• css file not getting updated

  the font of the content of my facebook app keeps getting italicized even when i've removed the italics from the css file. if i make minor changes in the css file and upload it to the server, the firebug shows the unedited previous css file and hence, the app keeps showing unformatted content. what exactly is going wrong here? i made a new css file and copied the contents of the previous css exactly as it was, and i linked it in all the files which require css. but when i upload these files to the server, facebook canvas doesn't show any css at all. i replaced the css filename with the previous one, and it works. why is this?

• Attributed strings in UITableViewCells without WebView?

  Hello, does anyone know if there's a way in with 3.0+ to display attributed strings within a UITableViewCell without using a UIWebView for that? I need to display a string with linked, tappable substrings as the typical detailTextLabel. I wouldn't mind exchanging this UILabel against another type of view, but I think a UIWebView could be just too slow when rendering a table with hundrets of cells. Or does someone have opposite experiences here? So my question is: what's the best way to achieve mixed strings in a very large table without a great performance hit? I searched for this almost a whole day now, but I can only find old posts mentioning that there's no attributed string on the iPhone (outdated, as this was pre-3.0) and/or saying that they use a UIWebView for that. But really, I don't think this would perform very well on large tables, would it? Many, many thanks in advance Arne

• Why does addSubview load the view asynchronously

  I have a UIView that I want to load when the user clicks a button. There happens to be some data processing that happens as well after I call addSubview that involves parsing an XML file retrieved from the web. The problem is the view doesn't show up until after the data processing even if addSuview is called first. I think I'm missing something here, can anyone help? Code: I have a "Loading..." view I'm adding as a custom modal (meaning I'm not using the modalViewController). • Inherit static properties in subclass without redeclaration?

  Hi, I'm having the same problem as this guy with the application I'm writing right now. The problem is that static properties are not being inherited in subclasses, and so if I use the static:: keyword in my main class, it sets the variable in my main class as well. It works if I redeclare the static variables in my subclass, but I expect to have a large number of static properties and subclasses and wish to avoid code duplication. The top-rated response on the page I linked has a link to a few "workarounds", but it seems to have 404'd. Can anyone lend me some help or perhaps point me in the direction of said workarounds?

  I've a domain called Modulo with some properties and a Controller with a method that create a object from model and save it, when execute save the shell show this error: La propiedad [{0}] de la clase [{1}] no puede ser nulo But if i set the constraint nullable to true, the error show again. I think that i should not set this cosntraint. The model is linked to a mysql table with all properties except id allow null. I think I am not doing something wrong here. Any advice??   I started an app that was initially a testing platform--user management, and managers that can view their employees tests. Recently, functionality has been extended (not built yet) to allow users to complete a test in place of an employee--basically adding a record, but no user. I have three tables in use for this: users(contains user info for login/security), profiles (all personal info: address, height, etc.), and survey (contains survey answers for user). How do I extend my application to encompass this functionality with minimal change to the structure? I assume that the best way to do this would be to insert records to the tables profiles and survey, and have no username/password/email? There MUST be a user_id associated b/c the tables are linked through the user_ids...

  I am trying to make some code thread safe for use with pthreads. This code is written in C++, but is linked to using SWIG. g++ compiles this correctly, but when swig tries to create a wrapper, I get: fast_alloc.hh:109: Error: Syntax error in input(3) The original, unsafe code that compiles correctly is: static void *freeLists[Num_Buckets]; and the error occurs when I change it to: static __thread void *freeLists[Num_Buckets]; I have made other parts thread safe adding "__thread", for example, this works: static __thread unsigned newCount[Num_Buckets];

• Uri for bitmap in subfolder (c# wpf)

  I have a wpf app where I'm using an image. To reference the image I use: Uri uri = new Uri("pack://application:,,,/assemblyName;Component/myIcon.png"); BitmapImage(uri) If I add the png directly under the csproj file (with its properties BuildAction=Resource) then it works fine. But I want to move it to a subfolder under the csproj. Another SO question asked about bitmaps\uri's (857732) and an answer linked to this msdn. So I tried : Uri uri = new Uri("pack://application:,,,/assemblyName;Component/Icons/myIcon.png"); But that did not work. Any ideas?

• [Django] How to find out whether a model's column is a foreign key?

  I'm dynamically storing information in the database depending on the request: // table, id and column are provided by the request table_obj = getattr(models, table) record = table_obj.objects.get(pk=id) setattr(record, column, request.POST['value']) The problem is that request.POST['value'] sometimes contains a foreign record's primary key (i.e. an integer) whereas Django expects the column's value to be an object of type ForeignModel: Cannot assign "u'122'": "ModelA.b" must be a "ModelB" instance. Now, is there an elegant way to dynamically check whether b is a column containing foreign keys and what model these keys are linked to? (So that I can load the foreign record by it's primary key and assign it to ModelA?) Or doesn't Django provide information like this to the programmer so I really have to get my hands dirty and use isinstance() on the foreign-key column?

  Hi, i have two Entities, "Parent" and "Child", that are linked through a bidirectional one-to-many relationship with the cascade attribute set to "all". When adding a Child object to the Parent children collection using the code below, i can't get the ID of the persisted child until i commit the transaction: Parent p = (Parent) session.load(Parent.class, pid); Child c = new Child(); p.addChild(c); // "c" hasn't an ID (is always zero) However, when i persist a child entity by explicitly calling the session.save() method, the ID is created and set immediately, even if the transaction hasn't been committed: Child c = new Child(); session.save(c); // "c" has an ID Is there a way to get the ID of the child entity immediately without calling the session.save() method? • Trouble using SFML with GCC and OS X

  I've been trying to get SFML working for a while now and I've been trying to get it working using GCC. I'm on OS X by the way. I followed the standard Linux instructions and using the Linux 64-bit download however when it comes to compiling... g++ -o testing main.cpp -lsfml-system This happens: main.cpp: In function ‘int main()’: main.cpp:7: error: ‘class sf::Clock’ has no member named ‘GetElapsedTime’ main.cpp:9: error: ‘class sf::Clock’ has no member named ‘GetElapsedTime’ main.cpp:10: error: ‘Sleep’ is not a member of ‘sf’ So I thought it could be due to not using includes, so I changed my gcc compile command to: g++ -o testing main.cpp -I ~/SFML-1.6/include/ -lsfml-system and now I'm getting this error: ld: warning: ignoring file /usr/local/lib/libsfml-system.so, file was built for unsupported file format which is not the architecture being linked (x86_64) Undefined symbols for architecture x86_64: "sf::Clock::Clock()", referenced from: _main in ccZEiB7b.o "sf::Clock::GetElapsedTime() const", referenced from: _main in ccZEiB7b.o "sf::Sleep(float)", referenced from: _main in ccZEiB7b.o ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture x86_64 collect2: ld returned 1 exit status** And I have no idea what to do to fix it.

• iOS app won't compile on device but works fine in simulator

  I'm assuming this has something to do with linking, but I've removed RestKit and re-added it. I made sure all my connections and linking was in place. If I set XCode to use the simulator it runs fine, but as soon as I set it to run on any device it won't even build. The only other thing of note is this didn't start happening till I upgraded to XCode 4.5. • Abstract classes in shared library

  Hi, I have an ordinary abstract class that has couple of pure virtual methods. The class itself is a part of the shared library. The compilation of the shared library itself is OK. But when the library is linked to another program that has another class deriving from the abstract one in the shared library and defining the pure virtual methods, I get the following linker error: I compile like this..: g++ -I../path/to/the/library main.cpp derived.cpp -L../path/to/the/library -lsomename -o shared ...and the linker error is: libsomename.so: undefined reference to `AbstractClass::method()' It's like the abstract class cannot access its pure virtual methods but I do not try to make any instance of the abstract class anywhere in the library. What could be the problem?

• What is the typical method to separate connected letters in a word using OCR

  I am very new to OCR and almost know nothing about the algorithms used to recognize words. I am just getting familiar to that. Could anybody please advise on the typical method used to recognize and separate individual characters in connected form (I mean in a word where all letters are linked together)? Forget about handwriting, supposing the letters are connected together using a known font, what is the best method to determine each individual character in a word? When characters are written separately there is no problem, but when they are joined together, we should know where every single character starts and ends in order to go to the next step and match them individually with a letter. Is there any known algorithm for that?

• Browser back button broken between hidden div's

  First of all, these pages will never be on the web but will be in internal memory. They are a group of linked documents---an ebook. http://www.anmldr.com/testdivs When I click on the link in the first div, the second div becomes visible and the first div is hidden. The problem is with the browser's back button. If you then click on the back button, the URL updates but the first div does not show again. How can I correct the back button so that the first div shows? The link from the second div to the first div works fine but it is the browser back button that I do not know how to work with. • MovieClip property - what is the url it goes when I click on it.

  I have bought a flash template in an online store. There are different buttons on it and some of them link to existing local html files from the pack - index-1.html, index-2.html etc. There are also some buttons that don't go anywhere right now but they are intended to be linked to some urls too. They react with animation on mouse rollover and I suppose they should go to some url if I set it somewhere on click. But there is no documentation about that in the pack. I searched through the Flash source file and all html pages files for something like "index", "geturl", also looked through them manually to realize how it could be made but with no luck. So, my question - is that possible that way or another to make that MovieClip button link to some my page, for example, "contacts.html". Thanks.

• 2-byte (UCS-2) wide strings under GCC

  Hi all, when porting my Visual C++ project to GCC, I found out that the wchar_t datatype is 4-byte UTF-32 by default. I could override that with a compiler option, but then the whole wcs* (wcslen, wcscmp, etc.) part of RTL is rendered unusable, since it assumes 4-byte wide strings. For now, I've reimplemented 5-6 of these functions from scratch and #defined my implementations in. But is there a more elegant option - say, a build of GCC RTL with 2-byte wchar-t quietly sitting somewhere, waiting to be linked? The specific flavors of GCC I'm after are Xcode on Mac OS X, Cygwin, and the one that comes with Debian Linux Etch.

  Hi, Would QuickGraph be able to help me out with my requirements below? (a) want to model a graph of nodes and directional relationships between nodes - for example to model web pages/files linked under a URL, or modeling IT infrastructure and dependencies between hardware/software. The library would include methods such as * Node.GetDirectParents() //i.e. there could be more than one direct parent for a node * Node.GetRootParents() //i.e. traverse the tree to the top root parent(s) for the given node * Node.GetDirectChildren() * Node.GetAllChildren() (b) have to persist the data to a database - so it should support SQL Server and ideally SQLite as well. If it does support these requirement then I'd love to hear: any pointers to any parts of QuickGraph to dig into? what is the best concept re it's usage in terms of how to use database persistence - is it a simpler design to assume every search/method works directly on the database, or does QuickGraph support smarts to be able to work in memory and the "save" to database all changes at an appropriate point in time (e.g. like ADO.net does with DataTable etc) Thanks in advance

  Hi, I have moodle1.9 installed on my system and writing some custom reports. I want to retrieve list of students registered for a particular course. I have user profile field usercategoryid through which i figure out for which category he has enrolled. Course belongs to a particular category. Through mdl_user_info_data table i retrieve the category for a particular user. I have written a query to retrieve the users who have registered for a particular category for e.g. Financial Planning 2010. But the issue is that i now want users who have registered for a particular course for e.g. Insurance Planning. There is a relation between course and course category but i am unable to find out the table where course and user information is linked. Please help me on this Thanks

• Django + Pydev/Eclipse + Google App Engine - possible?

  Has anyone been able to get Google App Engine/Django working in Pydev/Eclipse? I tried this but had difficulty getting Pydev to recognize all of the externally linked folders (django plugins) that I was referencing. I ended up copying all of those folders into the project en masse, rather than referencing them, resulting in a massively bloated project folder - it was really an unworkable solution that eventually made me give up the whole project. So, I'm wondering if anyone has tried this or has any idea what I might have been doing wrong. (Keep in mind this was my first attempt at using Pydev, Django, App Engine and Python!!)

• How to merge/crosslink Javadoc?

  If you have the standard Javadoc for a few different projects, how can you process them to create a single unified set of documentation in which everything is cross-linked? Ideally, the result would be similar to the documentation for the various modules in the NetBeans Platform: http://bits.netbeans.org/dev/javadoc/index.html but I've looked at their build scripts and they're predicated on you building everything from source. I'm looking for something which could also handle linking in Javadoc for third-party libraries, so I'd imagine it would need to be a post-processing operation. I can't be the first person to ever want this. Any ideas?

• jQuery Validate - Require at least one from group, plus additional items.

  I'm attempting to use 'jQuery Validate' on a form that requires an email address plus either all items of a shipping address completed or none at all. Using the sample provided by the solution to this question: jQuery Validate - “Either skip these fields, or fill at least X of them”, I have been able to successfully solve the validation of the address group. The problem, however, is that the logic for validating the email address field does not work. From debugging the Validate scripts, the "re-entrant" validation code triggered by calling 'fields.data('being_validated', true).valid();' in the linked example results in a reset of all previously validated errors (i.e. the email validation error is cleared). I have modified some existing samples, the first in which removes the offending line and the second with it included.
