  • Is there a good way to wrap an existing Python based web application to require a login?

    I'm in the process of installing an open-source Python based web application to an internal server here at work. The existing code is open - it doesn't require a login to view it - but one of the requirements is that users have to be approved before they can see anything. Is there a good way (using Apache configuration files for example, but any method would be great) to wrap the application so that any access requires a login? I would like to avoid modifying the open-source code (a maintenance nightmare every time a new release comes out). Any thoughts or suggestions?

  • Word document can not open on user's system

    I try to open a word document in my web application. It opens fine on localhost, but now I am publishing my web application on a server. Users that access the published web application (like http://10.0.23.57/StandardOperatingProcedure/Default.aspx) can not open the word document on their system. winword.exe opens on the server but can not open the word document. Access my system to author systems also same problem is coming. (Word document does not open on user's system. The word instance opens on my system.)

    I'm writing a user manual to a card game and there is a looot of linked images. Open Office is working so slow because every time I flip to a page with linked images it starts to update them. Is it possible to tell Open Office to NOT update the links until I tell it to do so? I would like it to display the same snapshot it showed the last time I initiated link update. Customization is only the CSS changes its going to be. 3 . Do i need to put all the files as it is of the package which downloaded.because my download has samples which supports all languages.   • What FOSS solutions are available to manage software requirements?

    In the company where I work, we are starting to plan to be compliant to the software development life cycle. We already have, wiki, vcs system, bug tracking system, and a continuous integration system. The next step we want to have is to start to manage, in a structured way, software requirements. We dont want to use a wiki or shared documentation because we have many input (developer, manager, commercial, security analyst and other) and we dont want to handle proliferation of .doc around the network share. We are trying to search and we hope we can find and use a FOSS software to manage all this things. We have about 30 people, and don't have a budget for commercial software. We need a free solution for requirements management. What we want is software that can manage: Required features: Software requirements divided in a structured configurable way Versioning of the requirements (history, diff, etc, like source code) Interdependency of requirements (child of, parent of, related to) Rule Based Access Control for data handling Multi user, multi project File upload (for graph, document related to or so on) Report and extraction features Optional Features: Web Based Test case Time based management (timeline, excepted data, result data) Person allocation and so on Business related stuff Hardware allocation handling I have already play with testlink and now i'm playing with RTH, the next one i try is redmine.

PlaygroundEntities context = new PlaygroundEntities(); Person p = new Person { Status = PersonStatus.Alive, BirthDate = new DateTime(1982,3,18), Name = "Joe Smith" }; context.AddToPeople(p); context.SaveChanges(); When i run this code i get the following error The conversion of a datetime2 data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.\r\nThe statement has been terminated. So i tried setting the StoreGeneratedPattern to computed... same thing, then identity... same thing. Any ideas?

Specifically, we have withdrawn from new sales the product known as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Technology Foundation ("Blue Stack"). Our motivation for this change is simply to streamline licensing for our customers. Going forward, customers will license Oracle products from Oracle and IBM products from IBM. Customers who are currently licensed for Technology Foundation will continue to receive support--unchanged--through September 30, 2016. This announcement affects how customers license these IBM products; it does not affect Oracle's certification roadmap for IBM products with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. Customers who are currently running their JD Edwards EnterpriseOne infrastructure using IBM platform components can continue to do so regardless of whether they license these components via Technology Foundation or directly from IBM. New customers choosing to run JD Edwards EnterpriseOne on IBM technology should license JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Core Tools from Oracle while licensing Infrastructure and any licenses of IBM products from IBM.     I have the following relationship CType has many Field Field has many Ctype and of course the tables used are fields, ctypes, and ctypes_fields. Normally, the ctypes_fields table should contain only ids referencing the other two tables. However, i'd like to put there a "options" field that will contain some content for the concrete instance only. I walked through all DataMapper tuts but I could'n find relevant info on how I could extract these specific values (the ones in the relation table) Should I create a separate model for this relation table or there is a clever way to do this ?

    Lets say we want a library of javascript-based pieces of functionality (I'm thinking jquery): For example: an ajax dialog a date picker a form validator a sliding menu bar an accordian thingy There are four pieces of code for each: some Python, CSS, JS, & HTML. What is the best way to arrange all these pieces so that: each javascript 'module' can be neatly reused by different views the four bits of code that make up the completed function stay together the css/js/html parts appear in their correct places in the response common dependencies between modules are not repeated (eg: a javascript file in common) x-------------- It would be nice if, or is there some way to ensure that, when called from a templatetag, the templates respected the {% block %} directives. Thus one could create a single template with a block each for CSS, HTML, and JS, in a single file. Invoke that via a templatetag which is called from the template of whichever view wants it. That make any sense. Can that be done some way already? My templatetag templates seem to ignore the {% block %} directives. x-------------- There's some very relevant gasbagging about putting such media in forms here http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/topics/forms/media/ which probably apply to the form validator and date picker examples.

    If i’ve got 2(or more) model methods which do (for example, in billing system) enrolling/withdrawing, and one controller’s method that calls 2(or more) of these model methods. Is it a good way(maybe, any suggestions how to do it better) to write/use 2model methods like these: public function start_transaction(){ $this->db->trans_start(); } public function end_transaction(){ $this->db->trans_complete(); } And call in controller’s method: public function smth(){ //something $this->model->start_transaction(); $this->model->enroll(); //something else $this->model->withdraw(); $this->model->end_transaction(); } Will transaction be reversed, if model's withdraw() method fails? Over the past couple of months, these startups have been mentored by business and technology leaders, met with investors, learned from each other, and, most importantly, been building great products.     Using the Server Management Objects (SMO) library, you don’t even need to have the SQL Server 2008 PowerShell Provider to read the SQL Server Error Logs – in fact, you can use regular old everyday PowerShell. Keep in mind you will need the SMO libraries – which can be installed separately or by installing the Client Tools from the SQL Server install media. You could search for errors, store a result as a variable, or act on the returned values in some other way. Replace the Machine Name with your server and Instance Name with your instance, but leave the quotes, to make this work on your system: [reflection.assembly]::LoadWithPartialName("Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo") $machineName = "UNIVAC" $instanceName = "Production" $sqlServer = new-object ("Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Server") "$machineName\$instanceName" $sqlServer.ReadErrorLog() Want to search for something specific, like the word “Error”?
