  • iphone - keeping the last frame of a frame animation visible

    - by Mike
I have this code UIImageView *sequence = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"balao_surge0.png"]]; NSMutableArray *array = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init] ; for (int i=0; i<30; i++) { UIImage *oneImage = [UIImage imageNamed:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"balao_surge%d.png",i]]; [array addObject:oneImage]; } sequence.animationImages = array; sequence.animationDuration = 2.0; sequence.animationRepeatCount = 1; [umaVista addSubview:sequence]; [sequence release]; sequence.startAnimating; The animation plays fine, but after the last frame is shown, it vanishes. I would like to make it stay visible, that is, make the animation stop on the last frame. Is there any way to do that? thanks for any help.

  • Operation could not be completed. AVAudioRecorder iphone SDK

    - by Jonathan
I am trying to record using the iphones microphone: This is my code: NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0]; // the path to write file NSString *appFile = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"testing.mp3"]; NSURL *url = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:appFile isDirectory:NO]; NSDictionary *settings = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys: [NSNumber numberWithFloat: 44100.0], AVSampleRateKey, [NSNumber numberWithInt: kAudioFormatMPEGLayer3], AVFormatIDKey, [NSNumber numberWithInt: 1], AVNumberOfChannelsKey, [NSNumber numberWithInt: AVAudioQualityLow], AVEncoderAudioQualityKey, nil]; NSError *error; recorder = [[AVAudioRecorder alloc] initWithURL:url settings:settings error:&error]; if ([recorder prepareToRecord] == YES){ [recorder record]; }else { int errorCode = CFSwapInt32HostToBig ([error code]); NSLog(@"Error: %@ [%4.4s])" , [error localizedDescription], (char*)&errorCode); } NSLog(@"BOOL = %d", (int)recorder.recording); This is the error I get: Operation could not be completed. (OSStatus error 1718449215.) And I can not work out why this doesn't work, as a lot of the code I got from a website. Jonathan

  • iphone - making the CGAffineTransform permanent

    - by Mike
I am banging my head on the wall here due to this problem: When I create a UIImageView this view has a certain orientation and size. Lets call this state "A". This view responds to taps. It can be dragged around the screen. At some point in the code I apply a CGAffineTransform to the view. Does not matter if the affine is a scale, a rotation, a translation or a combination of all. Does not matter also if the transform is absolute or relative. Not to mention the device can change its orientation and the view is autorotated to the correct orientation (that we can cay is a kind of rotation or transformation applied to the view). The problem is: the moment I touch that object or try to animate its transparency or any other parameter, it "remembers" the state "A" and does all animations from that state, not from current state. If I simply touch the view, it returns instantly to state "A". The code is not doing it by itself. It is an annoying "gift" from Apple. How to I make a view assume its current state of transformations as the reset or initial state? In other words, how do I make a view forget its past transformations or states? The only way I know is recreating the view, but this is a ridiculous way of doing this. Is there any way to make this work as I described? thanks

  • UIImages not displaying in TableView on iPhone, but working in Simulator

    - by Graeme
    Hi, I have a UITable View that displays an image in the left hand side of the table cell, and it works fine in the simulator. Only problem is, once I ran it on my device no images appear. It's just a blank white space. Have checked that images are added to resource folder for build (which they are) and that capitals etc. match (which they do). Any ideas? Thanks. Code to display images: cell.imageView.layer.masksToBounds = YES; cell.imageView.layer.cornerRadius = 5.0; UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:[[dog types] stringByTrimmingCharactersInSet:[NSCharacterSet whitespaceAndNewlineCharacterSet]]];; if ( image ) { cell.imageView.image = [image imageScaledToSize:CGSizeMake(50, 50)]; }

  • Edit, select value from UITableView on the iPhone

    - by Anthony D
I have a UITableView with a list of names, representing server configurations. I want the user to be able to select a server configuration, add a server config, edit a server config, or just cancel out of the view and return to the main view. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to achieve all of that functionality in this view. To select, the user should be able to just tap the server config name and a check will appear next to the name then the user is taken back to the main view automatically (or use a save button instead?). To edit the server config, I would also like the user to be able to tap the server config name and be taken to a detail screen where changes can be made. How can I accomplish both since I want both to be done by tapping the server name (row)? Right now the cancel button seems out of place since the screen is accessed via a UINavigationController. Any suggestions?

  • iphone - button outside MPMoviePlayerController window not responding

    - by Mike
I have created a MPMoviePlayerController to play a movie. As the movie likes to play landscape in full screen, when the movie is about to play, I grab its window and resize it to be smaller. At the same time, I add a view to the movie's window and this view contains several buttons, that are supposed to be around the movie. As the movie's window is reduced in size, I have to scale the buttons' view up, so the buttons do not reduce in size. I ended with this What you can see here is this: four buttons (green rectangles), the reduced movie's window and the application's window, that now is visible because the movie's window was reduced. The problem is that the buttons just work if you click on their regions inside the movie's window (A). If you click them on the region outside (B) they don't work. WHen you click on B, TouchesMoved on the main view controller receives the touch and the button doesn't do its action. How can this be solved? thanks for any help

  • iPhone - move above buttons

    - by Mike
I have a video at 320x240 on the middle of the screen area. Around this video, several buttons that will call different actions. When the MPMoviePlayerController is fired and the movie starts playing the buttons are behind the video and I cannot click them. I see them but they are not clickable. I think the video window is covering the whole area. How can I solve that?

  • iphone - using a UISwitch

    - by Mike
I need to implement a view where I need the user to answer several questions using YES or NO. I thought of using a UISwitch but as far as I see it does not allows replacing the ON/OFF messages it shows with YES/NO. Am I wrong? I thought of implementing a segmented control with 2 buttons but this is like using a cannon to kill a fly... Any suggestions on how to do that? thanks

  • iphone - double tap fail safe way

    - by mike
I am trying to detect double taps on a view, but when the double tap comes, the first tap triggers an action on TouchesBegan, so, before detecting a double tap a single tap is always detected first. How can I make this in a way that just detects the double tap? I cannot use OS 3.x gestures, because I have to make it compatible with old OS versions. thanks

  • iphone - forcing button to acknowledge touch programmatically

    - by Mike
When you touch a UIButton it hides for a fraction of second and then it executes its action. This fast "blink" is the feedback the user needs to know that the button has been clicked. In the project I am doing, I need to select the button programmatically, as if the user had clicked it. In other words, the same behavior has the button had been clicked by the user... a fast blink and execution of its action. Is this possible? thanks for any help.

  • iphone - compiler conditional on header

    - by Mike
I have a project that generates applications for two targets. One of the targets has to include one additional delegate protocol that should not be present on the other one. So, I have created a macro on Xcode and declared the header like this: #ifdef TARGET_1 @interface myViewController : UIViewController <UIScrollViewDelegate, UIPopoverControllerDelegate> #endif #ifdef TARGET_2 @interface myViewController : UIViewController <UIScrollViewDelegate> #endif { .... bla bla.... } The problem is that Xcode is not liking this "double" declaration of @interface and is giving me all sort of problems. How to solve that? thanks for any help.

  • Showing value of UISlider inside App Prefs?

    - by Garrett H
I have a settings bundle, working perfectly, that I would like to customize a bit. I have, among other things, a PSSliderSpecifier and a PSTitleValueSpecifier. What I would like to do is change the value of the PSTitleValueSpecifier to show the current value of the slider, preferably updating every time the slider's value changes (Actually, what I'd like even more would be displaying the slider's value on the same row as the slider). I know the settings bundle is rather strict about what you're allowed to do in it, but is there any way of doing this?

  • iPhone apps causing battery to drain out

    - by saurabh
Hi, Recently my iPhone battery started to discharge in just one day. I do not use my iPhone much (less than 1 hour a day). and then while discussing it with couple of colleagues, I heard that there are some apps which even if installed on your iPhone can cause your battery to drain out faster. It does not matter if you are not using those apps, only having them installed was enough to cause battery drain. I have heard this from couple of my techie friends as well and thus had to put some credibility to it. Being an iPhone developer, I don't think that is possible. Do you think if this is possible for an app to cause battery drain just by being installed there on iPhone?

  • Test iPhone app on iPad mini?

    - by Devfly
I have developed an iPhone app, right now I only need a device for testing. I have 300$, and two choices - second hand iPhone 4, or brand new iPad mini. The better choice obviously is the iPad, but is it sufficient for testing iPhone apps on? On the iPad, iPhone apps can run just fine in 2X mode, but are there any differences between the app performance on iPhone and iPad (except the chipset). Should I test my app on actual iPhone, or the iPad will suffice? My app is RSS reader, not some game, so I think everything will be fine with testing on iPad mini. If I buy the iPad I will find some friends iPhone 4/3gs running iOS 5.1 (because my app's deployment target is 5.1, and the iPad comes with 6.0), but of course I can't extensively test on this iPhone. Thank you!
