, I've asked here a question about Task Killers and widgets stop working (SO Question) but now, I have reports of user that they don't use any Task Killer and the widgets didn't work after a while. I have a Nexus One and I don't have this problem. I don't know if this is a problem of memory or something. Based on the API: A PendingIntent itself is simply a reference to a token maintained by the system describing the original data used to retrieve it. This means that, even if its owning application's process is killed, the PendingIntent itself will remain usable from other processes that have been given it. So, I don't know why widget stop working, if Android doesn't kill the PendingIntent by itself, what's the problem? This is my manifest code: <receiver android:name=".widget.InstantWidget" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.appwidget.action.APPWIDGET_UPDATE" /> </intent-filter> <meta-data android:name="android.appwidget.provider" android:resource="@xml/widget_provider" /> </receiver> And the widget code: public class InstantWidget extends AppWidgetProvider { public static ArrayList<Integer> alWidgetsId = new ArrayList<Integer>(); private static final String PREFS_NAME = "com.cremagames.instant.InstantWidget"; private static final String PREF_PREFIX_NOM = "nom_"; private static final String PREF_PREFIX_RAW = "raw_"; /** * Esto se llama cuando se crea el widget. I have the possibility to put differents widgets on the desktop, that's why I use the widgetId as the "unique id" for the PendingIntent. Any ideas please? The 70% of the functionality of my app is the widgets, and it isn't working for some users :( Thanks in advance and sorry for my English.

  • Jquery fade and swap an element when clicked which will also relate to an accordian menu

    - by Nik
    You will notice when you click posture 1 the description drops down and images appear on the right. Now when you click posture 2 or posture 3 the images and description change as they should. What I need to do now is - If posture 1 has been clicked and then posture 2 is clicked the posture 1 menu needs to close so that there is only one posture description visible at one time. If I could also make it so that if the current open posture item is clicked so that it closes and there are no open posture descriptions that there also no images displayed on the right. Finally is there a way to make sure only one set of animation images is running, because just say the user goes through all 26 options and they continue to run in the background it may get sluggish (thanks to Nick Craver for bringing that up). At this stage only posture 1, 2 and 3 are available. Ok finally some code - //Description drop-down boxes $(document).ready(function(){ //Hide (Collapse) the toggle containers on load $(".toggle_container").hide(); //Switch the "Open" and "Close" state per click $("h5.trigger").toggle(function(){ $(this).addClass("active"); }, function () { $(this).removeClass("active"); }); //Slide up and down on click $("h5.trigger").click(function(){ $(this).next(".toggle_container").slideToggle("slow"); }); }); //Images on the right fade in and out thanks to aSeptik $(document).ready(function(){ $('#section_Q_01,#section_Q_02,#section_Q_03').hide(); $(function() { $('h5.trigger a').click( function(e) { e.preventDefault(); var trigger_id = $(this).parent().attr('id'); //get id Q_## $('.current').removeClass('current').hide(); //add a class for easy access & hide $('#section_' + trigger_id).addClass('current').fadeIn(5000); //show clicked one }); }); }); //Fading pics $(document).ready(function(){ $('.pics').cycle({ fx: 'fade', speed: 2500 }); }); Description boxes - <h5 class="trigger" id="Q_01" ><a href="#">Posture 1 : Standing Deep Breathing :</a></h5> <div class="toggle_container" > <div class="block"> <span class="sc">Pranayama Series</span> <p class="bold">Benefits:</p> </div> </div> <h5 class="trigger" id="Q_02" ><a href="#">Posture 2 : Half Moon Pose With Hands To Feet Pose :</a></h5> <div class="toggle_container"> <div class="block"> <span class="sc">Ardha Chandrasana with Pada-Hastasana</span> <p class="bold">Benefits:</p> </div> </div> <h5 class="trigger" id="Q_03" ><a href="#">Posture 3 : Awkward Pose :</a></h5> <div class="toggle_container"> <div class="block"> <span class="sc">Utkatasana</span> <p class="bold">Benefits:</p> </div> </div> and the images on the right - <div id="section_Q_01" class="01"> <div class="pics"> <img src="../images/multi/poses/pose1/Pranayama._01.jpg"/> <img src="../images/multi/poses/pose1/Pranayama._02.jpg"/> <img src="../images/multi/poses/pose1/Pranayama._03.jpg"/> </div> </div> <div id="section_Q_02" class="02"> <div class="pics"> <img src="../images/multi/poses/pose2/Half_Moon_Pose_04.jpg" /> <img src="../images/multi/poses/pose2/Backward_Bending_05.jpg" /> <img src="../images/multi/poses/pose2/Hands_to_Feet_Pose_06.jpg" /> </div> </div> <div id="section_Q_03" class="03"> <div class="pics"> <img src="../images/multi/poses/pose3/Awkward_01.jpg" /> <img src="../images/multi/poses/pose3/Awkward_02.jpg" /> <img src="../images/multi/poses/pose3/Awkward_03.jpg" /> </div> </div> It would be a bonus if images faded out when another element is clicked... but not a big deal. Thanks for having a look

  • DotNetNuke + XPath = Custom navigation menu DNNMenu HTML render

    I'm developing a skin for DotNetNuke 5 using the Component DNN Done Right menu by Mark Alan which uses XSL-T to convert the XML sitemap into an HTML navigation. The XML sitemap outputs the following structure: <Root > <root > <node id="40" text="Home" url="http://localhost/dnn/Home.aspx" enabled="1" selected="0" breadcrumb="0" first="1" last="0" only="0" depth="0" > <node id="58" text="Child1" url="http://localhost/dnn/Home/Child1.aspx" enabled="1" selected="0" breadcrumb="0" first="1" last="0" only="0" depth="1" > <keywords >Child1</keywords> <description >Child1</description> <node id="59" text="Child1 SubItem1" url="http://localhost/dnn/Home/Child1/Child1SubItem1.aspx" enabled="1" selected="0" breadcrumb="0" first="1" last="0" only="0" depth="2" > <keywords >Child1 SubItem1</keywords> <description >Child1 SubItem1</description> </node> <node id="60" text="Child1 SubItem2" url="http://localhost/dnn/Home/Child1/Child1SubItem2.aspx" enabled="1" selected="0" breadcrumb="0" first="0" last="0" only="0" depth="2" > <keywords >Child1 SubItem2</keywords> <description >Child1 SubItem2</description> </node> <node id="61" text="Child1 SubItem3" url="http://localhost/dnn/Home/Child1/Child1SubItem3.aspx" enabled="1" selected="0" breadcrumb="0" first="0" last="1" only="0" depth="2" > <keywords >Child1 SubItem3</keywords> <description >Child1 SubItem3</description> </node> </node> <node id="65" text="Child2" url="http://localhost/dnn/Home/Child2.aspx" enabled="1" selected="0" breadcrumb="0" first="0" last="1" only="0" depth="1" > <keywords >Child2</keywords> <description >Child2</description> <node id="66" text="Child2 SubItem1" url="http://localhost/dnn/Home/Child2/Child2SubItem1.aspx" enabled="1" selected="0" breadcrumb="0" first="1" last="0" only="0" depth="2" > <keywords >Child2 SubItem1</keywords> <description >Child2 SubItem1</description> </node> <node id="67" text="Child2 SubItem2" url="http://localhost/dnn/Home/Child2/Child2SubItem2.aspx" enabled="1" selected="0" breadcrumb="0" first="0" last="1" only="0" depth="2" > <keywords >Child2 SubItem2</keywords> <description >Child2 SubItem2</description> </node> </node> </node> </root> </Root> My Goal is to render this XML block into this HTML Navigation structure only using UL's LI's, etc.. <ul id="topnav"> <li> <a href="#" class="home">Home</a> <!-- Parent Node - Depth0 --> <div class="sub"> <ul> <li><h2><a href="#">Child1</a></h2></li> <!-- Parent Node 1 - Depth1 --> <li><a href="#">Child1 SubItem1</a></li> <!-- ChildNode - Depth2 --> <li><a href="#">Child1 SubItem2</a></li> <!-- ChildNode - Depth2 --> <li><a href="#">Child1 SubItem3</a></li ><!-- ChildNode - Depth2 --> </ul> <ul> <li><h2><a href="#">Child2</a></h2></li> <!-- Parent Node 2 - Depth1 --> <li><a href="#">Child2 SubItem1</a></li> <!-- ChildNode - Depth2 --> <li><a href="#">Child2 SubItem2</a></li> <!-- ChildNode - Depth2 --> </ul> </div> </li> </ul> Can anyone help with the XSL coding? I'm just starting now with XSL..

  • RemoteViewsService never gets called whenever we update app widget

    - by user3689160
    I am making one task widget application. This is a simple widget application which can be used to add new tasks by clicking on "+New Task". So ideally what I have done is, I've added a widget first, then when we click on "+New Task" a new activity opens up from where we can type in a new task and it should get updated in the ListView inside the home screen widget. Problem: Now whenever I add a new task, the ListView does not get updated. The data gets inside the database a new is created as well. My onUpdate(...) method gets called as well. There is a WidgetService.java which is a RemoteViewService that is being used to call the RemoteViewFactory but WidgetService.java gets called only when we create the widget, never after that. WidgetService.java never gets called again. I have the following setup MyWidgetProvider.java AppWidgetProvider class for updating the widget and filling its remote views. public class MyWidgetProvider extends AppWidgetProvider { public static int randomNumber=132; static RemoteViews remoteViews = null; @Override public void onUpdate(Context context, AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager, int[] appWidgetIds) { updateList(context,appWidgetManager,appWidgetIds); } public static void updateList(Context context, AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager, int[] appWidgetIds){ final int N = appWidgetIds.length; Log.d("MyWidgetProvider", "length="+appWidgetIds.length+""); for (int i = 0; i<N; ++i) { Log.d("MyWidgetProvider", "value"+ i + "="+appWidgetIds[i]); // Calling updateWidgetListView(context, appWidgetIds[i]); to load the listview with data remoteViews = updateWidgetListView(context, appWidgetIds[i]); // Updating the Widget with the new data filled remoteviews appWidgetManager.updateAppWidget(appWidgetIds[i], remoteViews); appWidgetManager.notifyAppWidgetViewDataChanged(appWidgetIds[i], R.id.lv_tasks); } } private static RemoteViews updateWidgetListView(Context context, int appWidgetId) { Intent svcIntent = null; remoteViews = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(),R.layout.widget_demo); //RemoteViews Service needed to provide adapter for ListView svcIntent = new Intent(context, WidgetService.class); //passing app widget id to that RemoteViews Service svcIntent.putExtra(AppWidgetManager.EXTRA_APPWIDGET_ID, appWidgetId); //setting a unique Uri to the intent //binding the data from the WidgetService to the svcIntent svcIntent.setData(Uri.parse(svcIntent.toUri(Intent.URI_INTENT_SCHEME))); //setting adapter to listview of the widget remoteViews.setRemoteAdapter(R.id.lv_tasks, svcIntent); //setting click listner on the "New Task" (TextView) of the widget remoteViews.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.tv_add_task, buildButtonPendingIntent(context)); return remoteViews; } // Just to create PendingIntent, this will be broadcasted everytime textview containing "New Task" is clicked and OnReceive method of MyWidgetIntentReceiver.java will run public static PendingIntent buildButtonPendingIntent(Context context) { Intent intent = new Intent(); intent.putExtra("TASK_DONE_VALUE_VALID", false); intent.setAction("com.ommzi.intent.action.CLEARTASK"); return PendingIntent.getBroadcast(context, 0, intent, PendingIntent.FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT); } // This method is defined here so that we can update the remoteviews from other classes as well, like we'll do it in MyWidgetIntentReceiver.java public static void pushWidgetUpdate(Context context, RemoteViews remoteViews) { ComponentName myWidget = new ComponentName(context, MyWidgetProvider.class); AppWidgetManager manager = AppWidgetManager.getInstance(context); manager.updateAppWidget(myWidget, remoteViews); } } WidgetService.java A RemoteViewsService class for creating a RemoteViewsFactory. public class WidgetService extends RemoteViewsService { @Override public RemoteViewsFactory onGetViewFactory(Intent intent) { int appWidgetId = intent.getIntExtra(AppWidgetManager.EXTRA_APPWIDGET_ID,AppWidgetManager.INVALID_APPWIDGET_ID); return (new ListProvider(this.getApplicationContext(), intent)); } } ListProvider.java A RemoteViewsFactory class for filling the ListView inside the widget. public class ListProvider implements RemoteViewsFactory { private List<TemplateTaskData> tasks; private Context context = null; private int appWidgetId; int increment=0; public ListProvider(Context context, Intent intent) { this.context = context; appWidgetId = intent.getIntExtra(AppWidgetManager.EXTRA_APPWIDGET_ID,AppWidgetManager.INVALID_APPWIDGET_ID); //appWidgetId = Integer.valueOf(intent.getData().getSchemeSpecificPart())- MyWidgetProvider.randomNumber; populateListItem(); } private void populateListItem() { tasks = new ArrayList<TemplateTaskData>(); com.ommzi.database.sqliteDataBase letStartDB = new com.ommzi.database.sqliteDataBase(context); letStartDB.open(); tasks=letStartDB.getData(); letStartDB.close(); } public int getCount() { return tasks.size(); } public long getItemId(int position) { return position; } public RemoteViews getViewAt(int position) { // We are only showing the text view field here as there is limitation on using Checkbox within the widget // We prefer to on an activity for the user to make comprehensive changes as changes inside the widget is always limited. // To view the supported list of views for the widget you can visit http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/appwidgets/index.html final RemoteViews remoteView = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.screen_wcitem); TemplateTaskData taskDTO = tasks.get(position); Log.d("My ListProvider", "1"); remoteView.setTextViewText(R.id.wc_add_task, taskDTO.getTaskName()); if(taskDTO.getTaskDone()){ remoteView.setImageViewResource(R.id.imageView1, R.drawable.checked); }else{ remoteView.setImageViewResource(R.id.imageView1, R.drawable.unchecked); } Intent intent = new Intent(); intent.setAction("com.ommzi.intent.action.GETTASK"); intent.putExtra("TASK_DONE_VALUE_VALID", true); intent.putExtra("ROWID", taskDTO.getRowId()); intent.putExtra("TASK_NAME", taskDTO.getTaskName()); intent.putExtra("TASK_DONE_VALUE", taskDTO.getTaskDone()); remoteView.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.imageView1, PendingIntent.getBroadcast(context, 0, intent, PendingIntent.FLAG_UPDATE_CURRENT)); Log.d("My ListProvider, Inside getView", "Value of Incrementor=" + increment + "\n ROWID=" + taskDTO.getRowId() + "\n TASK_NAME=" + taskDTO.getTaskName() + "\n TASK_DONE_VALUE=" +taskDTO.getTaskDone() + "\n Total Database Size=" + tasks.size()); return remoteView; } public RemoteViews getLoadingView() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return null; } public int getViewTypeCount() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return 1; } public boolean hasStableIds() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return false; } public void onCreate() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } public void onDataSetChanged() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } public void onDestroy() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub } } GetTaskActivity.java This is another activity that is fired from a BroadcastReceiver(MyWidgetIntentReceiver.java). Purpose of this is to get a new task added to the list of task. MyWidgetIntentReceiver.java BroadcastReceiver fired using a pending intent that starts an activity GetTaskActivity.java. Please help me out with this problem. I am seen all the posts here and on other websites no body is having any solution. But I am sure a solution exist to this. Thanks for your help!

  • What is bootstrap listener in the context of Spring framework?

    - by jillionbug2fix
    I am studying Spring framework, in web.xml I added following which is a bootstrap listener. Can anyone give me a proper idea of what is a bootstrap listener? <listener> <listener-class>org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener</listener-class> </listener> You can see the doc here: ContextLoadListener Bootstrap listener to start up and shut down Spring's root WebApplicationContext. Simply delegates to ContextLoader as well as to ContextCleanupListener. This listener should be registered after Log4jConfigListener in web.xml, if the latter is used. As of Spring 3.1, ContextLoaderListener supports injecting the root web application context via the ContextLoaderListener(WebApplicationContext) constructor, allowing for programmatic configuration in Servlet 3.0+ environments. See WebApplicationInitializer for usage examples...

  • Any learning/studying material for C/C++ that use game programming as learning context out there?

    - by mac
    As most of game programming is done - I read on this very site - in C/C++ I was wondering if there is any learning/studying material for C/C++ that would target specifically game programming. I am not looking for material about "developing games" or "software architecture for games", but rather for material that uses "game programming" as the CONTEXT for introducing and illustrating C/C++ features, idioms, programming techniques, etc... With a simile: think to the GOF book on design patterns. There, they used "developing a text-editor" as a context for introducing design patterns, but the book is most definitively not a book about "developing text-editors". Thanks in advance for your time and advice! PS: My background: I am a programmer with a solid experience in OO scripting languages and only some experience in C and Assembler (on AVR microcontrollers), so I am thinking to mid-to-advanced level material, rather than tutorials for beginners, although it might be interesting to take a look to the latter ones if nothing else is available.
