• Linux weird problem touch : command not found ?

  Hey guys, I occurred a really weired problem, which is touch : command not found. I was going to create a blank file, so I type the touch command which didn't work. I'm running centOS 5. Any ideas? BTW: the vi command also not found.

  In /etc/apache2/httpd.conf, I have remove the line of Include mod_status and add the following to the last line, LoadModule status_module /usr/lib/apache2/mod_status.so ExtendedStatus On <Location /server-status> SetHandler server-status AllowOverride None Order Deny,Allow Deny from all Allow from all </Location> Then I restart Apache, and go to http://HOSTNAME/server-status, but I get the page not found, Did someone know why I get page not found? Is there any more step needed to do to see the Apache status? Thanks

• "file not found" error while commiting

  I have a working copy, checked out from SVN repository. When i'm trying to commit, i get following error: svn: File not found: revision 57, path '/trunk/path/to/my/file/logo-mini.jpg' I've found this file in the repo and noticed, that it has only one revision - 58. I don't understand, why SVN complains about this file, when it is presented and why it points to revision 57 instead of 58 ? I've also renamed the grand-grand-grand-parent folder of this file. • Can't start Bind9 on Ubuntu 10.04 + Plesk 10.1 - "named: no process found"

  I've installed a fresh version of Ubuntu 10.04 64bit, I didn't install bind when choosing what packages should be installed in the Ubuntu installer. I downloaded the auto installer for Plesk 10.1 and installed it successfully. When I logged into the Plesk control panel and tried to change the password, it failed because it couldn't restart bind. • "Path Not Found" when attempting to write to a sub folder within a mapped drive

  We have an interesting issue with one of our server shares, or possibly, our Win 7 desktops. When our users try to save files in a sub folder, either via copy/paste or through an application, to a mapped drive on our DC they receive an error saying "Path not found". They can however browse this folder and open files from it. This is where the "Path Not Found" error doesn't seem to stack up in my opinion. Users can however save files fine in the root folder of the mapped drive, it appears only to affect sub folders. It seems to be random which users and machines this affects. The users can log on to a different machine and be able to save in sub folders fine, on the same mapped drive. Event viewer hasn't been much help either. Currently, the only solution we have found is to image the machines affected which solves the issue. Our servers are Server 2008 R2 with Win 7 Pro desktops. Any help/pointers/suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

• Adobe distiller: Cambria not found, using Courier.

  Whenever I try to print to PDF from an MS Word 2007 document, I get this error: Cambria not found, using Courier. (Even though I believe I removed ALL occurrences of Cambria from the document) The pdf doesn't get produced actually, all I get is this error log file with that message. Edit: I found the source of the problem. It was an MS-Word equation that insists on using "Cambria Math" that the distiller was choking over. I can't seem to get equations to print to pdf though!

• man: command not found in zsh (Mac OS 10.58)

  I changed to zsh from the default (by changing the "Shells open with" preference in Terminal to "command (complete path)" set to /bin/zsh While most things seem to work, I tried to see the man page for a command and got a "permission denied" message. When I tried sudo, I got "man: command not found". I changed to the default shell (/bin/tcsh), and this is what I get when I open a new shell: Last login: Fri Nov 18 13:53:50 on ttys000 Fri Nov 18 13:55:21 CST 2011 /usr/bin/manpath: Permission denied. If I try man, I get the same "command not found message". I guess there is something wrong in my PATH, but I have no idea how to fix it. "echo $PATH" (in tcsh) gets: /sw/bin:/sw/sbin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/texbin In zsh, it gets: /usr/bin:/bin:/sw/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/teTeX/bin/powerpc-apple-darwin-current:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/texbin:/usr/X11/bin Any ideas?

• How to fix Google 404 not found Crawl Errors?

  I was checking on Google webmater tool for my blog site to see if there's any indication on why my blog traffic decreased to half in one day and i saw 43 Not Found crawl errors and 5 in Sitemap Not Found errors. The 5 Not Found errors in Sitemap were the links to categories. I guess I renamed categories that's why google can't find the links. As for the 43 other Not Found errors, I see blog post titles that contains (' .) EX: McDonald's, O.N.E. They weren't found by google crawler. Blog post with /CachedYou at the end and blog posts with /www.example.com attached at the end, they weren't found by Google crawlers either. My question is how do I correct those Not Found Errors?   I've recently setup a new backup server and have configured sendmail with a smart_relay_host Except every email from the command line doesn't go anywhere. • Unable to install Android for Windows 7 because JDK is not found

  I have JDK SE7u4 installed in windows 7. I tried to install Android on Windows 7 using the installer_r18-windows.exe but no avail. The setup window showed the message saying that the Java SE JDK not found and ERROR: Failed to find Java version for C:\Windows\System32\java.exe The system cannot found the file specified. If you believe you have a JDK installed and it was not properly recognized, simply set an environment variable JAVA_HOME to point to it I right clicked on Computer Properties Advanced System Settings Environment variables. I created a NEW system variable called JAVA_HOME and set the value as C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_04\bin or C:\Windows\System32\java.exe. I ran the installer again — the same error message still appeared.

• I keep getting OpenSSL Header Version not found error when compiling OpenSSH Debian Squeeze

  I built Openssl1.0.0d ./config shared no-threads zlib It installed fine to the default /usr/local/ssl I went and downloaded OpenSSH 5.8p2 and ran ./configure but now it keeps giving me a Openssl version header not found error even when I set --with-ssl-dir= I've tried it with arguments /usr/local/ssl/include /usr/local/ssl/include/openssl /usr/include /usr/local/ssl/lib I looked in config.log and found error: openssl/opensslv.h: no such file or directory which makes little sense since I pointed openssh to where it is store. /etc/ld.so.conf include /usr/local/ssl/lib I'm at a loss at this point. Answer (maybe): Because I am an idiot. include /usr/local/ssl/lib is incorrect. /usr/local/ssl/lib is correct. It needs to be before the first include.

  I am trying to configure snmptt to translate the snmp traps received and handle them as passive checks in icinga monitoring server as described here . after doing the changes to the snmptrapd.conf . I am trying to restart the service and I see authcommunity : command not found, traphandle : command not found . my understanding is the authcommunity and traphandle are just configuration directives which will tell snmptrapd about the community string to use and the traphandle script to be called. • Mac OS X 10.6 executable not found without full path

  I just installed Apache via MacPorts. It seems that my Mac was absolutely confused about which version of the Apache executables to run. After moving the Apache executables that ship with the Mac to a directory that is not listed in the PATH variable, trying to run the httpd built by MacPorts fails even though the correct directory (/opt/local/apache2/bin) is listed in the PATH variable. If I navigate to the directory /opt/local/apache2/bin and type the command httpd I still get the error message -bash: httpd: command not found If I type the command with the full path /opt/local/apache2/bin/httpd it works fine. I've run the command alias to see if something was clashing but the only thing listed is: alias wget='curl -O' How do I find what is intercepting the command and preventing the executable being found in the directory, even when I'm inside the same directory? • "The network path was not found" - shortening the delay before Windows tries again

  If I try to connect (over Windows file sharing) to a machine that has gone to sleep, I get a timeout followed by "The network path was not found". If I then wake the machine and try again, I still get "The network path was not found" because the connection failure has been cached. If I wait a while (about 30 seconds?) and then try again I can connect successfully. I understand this behaviour. My question is: is there any way to shorten the delay before I can try the connection again?

• Hyper-V Server 2012 - "No Active Network Adapter Found"

  I just installed Hyper-V Server 2012 and first thing I get when logging in to the host is "No Active Network Adapter Found". I know I have to use the following command: pnputil –i –a <inf file> I found the Realtek Network Driver for my MB for Windows 7 here: http://za.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3Plus/M5A97_PRO/#download But there is not one for Windows 8 so I tried using the Win 7 one with PnPUtil, and I got: Failed to install the driver on any of the devices on the system: No more data is available. Does this really mean I can't use Hyper-V Server 2012 with my motherboard? This is hard to believe because I installed Windows Server 2012 directly (prior to installing Hyper-V Server 2012) on this same computer and I had internet access on that server without even configuring any drivers. Ok so I went to PowerShell from cmd and typed Get-NetIPConfiguration And it said the name of my driver (Realtek) and "Disconnected". I switched the Ethernet wire from my primary computer with my server and everything was fixed. Interestingly, my primary computer connects to the internet just fine with the wire that was previously in the server, just with much slower speed. Does anyone know what could be the difference between these 2 Ethernet wires?

• Problem recreating BCD on Windows 7 64bit - The requested system device cannot be found

  NVIDIA drivers upgrade crashed my Windows 7 installation, so I'm working to undo the damage. What I can do: I can boot Windows install from the USB drive, and I can boot the Hiren's Boot CD. Although automated Windows repair fails, I can get to command prompt when I boot Windows install from USB drive, and I can see my drive and all my data. What I cannot do: I cannot boot into Windows - I get this message: Windows failed to start. A recent hardwware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: 1.insert windos cd and run a repair your computer option. File: /boot/bcd Status: 0xc000000f Info: an error occured while attempting to read the boot configuration data. It seems that something is wrong with my /Boot/BCD, so I'm trying to recreate it from scratch. I've tried all the methods detailed here (including Windows repair which fails), and I'm left with the last one (near the bottom of that page). When I type the following command as in the tutorial: bcdedit.exe /import c:\boot\bcd.temp ...it fails with the following error: The store import operation has failed. The requested system device cannot be found. Many Google results say that I must use diskpart to set my partition active, however it's already set as active. Also, when I try this: bcdedit /enum It fails with similar message: The boot configuration data store could not be opened. The requested system device cannot be found. Does anyone know what does that error message mean, and what is the requested system device? I'd like to avoid having to reinstall Windows since all the files on disk seem to be fine.

• Explorer.EXE ordinal 423 not found in urlmon.dll after updates/IE8 install

  Setting up a brand new Dell Optiplex 980 with Windows XP SP3, and everything started up fine on the first boot. My first task was to install system updates, including IE8 and WGA. After the required reboot after installing updates, I now get this error message: Explorer.EXE Ordinal not found. The ordinal 423 could not be located in the dynamic link library urlmon.dll Per my cursory Google search, this forum thread places the blame squarely on IE8. The solution provided is to enter safe mode and remove IE8. Unfortunately, when I press F8 to choose to boot safe mode, I only have the option of "Windows XP SP3 Professional" and no safe mode options. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance. FYI, I can get to the Windows Task Manager by holding down Control-Alt-Delete, but programs don't seem to run properly if you select them. I tried chatting with Dell Support, and we tried to initiate the system restore at c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, but that had a similar "ordinal 423 not found in urlmon.dll" error.

• Object Not found - Apache Rewrite issue

  I'm pretty new to setting up apache locally with xampp. I'm trying to develop locally with xampp (Ubuntu 11.04) linux 1.7.4 for a Drupal Site. I've actually git pulled an exact copy of this drupal site from another testing server hosted at MediaTemple. Issue I'll visit my local development environment virtualhost (http://bbk.loc) and the front page renders correctly with no errors from drupal or apache. The issue is the subsequent pages don't return an "Object not found" Error from apache. What is more bizarre is when I add various query strings and the pages are found (like http://bbk.loc?p=user).   This is more self-answered question but since it drove me crazy I would like to share with the community and maybe someone can tell me why it happened or what it caused. The thing is I wanted to install in my Ubuntu 10.4 machine a CGI app, one built in the samples that come with the gSOAP toolkit. My intention was to access those from ASP .NET machine. Regular Ubuntu does not come with Apache so I install it from Sypnatic. Pretty easy. I followed this How to Install Apache2 webserver with PHP,CGI and Perl Support in Ubuntu Server. Instead of apache.conf I tweaked httpd.conf since a college here used that file instead of the first to put his Apache running. Besides I was able to access his CGI from my ASP .NET but mysteriously I could not from mine, I was getting always "The request failed with HTTP status 503: Service Temporarily Unavailable". Checking Apache error.log I found these messages: No such file or directory: unable to connect to cgi daemon after multiple tries: /home/julen/htdocs/cgi-bin/calcserver And looking more carefully whenever I restarted Apache I got this other message No such file or directory: Couldn't bind unix domain socket /var/run/apache2/cgisock. cgid daemon failed to initialize I am pretty new with Ubuntu and I could not think that Apache and Synaptic made a mistake in the installation process of the server, but it is true that the /var/run/apache2 was missing whereas in my college's computer was not. I tried to find and "elegant" solution but I found a post from 2006 that had an slight reference to it. Finally I decided to create the folder myself (as root) and then everything worked fine. Hope this helps others if they encounter a similar problem. Still I have the doubt why the folders was not created in the first place. Best, Julen.

• Getting file not found error with pdebuild

  I am attempting to build a Debian package using pdebuild on my main development server (running Debian wheezy). • GeekTool logs "command not found" for commands that work fine in Terminal

  I'm trying to run simple commands so I can have GeekTool output date/time etc. to my desktop. Should be simple enough to do but it never actually outputs anything into the boxes. Console log shows it's getting spammed by GeekTool to say 'command not found', though the same command (e.g. date +"%H:%M") works fine in Terminal. All I want to achieve is the ability to output a clock displaying time/date on my desktop that fits into my wallpaper. I've tried changing the format of the commands, using the built-in editor window as well as the command line box on the Properties tab. I had a look at the permissions in '/' (because GeekTool runs commands from there) and nothing unusual comes up. None of these solved the issue. When I use a command that simply echo's a string it works (e.g. echo "hello" displays the word hello). Does anyone have experience with GeekTool, and understand why it won't run basic commands? As I say, it's spamming my console with 'command not found' despite them working in terminal... Running OS X 10.6.6 on a MacBook Pro (mid-2010).
