• A simple free MIDI implementation in Java besides javax.sound.midi: Are there any?

  The problem is: Android doesn't implement javax.sound.midi. I need a simple free library that allows me to create simple 1-track midi files. I searched the net for it, but can't really find anything, since everything uses javax.sound.midi . The license needs to be one where I don't need to opensource my linked app. Any ideas? I also looked into the fileformat itself. However, I am totally not familiar with working with bytes, hexidecimal stuff etc. So, other option is: are there any simple midi implementations that I can use as reference?

• subreport with image not display data in crystal report asp .net vs 2005

  I currently have a crystal report that generating in Visual Studio 2005 which has a sub-report. I've linked the sub-report to dataset and dataset has one table call image and it contain column system.byte[]. main report link to another dataset . main report has parameters and sub report has only image field. but when run main report display data but sub report don't display. no error message. sub report dataset not pass data to report. anyone have any idea what might be causing the sub-reports to not work??

• How to include LinkedIn user profile page feeds in web application?

  I am building a web application in which I would like to include the user's LinkedIn profile page feeds. Is this possible? What I envision is the user comes to the web application and adds the complete URL for their Linked user profile in a text box and I would get the feeds for that user page. Would it be possible to do this with jquery? Or should I be looking at some other tool? I trying to make it more clear, I want to create a widget kinda of app for my web app where user enters a complete url of the linkedin user profile page and I have to retrieve the feeds of that particular user and display it. It should be dynamic in nature, if another user enters a another url into the text box I should be able to get the feeds from that particular user profile page.

• Best way to implement keywords for image upload gallery

  I'm starting to spec out an image gallery type system similar to Facebook's. Members of the site will be able to create image galleries and upload images for others to view. Images will have keywords the the uploader can specify. Here's the question, what's the best way to model this? With image and keyword tables linked vi a HABTM relation? Or a single image table with the keywords saved as comma delimited values in a text field in the image record? Then search them using a LIKE or FULL TEXT index function? I want to be able to pull up all images containing a given keyword as well as generate a keyword cloud. I'm leaning toward the HABTM setup but I wanted to see what everyone else though. Thanks!!

• Stop Images from loading in UIWebView

  I have a website that I wish to load in a UIWebView, but it is full of images and takes ages to load. The images are useless, and only serve to reduce the usability on the iPhone. I dont own the website so I cannot change the site's actual code. The webpage is heavily linked in to the web with ASP.NET and AJAX (needs external files), so i dont think it is possible to have it load an HTML string. I want to stop the images from loading altogether. So how do i block them? Change the HTML code as its loading somehow, or block images from being loaded?

• LNK2001: What have I forgotton to set?

  Following on from my previous question regarding debugging of native code, I decided to create a simple test from a console app as I wasn't getting anywhere with debugging the service directly. So I created a vc6 console app, added the dll project to the workspace and ran it. Instead of executing as expected it spat out the following linker errors: main.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "int __stdcall hmDocumentLAdd(char *,char *,long,char *,char *,long,long,long,long *)" (?hmDocumentLAdd@@YGHPAD0J00JJJPAJ@Z) main.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "int __stdcall hmGetDocBasePath(char *,long)" (?hmGetDocBasePath@@YGHPADJ@Z) Debug/HazManTest.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 2 unresolved externals This seems to be a simple case of forgetting something in the linker options: However everything seems to be normal, and the lib file, dll and source is available. If I change the lib file to load to nonsense it kicks up the fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "asdf.lib", so that isn't a problem. I have previously linked to dll and they have just worked, so what I have forgotton to do?

• JQuery "Any Row" Picker

  Hi All, I'm looking for a generic "Row Picker" for JQuery. We've all seen the cool "Picker" tools like date pickers, color pickers, time pickers, etc, where you click in a text box and a little calendar or color palate or clock or something comes up. You select something (like a date) and the text box is then populated with a value. I really need an all-purpose "row picker" where you can populate something (a table, divs, etc) with some rows of data (say a list of timezones). This would be linked to a text field and would pop up when the user clicks in the field. They would click a row (say a timezone), and the timezone id would be passed back to the field. Anyone know of anything that does this? Thanks!

  I have a query of the form SELECT uid1,uid2 FROM friend WHERE uid1 IN (SELECT uid2 FROM friend WHERE uid1='.$user_id.') and uid2 IN (SELECT uid2 FROM friend WHERE uid1='.$user_id.') The problem now is that the nested query SELECT uid2 FROM friend WHERE uid1='.$user_id.' returns a very large number of ids(approx. 5000). The table structure of the friend table is uid1(int), uid2(int). This table is used to determine whether two users are linked together as friends. Any workaround? Can I write the query in a different way? Or is there some other way to solve this issue. I'm sure I am not the first person to face such a problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Getting Wikipedia infoboxes in a format that Ruby can understand

  I am trying to get the data from Wikipedia's infoboxes into a hash or something so that I can use it in my Ruby on Rails program. Specifically I'm interested in the Infobox company and Infobox person. The example I have been using is "Ford Motor Company". I want to get the company info for that and the person info for the people linked to in Ford's company box. I've tried figuring out how to do this from the Wikipedia API or DBPedia but I haven't had much luck. I know wikipedia can return some things as json which I could parse with ruby but I haven't been able to figure out how to get the infobox. In the case of DBPedia I am kind of lost on how to even query it to get the info for Ford Motor Company.

• Sencha Touch 2: List does not display in Panel

  I am working on an MVC app in Sencha Touch 2 and am having trouble getting a list to display in a nested panel. The structure of the app has a main view which is a tab panel. One of the items in the tab panel is a defined panel, xtype: 'homepanel'. An item in this panel is the list, xtype: 'newslist' that is linked to the appropriate store and model files. The list does not display unless I change its parent 'homepanel' to a type, Ext.navigation.View. What am I missing in the definition of 'homepanel' as a Panel that prevents the display of the list? • AutoCompleteExtender positioning menu incorrectly when scrolled

  We have an AutoCompleteExtender linked to a TextBox. Both controls are placed inside an UpdatePanel, and the UpdatePanel is displayed as a pop-up dialog using a Javascript library (Ext.BasicDialog). The pop-up is a div on the page, not a separate window. The problem is that when the user scrolls inside the pop-up, the AutoCompleteExtender shows its menu in the wrong place. It looks like it is taking the visible distance from the top of the popup and positioning the menu from the top of the inner html of the popup (which is not visible) We are using Version 1.0.20229.20821 of the AjaxControlToolkit, and we are targetting ASP.NET Framework vewrsion 2.0. • Cross-database transactions from one SP

  I need to update multiple databases with a few simple SQL statement. The databases are configurared in SQL using 'Linked Servers', and the SQL versions are mixed (SQL 2008, SQL 2005, and SQL 2000). I intend to write a stored procedure in one of the databases, but I would like to do so using a transaction to make sure that each database gets updated consistently. Which of the following is the most accurate: Will a single BEGIN/COMMIT TRANSACTION work to guarantee that all statements across all databases are successful? Will I need multiple BEGIN TRANSACTIONS for each individual set of commands on a database? Are transactions even supported when updating remote databases? I would need to execute a remote SP with embedded transaction support. Note that I don't care about any kind of cross-database referential integrity; I'm just trying to update multiple databases at the same time from a single stored procedure if possible. Any other suggestions are welcome as well. Thanks!

  Hi I've been trying to create a GUI using netbeans, that includes a dialog similar to Netbean's own "property dialog" that appears when designing. ie. a dialog that contains a table that can be expanded by tree nodes. Something like the dialog on this page, http://platform.netbeans.org/tutorials/nbm-property-editors.html As far as I can understand, the page I linked to describes a custom editor I can set up for use within netbeans while designing - I'm just looking for a way to doing something similar for my actual application I'm writing. Is there an easy way to do this?   Hi, I was trying to understand the difference between early and late binding, and in the process realized that the concept of binding is nebulous to me. I think I understand that it relates to the way data-as-a-word-of-memory is linked to type-as-a-set-of-language-features but I am not sure those are the right concepts. Also, how does understanding this deeply help people become better programmers? Please note: This question is not "what is late v. early binding" or "what are the trade-offs between the 2".   Hi Ok dealing with Partial Loops I want to do several things Perhaps pass in extra variables - seen it done like this echo $this-partialLoop('Loop.phtml', array('data' = $data, 'var1' = foo)); But this does not seem to work - I can not extra the data using $this-var $this-data-var or $data-var not sure how to access the data in the loop Sutotals for columns - need a way of resetting variables or passing in a default value - linked to the above I suppose ie $subtotal += rowTotal; In the view that calls the partial I would like to get access to the subtotal values generated so I can display these in another table below. Any help appreciated the docs on partialLoop seems incomplete. Ian

  Hello, I have an array set inside a velocity template that contains some paths. The idea is to put a few "default" .js/.css files that 90% of the pages will use in this array. However, the other pages will still have to be able to add/delete values from this array, in case there are no linked files at all, or I need to add some. • Autoconf macros for Apache and conf.d install process?

  I have a package that is using the autotools to build and install. Part of the package is a website that can be run on the local machine. So in the package there is a .conf file that is meant to be either copied or linked to the /etc/apache2/conf.d directory. What's the standard way that packages would do this? If possible, I'd like for the user not to have an extra step to make the website work. I'd like to have them install the package and then be able to browse to http://localhost/newpackage to get up and running. Also, is there a way that autoconf knows about the apache install or a standard way through then environment some how? If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Steve

• Why this doesn't work: [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Access denied for user

  So I know that there is a very similar question to this all over the web as well as stack overflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2539961/error-access-denied-for-user-mysql-server but my question I think is different. So I have set up a linked server and it works...I have the correct permissions set up for my IP's that I am using. However the problem arises when our user "webuser@correctIP" tries to access it. Therefore, any user using window authentication is allowed to access it and works great...but any that are not using windows authentication are blocked. However, I have tried all the common solutions such as setting up a strict password, changing security settings in Microsoft SQL Server etc. Nothing is working. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. FYI: I am using this from Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - mysql (through myphpadmin)

• Flex Builder 3 Unclosable Editor Windows

  See: http://i.imgur.com/pQNQh.png Somehow I made this happen and I don't know how to undo it. The image linked above shows my Flex Builder session. The largest section of the window is the editor. Initially, there was a blank window on the screen so I tried closing it, but I couldn't. Then I tried dragging it and realized I could drag it into a corner of itself, hence all the nested windows. I have no idea how to close these windows or simply reset the view. I went to the preferences under General Perspectives, but the "reset" button was disabled for every available perspective. Help?

• java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError, mach-o but wrong architecture on Mac10.6.2

  I was trying to run a project in my local machine. I tried to load this jnilib file which I got from a running instance of this project on my Mac 10.6.2, System.load(lib.getAbsolutePath()); then I got this exception thrown: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError, mach-o but wrong architecture I have check the jnilib with file command: libScreenMatchProxy.jnilib: Mach-O dynamically linked shared library i386 I guess this is because the jnilib file is compiled in 32bit but the Java comes with Mac10.6 is 64bit. So I go to Java Preference and set Java to use 32bit first. But it didn't work. As mentioned above, this jnilib file is copied from a running instance of the project on my Mac, so it should work. I don't understand why it working in the installed application but not in my Eclipse.

  I have a form (Quote) with an auto-number ID, on the form at the moment are two subforms that show different items (sub 1 shows partition modules sub 2 shows partition abutments) both forms use the same parts tables to build them. Both forms are linked to the quote form using the ID. All works well until the forms is refreshed or re-loaded, subform 1 shows the module names and quantities and blank spaces for the abutment names but shows the quantiews for the abutments, the reverse of this is shown in the abutments subform 2. When the lists for the variuos types and the detailed parts lists are printed they are correct. This seems to be only a visual problem. All based on Access 2003. • How to Use 3 Monitors

  Right now my setup has a nice big 24" flatscreen in the center, and a 19" flatscreen to the left. And a big gaping hole on the right. I have a 3rd monitor to put there, but I'm not sure how to get the computer to recognize it. Do I need a graphics card with 3 ports? Or can I span the monitors over non SLI-Linked graphics cards? Is it possible to plug my 3rd monitor into the on-board VGA port and have it work?

  First off, I've seen this question and understand why the following code doesn't work. That is not my question. I have a constant, which is declared like; //Constants.h extern NSString * const MyConstant; //Constants.m NSString * const MyConstant = @"MyConstant"; However, in certain contexts, it's more useful to have this constant have a much more descriptive name, like MyReallySpecificConstant. I was hoping to do: //SpecificConstants.h extern NSString * const MyReallySpecificConstant; //SpecificConstants.m #import "Constants.h" NSString * const MyReallySpecificConstant = MyConstant; Obviously I cannot do this (which is explained in the linked question above). My question is: How else (besides something like #define MyReallySpecificConstant MyConstant) can I provide a single constant under multiple names?
