  • Jquery UI Sortable Item Contents

    So I have this shopping list coded in php and js: http://www.whatcouldicook.com/recipes/planner So people can add, delete or sort the list and thats fine, I dont want multiple lists and instead just have a list item containing a heading tag to represent a new list. All this works and then using serialize I can save the ordering/modifying of the list. I don't know how to get the list contents however as these will be dynamic from the user. All the code is on that url so hopefully you can examine the code there. Thanks everyone

  • General approach for posting business logic status messages to UI?

    Hello all. I have been struggling with this question for awhile now, and I haven't reached a conclusion. I'm not typically a UI programmer, so forgive the noobishness. I'm writing a typical application with a UI layer (WPF) and a business layer. I want to post status messages to the UI from the business layer (perhaps deep within the business layer), but I don't want the business layer to have any knowledge of the UI. Is there a generally accepted pattern for this? I was thinking to have a message queue of some sort to which the business layer posts status messages, and have the view model of the UI subscribe to that queue and intercept messages from the queue and route them to the UI. Is that a good approach? Is there somewhere else I should start? Thank you.

  • Turn off Jquery UI Accordion animation only during page load

    I'd like to turn off the accordian animation during page load, and then turn it back on after the page is loaded. Basically I've got multiple forms inside the accordion sections and when submitted the page gets reloaded and the relevant section is reloaded. But during the reload the animation is triggered which looks a little ugly. But I like it when the page is not being loaded. How do I achieve this effect?

  • jQuery UI: moving items from one list to another

    While this should be relatively straightforward, I can't figure out how to move (rather than copy) LI elements between ULs. All I want is to drag any item from list foo to list bar (or vice versa) without duplicating the element. While connectToSortable does almost exactly what I want (though I'd prefer to avoid sortable), it clones the element - and manually removing the original element by reacting to the stop event turns out to be not so easy (e.g. ensuring that a valid drop actually happened). A simple "hello world" example would help me greatly.

    Hello dear Stackoverflow gurus, I am trying to integrate JQuery tabs with my WordPress blog, to replace old HTML Navigation menu. I am half way there but not quiet... Take a look for yourself: http://www.isahat.com The template breaks right away since the first button of the Tab menu is linked to index.php like so: Home Info The second tab menu shows my Info page just fine, but on top of everything else. My home page and everything else gets shifted down to make room for Info page. And why after clicking on any article or even the tab link, my tab menu disappears and all my navigation links turn into a bullet list? Thank you, Sahat.

    I have always developed my projects using MAMP locally and once done simply uploaded everything to a live server. However, I'm wanting to integrate some FB functionality in my current project and I believe I'm correct in saying that it is not possible to fully test FB integration locally. My problem is I don't want to release the project I'm working on until it's finished (or at least nearly finished!) by placing it on a live server. I don't even want people to see a login screen or anything. Is there a way I can upload everything to my domain for testing purposes but prevent anyone apart from me from accessing the site?

  • IE8 ignores jQuery UI 'dialog' minHeight and height settings

    I'm using jQuery 1.4.4 with jQueryUI 1.8.7 to display a modal dialog box. I'm having a problem where IE8 renders a scrollbar and appears to ignore the minHeight and height options in all the many different combinations I've tried them in.   • jQuery offset combined with jQuery UI doesn't update on drag

    I need to get the offset of the element that is being dragged and I use: $(function(){ $(".draggable").draggable({ stop: function(){ var offset = $("#boxone").offset(); alert(offset.left); } }); }); the element is positioned absolute and has a CSS of: left:100px; that is the value I get on the alert when I drag the element (even multiple times). What I want is to get it to alert the current offset (if I drag in 200px to the right it should say 300)

    I am trying to get all stream data from a group (I have wall entries, discussions, events and photos). For now, Access on this group is Open. $result = $_fb-api_client-fql_query("SELECT actor_id, message FROM stream WHERE source_id=$gid LIMIT 50"); Only some of the records come back (5 out of 10) (only wall entries and a photo).     Can someone please help me with this one: When using UISortables where - and how do I put "serialize" into the JQuery function? I have 4 columns class '.columm' and each wit a unique id - col1,col2,col3 & col4. I can get the drag & drop bit to work I now need to put the "final" positions into a serialized array. Here is my code: $(".column").sortable({ revert: true, scroll: true, appendTo: 'body', connectWith: '.column', delay:200, stop: function() { $(".column").each(function(){ var test = $(this).attr('id'); alert(test); // //var myArray = $(this).sortable("serialize"); }) }, revertDuration:50000, scope:'scope', opacity: 0.80, }); You will see alert test. I have done this to see if I can get the col id's into an alert and I can, but where do i put .sortable( "serialize" , [options] ) and how do I do that for the 4 columns to create 1 single serialized array? having done that how/where do you set the order when you next load the page? (OK yes, I do intent to "store" the serialized array) Help please - thanks

    Hello, If I have email address of a user, is there any way to find the profile of the user? I know it can be done using the uid and name of the user (GetInfo() or fql.query). The specific problem I am trying to address is when I search for a user using the name field, I end up getting multiple results (people with the same name). I have the email address of the user I want to search, so if I can search using email address, I will be able to reach to the specific user. Alternately, if there's a way to find uid for a given email address, I can get the user I am looking for. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

  • Facebook API, export group wall entries

    After trying to find a reference to an API/tutorial to such thing, I have come here. I would like to scan a specific group wall, pulling all posts from it, with PHP or C#. In the end, I would like to have a nested-array containing each posts, with the next details: An array of the related comments Likes Views Obviously, I don't ask for any code, only a reference to the related API I will need to use. EDIT: If this is not possible, should I consider cURL as an option?

One named status like this... user_id | status --------+----------- 1 | random status from user 1 2 | random status from user 2 3 | random message from user 3 4 | staus from user 4 1 | second status for user1 etc... and another named users_following like this... user_id | is_following --------+----------- 1 | 2 1 | 3 2 | 1 3 | 2 meaning that user 1 is following both users 2 and 3 etc... So, let's say I chose user 1. What is the best query (performance wise) to show the status updates of users that user 1 is following, in this case users 2 and 3 currently I have something like SELECT * from status WHERE user_id IN(SELECT is_following FROM users_following WHERE user_id='1') LIMIT 0,5 but I don't think this is good for performance if a user was following thousands+ of users
