  • Java For-Each Loop to Deal to multiple Hands

    - by qwertyRocker
    I'm trying to find a good way to 'deal' cards to 4 difference hands. System.out.println("Deal to 4 Hands: "); Hand hand1 = new Hand(); Hand hand2 = new Hand(); Hand hand3 = new Hand(); Hand hand4 = new Hand(); hand1.addSingleCard(Deck.deal()); hand2.addSingleCard(Deck.deal()); hand3.addSingleCard(Deck.deal()); hand4.addSingleCard(Deck.deal()); hand1.addSingleCard(Deck.deal()); hand2.addSingleCard(Deck.deal()); hand3.addSingleCard(Deck.deal()); hand4.addSingleCard(Deck.deal()); System.out.println("Cards left in deck: " + Deck.size()); System.out.println("Player 1's Hand: \n" + hand1.getHand()); System.out.println("Player 2's Hand: \n" + hand2.getHand()); System.out.println("Player 3's Hand: \n" + hand3.getHand()); System.out.println("Player 4's Hand: \n" + hand4.getHand()); Is there an easier way to deal to hands? For example using a For-Each loop? I tried this: but it doesn't work. I haven't really used this type of loop very must... for(Hand card : hand1){ System.out.println("Player 1's Hand: \n" + hand1); } By the way, this deals 2 cards to 4 difference hands, then prints each hand.

  • Python GUI does not update until entire process is finished

    - by ccwhite1
    I have a process that gets a files from a directory and puts them in a list. It then iterates that list in a loop. The last line of the loop being where it should update my gui display, then it begins the loop again with the next item in the list. My problem is that it does not actually update the gui until the entire process is complete, which depending on the size of the list could be 30 seconds to over a minute. This gives the feeling of the program being 'hung' What I wanted it to do was to process one line in the list, update the gui and then continue. Where did I go wrong? The line to update the list is # Populate listview with drive contents. The print statements are just for debug. def populateList(self): print "populateList" sSource = self.txSource.Value sDest = self.txDest.Value # re-intialize listview and validated list self.listView1.DeleteAllItems() self.validatedMove = None self.validatedMove = [] #Create list of files listOfFiles = getList(sSource) #prompt if no files detected if listOfFiles == []: self.lvActions.Append([datetime.datetime.now(),"Parse Source for .MP3 files","No .MP3 files in source directory"]) #Populate list after both Source and Dest are chosen if len(sDest) > 1 and len(sDest) > 1: print "-iterate listOfFiles" for file in listOfFiles: sFilename = os.path.basename(file) sTitle = getTitle(file) sArtist = getArtist(file) sAlbum = getAblum(file) # Make path = sDest + Artist + Album sDestDir = os.path.join (sDest, sArtist) sDestDir = os.path.join (sDestDir, sAlbum) #If file exists change destination to *.copyX.mp3 sDestDir = self.defineDestFilename(os.path.join(sDestDir,sFilename)) # Populate listview with drive contents self.listView1.Append([sFilename,sTitle,sArtist,sAlbum,sDestDir]) #populate list to later use in move command self.validatedMove.append([file,sDestDir]) print "-item added to SourceDest list" else: print "-list not iterated"

  • Manipulating / Resizing / Scaling an image in vb.net

    - by Christian Payne
    Imagine I have a rectangle say 400px x 300px. Then let’s say I want to load an image in that. All of this is very easy using Sytem.Drawing.DrawImage. But then I want to leave the left hand side as 300px but change the right hand side to 250 px. I can draw the box using 4 DrawLines but I don’t know how to squash the image into the new shape. I want the right hand side of the shape to be 250, the left size 300 and the top and bottom 400px. I can’t use DrawImage as it expects the left and right sizes to be the same. Is there a way to manipulate the image into the new shape? I've looked at other questions, but they only apply where the left and right hand side is equal. Any thoughts on how to squash an image into a shape which did not have parallel sides? (If it helps, I'm happy to sacrifice image quality to fit the right shape.)

  • Create PDF from HTML page with formatting retained in PDF in ASP.Net

    - by Vishal Avhad
    I am trying to convert an HTML page to a PDF using iTextSharp.dll in ASP.Net. I am able to convert the contents to my PDF , but the problem is that the Formatting of HTML page (which is inline) get removed from my PDF created. For instance I have the following code block to be formatted from my HTML page to PDF. <table style="width:90%; float:left; background:#dddddd; padding:15px; border:1px solid #000; color:#000;"><tr><td style="text-transform:uppercase; font-size:14px;font-weight:bold;">SPECIAL DELIVERY FOR:</td></tr><tr><td style="padding-left:40px; font-size:12px; color:#4e4e4e;">Name: #CustomerName# <br /><br /><label> <b>Date: #CreatedOn# </b></label><br /> </td></tr> </table> I have to format my PDF with much more HTML codes like this. I have used the Stylesheet class also, but that was not much of help.

  • CSS ] how to automatically resize the wrapper div.

    - by Phrixus
    Hi, I've been struggling with this problem.. There is a wrapper div and it contains 3 vertical column divs with full of texts, and this wrapper div has red background color so that it can be a background of the entire texts. <div id="content_wrapper"> <div id="cside_a"> // massive texts goes here </div> ... // two more columns go here. </div> And here is the CSS code for them. #content_wrapper { background-color:#DB0A00; background-repeat:no-repeat; min-height:400px; } #cside_a, #cside_b, #cside_c { float: left; width: 33%; } And this code gives me a background that covers only 400px height box.. My expectation was the wrapper div automatically resizes depending on the size of the divs in it. Somehow putting "overflow:hidden" with wrapper CSS code makes everything work fine. I have no idea why "overflow:hidden" works.. shouldn't this hide all the overflowed texts..? Could anyone explain me why? Is is the correct way to do it anyway?

  • Printing to different printers using mozilla.

    - by Nick-ACNB
    I am currently creating a web application that will be deployed in an intranet environment. I chose firefox to be the browser that will run it. However, in the application I am building, I need to be able to print to different printers quickly since they use different paper size depending on what client is coming. To avoid many time-wasting mistakes that could occur, for instance someone choosing the wrong printer and wasting paper. Also, the time used to find the right printer for the job and then pressing print is considered too long in the current context. Is there any solution to this problem? I understand the potential security flaw behind this, but please be aware that this is solely an intranet project and that I can reduce the browser's security to the lowest since they don't access internet. I know there could be something doable behind IE (ActiveX or VBScript) but I am using firefox. Also, I guess there could also be something rather tricky that when you press print on the browser, it saves what needs to be printed to a DB and then there is an exe app that runs and fetch that DB every set ammount of time and print to the right printer. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I doubt I am the only one to ever face this issue! :) Thank you very much.

  • Designing a silverlight dashboard with mef - is it possible? (with dynamic loading of xaps)

    - by Tim Robbin
    Hello! I am just trying to wrap my head around MEF. And as I am really going to love it ( I guess ) I started my first sample project and immediatly stumbled into a big problem and now I am asking myself if I can use MEF for my scenario at all and that is the following: Imagine that one got some kind of dashboard with, let's say, five regions and above each region there are two comboboxes. The values in the first combobox represent different possible views (for example, chartControl, tableControl, pictureControl, ...) and the values of the second combobox represents the different data sources for the currently selected control. As the controls are very big in size one wants to download them as needed. If the user selects one comboboxitem the corresponding control xap should be loaded and displayed in this specific region. If the user selectes another control in the same combobox the control should be removed from the visualtree and the next control should be downloaded and displayed. If the user changes the selection in a different combobox the corresponding control should be loaded again only in this specific region, with perhaps different data. And to make it a little more interesting - as this is some kind of dashboard one can change the layout from five regions to - for example - ten regions. I've seen the video "MVVM with MEF in Silverlight Video Tutorial Part 2: Plugins and Metadata" ( http://csharperimage.jeremylikness.com/2010/03/mvvm-with-mef-in-silverlight-video_09.html ) but he is using an ItemsControl and is working with Visibility and he only got ONE region. So I think that this technique is not working for me... Puh, I hope I could make myself clear! Thanks a lot for any piece of information!!! Greetings, Tim.

  • Why is my UIWebView not scrollable?

    - by Thomas
    In my most frustrating roadblock to date, I've come across a UIWebView that will NOT scroll! I call it via this IBAction: -(IBAction)session2ButtonPressed:(id)sender { Session2ViewController *session2View = [[Session2ViewController alloc]initWithNibName:@"Session2ViewController" bundle:nil]; self.addictionViewController = session2View; [self.view insertSubview:addictionViewController.view atIndex:[self.view.subviews count]]; [session2View release]; } In the viewDidLoad of Session2ViewController.m, I have - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // TRP - Grab data from plist // TRP - Build file path to the plist NSString *filePath = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"Addiction" ofType:@"plist"]; // TRP - Create NSDictionary with contents of the plist NSDictionary *addictionDict = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithContentsOfFile:filePath]; // TRP - Create an array with contents of the dictionary NSArray *addictionData = [addictionDict objectForKey:@"Addiction1"]; NSLog(@"addictionData (array): %@", addictionData); // TRP - Create a string with the contents of the array NSString *addictionText = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"<DIV style='font-family:%@;font-size:%d;'>%@</DIV>", @"Helvetica", 18, [addictionData objectAtIndex:1]]; addictionInfo.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; // TRP - Load the string created and stored into addictionText and display in the UIWebView [addictionInfo loadHTMLString:addictionText baseURL:nil]; // TODO: MAKE THIS WEBVIEW SCROLL!!!!!! } In the nib, I connected my web view to the delegate and to the outlet. When I run my main project, the plist with my HTML code shows up, but does not scroll. I copied and pasted this code into a new project, wired the nib the exact same way, and badda-boom badda-bing. . . it works. I even tried to create a new nib from scratch in this project, and the exact same code would not work. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Any ideas?? Thanks! Thomas

  • Recycle Freed Objects

    - by uray
    suppose I need to allocate and delete object on heap frequently (of arbitrary size), is there any performance benefit if instead of deleting those objects, I will return it back to some "pool" to be reused later? would it give benefit by reduce heap allocation/deallocation?, or it will be slower compared to memory allocator performance, since the "pool" need to manage a dynamic collection of pointers. my use case: suppose I create a queue container based on linked list, and each node of that list are allocated on the heap, so every call to push() and pop() will allocate and deallocate that node: ` template <typename T> struct QueueNode { QueueNode<T>* next; T object; } template <typename T> class Queue { void push(T object) { QueueNode<T>* newNode = QueueNodePool<T>::get(); //get recycled node if(!newNode) { newNode = new QueueNode<T>(object); } // push newNode routine here.. } T pop() { //pop routine here... QueueNodePool<T>::store(unusedNode); //recycle node return unusedNode->object; } } `

  • PHP Thumbnail Image Resizing with proportions

    - by Sam
    Hi all. As a brief run down, I am currently making a dating type site. Users can create accounts and upload profile pictures (up to 8). In order to display these in the browse area of the website, I am looking for a way in PHP (with third party processor/scripts) to resize all images uploaded to have thumbnails that adhere to certain dimensions. As an example, I will want "profile" images (thumbnails) to be NO larger than 120*150px. The scripting needs to resize uploaded images (regardless of whether they are portrait or landscape, and regardless of proportions) to adhere to these dimensions without getting stretched. The width (eg. 120pixels) should always remain the same, but the height (eg. 150px) can vary in order to keep the image in proportion. If it's a landscape photo, I'm assuming the script would need to take a chunk out of the middle of the image? The reason that all images to be resized is so that when profiles are display in a grid that all thumbnails are roughly the same size. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    I have this form submit code: Event.observe(window, 'load', init, false); function init() { Event.observe('addressForm', 'submit', storeAddress); } function storeAddress(e) { $('response').innerHTML = 'Adding email address...'; var pars = 'address=' + escape($F('address')); var myAjax = new Ajax.Updater('response', 'ajaxServer.php', {method: 'get', parameters: pars}); Event.stop(e); } How can I change it to work with jQuery? Here is the html form: <form id="addressForm" action="index.php" method="get"> <b>Email:</b> <input type="text" name="address" id="address" size="25"><br> <input name="Submit" value="Submit" type="submit" /> <p id="response"><?php echo(storeAddress()); ?></p> </form> and this is php code at start of document: <?php require_once("inc/storeAddress.php"); ?>

  • UITableView with dynamic cell heights -- what do I need to do to fix scrolling down?

    - by Ian Terrell
    I am building a teensy tiny little Twitter client on the iPhone. Naturally, I'm displaying the tweets in a UITableView, and they are of course of varying lengths. I'm dynamically changing the height of the cell based on the text quite fine: - (CGFloat)heightForTweetCellWithString:(NSString *)text { CGFloat height = Buffer + [text sizeWithFont:Font constrainedToSize:Size lineBreakMode:LineBreakMode].height; return MAX(height, MinHeight); } - (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSString *text = // get tweet text for this indexpath return [self heightForTweetCellWithString:text]; } } I'm displaying the actual tweet cell using the algorithm in the PragProg book: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"TweetCell"; TweetCell *cell = (TweetCell *)[tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [self createNewTweetCellFromNib]; } cell.tweet.text = // tweet text // set other labels, etc return cell; } When I boot up, all the tweets visible display just fine. However, when I scroll down, the tweets below are quite mussed up -- it appears that once a cell has scrolled off the screen, the cell height for the one above it gets resized to be larger than it should be, and obscures part of the cell below it. When the cell reaches the top of the view, it resets itself and renders properly. Scrolling up presents no difficulties. Here is a video that shows this in action: http://screencast.com/t/rqwD9tpdltd I've tried quite a bit already: resizing the cell's frame on creation, using different identifiers for cells with different heights (i.e. [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Identifier%d", rowHeight]), changing properties in Interface Builder... If there are additional code snippets I can post, please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help!

  • how to make war file take up less memory

    - by Myy
    I need help on how to decrease the memory usage of my web app. so I can fit more into my webserver. so I'm building a java web app with JSF 2.0 developing in eclipse helios and running on an Apache tomcat Server. And I have a dedicated virtual server with a tomcat aswell where I deploy these war files. the webApp is about 35MB in size ( it has a lot of jars and such) but when I deploy it to my tomcat webserver, I can see it takes about 300MB of RAM, is this normal? my dedicated server only has 2GB of ram from which normally have 1 to use. so I as soon as I deploy 3 apps I get an OOM error, I've gotten permgen OOM and a out of swamp Memory error; to fix this I upped my MaxPermGen to about a gig and resytarted the server to get back some swamp space. so I tried deploying smaller older apps ( about 15MB) and they take up waay less memory. If I have 1 GB of ram I want to be able to fit more apps into my webserver without getting any OOM Errors. now I found this stack overflow Question, Can that be applied to my case? and if so, which are the common folders in the tomcat server? anyone done this before or have a different more effective, not so complicated approach? Any ideas, and or commets are more than appreciated. Thanks! Myy

  • Letter spacing issue with 'overlapping' character

    - by Wesz-T
    I'm having some trouble with a font I found on Google Web Fonts. As you can see in the image posted below, the capital V in 'Versus' overlaps with the 'e' when i'm using Firefox. Though when i'm using Chrome (or IE) it does not overlap and leaves me with an ugly space between the two characters. Is there any way to fix this and make it look like the one in Firefox? Or should I start looking for another font? My HTML: <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8"> <title>Versus</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/reset.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/style.css" /> <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Marck+Script' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'> </head> <body> <div> <h1>Versus</h1> </div> </body> My CSS: h1 { font-family: 'Marck Script', cursive; font-size: 100px; color:#444; text-align:center; padding:0 50px; text-shadow: 2px 2px 3px #777; } Thanks in advance!

  • How-to display a .gif as background image?

    - by Vito De Tullio
    Hi! I have a javascript "loading" function like this: function splashScreen() { var div = document.createElement('div'); div.appendChild(document.createTextNode("some text")); div.setAttribute("style", "position: fixed; " + "width: 100%; height: 100%; " + "left: 0; top: 0; " + "z-index: 1000; " + "background: #fff url('img/loading.gif') no-repeat center; " + "font-size: x-large; " + "text-align: center; " + "line-height: 3em; " + "opacity: 0.75; " + "filter: alpha(opacity=75); "); document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].appendChild(div); return true; } I use this function in the form action (onsubmit="return splashScreen()") to show a "rotating logo" while the next page load... The problem is in that "img/loading.gif" and safari (on winXP): in ff and ie I have no problems, and I clearly see the animated gif. In safari I can't see it. If I change the image with a (obviously static) png the image appears... Am I doing something wrong? What's the problem with safari?

  • Condensing repeating JQuery code

    - by Craig Ward
    I have a page that has a large image on it with a number of thumbnails. When you mouse over a thumbnail the main image changes to the image you have just rolled your mouse over. The problem is the more thumbnails I have, the more repeated code I have. How could I reduce it? The Jquery code is as follows. <script type="text/javascript"> $('#thumb1') .mouseover(function(){ $('#big_img').fadeOut('slow', function(){ $('#big_img').attr('src', '0001.jpg'); $('#big_img').fadeIn('slow'); }); }); $('#thumb2') .mouseover(function(){ $('#big_img').fadeOut('slow', function(){ $('#big_img').attr('src', 'p_0002.jpg'); $('#big_img').fadeIn('slow'); }); }); $('#thumb3') .mouseover(function(){ $('#big_img').fadeOut('slow', function(){ $('#big_img').attr('src', '_img/p_0003.jpg'); $('#big_img').fadeIn('slow'); }); }); $('#thumb4') .mouseover(function(){ $('#big_img').fadeOut('slow', function(){ $('#big_img').attr('src', '0004.jpg'); $('#big_img').fadeIn('slow'); }); }); </script> #big_img = the ID of the full size image #thumb1, #thumb2, #thumb3, #thumb4 = The ID's of the thumbnails The main code for the page is PHP if that helps.

  • Is there a safe / standard way to manage unstructured memory in C++?

    - by andand
    I'm building a toy VM that requires a block of memory for storing and accessing data elements of different types and of different sizes. I've done this by writing a wrapper class around a uint8_t[] data block of the needed size. That class has some template methods to write / read typed data elements to / from arbitrary locations in the memory block, both of which check to make certain the bounds aren't violated. These methods use memmove in what I hope is a more or less safe manner. That said, while I am willing to press on in this direction, I've got to believe that other with more expertise have been here before and might be willing to share their wisdom. In particular: 1) Is there a class in one of the C++ standards (past, present, future) that has been defined to perform a function similar to what I have outlined above? 2) If not, is there a (preferably free as in beer) library out there that does? 3) Short of that, besides bounds checking and the inevitable issue of writing one type to a memory location and reading a different from that location, are there other issues I should be aware of? Thanks.-&&

  • How can you make the copyright text in a Google Map wrap when the map is small?

    - by Paul D. Waite
    When you embed a Google Map on a web page, copyright text is included on the map. This is the HTML: <div style="border-top: 10px solid rgb(204, 0, 0); -moz-user-select: none; z-index: 0; position: absolute; right: 3px; bottom: 2px; color: black; font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; white-space: normal; text-align: right; margin-left: 70px; width: 210px;" dir="ltr"> <span></span> <span>Map data &copy;2010 LeadDog Consulting, Europa Technologies - </span> <a href="http://www.google.com/intl/en_ALL/help/terms_maps.html" target="_blank" class="gmnoprint terms-of-use-link" style="color: rgb(119, 119, 204);">Terms of Use</a> <span></span> </div> If you embed a map with a small width, the copyright text extends outside of the <div>, instead of wrapping within it. I’ve tried using jQuery to select this HTML based on its contents (using :contains()), but it doesn’t seem to work in IE 8 (which is odd, as it works fine in IE 7). Any idea what’s up with IE 8? Any other methods to achieve the same result?

  • Using the contents of an array to set individual pixels in a Quartz bitmap context

    - by Magic Bullet Dave
    I have an array that contains the RGB colour values for each pixel in a 320 x 180 display. I would like to be able to set individual pixel values in the a bitmap context of the same size offscreen then display the bitmap context in a view. It appears that I have to create 1x1 rects and either put a stroke on them or a line of length 1 at the point in question. Is that correct? I'm looking for a very efficient way of getting the array data onto the graphics context as you can imagine this is going to be an image buffer that cycles at 25 frames per second and drawing in this way seems inefficient. I guess the other question is should I use OPENGL ES instead? Thoughts/best practice would be much appreciated. Regards Dave OK, have come a short way, but can't make the final hurdle and I am not sure why this isn't working: - (void) displayContentsOfArray1UsingBitmap: (CGContextRef)context { long bitmapData[WIDTH * HEIGHT]; // Build bitmap int i, j, h; for (i = 0; i < WIDTH; i++) { for (j = 0; j < HEIGHT; j++) { h = frameBuffer01[i][j]; bitmapData[i * j] = h; } } // Blit the bitmap to the context CGDataProviderRef providerRef = CGDataProviderCreateWithData(NULL, bitmapData,4 * WIDTH * HEIGHT, NULL); CGColorSpaceRef colorSpaceRef = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceRGB(); CGImageRef imageRef = CGImageCreate(WIDTH, HEIGHT, 8, 32, WIDTH * 4, colorSpaceRef, kCGImageAlphaFirst, providerRef, NULL, YES, kCGRenderingIntentDefault); CGContextDrawImage(context, CGRectMake(0.0, HEIGHT, WIDTH, HEIGHT), imageRef); CGImageRelease(imageRef); CGColorSpaceRelease(colorSpaceRef); CGDataProviderRelease(providerRef); }

  • Is nested synchronized block necessary?

    - by Dan
    I am writing a multithreaded program and I have a method that has a nested synchronized blocks and I was wondering if I need the inner sync or if just the outer sync is good enough. public class Tester { private BlockingQueue<Ticket> q = new LinkedBlockingQueue<>(); private ArrayList<Long> list = new ArrayList<>(); public void acceptTicket(Ticket p) { try { synchronized (q) { q.put(p); synchronized (list) { if (list.size() < 5) { list.add(p.getSize()); } else { list.remove(0); list.add(p.getSize()); } } } } catch (InterruptedException ex) { Logger.getLogger(Consumer.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); } } } EDIT: This isn't a complete class as I am still working on it. But essentially I am trying to emulate a ticket machine. The ticket machine maintains a list of tickets in the BlockingQueue q. Whenever a client adds a ticket to the machine, the machine also keeps track of the price of the last 5 tickets (ArrayList list)

  • 1k of Program Space, 64 bytes of RAM. Is 1 wire communication possible?

    - by Earlz
    (If your lazy see bottom for TL;DR) Hello, I am planning to build a new (prototype) project dealing with physical computing. Basically, I have wires. These wires all need to have their voltage read at the same time. More than a few hundred microseconds difference between the readings of each wire will completely screw it up. The Arduino takes about 114 microseconds. So the most I could read is 2 or 3 wires before the latency would skew the accuracy of the readings. So my plan is to have an Arduino as the "master" of an array of ATTinys. The arduino is pretty cramped for space, but it's a massive playground compared to the tinys. An ATTiny13A has 1k of flash ROM(program space), 64 bytes of RAM, and 64 bytes of (not-durable and slow) EEPROM. (I'm choosing this for price as well as size) The ATTinys in my system will not do much. Basically, all they will do is wait for a signal from the Master, and then read the voltage of 1 or 2 wires and store it in RAM(or possibly EEPROM if it's that cramped). And then send it to the Master using only 1 wire for data.(no room for more than that!). So far then, all I should have to do is implement trivial voltage reading code (using built in ADC). But this communication bit I'm worried about. Do you think a communication protocol(using just 1 wire!) could even be implemented in such constraints? TL;DR: In less than 1k of program space and 64 bytes of RAM(and 64 bytes of EEPROM) do you think it is possible to implement a 1 wire communication protocol? Would I need to drop to assembly to make it fit? I know that currently my Arduino programs linking to the Wiring library are over 8k, so I'm a bit concerned.

  • ASP.NET Response Filter to Reformat the rendered output of ASPX pages?

    - by PropellerHead
    I've created a simple HttpModule and response stream to reformat the rendered output of web pages (see code snippets below). In the HttpModule I set the Response.Filter to my PageStream: m_Application.Context.Response.Filter = new PageStream(m_Application.Context); In the PageStream I overwrite the Write method in order to do my reformatting of the rendered output: public override void Write(byte[] buffer, int offset, int count) { string html = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetString(buffer); //Do some string resplace operations here... byte[] input = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(html); m_DefaultStream.Write(input, 0, input.Length); } And this work fine when using it on simple HTML pages (.html), but when I use this method on ASPX pages (.aspx), the Write method is called several times, splitting up the reformatting into different steps, and potentially destroying the string replacement operations. How do I solve this? Is there a way to let the ASPX page NOT call Write several times, e.g. by changing its buffer size, or have I chosen the wrong approach entirely, by using this Response.Filter method to manipulate the rendered output?

  • DisplayObject snapshot in flex 3

    - by simplemagik
    i'm creating a visual editor in flex and need to let users export thier projects into Image format. But i have one problem: size of the canvas is fixed and when user add element which is out of these sizes some scroll bars added. And user continue working on the project. but when he want to take snapshot of the canvas he just get the visible part ot the canvas with scrollbars. how to get image of the fullsize canvas? The only solution i found is to check the positions and sizes of canvas child objects and rezise it to fit them. then take snap and resize back. But it hmmmm... too complicated i think. Is there some "easy methods"? <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="vertical"> <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.graphics.ImageSnapshot; private function SnapshotButtonHandler():void { var snapshot:ImageSnapshot = ImageSnapshot.captureImage(AppCanvas); var file:FileReference = new FileReference(); file.save(snapshot.data, "canvas.png"); } ]]> </mx:Script> <mx:Canvas id="AppCanvas" width="800" height="300" backgroundColor="0xFFFFFF"> <mx:Box x="750" y="100" width="100" height="100" backgroundColor="0xCCCCCC" /> </mx:Canvas> <mx:Button id="SnapshotButton" label="take snapshot" click="SnapshotButtonHandler()" /> </mx:Application>

  • Image resizing - sometimes very poor quality?!

    - by eWolf
    I'm resizing some images to the screen resolution of the user; if the aspect ratio is wrong, the image should be cut. My code looks like this: protected void ConvertToBitmap(string filename) { var origImg = System.Drawing.Image.FromFile(filename); var widthDivisor = (double)origImg.Width / (double)System.Windows.Forms.Screen.PrimaryScreen.Bounds.Width; var heightDivisor = (double)origImg.Height / (double)System.Windows.Forms.Screen.PrimaryScreen.Bounds.Height; int newWidth, newHeight; if (widthDivisor < heightDivisor) { newWidth = (int)((double)origImg.Width / widthDivisor); newHeight = (int)((double)origImg.Height / widthDivisor); } else { newWidth = (int)((double)origImg.Width / heightDivisor); newHeight = (int)((double)origImg.Height / heightDivisor); } var newImg = origImg.GetThumbnailImage(newWidth, newHeight, null, IntPtr.Zero); newImg.Save(this.GetBitmapPath(filename), System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Bmp); } In most cases, this works fine. But for some images, the result has an extremely poor quality. It looks like the would have been resized to something very small (thumbnail size) and enlarged again.. But the resolution of the image is correct. What can I do? Example orig image: Example resized image: Note: I have a WPF application but I use the WinForms function for resizing because it's easier and because I already need a reference to System.Windows.Forms for a tray icon.
