  Hello, i have a QMainWindow. It has this parameters: this->setWindowFlags(Qt::Tool); this->setFocusPolicy(Qt::StrongFocus); this->setAttribute(Qt::WA_QuitOnClose,true); After showEvent calles my window is shown but unactivated. I tried to overload show function: ... QMainWindow::showEvent(event); this->activateWindow(); ... But it doesn't help me. EDIT: When i commented line this->setWindowFlags(Qt::Tool); everything worked fine, but i need in tool-flag. Any ideas? EDIT: OS: Linux Programming language: c++ Qt version: 4.5.1

• nyroModal Window on flash background

  I've got a Flex App running at 100% width and 100% height. The embed code is: <script type="text/javascript"> var fVars = {}; fVars.wmode = "transparent"; //also tried "opaque" swfobject.embedSWF("/swf/app.swf", "app", "100%", "100%", "9.0.0", "expressInstall.swf", fVars); </script> <div class="app"></div> I've also got the nyroModal call, which is essentially $.nyroModalManual({ url: urlPath, wrap: {}, closeButton: "" }); The modal window I am trying to open in this case is a div with some text and another flash embed, which works. I've also got the app div's z-index to 0. In Firefox this looks fine, everything works. In Chrome however, nyroModal's fade-in/transparent overlay does not show up, and only the second swf is visible overtop the background flash. Am I missing anything here? Is this a known issue with Chrome?

  Hello. I want to handle following scenarios in my new web application. If multiple users log into the application with same credentials, the application should deny access. Since I have out of process session store, I would be able to make out when this situation happens. So I can deny all requests after first successful attempt. This will however not work if the user instead of logging out of the application, closes the browser. The session will continue to reflect in the store for the period of timeout value. If a user attempts to open a new browser windows (Ctrl+N), the application should defeat this attempt. Every new page can potentially fiddle with cookies. I want to therefore deny the users the ability to open new window.

• Vertex Buffer Object not drawing in SDL window

  I'm just using the opengl SDL template with Xcode, and everything runs fine. I removed the Atlantis code, and changed the main extension to .mm, then added some testing code to drawGL. Drawing a simple triangle (using immediate mode) at this point inside drawGL gives me a white triangle, but when I add the code to draw using a vertex buffer object, i just get a black window. • Keep Window Inactive In Appearance Even When Activated

  Is there a way to keep a window inactive looking, even if it contains focus? I have two forms (A and B). After the user interacts with A, I transfer focus back to B. The result of the focus transfers (the user clicking on the A, then focus being transferred back to B) is that form A blinks from active to inactive. This looks ugly (especially on Vista where A momentarily gets a bigger shadow). How can I make A stay inactive looking so this blinking will not happen?

  Hi, I am working on an application in which i need to store all the NSObject subclass properties into plist file and then allow users to store it and restore it. We call it profile and it can restore the saved state of all the controls/views on the window in my application. I have completed the storing/Restoring part, but the issue is when i am updating the class properties manually, it is not updating the control state Like checkboxs and others which is bind with the class property. Please let me know how can i update the controls state, if its KVC/KVO updated programatically. Thanks in advance

• Cut and paste out of/ into text fields in a separate window doesn't work

  I have a Macintosh Mozilla plugin which puts up a separate window for login information. It seems to work fine, it gets keyboard events like typing and hitting return to hit the default button. HOWEVER, it doesn't seem to get cut and paste events. When I hit Cmd-v, the edit menu flashes, but nothing happnes. Is this a problem with my responder chain? Do I have to specially tell Mozilla that I want these events? or am I likely to have some other problem that I haven't even thought of? thanks.

• differences between using wmode="transparent", "opaque", "window" for an embedded object on webpage

  when embedding a Flash object with the <object and <embed tag, there is an attribute called "wmode". It seems that most of the time, wmode="transparent" is the same as wmode="opaque" as the Flash doesn't actually have any transparent color so that the bottom HTML element is to be shown. As a result, "opaque" should be faster than "transparent" since it require less processing for transparency, yet most of the time i see Flash object embedded with "transparent" instead of "opaque". "opaque" is needed so that other HTML element won't be covered up by the Flash object. (such as a menu item that pops up an extra sub-menu won't be covered up by the Flash object). By the way, is there formal documentation for wmode's "opaque", "transparent", and "window"? I was only able to find blogs that describe it but not the formal documentation. thanks.

  Hi all, I have found that user can associate help with his application using Help Viewer. Users typically launch Help Viewer by choosing the application help item from the Help menu, or by typing a query in the Spotlight For Help text field in the Help menu. I have some different requirement: I want to associate component specific help to my application, means that there will be a small '?' marked icon at bottom left corner of a window and when user clicks it, appropriate help page will open. This case is similar to 'print' panels where there is a small '?' icon. Can anyone suggest me some way to accomplish it, if it is possible? Thanks, Miraaj

  I'm using WinApi. Is SendMessage/PostMessage a good, thread safe method of communicating with the main window? Suppose, the working thread is creating a bitmap, that must be displayed on the screen. The working thread allocates a bitmap, sends a message with a pointer to this bitmap and waits until GUI thread processes it (for example using SendMessage). The working thread shares no data with other threads. Am I running into troubles with such design? Are there any other possibilities that do not introduce thread synchronizing, locking etc. ?

So there are times when I want the command window to not show up and times when I want it to stay open so that the user can see what happened, possibly respond with the appropriate input.   I'm planning on creating a C# Windows Forms app as an extension for a third-party Win32 application but I'm stumped as to how to do this right now. The farthest I've gotten is knowing it involves Win32 Hooking and that there's this open source project called EasyHook that's supposed to allow me to do this. I'd like to know how I can get the text from a textbox or some other data from a control in a third-party Win32 application. The text/data in a control is to be captured from the external application's running window the moment the user presses a button. I guess the question can be summed up as follows: How do you determine the event to hook to when the user clicks a certain button? How do you get the value displayed by a Win32 control at the time the button is clicked?

  What is the equivalent of Quartz Window Services for Windows and X11? I want to be able to capture individual windows with their decorations, shadows, etc., completely independent from each other.   Hello. I like to use the split window feature in Vim. However I cannot seem to drag drop new files into the different sections. Doing so will just open a new tab. I don't like using tabs as I still need to flick between them and not much different to using separate windows. Is there anyway I can change this behaviour? What is the best way to keep the edit flag and undo manager in synch with the content of the different model objects? • Scripting window positioning in OS X

  My primary computing setup is a macbook pro with a large external monitor. I'm looking for a convenient way of moving a number of the windows of open programs from the laptop screen to the external monitor when I plug it in. I've seen a few partial scripts for accomplishing this, but nothing comprehensive. Ideally I'd like to specify the laptop screen location and external monitor location for each window and be able to toggle between them. Is anyone aware of any existing utility or Applscripts that can perform this?

  I want to be able to play an alarm sound using Javascript in a browser window, preferably with the requirement for any browser plugins (Quicktime/Flash). • How to create skype like message window?

  Hi all, I am just trying to design skype like message window , for this I have taken the NSDrawer element. It contains : a table view on left, menu items on top, text field on right bottom and text view at central portion on right side. Using text view I can play with string being displayed but I cannot draw the line between messages or round rectangle surrounding user name and time stamp. • Fullscreen HTML Element using window.innerHeight/Width different with DOCTYPE

  I'm trying to make an HTML5 canvas element fullscreen with the window.innerHeight and innerWidth properties. Unfortunately, on Chrome 10, when I set use the following doctype: <!DOCTYPE HTML> ...there is some extra scrolling space indicated by scroll bars which shouldn't appear. Without a doctype, everything is fine. The element is an HTML5 canvas, so styling with 100% will only stretch the content. Is it worth using a doctype which breaks my functionality (without which might be bad?), or should I subtract, say, 15px from the values in order to keep scroll bars from appearing? (which is kludgy)

• Visual Studios Team System 2008 Code Coverage Window Closes

  Trying to run the code coverage tool in Visual Studios for a set of unit tests. Adam from Think First, Code Later has had the same problem: I wanted to get the code coverage metrics for the project. Naturally, I fire up the solution in Visual Studio 2008, go to the Test menu, click Edit Test Run Configurations, and click Local Test Run. I then click Code Coverage to turn on code coverage for a given assembly and POOF the Local Test Run Configraution window just disappears. He recommends installing this hotfix to fix the problem, however a) when I run that hotfix I get the message “None of the products that are addressed by this software update are installed on this computer. Click Cancel to exit setup.” and b) there is no Silverlight in our solution. Any other ideas for a fix?
