  • Attempt to connect to wireless internet at home and i am asked for User Credentals, nothing I enter works

    I just got a new modem and am trying to connect my windows 7 desktop to the new wireless connection. I had no issues on the three previous connections I have used, but for some reason when I click on the icon for Wireless Network Connections, click on my network, it asks for User Credentials. Nothing I type in works. I have tried saving credentials in credentials manager, using my login info, using the network's login info, recreating the network manually, plugging and unplugging my modem, literally every solution on every forum for similar issues. I have no idea what to do now. any ideas?

  • How can I further improve the quality of my home videos?

    So now that I have found out how to deinterlace my videos, I am wondering if there is other software out there that can further help improve the quality of my videos. Some other problems I have noticed is when you move the camera side to side very quickly you can notice tearing in the the picture. That is the top half of the frame doesn't line up with the bottom half, it appears that the bottom half is shifted to the right or left depending on which way the camera is moving. Shaky camera hand is also a problem in some videos. I don't expect any software to be able to correct these problems 100%, especially the shaky hand. I know that using a tripod or something of the sorts is the best way to prevent the shakes, but for preexsiting videos what are the best solutions I can use?

  • Windows Home Server restore causes computer to be removed from the domain?

    I restored my Dell M4400 that is a company laptop, and now I get an error when I try to log on and am connected to our corporate network, which says that the domain controller could not be found or that the computer is not part of the domain. Everyone else can log on, so it seems my computer is no longer part of the domain, even though it thinks it is per the settings. One thing of note: my computer crashed on 1/14/10, but I restored from a backup that was made on 12/20/09. So I am not sure if that made a difference? Also, I tried running "gpupdate" to update my group policy, but that did not seem to help. Any ideas? Seems like a bit of a flaw in the backup system for computers that are part of a domain. I guess I wanted to hear from someone with more knowledge about how a computer is recognized as part of a domain to know if this should be expected when doing a restore or if I should file a trouble ticket.

  • How do I set up my home server to go directly to a port other than 80

    I'm using dyndns, a lynksis wt54g router, and tomcat 7 with spring to set up a web server. This is my first time to attempt this. I'm sure this is a very common question, but I don't know enough to find the answer after quite a bit searching. Dyndns is successfully forwarding to my ip. The main problem is, the router admin login is coming up when my url is used. I'm hosting my site on port 8080. I have port forwarding set up for port 8080 but my request times out when I attempt to use my url like this www.myurl1234.com:8080. I don't want users to have to type the port anyway. I also tried changing the management port to 82 and hosting on port 80, but I still get the router admin login when I use my url. Where am I going wrong? Can I set it up so that www.myurl1234.com goes straight to port 8080?

  • Why can't I connect to my home SSH (SFTP) server? What am I doing wrong?

    I am new to this topic of creating a SFTP server on one's computer. I would like to be able to access the folder on my Windows XP computer via SFTP from another computer or a phone. The following is what I have done so far: I have installed SSH Windows and everything is setup correctly because I can access it (the folder on my pc) via WinSCP. I however cannot access it from my phone. It doesn't connect. The phone can be on the same wireless network as the Windows XP computer, but I would prefer to be able to access this when not in the same network. Now, from what I have read and understood, the following is the information needed to connect: 1) Host Name: This would be my computer's ip address which I access by typing ipconfig in a cmd prompt (I access this easily on my computer because I simply put in localhost or 127.0.0.1) 2) Port Number: That would be port 22 (I have also added this to my router in the port forwarding section). 3) Username: This would be my Windows XP username. This however is my full name, including my middle initial followed by a period. I am wondering if this is maybe causing problems in accessing it from my phone, since the name has spaces and punctuation (the period). 4) Password: The password of my Windows XP computer Extra Info: When I say phone, I mean an Android phone and I am using an ftp / sftp app to access my pc via the phone's cellular network (I also tried the wireless, but that didn't work as well). I have tried more than one program. On one program it tells me Connection timed out and on another it tells me "timeout:socket is not established" Also, I know that I can use the site noip, but I prefer to connect this way first. Also, because I am new to this, I would like to look into what exactly noip is doing and if they would be seeing my files as they are transferred from phone to pc.     What's a good strategy for building licensing checking into a Windows desktop app using a Python web application? This is a very open ended question because I don't have the slightest clue how to start to build this feature. What I do have is a number of general concerns: I have developed a commercial Windows desktop application and I want to make money from it but I don't want to build the licensing into the app since it's inevitable that someone will create a keygen or a crack, circulate it online and then it's 'game over' for me. So my idea was to create a web application where people could purchase a license key that is generated by the web app and every time the desktop application is started up, it will 'phone home' to the web app to check whether the license is valid and whether it seems to be in use at multiple locations. I'm just not sure how to do this. Would appreciate any general technical strategies and/or pointers to libraries/modules that might be of use.

  • Facebook Iframe App in Safari links to home page. Works OK in other Browsers.

    I have a facebook iframe that has several php files in it. In all tested browsers (IE,FFOX,Chrome) the links on the header work fine and go to the php files inside the iframe. When I tried this on Safari the links are reloading the whole app inside the iframe. Is like a recursive call because Its not like im having the home page reloaded inside the iframe but the whole facebook page WITH the iframe.. reloaded inside my iframe. The links are called using javascript with document.location.href="myPage.php"; Tryed placing target "_self" inside the link but this turned out weird : the iframe page was placed on top of everything, as if I had specified "_parent" on the target. Any help?

  • Is there a way to animate on a Home Widget?

    Hi All, I want to use an animation on a Home page Widget, i.e. an AppWidgetProvider. I was hoping to use the "Frame Animation" technique: http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/graphics/2d-graphics.html#frame-animation which I've used successfully in an activity. But I can't translate that code to an AppWidgetProvider. Basically, in an AppWidgetProvider, I create and work with a RemoteViews object, which AFAIK doesn't provide me with a method to get a reference to an ImageView in the layout for me to call start() on the animation. There is also not a handler or a callback for when the widget displays so I can make the start() call. Is there another way this can be done? I suppose that I can probably do the animation on my own with very fast onUpdate() calls on the widget, but that seems awfully expensive.

    Hi I've transfered my wordpress site to a new ftp server, but my home link doesn't work properly. When I click on it, it goes to http://123.456.78.8/mydomain.com and I get a page not found message. I've discovered it needs a / at the end to work. Does anyone know a way to fix this before I put it on my live site? Could it be a database or config file issue? Thanks for all your help Regards Judi P.S Could it be the permalink structure? Will it work when change my domain to http://mydomain.com?

    Hi all, I'm writing an Android application and I would like to place a dialog or view over the home screen so that a user can enter text without jumping into my full application. I can't seem to get this to work. If I present a dialog (even in a transparent activity), my application launches. If you don't know what I'm talking about, take a look at the Facebook widget. I want to replicate a similar behavior to the clicking on the "What's on your mind?" box. Thanks for any help in advance! -Brian

We can traverse through listbox items using Up and Down arrows where as I wan to traverse the list using Left and Right arrow keys. While I am trying to add the key down event for Listbox, It shows almost all key presses except for Arrow Keys, Home, End and Similar keys.
