  • Manage Foreign key and Drop downlist for optional field in .NET

    What is the best way to handle following situation? A dropdown(for master table) is optional in a particular form. But, In database table the field is constrained with foreign key. If user don't select from dropdown then It creates problem because of foreign key. One solution is to create default option in master table and use it in case of blank selection. but in dropdown, we need to handle this to show on top. Is it perfect solution? Is there any other optimized solution for this? Thanks

However, i'm dealing with the issue of creating and maintaining users and role membership. I know that I can roll my own solution but I'm wondering if there is an alternative solution?     I'm trying to go over each row of a table in MySQL using Spring and a JdbcTemplate. If I'm not mistaken this should be as simple as: JdbcTemplate template = new JdbcTemplate(datasource); template.setFetchSize(1); // template.setFetchSize(Integer.MIN_VALUE) does not work either template.query("SELECT * FROM cdr", new RowCallbackHandler() { public void processRow(ResultSet rs) throws SQLException { System.out.println(rs.getString("src")); } }); I get an OutOfMemoryError because it is trying to read the whole thing. Any ideas?

    Video in VLC or SMplayer is often in black and white with washed-out colors in the wrong place (translated considerably). Moreover, the last video image is often visible when a new video is started and persist as long as the new video is running. Colors have a recognizable shape (e.g. a persons clothes or face), but can be obviously incorrect (e.g. green or purples faces). This is independent of the format of the videos (mp4, mkv, wmv). Sometimes all problems disappear when a new video is started, but often only a reboot restores normal video. Ubuntu was upgraded to 14.04 and is fully updated.     Hi, I want to create a multi-tenant application that uses the hostname to determine the customer. For example: CustomerOne.myapp.com AnotherCo.myapp.com AndOneMore.myapp.com ... I can do the database and security side with no problems, I can also get the hostname from the URL, but what I am struggling to find out is how to create the basic plumbing that would allow a new customer to sign up online, provide their company name, and for the application to create the new URL, ready to be used straight away.   • How to Manage CSS Explosion

    I have been heavily relying on CSS for a website that I am working on (currently, everything is done as property values within each tag on the website and I'm trying to get away from that to make updates significantly easier). The problem I am running into, is I'm starting to get a bit of "CSS explosion" going on. It is becoming difficult for me to decide how to best organize and abstract data within the CSS file. For example: I am using a large number of div tags within the website (previously it was completely tables based). So I'm starting to get a lot of CSS that looks like this... div.title { background-color: Blue; color: White; text-align: center; } div.footer { /* Stuff Here */ } div.body { /* Stuff Here */ } etc. It's not too bad yet, but since I am learning here, I was wondering if recommendations could be made on how best to organize the various parts of a CSS file. What I don't want to get to is where I have a separate CSS attribute for every single thing on my website (which I have seen happen), and I always want the CSS file to be fairly intuitive. (P.S. I do realize this is a very generic, high-level question. My ultimate goal is to make it easy to use the CSS files and demonstrate their power to increase the speed of web development so other individuals that may work on this site in the future will also get into the practice of using them rather than hard-coding values everywhere.)
