• How to lock the Screen customly? Just like WaveSecure in Android

  I want to do a demo just like WaveSecure, which win Android Develop Challenge 2 with a third place. Now I have a problem in locking the screen customly, so I want to know how WaveSecure achieve its locking function, as the following picture show: http://goo.gl/XlPP When the mobile is locked, WaveSecure can require customer to input their own password. So I think WaveSecure must replace Android's original locking function. And I also google it, but I didn't find anything helpful. I only find two packages may be helpful. They are: android.app.KeyguardManager android.os.PowerManager But after I reading the Android Docs, I still can't have an idea on it. Can you help me? Thx:)

• PHP upload with progress bar

  Hi all I want to create an upload form to upload large files. Thats pretty much easy, however, the upload process itself taks long and basically looks like nothing is happening for a few minutes. So now I'd like to insert a progress bar to show the user that something is happening and they should just sit tight. I've read of numerous methods like APC and certian flash plugins, but my site is hosted on a shared server and I cant install any new applications on it. I'm thinking, maybe if it is possible to read the size of the temp file it creates via an ajax page. By polling the size every few seconds I should be able to get the progress of the upload. Now the question I pose is...where is the temp file situated?

• Merging a custom ContextMenuStrip with the system edit context menu in a DataGridView

  I have a DataGridView in a VB.NET app that I have limited to cell selection only. The control has two columns, the first is not editable, the second is editable. I have a ContextMenuStrip that provides some additional functionality and I am able to make it appear when an editable cell receives a right click and is not in edit mode. Based on an example in a Microsoft forum, I am able to now show the context menu when an editable cell receives a right click while also in edit mode. • Ubuntu Eye-Infinity across 3 displays

  So I purchased a computer recently and have been trying to customise the display. Radeon 6800 series Ubuntu 10.10 I have three 22inch 1080P lcd monitors that are mounted together. Everything is working smooth. How do I get the 'big-desktop' display where I have one enormous display across all monitors? Linux - ATI Catalyst Control Center 11.2 does not give me an option to 'group' my profiles like the pictures on their site show with Windows. I have been searching all over for help.   When SHOW WARNINGS after a EXPLAIN EXTENDED shows a Note 1276 Field or reference 'test.foo.bar' of SELECT #2 was resolved in SELECT #1 what exactly does that mean and what impact does it have? In my case it prevents mysql from using what seems to be a perfectly good index. But it's not about fixing that specific query (as it is an irrelevant test). I found http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/error-messages-server.html butError: 1276 SQLSTATE: HY000 (ER_WARN_FIELD_RESOLVED) Message: Field or reference '%s%s%s%s%s' of SELECT #%d was resolved in SELECT #%d isn't much of an explaination.

• Python MySQLdb LOAD LOCAL INFILE problems

  The problem is a simple one. When I execute the following I get different results depending on whether I run it from the MySQL console and from inside a Python Script using MySQLdb: LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE '/tmp/source.csv' INTO TABLE test FIELDS TERMINATED BY '|' IGNORE 1 LINES; Console gives the following results: Records: 35002 Deleted: 0 Skipped: 0 Warnings: 0 Python (via .info()) returns the following: Records: 34977 Deleted: 0 Skipped: 0 Warnings: 8 So in summary, same source file, same SQL request, different results. From the console I can 'SHOW WARNINGS' an get a better handle on which records are causing the problems and why but from Python I can't idenitify how to do this or more importantly what the cause of the problem could be. Any suggestions? MySQL Server '5.1.41-3ubuntu12.1' Python '2.6.5' Tables are MyISAM

• Playing flash video with ASP.NET MVC

  What's a good flash player to use on an ASP.NET MVC site? The page I'm working on will need to display a number of videos on each page dynamically based on what the user searched for. I'd like each of the videos to show up as thumbnails that can be played, paused, and or enlarged to full screen. I've worked with the standard ASP.NET and used FlashControl.dll to accomplish this. Are there better ways than using a user control for MVC pages? Any tips on including video in webpages in general? Thanks in advance!

• In the java DBCP connection pool - what is an idle connection?

  A colleague at work insists that a DBCP idle connection is a connection that has lain unused for 30 minutes. I believe a dbcp idle connection is a connection that is in the pool available to be borrowed, and an active connection is one that is borrowed. Looking through the code I found no reference to 30 minutes or other magic values and a cursory glance through the code for assuring minidle does not show any such logic. If he is correct can you please back that up with a code or documentation reference. For the complete answer I would like it answered for both DBCP 1.1 and 1.6.

• Colors in Instruments when hunting down memory leaks

  Hi I'm currently hunting down a memory leak in my app for iPhone. I'm using Instruments to track down the code that is causing the leak (becoming more and more a friend of Instruments!). Now Instruments show two lines: one in dark blue (row 146) and one in a lighter blue (150). From some trial and error I get that they are connected somehow, but not good enough at Objective-C and Memory Management yet to really understand how. Does anyone know why different colors are used and what could be my problem? I have tried to release numberForArray but the the app crashes when showing the last line in a picker view. All ideas appreciated! (Posting this I also realize that line 139 is redundant! Se there, already an improvement ;-)

  Hello, I'm having some problems with the module urlrewriter.net for ASP.NET. I have a multilingual site with a URL like this; ~/home.aspx To support languages I use this rewrite rule; <rewrite url="~/de-DE/(.*)" to="~/$1"></rewrite> Then in my code I get the de-DE part and set the right culture for the current thread. All of this works well. After I login on the website I get a message "Hello, user x" to show i'm logged in. When navigating to another page, it doesn't display this message anymore and it seems like the page comes from the cache or something with the old (not logged in) data. Also, when I attach the debugger, nothing is executed for this request. If I visit the page like ~/home.aspx instead of ~/de-DE/home.aspx, does problem does not occur. What could be the problem here?   In a Delphi app intended to build an internet software update service for my software, the Windows 7 UAC system requests authorization from the user to run the exe.The following possible contentious/risk areas exist in the code: A named pipe server is created for communications TCP is used for FTP and HTTP SHGetSpecialFolderPath api call is used Before these items where added UAC did not activate, removing each in turn including all unit reference and then ending with the bare bones exe still causes the UAC event - so its not possible say what is causing it. On top of this Delphi 2007 now requires being launced as an administrator to launcg a debugging process for the app. Question 1 : How can I see what is causing this besides starting from scratch in a new exe - IOW is there a log somewhere I can check Question 2 : Will using a signed exe using authenticode still cause the UAC alert to show

  Hi. I search solution for ticket managment system. Do you know any commercial offers? For now I have only own dev prjects with using dspam library. Maybe I am wrong use it but it show bad results. My idea was divide all prerated ticket in 2 group: spam (it is my category) and rest to (ham - all not the same with this category). After that i trained my dspam. After I redivide all tickets in new groups (for next category) and teach dspam again (with new user - by category name)... And it works bad... My thoughs about is - bad data base tickes (i mean not correct tagging before) - bad my algorythm (it is more posible) Please give me a direction to go forward. Thanks. • Odd visual issue with ListView item layout with two pressable pieces

  I wanted to make a ListView where the items have two pressable pieces, like the layouts that show up in a couple of places in the stock Android phone/contacts application: I have the layout working fine, including handling events from each piece separately, except for a visual issue when the smaller piece is pressed. In my application the smaller piece only gets a small ellipse for the background when it is pressed, like this: Note that is actually not my application - that is NubDial, but my application has the same problem. Since NubDial uses the exact same XML layout as the phone app, I'm not sure how relevant the list item layouts are, but here they are anyway: Contacts list: contacts_list_item.xml NubDial: contacts_list_item.xml Does anybody know what might be happening there?

  Hey Guys, I'm trying to do a basic line graph here, but I can't seem to figure out how to adjust my x axis. • Visual Studio 2010 + ReSharper Not Working

  I've installed ReSharper 5 on two installations of Visual Studio 2010 Professional. In both cases, ReSharper claims it has installed successfully - but Visual Studio doesn't recognize the extension. It doesn't show up in the Extensions Manager, doesn't appear in Help - About - Installed products, and can't be found anywhere else in the environment. I've tried install / uninstall of both Visual Studio and ReSharper, computer restarts, etc. Both machines have Visual Studio 2008 and ReSharper 5 works fine in these IDEs, and both machines are running Windows 7. I've found other people online with this issue, but no solutions. Anyone know how to fix this?

• iPad Video Playback only delivers audio, not visuals.

  Hi guys, Recently we've developed an iPhone app for an external company, and everything works fine in the app. There is a section where the app pulls video from the client's server, and streams it into the iPhone's MPMoviePlayerController. This works fine on the iPhone and iPodTouch - both the video and the audio show up just great. The problem, however, is that when the app is run on an iPad (using the iPad's iPhone simulator thingo that it does) only the audio plays, and no video can be seen. Does anybody have any suggestions about what may be causing this? I thought perhaps it was the encoding, but then why would this prevent the video from playing on the iPad, and not the iPhone?

• Compact Framework - ListView like control ?

  Hello. I have been playing with Compact Framework lately and i need some advice. I have a collection of items. One of the properties on each item is a string type that holds XML. This XML defines image, font, style etc... Im looking for a control (similar to listView) that would replace listBox control. Im not satisfied with listView control, because it is very limited on items level. The control has to be dynamic enough so that my parser could parse the XML and customise the control. For a start i would like to show an image and perhaps some font styles for each row in the control. Here is a sample what im trying to achieve: Any suggestions?

• css file not getting updated

  the font of the content of my facebook app keeps getting italicized even when i've removed the italics from the css file. if i make minor changes in the css file and upload it to the server, the firebug shows the unedited previous css file and hence, the app keeps showing unformatted content. what exactly is going wrong here? i made a new css file and copied the contents of the previous css exactly as it was, and i linked it in all the files which require css. but when i upload these files to the server, facebook canvas doesn't show any css at all. i replaced the css filename with the previous one, and it works. why is this?

  In my Windows Mobile .NET application I have a simple array of object with the data I want to display in my DataGrid. To do this, I simply call: myDataGrid.DataSource = myArray; This works, but I have a problem with it: it uses all properties as columns and uses the names of the properties as the column headers. I can't figure out how to customize two things: Select which subset of properties should be displayed as columns (say I have an ID, Name and Value property, I'd only want to show Name and Value); Rename the column headers to make more sense (for example if the property is called ID display a column header saying "Number"). Is this possible at all? As mentioned this is in a Windows Mobile .NET (version 2) application.

  Generally, when we want to show the contents of some web page in the same page, we go for ajax requests. If say, I request to a web page in different domain with AJAX, it is not allowed because of the Cross side scripting error. But why is it allowed to access via a server side page. For e.g. we can use CURL in php to access any site.? Why is this feature OK for server side scripting and NOT OK for Client Side Scripting?

  I've a controller :platform here. I'm trying to do something like: /:platform_name/ to redirect to its show, with the parameter. Here is what I've got: map.resource :platform, :as => ':platform_name', :platform_name => /pc|ps2|ps3|wii|ds|psp|xbox-360/ It's working fine. I've other neasted resources to it, and all them are accessing. But. The problem is, I've only those platform names, but when it doesnt fine another route, it aways fall on this. if I try /whatever/, it will look for the *platform_name = whatever*. I was expecting it to fall into the map.connect ':controller/:action/:id' rule. When I did *:platform_name = /pc|ps2|ps3|wii|ds|psp|xbox-360/*, wasnt expected that this rule only apply when the regular expression is fit? how could i restrict this?
