• Button INPUT that save datas and link at the same time

  Im doing a questionare (form) and i need to put a button submit that do two things : 1) Be a button type INPUT ( because I need to use this kind of button on my php code, I've if(@$_POST['Next']) for save the dates of the form in my DB). 2) That this button will have a link for go to the next screen of the questionare. I tried with a href="demo2.html" target="_blank"><input class="buttonNext" name="submit" type="submit" value="NEXT &#8592" ></a This code don't works but with IE browser on the page page appears a circle next to my button that are the link. So the button don't works, only save the data, but don't link to the next page. How can I solve it ?

  I have a list of posts and an edit link for each. When clicking edit it goes to a page where I can edit the specific post I clicked on. For this I will have to pull from the db the id of the post. Would this be the correct way to do it? <a href="<?php echo site_url("post/edit/$row->id"); ?>">Edit</a> post is my controller, edit is my function, and $row->id should pull the id of the post.

  I'm making a tournament manager in CakePHP 1.3 and I have a tournament controller which is fine but I want to implement a interface that can be used to define how a tournament runs. the controller needs to load a concrete class that implements the TournamentStyle interface that defines how the tournament works. At the end of a round the TournamentStyle is used to calculate the scores and winners and generate the next round of matches. That gives me a .php file for the interface and other files for the various styles. My question is: where would I put these files and how would I load them into my tournament controller?

  so when my url looks like this: http://mywebsitehere.com/?kw=1 I am using this code below to do stuff with it: <?php if( isset($_GET['kw'] )){ //my div here } ?> It works great, and I am getting exactly what I want on the page. However, any link I click on that page will change the url structure and remove the ?kw=1 . Is there anyway to add the ?kw=1 to every link for that session? I have no clue how to do this?   In my PHP Web-App I use sessions to store the user's data. For exmaple, if a user logs in, then an instance of the User class is generated and stored in a Session. I have access levels associated with each user to determine their privileges. Store the user in a session by: $_SESSION['currentUser'] = new User($_POST['username']); For example: if($_SESSION['currentUser'] -> getAccessLevel() == 1) { //allow administration functions } where getAccessLevel() is simply a get method in the User class that returns the _accesslevel member variable. Is this secure? Or can the client somehow modify their access level through session manipulation of some sort?

  Hello guys.. I have data which is starting from 0 in my database. My php will add 1 or -1 to the data depending on the user's input. My problem is that if data is 0 and a user try to subtract 1. The data become 4294967295 which is the maximum value of INT data type. Are there anyways to make the data stays in 0 even when the user asks for -1?   In cake php I can grab a model's fields by using the find() method. What if I wish to apply a transformation function to the fields? Is there a way to directly accomplish this task? Suppose I have a model called RaceTime with the fields racerId and timeMillis RaceTime +------------+ | Field | +------------+ | id | | racerId | | timeMillis | +------------+ timeMillis is an int specifying how long the race took in milliseconds. Obviously saying a race took 15651 milliseconds isn't very useful to a human reader, and I would wish to convert this to a human readable format. Is there a way to accomplish this directly in find()? Or is the only option to loop through the results after find() finishes?

It's obvious how you can open a window from a javascript link that frames an existing page, or just do a target=_blank from a regular a tag that references an existing page.   I have an input field in a form. Upon pushing submit, I want to validate to make sure the user entered non-latin characters only, so any foreign language characters, like Chinese among many others. Or at the very least test to make sure it does not contain any latin characters. Could I use a regular expression for this? What would be the best approach for this? I am validating in both javaScript and in PHP. What solutions can I use to check for foreign characters in the input field in both programming languages?

  Well, not my server. My friend found it and sent it to me, trying to make sense of it. What it appears to be is a PHP IRC bot, but I have no idea how to decode it and make any sense of it. Here is the code: <?eval(gzinflate(base64_decode('some base 64 code here')))?> So I decoded the base64, and it output a ton of strange characters, I'm guessing either encrypted or a different file type, like when you change a .jpg to a .txt and open it. But I have no idea how to decode this and determine its source. Any help?

So here I have some a setup of kind of CMS. To load the page controller, I have added a condition in routes as below $route[':any'] = "page"; But what it is doing now is, when I try to open admin_panel, it loads the page controller.   Hello, I need to be able to encrypt the MySQL traffic from a web server to a database server. I know how to set MySQL to use SSL based on the server and client settings in my.cnf however, this needs to be done using mysql_connect() in PHP. This may be a 2 part question. 1) Does mysql_connect() use the MySQL client settings that are set in my.cnf? If not... I have read that you can use MYSQL_CLIENT_SSL however, where is the SSL data obtained from? Does using MYSQL_CLIENT_SSL in the mysql_connect function automagically encrypt the traffic? Simply put, what is the best way to do this? Thanks!

• Same script, working on a site, not working on the other!

  Hello, First of all I apologize in advance for this question, a bit off the rang of stackoverflow, but I've spend a day trying to solve that issue and I'm totally stuck. The issue: The search function of my script (php) works perfectly fine on one host but not on the other. If you search something here : edu-cafe.com, you'll get a result, just as it should be. However, try a search on this site, hosted somewhere else : code-reduc.com, exact same script, files and datable, and it just hang. I've asked both the host and the original programmer of the script to look at the issue but they can't seem to find an answer...   Im setting up a web form, and I'm trying to have it where visitors can paste their resumes into a text area. Then I want to email the info using php mail(). But the resume info is just stored in the variable as one long string with no formatting. Is there a way I can send the pasted resume text to the client in the resume format? Maintaining all the line breaks and stuff? He wants to avoid having people upload resumes.
