    I'm getting this error in CodeIgniter when trying to load the email library: Can't use method return value in write context It's happening on line 827 of Loader.php in [codeigniter root]/system/libraries/Loader.php include_once($filepath); where $filepath equals "/var/www/system/libraries/Email.php" I called it like this in another php file: $this->load->library('email'); where $this is the CodeIgniter instance. According to the CodeIgniter email doc page, I'm doing it right. But it's not working...

    Obviously ||= won't work def x? @x_query ||= expensive_way_to_calculate_x end because if it turns out to be false, then expensive_way_to_calculate_x will get run over and over. Currently the best way I know is to put the memoized true or false into an Array: def x? return @x_query.first if @x_query.is_a?(Array) @x_query = [expensive_way_to_calculate_x] @x_query.first end Is there a more conventional or efficient way of doing this?

    With Jquery, is there some way to make val() return an empty string instead of 'undefined' when called against an empty list of elements? E.g., I have this code: var x = $('#my-textbox-id').not('.watermark').val(); The idea is that I want to get the value of my textbox, but I want an empty string if it is currently showing the watermark (i don't want the watermark value!). The selector works, but i don't want 'undefined' - I want an empty string ''.

    I want to test if an xml attribute is present. Given this: XmlAttributeCollection PG_attrColl = SomeNodeorAnother.Attributes; This first test works: if (null != PG_attrColl["SomeAttribute"]) "GetNamedItem" is supposed to return null, but the following test throws an exception complaining about the null it returns. if (null != PG_attrColl.GetNamedItem("SomeAttribute").Value;) Why the difference? Just curious.

    Hi, is it possible to return a HashMap to R with the rJava extension of R? E.g. I have a method in Java, which returns a HashMap and I want this HashMap use in R. I tried: .jcall(javaObj, "Ljava/util/HashMap", "getDbInfoMap") This doesn't work. Do I have to put everything into a String[], that I want to pass to R from Java? Or is there another possibility? Any help/info on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi guys, I'm trying to work out an app design in my head and I would like the user to be able to click there destination address on the map of there area. If I know the user is in Liverpool is it possible to pop up the map over liverpool and then allow the user to select on the map where they wanna go, and the google map/api return the street or the name of the area?     In what cases would a call to java.sql.ResultSetMetaData.isSearchable(int col) return false for an Oracle database? The documentation for the method doesn't really answer the question: "Indicates whether the designated column can be used in a where clause." I can think of only one case - when the column is the result of an aggregate function (in which case it would have to be part of a HAVING filter, not a WHERE filter). Are there any other cases?

Only the up and down buttons of the SpinBox can be seen, but not any value. The question object contains id ,question,answertype and reference to a form object using form_id.     Hi, I want to use bat to automate some of my work. It should first look up the value of a certain registry key, and then copy some files to the directory that included in the registry key value. I used reg query command to look up registry, such as: REG QUERY "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment" /v PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE The result seems contains carriage return and I need to remove it, I've tried some solutions but all failed.
