    Do you guys know a way to trap log and re-raise exception in Delphi code. A simple example: procedure TForm3.Button1Click(Sender: TObject); begin try raise Exception.Create('Bum'); except on E: Exception do begin MyHandleException(E); end; end; end; procedure TForm3.MyHandleException(AException: Exception); begin ShowMessage(AException.Message); // raise AException; - this will access violate end; So I need to re-raise it in the except block but I was wondering is there a better way to write my own method to handle and (on specific conditions) to re-raise exceptions?

  • Best way for user authentication on JavaEE 6 using JSF 2.0?

    I'm wondering what the current state of art recommendation is regarding user authentication for a web application making use of JSF 2.0 (and if any components do exist) and JEE6 core mechanisms (login/check permissions/logouts) with user information hold in a JPA entity. The Sun tutorial is a bit sparse on this (only handles servlets). This is without making use of a whole other framework, like Spring-Security (acegi), or Seam, but trying to stick hopefully with the new Java EE 6 platform (web profile) if possible. Thanks, Niko

    Hi guys, I've got a Windows 2003 x86 server with a small WSS3.0 installation. Now we've bought a new server with Windows Server 2008 x64 and installed SharePoint Foundation 2010 on it. I wish to transfer the few lists and their view from the old WSS3 to SP2010. How should I do this? All the migration websites I've read talk about preparing, but no-one really say how to migrate from one x86 2007 server to a x64 2010 server. Cheers Nik

  • Drobo Pros won't mount via iSCSI

    Hi guys, I've got an Xserve where I've configured a Drobo Pro. Connected via firewire and USB, it works fine, but when connected to a separate network port, it doesn't mount. I've got the Drobo Pro configured to 2.0.1.2/255.255.0.0 and the network port to 2.0.0.1/255.255.0.0. I can ping the IP of the Drobo Pro just fine. I've installed Drobo Dashboard 1.6.8. Cheers Nik

  • XServe won't let me log in

    Hi guys, After a power-failure, my Xserve won't let me log in on the login screen. I can still SSH into the box and access its other services, but the login box just shakes when I write either a local username and password or an ldap based username and password (this server is the LDAP server). This is because the complex criteria I'm working with can define the same path in many places.     I've read lots of tutorials on how to deserialize a JSON object to an object of a particular using DataContractJsonSerializer. However, I'd like to deserialize my object to a Dictionary consisting of either Strings, Arrays or Dictionaries, such as System.Json does with SilverLight when I say JsonObject.Parse(myJSONstring). Is there an equivalent to System.Json that I can use in my WPF project?     Hi guys, I've been using pound to run mydomain.dk. Now I've bought some other domains and SSL certificates that are mydomain.no, mydomain.se and mydomain.eu.   • How do I configure OpenVPN for accessing the internet with one NIC?

    I've been trying to get OpenVPN to work for three days. After reading many questions, the HOWTO, the FAQ and even parts of a guide to Linux networking, I cannot get my an Internet connection to the Internet. I'm trying to set up a OpenVPN server on a VPS, which will be used for: secure access to the Internet bypassing port restrictions (directadmin/2222 for example) an IPv6 connection (my client does only have IPv4 connectivity, while the VPS has both IPv4 and native IPv6 connectivity) (if possible) I can connect to my server and access the machine (HTTP), but Internet connectivity fails completely. I'm using ping 8.8.8.8 for testing whether my connection works or not. Using tcpdump and iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -j LOG, I can confirm that the packets reach my server. If I ping to 8.8.8.8 on the VPS, I get an echo-reply from 8.8.8.8 as expected. When pinging from the client, I do not get an echo-reply. The VPS has only one NIC: etho. It runs on Xen. Summary: I want to have a secure connection between my laptop and the Internet using OpenVPN. If that works, I want to have IPv6 connectivity as well. Network setup and software: Home laptop (eth0: 192.168.2.10) (tap0: 10.8.0.2) | | (running Kubuntu 10.10; OpenVPN 2.1.0-3ubuntu1) | wifi | router/gateway (gateway 192.168.2.1) | INTERNET | VPS (eth0:1.2.3.4) (gateway, tap0: 10.8.0.1) (running Debian 6; OpenVPN 2.1.3-2) wifi and my home router should not cause problems since all traffic goes encrypted over UDP port 1194.   • weird characters displayed during serial communication OSX

    I have tried communicating via serial (OSX w/ prolific drivers - USB RS232 adapter - Tx,Rx and GND pins on device serial ttl port) to a device and done so successfully using screen /dev/tty.usbserial 115200 8N1 I get to log in and use it as if I was SSH or TelNetted in... However whenever I try to go into system recovery mode (holding CTRL+1) while the device is powering on, it starts displaying weird characters and until I close the screen session it will continue showing weird characters: Of course when we tried doing the same thing on my boss' macbook running windows and PuTTY and everything worked fine, even in system recovery mode; characters were displayed properly. What gives? Id like to learn the intuition to use because up till now I concluded that since I can bot into the system and see characters normally everything about the connection should be fine and its must have been the recovery partition that was broken.     Hi guys, I would like to have the result from my recording as a float in the range [0.0, 1.0], alternatively [-1.0, 1.0] because of a bit of math I want to do on it. When I set my recordingformat to be in float, like this: mRecordFormat.mFormatFlags = kLinearPCMFormatFlagIsFloat; I get: Error: AudioQueueNewInput failed ('fmt?') Does this mean the hardware doesn't support recording to floats? If not, how do I set it to record in floats?     Hi guys, I've followed http://static.springsource.org/spring/docs/3.0.2.RELEASE/spring-framework-reference/html/mvc.html#mvc-etag and put ShallowEtagHeaderFilter in my web.xml like this: <filter> <filter-name>etagFilter</filter-name> <filter-class>org.springframework.web.filter.ShallowEtagHeaderFilter</filter-class> </filter> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>etagFilter</filter-name> <servlet-name>myServlet</servlet-name> <!-- I've even tried <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> --> </filter-mapping> But whenever I load my pages, I don't get any etag headers in my response. Any suggestions as to what might be going on? Is there any kind of ordering my filters should have? (I'm also using OpenSessionInViewFilter and DelegatingFilterProxy Cheers Nik

    Hi guys, I've got the scenario with two NSManagedObjects, Arm and Person. Between them is a many-to-one relationship Person.arms and inverse Arm.owner. I'd like to write a simple NSPredicate where I've got the NSManagedObject *arm and I'd like to fetch the NSManagedObject *person that this arm belongs to. I could make a textual representation and look for that, but is there a better way where I can look it up by identity? Something like this perhaps?   • Using PHP to place database rows into an array?

    I was just wondering how i would be able to code perform an SQL query and then place each row into a new array, for example, lets say a table looked like the following: $people= mysql_query("SELECT * FROM friends") Output: | ID | Name | Age | --1----tom----32 --2----dan----22 --3----pat----52 --4----nik----32 --5----dre----65 How could i create a multidimensional array that works in the following way, the first rows second column data could be accessed using $people[0][1] and fifth rows third column could be accessed using $people[4][2]. How would i go about constructing this type of array? Sorry if this is a strange question, its just that i am new to PHP+SQL and would like to know how to directly access data. Performance and speed is not a issue as i am just writing small test scripts to get to grips with the language.
