I ended up writing my own function to do this. Edit - I made a mistake and used a colon instead of a comma in the format specifier. Should be "{0,20}". I want to find something like the shopping cart at the apple store, it's a div thats not positioned absolute nor fixed, for instance, let's say it's at the center of the screen, and only when you scroll down it follows the scroll only to not disappear, when it reaches the border of the browser header...   • Resize videos with different widths to a fixed height preserving aspect ratio with ffmpeg

    I'd like to convert a lot of video files to flash video for our company's website. I have a requirement that all of the videos must be in 360p format, so their size would be Nx360. FFMpeg uses -s argument to specify target resolution as WxH. I don't know Width, as it depends on source file aspect ratio. If source is 640x480, target will be 480x360. If source is 848x480, target will be 636x360. Is there a way to do it with some switch of ffmpeg? That it will preserve aspect ratio and I'll only specify the height of target video? I could easily solve it by making a program that will launch ffprobe to get source video size, calculate aspect ratio and then calculate a new width.

    I have an Oracle 11g server that's used for PHP development. Recently, I had a problem logging into the Enterprise Manager due to expired passwords. I've already changed settings so passwords no longer expire and I've unlocked all users. However, the user manager shows most built-in users as expired. How can I fix that? (If I just set a password for each expired account I guess that whatever services are using it will no longer be able to log in.)

  • My computer keeps crashing and I just want it FIXED

    So long story short, I had my brother build me a computer for my birthday last year. I saw how good his was (also built by him) so I decided I would have him build me one. About a month after this was all finished, my computer started crashing when I when run over 3 programs. For example, an online game, a music player (spotify), skype, and a browser with a few tabs open. The way it would crash is the screen will freeze and a buzzing noise will come from whatever audio device I am using (headset, speakers) I took it to a computer tech guy and he told me my cooling system was inadequate. SOOO he led me to buy a CORSAIR H75 Liquid cooling system. Everything was good for about a week, and now it just did the same thing again. I am so freaking over this guys and I really need some help figuring out what the heck is wrong, I dont care how long it takes, just please help me.

    As an avid user of todo apps (currently Asana) is very much miss a way to easily forward an email from Postbox to my GTD app. Currently the workflow is: Click cmd/L to open the forward email window Type [email protected] in the To: address field Click the send button in the forward email window What I would like to have is an automator or applescript that does that for me. Ex: Highligh/select the mail I wish to convert to a task in Asana and the type a shortcut like ctrl/cmd/L to forward the mail to Asana. As most todo apps have custom email addresses you can use to convert an email into a task, the only thing that needs to be changed is the email address in the script. For Asana this would not be necessary because the email address for converting an email into a taks is the same for all Asana users.

    Using the Windows hosts file, one can redirect traffic for a domain to a specific IP address, e.g. domainA.com -- 127.0.0.1 I am looking for a SIMPLE way to do the same, but for a target domain name not for a target IP address (as this is dynamic), I.e. domainA.com -- domainB.com Addition: After the getting some initial answers I think I need to concretise my question. Situation: I have an application which looks up the IP of the target domain via DNS and then connects via HTTP to the IP address. I do not have control over any proxy settings. Option 1 Basically I am looking for a way to: intercept DNS requests for a domainA.com launch a DNS request for a domainB.com serve the IP of domainB.com in response to the request for domainA.com Without running an entire DNS server. Option 2 If a DNS server is the only way, in the alternative I would also be happy with an solution to how to define a non-standard DNS-server for a single application. Any ideas for wrapper applications, etc?

  • Fixed Resource Monitor Graph Scale in Windows Server 2008 R2

    In Windows Server 2008 R2's Resource Monitor, is there a way to set the scale of the various graphs to be constant values instead of variable based on data? It seems to me that the utility of a graph is to get a quick overview glance at the values those graphs are showing. So if I look at the CPU graph and the line is up near the top, I can know immediately that something is using all my CPU and go investigate what. I don't really care if the CPU is jumping between .01% and 2%. Or if the network usage monitor is up near the top, I will know that all my bandwidth is being used up, and go figure out what. But the way things are now, the graphs are meaningless because the scales constantly shift. If you look at the network usage graph in one second it might have a scale out of 100kbps, and the next second have a scale based on 1mbps! So... is there a registry key or something that will peg the scale of these graphs to logical maximums?

  • Fixed ruby/mysql connection with new libmysql.dll, and broke Apache in the process

    Ok so bit of background - all my development has been on a local Windows 7 machine. I had Apache with PHP/MySQL running with no issues. Been using ruby (1.9.3 and latest rails release 3.2.9) with built in webrick server, but had a devil of a time connecting to mysql. Did some research, updated my libmysql.dll file in c:/ruby/bin and it worked! Very happy... except now Apache stopped working. In my attempt to resolve the issue I found an older copy of libmysql.dll, renamed the new file, copied the old file back to c:ruby/bin and apache works, ruby does not. So I can take this ass backwards approach but obviously this seems pretty stupid. I was surprised that Apache was using the dll file in ruby/bin folder. I presume this is related to path variables perhaps? I guess I was hoping someone could direct me as to how I can use one dll file for apache and another for ruby. Or if you have some other smarter approach - I've smart enough to follow directions to install apache from scratch and enable php on windows as well as ubuntu, but I'm not much of a sys admin, just a semi competent web developer.

    I am a web developer and until recently I have been using ubuntu as my OS. For many reasons, I have switched back to windows. I still want to keep my server on linux platform, so I setup my local server as a virtual machine. Everything works great, but i have a little struggle with the networking. Since I am working in different places and going around clients, I connect to all sorts of network with different settings. That means the possible IP range is very dynamic which causes issues when I work on my local server. At the moment I have a dynamic IP on my host and static IP on my guest. That way I can access the server from my host (by adding record to hosts file). I also have internet connection on the guest. But once i change networks, it does not work (assuming the network has different configuration). My question is, how to setup host-guest networking, so no matter what network I connect to, I can keep my static IP on guest, which is registered in hosts file on my host so I can access the webserver and also I will have internet connection on the guest?     I store my music on an external hard drive, and play them with foobar2k. However, the drive letter changes, which usually means I need to rebuild a fairly large playlist every so often. I'm wondering if there's a way to reserve a drive letter for a specific external device (or type of device) by device ID or volume name, or if I'm better off using a NTFS mount point, and re-mounting the drive to a folder each time. I'm using either a Windows XP or 7 system, and the external drive is NTFS.

  • Make taskbar buttons fixed on Windows 7

    Sometimes the application buttons on the Windows 7 taskbar change position by themselves. For example, if I have two windows of the same application opened, the first opened window should be the first button on the taskbar (to the left of the other) and the second opened window should be the second button on the taskbar (to the right of the other), but they switch places sometimes. I don't like this. How can I fix / configure this not to get rearranged? I am not using Aero, and the buttons of the same application are not grouped under a single button. !

  • Cordova - Scrolling with a fixed header and footer (ios)

    Using Cordova (phonegap) & bootstrap to make a mobile application, testing on IOS for now. Getting an issue with a header and footer bar that are fixed with scrollable content in the middle. When tapping to scroll, the header/footer bar moves down or up with the content but then snaps back to place as soon as the scrolling completes.     Hi all, Using ExtJs. I'm trying to design a main which is divided into three sub panels (a tree list, a grid and a panel). The way it works is that you have a tree list (west) with elements, you click on an element which populates the grid (center), then you click on an element in the grid and that generates the panel (west). My main panel containing the three other ones has been defined with a layout 'border'. Now the problem I face is that the center layout (the grid) has been defined in the code with a fixed width and the west panel as an auto width. But when the interface gets generated, the grid width is suddenly taking all the space in the interface instead of the west panel.     Hi When trying to extract the title of a html-page I have always used the following regex: (?<=<title.*>)([\s\S]*)(?=</title>) Which will extract everything between the tags in a document and ignore the tags themselves.     I have a site that utilizes a bottom fixed position masthead here: http://www.entheospartners.com/newsite/ This setup works great in all browsers except IE6, which doesn't support fixed positioning in the least, so here's what I've done: When an IE6 user comes to the page, I make the determination if scrolling is necessary using this bit of code: var windowHeight = $(window).height(); var totalHeight = windowHeight - 100; // where 100 is the sum of the top nav height + footer height var contentHeight; if($('#subpage-content-small').length) { // main content div for a three column layout contentHeight = $('#subpage-content-small').height(); }; if($('#subpage-content-wide').length) { // main content div for a two column layout contentHeight = $('#subpage-content-wide').height(); }; if(contentHeight > totalHeight) { $('#container-container').css({ 'overflow-y' : "scroll", 'height' : totalHeight }); }; ...which calculates everything correctly, puts the scrollbars where they need to be (flush right), and sets them to the appropriate height. The problem is that the scrollbars don't move the content. I can't say that I've ever seen anything quite like this before, so I'm hoping someone else on here has. Thanks in advance! PS - Obviously, this needs to be looked at in IE6 for troubleshooting, which I know will be as painful for you as it is for me.

Consider the following specific use case. I have a std::string in the following fixed format: YYYYMMDDHHMMSSmmm Where: YYYY = 4 digits representing the year MM = 2 digits representing the month ('0' padded to 2 characters) DD = 2 digits representing the day ('0' padded to 2 characters) HH = 2 digits representing the hour ('0' padded to 2 characters) MM = 2 digits representing the minute ('0' padded to 2 characters) SS = 2 digits representing the second ('0' padded to 2 characters) mmm = 3 digits representing the milliseconds ('0' padded to 3 characters) Previously I was doing something along these lines: string s = "20101220110651184"; unsigned year = 0, month = 0, day = 0, hour = 0, minute = 0, second = 0, milli = 0; sscanf(s.c_str(), "%4u%2u%2u%2u%2u%2u%3u", &year, &month, &day, &hour, &minute, &second, &milli ); The width values are magic numbers, and that's ok. I'd like to use streams to extract these values and convert them to unsigneds in the interest of type safety. But when I try this: stringstream ss; ss << "20101220110651184"; ss >> setw(4) >> year; year retains the value 0. It should be 2010. How do I do what I'm trying to do? I can't use Boost or any other 3rd party library, nor can I use C++0x.

I need my object to move randomly inside of a container that is let's say for now... 1200px in width and 500px in height. Can someone steer me in the right direction?
