  • ListBox content does not resize when window is made smaller

    - by DamonGant
    I'm using .NET 4.0 (not .NET 4.0 CP) and have run into this kinda unique issue. I created a ListBox to display bound elements, first off here is (a part) of my XAML. <Grid Grid.Row="2" Background="#EEEEEE"> <Border Margin="6,10,10,10" BorderBrush="#666666" BorderThickness="1"> <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding}" Name="appList" BorderThickness="0" HorizontalContentAlignment="Stretch" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"> <ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="80" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="*" /> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Border Grid.Column="0" Margin="5" BorderThickness="3" CornerRadius="2" BorderBrush="Black" HorizontalAlignment="Left" VerticalAlignment="Top" x:Name="ItemBorder"> <Image Width="64" Height="64" Source="{Binding Path=IconUri}" Stretch="UniformToFill" /> </Border> <StackPanel Margin="0,5,5,5" Grid.Column="1" Orientation="Vertical" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"> <TextBlock FontSize="18" Text="{Binding Path=DisplayName}" /> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*" /> <ColumnDefinition Width="60"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ProgressBar Grid.Column="0" Height="24" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" IsIndeterminate="{Binding Path=IsDiscovering}" Value="{Binding Path=PercentageDownloaded}" /> <TextBlock Grid.Column="1" HorizontalAlignment="Center" VerticalAlignment="Center"><TextBlock x:Name="percentageDownloaded" /><TextBlock x:Name="percentageMeter">%</TextBlock></TextBlock> </Grid> </StackPanel> </Grid> <DataTemplate.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding Path=IsDiscovering}"> <DataTrigger.Value>True</DataTrigger.Value> <Setter TargetName="percentageDownloaded" Property="Text" Value="N/A" /> <Setter TargetName="percentageMeter" Property="Visibility" Value="Collapsed" /> </DataTrigger> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding Path=IsDiscovering}"> <DataTrigger.Value>False</DataTrigger.Value> <Setter TargetName="percentageDownloaded" Property="Text" Value="{Binding Path=PercentageDownloaded}" /> <Setter TargetName="percentageMeter" Property="Visibility" Value="Visible" /> </DataTrigger> </DataTemplate.Triggers> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> </Border> </Grid> Sizing the window up stretches the ListBox content just fine, but when I size it down, it retains it's width and spawns vertical scrollbars.

  • PHP - not sure how to ask - regarding variables and $_POST

    - by Phil
    I have a PHP form. The form works but I'm trying to test to see if a value other than the first item has been selected. I can't figure out how to write the If statement. $products = array( '' => 1, 'Item 2' => 2, 'Item 3' => 3, 'Item 4' => 4, 'Item 5' => 5, 'Item 6' => 6 ); $html = generateSelect('products', $products); function generateSelect($name = '', $options = array()) { $html = '<select name="'.$name.'">'; foreach ($options as $option => $value) { $html .= '<option value='.$value.'>'.$option.'</option>'; } $html .= '</select>'; return $html; } In my table, the drop down box is displayed: <tr> <td style="width:{$left_col_width}; text-align:left; vertical-align:center; padding:{$cell_padding}; font-weight:bold; {$product[3]}">{$product[0]}</td> <td style="text-align:left; vertical-align:top; padding:{$cell_padding};"><select name="{$product[1]}"> <option value="1"></option> <option value="2">Item 2</option> <option value="3">Item 3</option> <option value="4">Item 4</option> <option value="5">Item 5</option> <option value="6">Item 6</option> </select></td> </tr> I use the following if statement to check to see if someone has entered a phone number. if they have not entered a phone number, then the "Phone:" text turns red. How do I do an if statement similar to this to verify that someone has selected a product option from the drop down box? if(!empty($_POST['phone'])) { $phone[2] = clean_var($_POST['phone']); if (function_exists('htmlspecialchars')) $phone[2] = htmlspecialchars($phone[2], ENT_QUOTES); } else { $error = 1; $phone[3] = 'color:#d20128;'; } it seems simple but I can't figure it out.

  • Use ImageMagick to place an image inside a larger canvas

    - by Mike
    Getting started with ImageMagic and trying to find a way to do this... If an image is less than 50 pixels tall or 50 pixels wide, I'd like to place it (un-scaled) in the horizontal/vertical center of a new 50x50 pixel canvas on top of a white background - and save that as the new image. Anyone know if this is possible with ImageMagick? Thanks!

  • editText not centering

    - by Will Nasby
    I have a large editText that no matter what I try, won't center. I have tried putting it in a horizontal and vertical linear layout and then setting that gravity to center because setting the imageText's gravity to center, it still hugs the left of my activity. <EditText android:id="@+id/editText1" android:layout_width="250dp" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:ems="10" android:gravity="center" android:lines="8" android:maxLines="8" android:minLines="8" > </EditText> And here is what it is doing:

  • CSS resizable menu and content background images

    - by Hristo
    Hello, I need to have resizable menu and content background images for my site, so both of them get stretched whenever the menu entries are too many, or the contents go outside the borders of the content background. I need vertical stretching. Could you, please, give me a hint (an actual answer would work as well) or a link to a good example? Thank you very much in advance!

  • How to get ImageButton size within Android GridView?

    - by wufoo
    I'm subclassing ImageButton in order to draw lines on it and trying to figure out where the actual button coordinates are within my gridview. I am using onGlobalLayout to setup Top, Bottom, Right and Left, but these seem to be for the actual "square" within the grid, and not the actual button (see image). The purple lines are drawn in myImageButton.onDraw() using coords gathered from myImageButton.onGlobalLayout(). I thought these would be for the button, but they seem to be from something else. Not sure what. I'd like the purple lines to match the outline of the button so the lines I draw appear on the button and not just floating out in the LinearLayout somewhere. The light blue is the background color of the vertical LinearLayout holding the Textview (for the number) and myImageButton. Any way to get the actual button size? XML Layout: <FrameLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:id="@+id/lay_cellframe" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" > <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:gravity="fill_vertical|fill_horizontal" android:orientation="vertical" > <TextView android:id="@+id/tv_cell" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_margin="2dp" android:gravity="center" android:text="TextView" android:textSize="10sp" /> <com.example.icaltest2.myImageButton android:id="@+id/imageButton1" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:layout_gravity="center" android:layout_margin="0dp" android:adjustViewBounds="false" android:background="@android:drawable/btn_default" android:scaleType="fitXY" android:src="@android:color/transparent" /> </LinearLayout> </FrameLayout> myImageButton.java public myImageButton (Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super (context, attrs); mBounds = new Rect(); ViewTreeObserver vto = this.getViewTreeObserver (); vto.addOnGlobalLayoutListener (ogl); Log.d (TAG, "myImageButton"); } ... OnGlobalLayoutListener ogl = new OnGlobalLayoutListener() { @Override public void onGlobalLayout () { Rect b = getDrawable ().getBounds (); mBtnTop = b.centerY () - (b.height () / 2); mBtnBot = b.centerY () + (b.height () / 2); mBtnLeft = b.centerX () - (b.width () / 2); mBtnRight = b.centerX () + (b.width () / 2); } }; ... @Override protected void onDraw (Canvas canvas) { super.onDraw (canvas); Paint p = new Paint (); p.setStyle (Paint.Style.STROKE); p.setStrokeWidth (1); p.setColor (Color.MAGENTA); canvas.drawCircle (mBtnLeft, mBtnTop, 2, p); canvas.drawCircle (mBtnLeft, mBtnBot, 2, p); canvas.drawCircle (mBtnRight, mBtnTop, 2, p); canvas.drawCircle (mBtnRight, mBtnBot, 2, p); canvas.drawRect (mBtnLeft, mBtnTop, mBtnRight, mBtnBot, p); }

  • Lifting a math symbol in LaTeX

    - by Chris Conway
    I'm using the symbol \otimes as a unary operator and it's vertical alignment doesn't seem right to me. It wants to sit a bit below the baseline: and I tried using \raisebox to fix this, e.g., \raisebox{1pt}{$\otimes$}: But \raisebox doesn't seem to be sensitive to subscripts. The operator stays the same size while everything around it shrinks: The problem, I think, is that \raisebox creates its own LR box, which doesn't inherit the settings in the surrounding math environment. Is there a version of \raisebox that "respects math"?

  • How do I print this list vertically?

    - by UnworthyToast
    Let's say I have this list of asterisks, and I say it to print this way: list = ['* *', '*', '* * *', '* * * * *', '* * * * * *', '* * * *'] for i in list: print i So here, the output is: * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * But I want the output to be vertical, like this: * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Any tips on doing this? I've tried to conceptualize how to use things like list comprehension or for-loops for this, but haven't got it quite right.

  • Dreaded iframe horizontal scroll bar can't be removed in IE?

    - by mrjrdnthms
    I have an iframe. The content is wider than the width I am setting so the iframe gets a horizontal scroll bar. I can't increase the width of the iframe so I want to just remove the scroll bar. I tried setting the scroll property to "no" but that kills both scroll bars and I want the vertical one. I tried setting overflow-x to "hidden" and that killed the horizontal scroll bar in ff but not in IE. sad for me.
