    Our professor gave us the following assignment: A "correct" series is one inwhich the sum of its members equals to the index of its first member. The program is supposed to find the length of the LONGEST "correct" series within a series of n numbers. for example: if the input series would be arr[4]={1, 1, 0, 0} the output (longest "correct" series) would be 3. arr[0]=1. 0!=1 therefore the longest series here is 0. arr[1]=1,and 1=1. but the follwing members also sum up to 1 as shown below: 1=arr[1]+arr[2]+arr[3] = 1+ 0 + 0, therefore the longest series here is 3. the output in this example is 3. I only get this problem when am trying to send JSON. Where exactly is the problem? Am i encoding the JSON the wrong way on AppEngine? I tried using the JSON library but it looks as if this is not supported. Where is the problem exactly? :(

    hi i have problem connecting to my db on a shared hosting, my host provider says they deployed sql 2005 express on their database and i prepared my connection string as follows to take advantage of sql express. \ the data source nae i used originally was ./SQLExpress but my host provider asked that i change it to local host, although with the former it didnt connect, but still with the change as indicated above the error still comes up on access to my default page. the error is as follows; Server Error in '/' Application.   • Problems getting PowerPoint Combobox to list items correctly

    I am creating a PowerPoint in which I want users to be able to select an item from a list in a combo box. Nothing needs to happen after this, it is just to provide a record, on screen, of their choice. My problem is that I seem to either be able to populate the combo box and users can select an item but the list gets longer each time the combobox is clicked on (i.e each time it is clicked on the list gets duplicated). Or alternatively, I can clear the combo box, then populate it but in this scenario, the users choice also seems to get cleared.   • Div appearing outside its parent, bizarre sizing problems...

    I have a list, which is going to be a menu. I want to position it absolutely at the very top of the page. My code looks like this: <div id="sitenavmenu"> <div id="sitenavmenu-content"> <ul id="sitenavmenu-content-menu"> <li>Register</li> <li><%: Html.ActionLink("About", "About", "Home")%></li> <li>Contact Us</li> </ul> </div> </div> My CSS looks like this: #sitenavmenu { position:absolute; margin-left:300px; top:2px; width:500px; } #sitenavmenu-content-menu li { list-style-type:none; display:inline; padding-right:5px; font-size:small; } The problem I have is, if I don't position it absolutely, it looks fine. As soon as I position it absolutely (as it is shown above), the sitenavmenu div changes size, and although it shifts to the top, the sitenavmenu-content div appears below it. There is no other CSS as I have only just started, and I have checked padding etc. and everything is zero. I just can't figure out why it's not working, and I don't want to hack it. Edit: It's something to do with the height of #sitenavmenu. If I leave it, then the sitenav-content ends up horizontally centered in it, although #sitenavmenu is much taller. If I make them both the same size, so they should sit on top of each other, then the #sitenavmenu-content sits below.

    Hi, I'm having a problem with optional arguments in #define statements in C, or more specifically with gcc 4.2: bool func1(bool tmp) { return false; } void func2(bool tmp, bool tmp2) {} #define CALL(func, tmp, ...) func(tmp, ##__VA_ARGS__) int main() { // this compiles CALL(func2, CALL(func1, false), false); // this fails with: Implicit declaration of function 'CALL' CALL(func2, false, CALL(func1, false)); } That's obviously a contrived example, but does show the problem. Does anyone know how I can get the optional arguments to "resolve" correctly? Additional information: If I remove the ## before _VA_ARGS_, and do something like this: bool func2(bool tmp, bool tmp2) { return false; } #define CALL(func, tmp, ...) func(tmp, __VA_ARGS__) int main() { CALL(func2, false, CALL(func2, false, false)); } That compiles, but it no longer works with zero arguments since it would resolve to func(tmp, )

  • Visual Studio 2008 having problems with namespaces when used as type in Generic coolection

    I just upgraded last week from Visual Studio 2005 to 2008. I am having an issue with compiler resolving namespaces when I use a class as a type in a Generic collection. Intellisense recognizes the class and the compiler generates no errors when I use the class except when it is a type in a Generic collection declaration either as return type for a Property or as a parameter to a method. This is happening in my only project that is targeting the 3.5 framework, but changing the project containing the class to use the 3.5 framework doesn't fix the problem. Examples Compile fine MyClass myClass = new MyClass(); SortedList <DateTime,MyClass> listOfClasses = new SortedList<DateTime,MyClass> Compile error - Namespace could not be found public SortedList<DateTime,MyClass> ClassList { get; set; } private void DoSomethingToLists(SortedList<DateTime,MyClass> classList) Intellisense has no problem resolving the namespace, only the compiler. Is this a known bug or am I missing something obvious? Will SP1 fix it? I was able to create a new library containing just this class targeting 3.5 and am now able to successfully use this in both 3.5 and 2.0 projects. My guess is that even though I tried to change the target of my original library, since it was still referencing 2.0 projects there was some conflict.

    Hi I have been trying to localize my iPhone app in two languages - english and german I have created two folders en.lproj and de.lproj each containing Localizable.strings file for respective language. I have included these files in my resources folder, changed the encoding of these files to UTF-16. I have tried cleaning the project and building it again, deleting folder at path: Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/User But the problem is still there. Anybody having an idea please help.

    I'm a beginner in java so this question might seem a little stupid, my jdk and jre are installed in C:\program files, I write my program and save it in in my folder G:\start, now my program compiles without any error(the .class file is also generated), but when i run my program it says "unable to locate G:\lib\amd64\jvm.cfg", so i copy the 'lib' folder from my jdk folder and paste it in G:, again program compiles without any error, but when i run it,it gives my a new error saying "unable to locate G:\bin\server\jvm.dll",so i copy the 'bin' folder to g:, but now when i run, it gives me the same error again "unable to locate G:\bin\server\jvm.dll",where am I going wrong?

    I've created a class using XCode3.2.1 and I want to make it inherit from NSViewController. #import < Cocoa/Cocoa.h @interface myCustomView : NSViewController {} @end I get the error that it can't find the class header file, but I've linked in the Cocoa libraries. Undefined symbols: "_OBJC_CLASS_$_NSViewController", referenced from: _OBJC_CLASS_$_myCustomView in myCustomView.o I have other classes in my project that are inherit Cocoa classes without a problem. I don't have any errors if I make it inherit from classes that are part of Framework (eg NSObject, NSArray). Any suggestions?

It's not one I've written myself but the spec for the delimited text file is set up properly and the file imports properly using the wizard. When I try to use the import functions of the app itself, the ImportError table tells "Field Truncation" for one of the fields. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Problems with system() calls in Linux

    I'm working on a init for an initramfs in C++ for Linux. This script is used to unlock the DM-Crypt w/ LUKS encrypted drive, and set the LVM drives to be available. Since I don't want to have to reimplement the functionality of cryptsetup and gpg I am using system calls to call the executables. Using a system call to call gpg works fine if I have the system fully brought up already (I already have a bash script based initramfs that works fine in bringing it up, and I use grub to edit the command line to bring it up using the old initramfs). However, in the initramfs it never even acts like it gets called. Even commands like system("echo BLAH"); fail. So, does anyone have any input?

    I'm writing some backend script for a twitter app and heres how it's going On the app you click a button that sends you to login.php on my server which logs into my database connects to twitter with my consumer key and secret: $to = new TwitterOAuth($consumer_key, $consumer_secret); $tok = $to->getRequestToken(); $request_link = $to->getAuthorizeURL($tok); and then writes the token and secret to the database, sets a session equal to the id in the database of the token and secret and then redirects to the "$request_link" You then go through the process of logging in and such on twitter and it redirects you to callback.php on my server Callback.php consists of logging into the database again, getting the new token and secret, and then writing the new token and secret to the database and then prompts you to go back to the app Then on the app, all I'm trying to do is access the basic credentials$to->get('account/verify_credentials') and it keeps coming back "could not authenticate you" What am I doing wrong??   • Problems with Asynchronous UDP Sockets

    Hi, I'm struggling a bit with socket programming (something I'm not at all familiar with) and I can't find anything which helps from google or MSDN (awful). Apologies for the length of this. Basically I have an existing service which recieves and responds to requests over UDP. I can't change this at all. I also have a client within my webapp which dispatches and listens for responses to that service. The existing client I've been given is a singleton which creates a socket and an array of response slots, and then creates a background thread with an infinite looping method that makes "sock.Receive()" calls and pushes the data received into the slot array. All kinds of things about this seem wrong to me and the infinite thread breaks my unit testing so I'm trying to replace this service with one which makes it's it's send/receives asynchronously instead. Point 1: Is this the right approach? I want a non-blocking, scalable, thread-safe service.     I've created a new GridLayout class that I want to use in an XML File. The class is in another project. I've created the attrs.xml file in the other project with my properties but when the constructor gets called with the AttributeSet, none of the values are set. In my xml for my screen layout, I refer to the layout with the following: xmlns:gridLayout="@com.mastertechsoftware.AndroidUtil:http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/com.mastertechsoftware.AndroidUtil" Not sure if that is right. I have the attrs.xml file being compiled to R.java in com/mastertechsoftware/AndroidUtil. All the right styleable values are there.   • Ajax page.replace_html problems with partials in Rails

    Hello, I am having a problem with a pretty simple AJAX call in rails. I have a blog-style application and each post has a "like" feature. I want to be able to increment the "like" on each post in the index using AJAX onclick. I got it to work; however, the DOM is a bit tricky here, because no matter what partial its looking at, it will only update the TOP partial. so if I click "like" on post #2, it will update and replace the "likes" on post #1 instead. Code for _post partial: <some code here...> <div id="postcontent"> Posted <%= post.created_at.strftime("%A, %b %d")%> <br /> </div> <div id="postlikes"> <%= link_to_remote 'Like', :url => {:controller => 'posts', :action => 'like_post', :id => post.id}%> <%= post.like %> </div> code for _postlikes partial: <div id="postlikes"> <%= link_to_remote 'Like', :url => {:controller => 'posts', :action => 'like_post', :id => @post.id}%> <%= @post.like %> </div> </div> like_post.rjs code: page.replace_html "postlikes", :partial => "postlikes", :object => @post page.visual_effect :highlight, "postlikes", :duration => 3 So this all works properly for the first "postcontent" div. But this is an index of posts, so if I wanted to updated the second "postcontent" div on the page, it will still replace the html of the first.     I have a problem with my site. When I resize the window everything stays still and doesn't move, the window just crosses over everything.
