  • Multiple routers, subnets, gateways etc

    - by allentown
    My current setup is: Cable modem dishes out 13 static IP's (/28), a GB switch is plugged into the cable modem, and has access to those 13 static IP's, I have about 6 "servers" in use right now. The cable modem is also a firewall, DHCP server, and 3 port 10/100 switch. I am using it as a firewall, but not currently as a DHCP server. I have plugged into the cable modem, two network cables, one which goes to the WAN port of a Linksys Dual Band Wireless 10/100/1000 router/switch. Into the linksys are a few workstations, a few printers, and some laptops connecting to wifi. I set the Linksys to use take static IP, and enabled DHCP for the workstations, printers, etc in 192.168.1.1/24. The network for the Linksys is mostly self contained, backups go to a SAN, on that network, it all happens through that switch, over GB. But I also get internet access from it as well via the cable modem using one static IP. This all works, however, I can not "see" the static IP machines when I am on the Linksys. I can get to them via ssh and other protocols, and if I want to from "outside", I open holes, like 80, 25, 587, 143, 22, etc. The second wire, from the cable modem/fireall/switch just uplinks to the managed GB switch. What are the pros and cons of this? I do not like giving up the static IP to the Linksys. I basically have a mixed network of public servers, and internal workstations. I want the public servers on public IP's because I do not want to mess with port forwarding and mappings. Is it correct also, that if someone breaches the Linksys wifi, they still would have a hard time getting to the static IP range, just by nature of the network topology? Today, just for a test, I toggled on the DHCP in the firewall/cable modem at 10.1.10.1/24 range, the Linksys is n the 192.168.1.100/24 range. At that point, all the static IP machines still had in and out access, but Linksys was unreachable. The cable modem only has 10/100 ports, so I will not plug anything but the network drop into it, which is 50Mb/10Mb. Which makes me think this could be less than ideal, as transfers from the workstation network to the server network will be bottlenecked at 100Mb when I have 1000Mb available. I may not need to solve that, if isolation is better though. I do not move a lot of data, if any, from Linsys network to server network, so for it to pretend to be remote is ok. Should I approach this any different? I could enable DHCP on the cable modem/firewall, it should still send out the statics to the GB switch, but will also be a DHCP in 10.1.10.1/24 range? I can then plug the Linksys into the GB switch, which is now picking up statics and the 10.1.10.1/24 ranges, tell the Linksys to use 10.1.10.5 or so. Now, do I disable DHCP on the Linksys, and the cable modem/firewall will pass through the statics and 10.0.10.1/24 ranges as well? Or, could I open a second DHCP pool on the Linksys? I guess doing so gives me network isolation again, but it is just the reverse of what I have now. But I get out of the bottleneck, not that the Linksys could ever really touch real GB speeds anyway, but the managed switch certainly can. This is all because 13 statics are not that many. Right now, 6 "servers", the Linksys, a managed switch, a few SSL certs, and I am running out. I do not want to waste a static IP on the managed GB switch, or the Linksys, unless it provides me some type of benefit. Final question, under my current setup, if I am on a workstation, sitting at 192.168.1.109, the Linksys, with GB, and I send a file over ssh to the static IP machine, is that literally leaving the internet, and coming back in, or does it stay local? To me it seems like: Workstation (192.168.1.109) -> Linksys DHCP -> Linksys Static IP -> Cable Modem -> Server ( and it hits the 10/100 ports on the cable modem, slowing me down. But does it round trip the network, leave and come back in, limiting me to the 50/10 internet speeds? *These are all made up numbers, I do not use default router IP's as I will one day add a VPN, and do not want collisions. I need some recommendations, do I want one big network, or two isolated ones. Printers these days need an IP, everything does, I can not get autoconf/bonjour to be reliable on most printers. but I am also not sure I want the "server" side of my operation to be polluted by the workstation side of my operation. Unless there is some magic subetting I have not learned yet, here is what I am thinking: Cable modem 10/100, has 13 static IP, publicly accessible -> Enable DHCP on the cable modem -> Cable modem plugs into managed switch -> Managed switch gets 10.1.10.1 ssh, telnet, https admin management address -> Managed switch sends static IP's to to servers -> Plug Linksys into managed switch, giving it 10.1.10.2 static internally in Linksys admin -> Linksys gets assigned 10.1.10.x as its DHCP sending range -> Local printers, workstations, iPhones etc, connect to this -> ( Do I enable DHCP or disable it on the Linksys, just define a non over lapping range, or create an entirely new DHCP at 10.1.50.0/24, I think I am back isolated again with that method too? ) Thank you for any suggestions. This is the first time I have had to deal with less than a /24, and most are larger than that, but it is just a drop to a cabinet. Otherwise, it's a router, a few repeaters, and soho stuff that is simple, with one IP. I know a few may suggest going all DHCP on the servers, and I may one day, just not now, there has been too much moving of gear for me to be interested in that, and I would want something in the Catalyst series to deal with that.

  • ftp connection problem, vsftp server, active mode

    - by Mark Szente
    I have a server that runs vsftpd to handle ftp connections. One of my users have a notebook with Total Commander and WinSCP installed. Both ftp clients fail right after the connection is established to the server and it tries to download the directory listing with the following error message: Timeout detected. Could not retrieve directory listing PORT command successful. Consider using PASV. Error listing directory '/'. The weird thing is: the notebook works perfectly ok with other ftp servers. My ftp server also works well with other clients. In fact, this user also has a pc running on the same LAN as the notebook and the pc works well with the ftp server. We use PORT ftp connection mode. Passive mode works well but is not an option at this point. I would post more technical details but I don't even know what this problem is related to. Anyway, below is the server side tcpdump for the failed connection attempt. There's no further communication between the client and the server after the last line of log. Thank you very much for any hint! 23:39:24.514852 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: S 1314489715:1314489715(0) win 65535 <mss 1460,nop,wscale 3,nop,nop,sackOK> 23:39:24.514896 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: S 2633658883:2633658883(0) ack 1314489716 win 5840 <mss 1460,nop,nop,sackOK,nop,wscale 2> 23:39:24.520842 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: . ack 1 win 62500 23:39:24.523803 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 1:21(20) ack 1 win 1460 23:39:24.546858 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 1:15(14) ack 21 win 62497 23:39:24.546902 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: . ack 15 win 1460 23:39:24.547247 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 21:55(34) ack 15 win 1460 23:39:24.762806 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: . ack 55 win 62493 23:39:30.415011 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 15:28(13) ack 55 win 62493 23:39:30.454116 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: . ack 28 win 1460 23:39:31.036283 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 55:78(23) ack 28 win 1460 23:39:31.053018 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 28:34(6) ack 78 win 62490 23:39:31.053042 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: . ack 34 win 1460 23:39:31.053268 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 78:97(19) ack 34 win 1460 23:39:31.068969 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 34:40(6) ack 97 win 62488 23:39:31.069148 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 97:112(15) ack 40 win 1460 23:39:31.069179 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 112:119(7) ack 40 win 1460 23:39:31.076981 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: . ack 119 win 62485 23:39:31.077010 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 119:177(58) ack 40 win 1460 23:39:31.114979 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 40:45(5) ack 177 win 62478 23:39:31.115164 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 177:186(9) ack 45 win 1460 23:39:31.180966 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 45:53(8) ack 186 win 62476 23:39:31.181066 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 186:216(30) ack 53 win 1460 23:39:31.213065 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 53:80(27) ack 216 win 62473 23:39:31.213180 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 216:267(51) ack 80 win 1460 23:39:31.251086 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: P 80:86(6) ack 267 win 62466 23:39:31.251498 IP 195.70.xx.xx.20 > 62.201.xx.xx.5001: S 2640780713:2640780713(0) win 5840 <mss 1460,sackOK,timestamp 2054371220 0,nop,wscale 2> 23:39:31.290979 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: . ack 86 win 1460 23:39:34.251489 IP 195.70.xx.xx.20 > 62.201.xx.xx.5001: S 2640780713:2640780713(0) win 5840 <mss 1460,sackOK,timestamp 2054374220 0,nop,wscale 2> 23:39:40.249625 IP 195.70.xx.xx.20 > 62.201.xx.xx.5001: S 2640780713:2640780713(0) win 5840 <mss 1460,sackOK,timestamp 2054380220 0,nop,wscale 2> 23:39:43.695108 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.1057: P 2280716551:2280716588(37) ack 3838413728 win 5840 23:39:52.248791 IP 195.70.xx.xx.20 > 62.201.xx.xx.5001: S 2640780713:2640780713(0) win 5840 <mss 1460,sackOK,timestamp 2054392220 0,nop,wscale 2> 23:40:16.245159 IP 195.70.xx.xx.20 > 62.201.xx.xx.5001: S 2640780713:2640780713(0) win 5840 <mss 1460,sackOK,timestamp 2054416221 0,nop,wscale 2> 23:40:29.853685 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.1057: FP 37:51(14) ack 1 win 5840 23:40:31.241951 IP 195.70.xx.xx.21 > 62.201.xx.xx.2241: P 267:304(37) ack 86 win 1460 23:40:31.381708 IP 62.201.xx.xx.2241 > 195.70.xx.xx.21: . ack 304 win 62462

  • Utility to grant admin rights to a user in Windows XP for few hours/days?

    - by user15660
    Hi, I have two accounts on my windows xp home desktop. The default regular user is used for everything and the 2nd user which has admin rights is used only for installations. I do this to avoid malware infestations during web browsing and limited user account is guarding against online threats to a good extend but many programs refuse to run under limited rights like revo uninstaller. many installs i run from limited user by selectin "run as" from right click context menu of the .exe file. but some apps need admin rights for certain. I use "switch user" to go to admin mode and do the install/uninstall. but the admin user has none of my preferences bookmarks setup nor has my locate32 indexing done and ready for fast search Is there a utility which I can use "run as" login in administration login and use that to grant my limited user admin rights for a limited amount of period like few hours or days? Please help. I guess MS might have closed many doors of it for fear of exploitation of the API. are there any?

  • Direct3D11 and SharpDX - How to pass a model instance's world matrix as an input to a vertex shader

    - by Nathan Ridley
    Using Direct3D11, I'm trying to pass a matrix into my vertex shader from the instance buffer that is associated with a given model's vertices and I can't seem to construct my InputLayout without throwing an exception. The shader looks like this: cbuffer ConstantBuffer : register(b0) { matrix World; matrix View; matrix Projection; } struct VIn { float4 position: POSITION; matrix instance: INSTANCE; float4 color: COLOR; }; struct VOut { float4 position : SV_POSITION; float4 color : COLOR; }; VOut VShader(VIn input) { VOut output; output.position = mul(input.position, input.instance); output.position = mul(output.position, View); output.position = mul(output.position, Projection); output.color = input.color; return output; } The input layout looks like this: var elements = new[] { new InputElement("POSITION", 0, Format.R32G32B32_Float, 0, 0, InputClassification.PerVertexData, 0), new InputElement("INSTANCE", 0, Format.R32G32B32A32_Float, 0, 0, InputClassification.PerInstanceData, 1), new InputElement("COLOR", 0, Format.R32G32B32A32_Float, 12, 0) }; InputLayout = new InputLayout(device, signature, elements); The buffer initialization looks like this: public ModelDeviceData(Model model, Device device) { Model = model; var vertices = Helpers.CreateBuffer(device, BindFlags.VertexBuffer, model.Vertices); var instances = Helpers.CreateBuffer(device, BindFlags.VertexBuffer, Model.Instances.Select(m => m.WorldMatrix).ToArray()); VerticesBufferBinding = new VertexBufferBinding(vertices, Utilities.SizeOf<ColoredVertex>(), 0); InstancesBufferBinding = new VertexBufferBinding(instances, Utilities.SizeOf<Matrix>(), 0); IndicesBuffer = Helpers.CreateBuffer(device, BindFlags.IndexBuffer, model.Triangles); } The buffer creation helper method looks like this: public static Buffer CreateBuffer<T>(Device device, BindFlags bindFlags, params T[] items) where T : struct { var len = Utilities.SizeOf(items); var stream = new DataStream(len, true, true); foreach (var item in items) stream.Write(item); stream.Position = 0; var buffer = new Buffer(device, stream, len, ResourceUsage.Default, bindFlags, CpuAccessFlags.None, ResourceOptionFlags.None, 0); return buffer; } The line that instantiates the InputLayout object throws this exception: *HRESULT: [0x80070057], Module: [General], ApiCode: [E_INVALIDARG/Invalid Arguments], Message: The parameter is incorrect.* Note that the data for each model instance is simply an instance of SharpDX.Matrix. EDIT Based on Tordin's answer, it sems like I have to modify my code like so: var elements = new[] { new InputElement("POSITION", 0, Format.R32G32B32_Float, 0, 0, InputClassification.PerVertexData, 0), new InputElement("INSTANCE0", 0, Format.R32G32B32A32_Float, 0, 0, InputClassification.PerInstanceData, 1), new InputElement("INSTANCE1", 1, Format.R32G32B32A32_Float, 0, 0, InputClassification.PerInstanceData, 1), new InputElement("INSTANCE2", 2, Format.R32G32B32A32_Float, 0, 0, InputClassification.PerInstanceData, 1), new InputElement("INSTANCE3", 3, Format.R32G32B32A32_Float, 0, 0, InputClassification.PerInstanceData, 1), new InputElement("COLOR", 0, Format.R32G32B32A32_Float, 12, 0) }; and in the shader: struct VIn { float4 position: POSITION; float4 instance0: INSTANCE0; float4 instance1: INSTANCE1; float4 instance2: INSTANCE2; float4 instance3: INSTANCE3; float4 color: COLOR; }; VOut VShader(VIn input) { VOut output; matrix world = { input.instance0, input.instance1, input.instance2, input.instance3 }; output.position = mul(input.position, world); output.position = mul(output.position, View); output.position = mul(output.position, Projection); output.color = input.color; return output; } However I still get an exception.

  • Juniper SSG-5 subinterface vlan routing to the internet

    - by catfish
    I'm unable to get a brand new Juniper SSG-5 with latest 6.3.0r05 firmware routing to the internet from a subinterface I created on bgroup0 setup as vlan2 (bgroup0.1 on "wifi" zone). When connected on the default vlan it gets on the internet just fine. When I switch to vlan2 I'm unable to get to the internet. I am able to get the correct ip address (10.150.0.0/24) from dhcp, able to get to the juniper management page, etc but nothing past the firewall, can't ping 4.2.2.2 or the internet gateway. Even setting up logging on the wifi-to-untrust policy and it does shows the attempts (it's it's timeouts). 172.31.16.0/24 is the untrusted lan, it's already nat'ed but works fine for testing. Can ping this ip from the default vlan but not from vlan2 192.168.1.0/24 is the trusted main lan 10.150.0.0/24 is the wifi isolated lan on vlan2 The idea is to setup an AP with lan and guest access (AP supports multiple ssid's on different vlans). I know I can setup the juniper to use different ports for the wifi lan and use their procurve switch to do the vlan separation, but I never used vlan'ing on a Juniper firewall and I would like to try it out this way. • Can't install kernel-uek-headers for currently running kernel

    - by haydenc2
    I have just created a VM in VMWare and installed a minimal install of Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.3. # cat /etc/oracle-release Oracle Linux Server release 6.3 It is running with the UEK kernel. # uname -r 2.6.39-200.24.1.el6uek.x86_64 When I try and install VMWare Tools, I get the following error. Searching for a valid kernel header path... The path "" is not a valid path to the 2.6.39-200.24.1.el6uek.x86_64 kernel headers. Would you like to change it? [yes] I have version 2.6.39 of the UEK installed, but the kernel-uek-headers are only 2.6.32. # yum list kernel-uek Installed Packages kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-200.24.1.el6uek @anaconda-UEK2/6.3 kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-200.29.3.el6uek @ol6_UEK_latest # yum list kernel-uek-headers Installed Packages kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.32.2.el6uek @ol6_latest And it appears that the headers for 2.6.39 aren't there. # yum list kernel-uek-headers --showduplicates Installed Packages kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.32.2.el6uek @ol6_latest Available Packages kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-100.28.5.el6 ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-100.28.9.el6 ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-100.28.11.el6 ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-100.28.15.el6 ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-100.28.17.el6 ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-100.34.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-100.35.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-100.36.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-100.37.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-200.16.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-200.19.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-200.20.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-200.23.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.3.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.4.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.7.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.11.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.20.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.21.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.24.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.25.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.27.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.29.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.29.2.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.32.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek-headers.x86_64 2.6.32-300.32.2.el6uek ol6_latest The kernel for 2.6.32 is there. # yum list kernel-uek --showduplicates Installed Packages kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-200.24.1.el6uek @anaconda-UEK2/6.3 kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-200.29.3.el6uek @ol6_UEK_latest Available Packages kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-100.28.5.el6 ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-100.28.9.el6 ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-100.28.11.el6 ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-100.28.15.el6 ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-100.28.17.el6 ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-100.34.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-100.35.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-100.36.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-100.37.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-200.16.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-200.19.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-200.20.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-200.23.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.3.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.4.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.7.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.11.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.20.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.21.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.24.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.25.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.27.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.29.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.29.2.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.32.1.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.32-300.32.2.el6uek ol6_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-100.5.1.el6uek ol6_UEK_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-100.6.1.el6uek ol6_UEK_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-100.7.1.el6uek ol6_UEK_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-100.10.1.el6uek ol6_UEK_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-200.24.1.el6uek ol6_UEK_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-200.29.1.el6uek ol6_UEK_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-200.29.2.el6uek ol6_UEK_latest kernel-uek.x86_64 2.6.39-200.29.3.el6uek ol6_UEK_latest Should I downgrade the kernel to 2.6.32 so I can install VMWare tools?   • Exceptions with DateTime parsing in RSS feed in C#

    - by hIpPy
    I'm trying to parse Rss2, Atom feeds using SyndicationFeedFormatter and SyndicationFeed objects. But I'm getting XmlExceptions while parsing DateTime field like pubDate and/or lastBuildDate. Wed, 24 Feb 2010 18:56:04 GMT+00:00 does not work Wed, 24 Feb 2010 18:56:04 GMT works So, it's throwing due to the timezone field. As a workaround, for familiar feeds I would manually fix those DateTime nodes - by catching the XmlException, loading the Rss into an XmlDocument, fixing those nodes' value, creating a new XmlReader and then returning the formatter from this new XmlReader object (code not shown). But for this approach to work, I need to know beforehand which nodes cause exception. SyndicationFeedFormatter syndicationFeedFormatter = null; XmlReaderSettings settings = new XmlReaderSettings(); using (XmlReader reader = XmlReader.Create(url, settings)) { try { syndicationFeedFormatter = SyndicationFormatterFactory.CreateFeedFormatter(reader); syndicationFeedFormatter.ReadFrom(reader); } catch (XmlException xexp) { // fix those datetime nodes with exceptions and read again. } return syndicationFeedFormatter; } rss feed: http://news.google.com/news?pz=1&cf=all&ned=us&hl=en&q=test&cf=all&output=rss exception detials: XmlException Error in line 1 position 376. • Why 32-bit color EGL configurations fail with EGL_BAD_MATCH on Moto Droid?

    - by Gilead
    I'm trying to figure out why certain EGL configurations cause eglMakeCurrent() call to return EGL_BAD_MATCH on Motorola Droid running Android 2.1u1. This is a full list of hardware-accelerated EGL configurations (those with EGL_CONFIG_CAVEAT == EGL_NONE) as there's a few others with EGL_CONFIG_CAVEAT == EGL_SLOW_CONFIG but those are backed by PixelFlinger 1.2 meaning they're using software renderer. ID: 0 RGB: 8, 8, 8 Alpha: 8 Depth: 24 Stencil: 8 // BAD MATCH ID: 1 RGB: 8, 8, 8 Alpha: 8 Depth: 0 Stencil: 0 // BAD MATCH ID: 2 RGB: 8, 8, 8 Alpha: 8 Depth: 24 Stencil: 8 // BAD MATCH ID: 3 RGB: 8, 8, 8 Alpha: 8 Depth: 24 Stencil: 8 // BAD MATCH ID: 4 RGB: 8, 8, 8 Alpha: 8 Depth: 0 Stencil: 0 // BAD MATCH ID: 5 RGB: 8, 8, 8 Alpha: 8 Depth: 24 Stencil: 8 // BAD MATCH ID: 6 RGB: 5, 6, 5 Alpha: 0 Depth: 24 Stencil: 8 ID: 7 RGB: 5, 6, 5 Alpha: 0 Depth: 0 Stencil: 0 ID: 8 RGB: 5, 6, 5 Alpha: 0 Depth: 24 Stencil: 8 Clearly, all configurations with 32-bit color depth fail and all 16-bit ones are OK but: 1. Why? 2. WHY?! :) 3. How do I tell which ones would fail before actually trying to use them? The code below is as simple as it can get. I put if (v[0] == 6) there to check different configs, normally they're chosen by half-clever config matcher :) private void createSurface(SurfaceHolder holder) { egl = (EGL10)EGLContext.getEGL(); eglDisplay = egl.eglGetDisplay(EGL10.EGL_DEFAULT_DISPLAY); egl.eglInitialize(eglDisplay, null); int[] numConfigs = new int[1]; egl.eglChooseConfig(eglDisplay, new int[] { EGL10.EGL_NONE }, null, 0, numConfigs); EGLConfig[] configs = new EGLConfig[numConfigs[0]]; egl.eglChooseConfig(eglDisplay, new int[] { EGL10.EGL_NONE }, configs, numConfigs[0], numConfigs); int[] v = new int[1]; for (EGLConfig c : configs) { egl.eglGetConfigAttrib(eglDisplay, c, EGL10.EGL_CONFIG_ID, v); if (v[0] == 6) { eglConfig = c; } } eglContext = egl.eglCreateContext(eglDisplay, eglConfig, EGL10.EGL_NO_CONTEXT, null); if (eglContext == null || eglContext == EGL10.EGL_NO_CONTEXT) { throw new RuntimeException("Unable to create EGL context"); } eglSurface = egl.eglCreateWindowSurface(eglDisplay, eglConfig, holder, null); if (eglSurface == null || eglSurface == EGL10.EGL_NO_SURFACE) { throw new RuntimeException("Unable to create EGL surface"); } if (!egl.eglMakeCurrent(eglDisplay, eglSurface, eglSurface, eglContext)) { throw new RuntimeException("Unable to make EGL current"); } gl = (GL10)eglContext.getGL(); }

  • Processing an Integer Buried in a String in XSL

    - by justkt
    I have a stored time value which is of the format H:mm:ss. The hours may be any value from 0 up through several days. This data is sent in an XML tag and processed by XSL to be displayed. The display that I want is of the format: D days, HH:mm:ss (hours/minutes) Where the last tag shows hours if HH is greater than 0, minutes if it is 0. Given the original HH, which may be more than 24, I know I need the floor of HH / 24 to get the days value. Then the original HH % 24 gives me the leftover hours. I have also handled the minutes and hours question using xsl:when and xsl:if. It's getting days and hours from the hours value that has me stumped. EDIT So far, I'm looking at doing the following: Variable declaration <xsl:variable name="time"><xsl:value-of select="time" /><xsl:variable> <xsl:variable name="days"><xsl:value-of select="floor(substring-before(time, ':') / 24)" /></xsl:variable> <xsl:variable name="hours"><xsl:value-of select="substring-before(time, ':') mod 24" /></xsl:variable> <xsl:variable name="minutes"><xsl:value-of select="substring-after(time, ':')" /></xsl:variable> Use <xsl:if test="$days > 0"> <xsl:value-of select="$days" /> days </xsl:if> <xsl:value-of select="$hours" />:<xsl:value-of select="$minutes" /> <xsl:choose> <xsl:when test="$hours > 0"> hour<xsl:if test="$hours > 1">s</xsl:if> </xsl:when> <xsl:otherwise> minute<xsl:if test="$minute != '01:00'">s</xsl:if> </xsl:otherwise> </xsl:choose> And for clarification, a sample time would be <time>26:15:00</time> for 1 day 2:15 hours.

  • Proper network configuration for a KVM guest to be on the same networks at the host

    - by Steve Madsen
    I am running a Debian Linux server on Lenny. Within it, I am running another Lenny instance using KVM. Both servers are externally available, with public IPs, as well as a second interface with private IPs for the LAN. Everything works fine, except the VM sees all network traffic as originating from the host server. I suspect this might have something to do with the iptables-based firewall I'm running on the host. What I'd like to figure out is: how to I properly configure the host's networking such that all of these requirements are met? Both host and VMs have 2 network interfaces (public and private). Both host and VMs can be independently firewalled. Ideally, VM traffic does not have to traverse the host firewall. VMs see real remote IP addresses, not the host's. Currently, the host's network interfaces are configured as bridges. eth0 and eth1 do not have IP addresses assigned to them, but br0 and br1 do. /etc/network/interfaces on the host: # The primary network interface auto br1 iface br1 inet static address 24.123.138.34 netmask 255.255.255.248 network 24.123.138.32 broadcast 24.123.138.39 gateway 24.123.138.33 bridge_ports eth1 bridge_stp off auto br1:0 iface br1:0 inet static address 24.123.138.36 netmask 255.255.255.248 network 24.123.138.32 broadcast 24.123.138.39 # Internal network auto br0 iface br0 inet static address 192.168.1.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 network 192.168.1.0 broadcast 192.168.1.255 bridge_ports eth0 bridge_stp off This is the libvirt/qemu configuration file for the VM: <domain type='kvm'> <name>apps</name> <uuid>636b6620-0949-bc88-3197-37153b88772e</uuid> <memory>393216</memory> <currentMemory>393216</currentMemory> <vcpu>1</vcpu> <os> <type arch='i686' machine='pc'>hvm</type> <boot dev='hd'/> </os> <features> <acpi/> <apic/> <pae/> </features> <clock offset='utc'/> <on_poweroff>destroy</on_poweroff> <on_reboot>restart</on_reboot> <on_crash>restart</on_crash> <devices> <emulator>/usr/bin/kvm</emulator> <disk type='file' device='cdrom'> <target dev='hdc' bus='ide'/> <readonly/> </disk> <disk type='file' device='disk'> <source file='/raid/kvm-images/apps.qcow2'/> <target dev='vda' bus='virtio'/> </disk> <interface type='bridge'> <mac address='54:52:00:27:5e:02'/> <source bridge='br0'/> <model type='virtio'/> </interface> <interface type='bridge'> <mac address='54:52:00:40:cc:7f'/> <source bridge='br1'/> <model type='virtio'/> </interface> <serial type='pty'> <target port='0'/> </serial> <console type='pty'> <target port='0'/> </console> <input type='mouse' bus='ps2'/> <graphics type='vnc' port='-1' autoport='yes' keymap='en-us'/> </devices> </domain> Along with the rest of my firewall rules, the firewalling script includes this command to pass packets destined for a KVM guest: # Allow bridged packets to pass (for KVM guests). iptables -A FORWARD -m physdev --physdev-is-bridged -j ACCEPT (Not applicable to this question, but a side-effect of my bridging configuration appears to be that I can't ever shut down cleanly. The kernel eventually tells me "unregister_netdevice: waiting for br1 to become free" and I have to hard reset the system. Maybe a sign I've done something dumb?)

    Hello, I'm trying to get the GKTank example working with 2 iPhones. Both have bluetooth enabled. I start the app on both devices and tap the screen. • Loop through multi-dimensional array and remove certain keys

    - by Webkungen
    Hi! I've got a nested tree structure which is based on the array below: Array ( [1] = Array ( [id] = 1 [parent] = 0 [name] = Startpage [uri] = 125 [basename] = index.php [child] = ) [23] = Array ( [id] = 23 [parent] = 0 [name] = Events [uri] = 0 [basename] = [child] = Array ( [24] = Array ( [id] = 24 [parent] = 23 [name] = Public news [uri] = 0 [basename] = [child] = Array ( [27] = Array ( [id] = 27 [parent] = 24 [name] = Add [uri] = 100 [basename] = news.public.add.php [child] = ) [28] = Array ( [id] = 28 [parent] = 24 [name] = Overview [uri] = 101 [basename] = news.public.overview.php [child] = ) ) ) [25] = Array ( [id] = 25 [parent] = 23 [name] = Private news [uri] = 0 [basename] = [child] = Array ( [29] = Array ( [id] = 29 [parent] = 25 [name] = Add [uri] = 67 [basename] = news.private.add.php [child] = ) [30] = Array ( [id] = 30 [parent] = 25 [name] = Overview [uri] = 68 [basename] = news.private.overview.php [child] = ) ) ) [26] = Array ( [id] = 26 [parent] = 23 [name] = Calendar [uri] = 0 [basename] = [child] = Array ( [31] = Array ( [id] = 31 [parent] = 26 [name] = Add [uri] = 69 [basename] = news.event.add.php [child] = ) [32] = Array ( [id] = 32 [parent] = 26 [name] = Overview [uri] = 70 [basename] = news.event.overview.php [child] = ) ) ) ) ) ) I'm looking for a function to loop (recursive?) through the array and remove some keys. I my system I can allow users to certain functions/pages and if I deny access to the whole "block" "Events", the array will look like this: Array ( [1] = Array ( [id] = 1 [parent] = 0 [name] = Startpage [uri] = 125 [basename] = index.php [child] = ) [23] = Array ( [id] = 23 [parent] = 0 [name] = Events [uri] = 0 [basename] = [child] = Array ( [24] = Array ( [id] = 24 [parent] = 23 [name] = Public news [uri] = 0 [basename] = [child] = ) [25] = Array ( [id] = 25 [parent] = 23 [name] = Private news [uri] = 0 [basename] = [child] = ) [26] = Array ( [id] = 26 [parent] = 23 [name] = Calendar [uri] = 0 [basename] = [child] = ) ) ) ) As you can see above, the whole "block" "Events" is useless right now, becuase there is no page associated with each option. So I need to find all "keys" where "basename" is null AND where child is not an array or where the array is empty and remove them. I found this function when searching the site: function searchAndDestroy(&$a, $key, $val){ foreach($a as $k = &$v){ if(is_array($v)){ $r = searchAndDestroy($v, $key, $val); if($r){ unset($a[$k]); } }elseif($key == $k && $val == $v){ return true; } } return false; } It can be used to remove a key any where in the array, but only based in one thing, for example remove all keys where "parent" equals "23". But I need to find and remove (unset) all keys where "basename" is null AND where child isn't an array or where the array is empty. Can anyone help me out and possibly tweak the function above? Thank you,

  • MySQL GROUP BY and JOIN

    Guys what's wrong with this SQL query: $sql = "SELECT res.Age, res.Gender, answer.*, $get_sum, SUM(CASE WHEN res.Gender='Male' THEN 1 else 0 END) AS males, SUM(CASE WHEN res.Gender='Female' THEN 1 else 0 END) AS females FROM Respondents AS res INNER JOIN Answers as answer ON answer.RespondentID=res.RespondentID INNER JOIN Questions as question ON answer.Answer=question.id WHERE answer.Question='Q1' GROUP BY res.Age ORDER BY res.Age ASC"; the $get_sum is an array of sql statement derived from another table: $sum[]= "SUM(CASE WHEN answer.Answer=".$db->f("id")." THEN 1 else 0 END) AS item".$db->f("id"); $get_sum = implode(', ', $sum); the query above return these values: Age: 20 item1 0 item2 1 item3 1 item4 1 item5 0 item6 0 Subtotal for Age 20 3 Age: 24 item1 2 item2 2 item3 2 item4 2 item5 1 item6 0 Subtotal for Age 24 9 It should return: Subtotal for Age 20 1 Subtotal for Age 24 2 In my sample data there are 3 respondents 2 are 24 yrs of age and the other one is 20 years old.

  • GWT i18n - Plural Forms doesn't work at all?

    - by PEZ
    I'm using GWT internationalization Messages. The documentation for Plural Forms says this should work: @DefaultMessage("{0} {1,number} hours {2}") @PluralText({"one", "an hour"}) String hours(String prefix, @PluralCount int count, String suffix); Well, it doesn't. Whatever value of count it still delivers DefaultMessage (e.g. "1 hours ago"). Same if I use a .properties file: hours[one]=an hour hours[few]=some hours hours={0} {1,number} hours {2} Is there a bug in the docs or in GWT (I'm using GWT 2.0.3) or in me? If any of the two former, anyone knows of a workaround?

  • CARP: two machines think they're the master, but only on one interface

    - by Conor McDermottroe
    I have two machines, each configured identically as a firewall/load balancer for a busy website. I have set them up with CARP and pfsync on both the internal and external interfaces. The internal interface is behaving as expected (primary listed as MASTER and secondary listed as BACKUP) On both machines, the network interfaces are as follows: em0 - External interface bge0 - Internal interface bge1 - Crossover connection between both machines carp0 - Shared external interface for CARP carp1 - Shared internal interface for CARP I've rewritten the IP addresses and MAC addresses below. The networks are as follows: 10.0.1.0/24 - External network 10.0.2.0/24 - Internal network 10.0.3.0/24 - Crossover network Here's the output from ifconfig on the primary: em0: flags=8943<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500 options=19b<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING,VLAN_HWCSUM,TSO4> ether [SNIP] inet 10.0.1.10 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 10.0.1.255 media: Ethernet 100baseTX <full-duplex> status: active bge0: flags=8943<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500 options=9b<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING,VLAN_HWCSUM> ether [SNIP] inet 10.0.2.10 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 10.0.2.255 media: Ethernet 1000baseT <full-duplex> status: active bge1: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500 options=9b<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING,VLAN_HWCSUM> ether [SNIP] inet 10.0.3.10 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 10.0.3.255 media: Ethernet 1000baseT <full-duplex> status: active lo0: flags=80c9<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,NOARP,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 16384 options=3<RXCSUM,TXCSUM> inet6 fe80::1%lo0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4 inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 pflog0: flags=141<UP,RUNNING,PROMISC> metric 0 mtu 33152 pfsync0: flags=0<> metric 0 mtu 1460 pfsync: syncdev: bge1 syncpeer: 10.0.3.11 maxupd: 128 carp0: flags=49<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING> metric 0 mtu 1500 inet 10.0.1.5 netmask 0xffffff00 carp: MASTER vhid 1 advbase 1 advskew 0 carp1: flags=49<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING> metric 0 mtu 1500 inet 10.0.2.5 netmask 0xffffff00 carp: MASTER vhid 2 advbase 1 advskew 0 And here's the /etc/rc.conf excerpt from the primary: defaultrouter="10.0.1.1" network_interfaces="em0 bge0 bge1 lo0 pfsync0" cloned_interfaces="carp0 carp1" ifconfig_em0="inet 10.0.1.10 netmask 255.255.255.0 media 100BaseTX mediaopt full-duplex" ifconfig_bge0="inet 10.0.2.10 netmask 255.255.255.0 media 1000BaseTX mediaopt full-duplex" ifconfig_bge1="inet 10.0.3.10 netmask 255.255.255.0 media 1000BaseTX mediaopt full-duplex" ifconfig_carp0="vhid 1 pass [SNIP] 10.0.1.5/24" ifconfig_carp1="vhid 2 pass [SNIP] 10.0.2.5/24" pfsync_enable="YES" pfsync_syncdev="bge1" pfsync_syncpeer="10.0.3.11" And here's the output on the secondary: em0: flags=8943<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500 options=19b<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING,VLAN_HWCSUM,TSO4> ether [SNIP] inet 10.0.1.11 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 10.0.1.255 media: Ethernet 100baseTX <full-duplex> status: active bge0: flags=8943<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500 options=9b<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING,VLAN_HWCSUM> ether [SNIP] inet 10.0.2.11 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 10.0.2.255 media: Ethernet 1000baseT <full-duplex> status: active bge1: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500 options=9b<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HWTAGGING,VLAN_HWCSUM> ether [SNIP] inet 10.0.3.11 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 10.0.3.255 media: Ethernet 1000baseT <full-duplex> status: active lo0: flags=80c9<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,NOARP,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 16384 options=3<RXCSUM,TXCSUM> inet6 fe80::1%lo0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4 inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 pflog0: flags=141<UP,RUNNING,PROMISC> metric 0 mtu 33152 pfsync0: flags=0<> metric 0 mtu 1460 pfsync: syncdev: bge1 syncpeer: 10.0.3.10 maxupd: 128 carp0: flags=49<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING> metric 0 mtu 1500 inet 10.0.1.5 netmask 0xffffff00 carp: MASTER vhid 1 advbase 1 advskew 20 carp1: flags=49<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING> metric 0 mtu 1500 inet 10.0.2.5 netmask 0xffffff00 carp: BACKUP vhid 2 advbase 1 advskew 20 And here's the /etc/rc.conf excerpt from the secondary: defaultrouter="10.0.1.1" network_interfaces="em0 bge0 bge1 lo0 pfsync0" cloned_interfaces="carp0 carp1" ifconfig_em0="inet 10.0.1.11 netmask 255.255.255.0 media 100BaseTX mediaopt full-duplex" ifconfig_bge0="inet 10.0.2.11 netmask 255.255.255.0 media 1000BaseTX mediaopt full-duplex" ifconfig_bge1="inet 10.0.3.11 netmask 255.255.255.0 media 1000BaseTX mediaopt full-duplex" ifconfig_carp0="vhid 1 pass [SNIP] advskew 20 10.0.1.5/24" ifconfig_carp1="vhid 2 pass [SNIP] advskew 20 10.0.2.5/24" pfsync_enable="YES" pfsync_syncdev="bge1" pfsync_syncpeer="10.0.3.10" What I don't understand is, the carp status on carp0 is MASTER on both machines when the status on carp1 is as it should be (MASTER on the primary and BACKUP on the secondary). What am I missing? Where should I be looking for clues?

  • SQL Query: How to determine "Seen during N hour" if given two DateTime time stamps?

    - by efess
    Hello all. I'm writing a statistics application based off a SQLite database. There is a table which records when users Login and Logout (SessionStart, SessionEnd DateTimes). What i'm looking for is a query that can show what hours user have been logged in, in sort of a line graph way- so between the hours of 12:00 and 1:00AM there were 60 users logged in (at any point), between the hours of 1:00 and 2:00AM there were 54 users logged in, etc... And I want to be able to run a SUM of this, which is why I can't bring the records into .NET and iterate through them that way. I've come up with a rather primative approach, a subquery for each hour of the day, however this approach has proved to be slow and slow. I need to be able to calculate this for a couple hundred thousand records in a split second.. SELECT case when (strftime('%s',datetime(date(sessionstart), '+0 hours')) > strftime('%s',sessionstart) AND strftime('%s',datetime(date(sessionstart), '+0 hours')) < strftime('%s',sessionend)) OR (strftime('%s',datetime(date(sessionstart), '+1 hours')) > strftime('%s',sessionstart) AND strftime('%s',datetime(date(sessionstart), '+1 hours')) < strftime('%s',sessionend)) OR (strftime('%s',datetime(date(sessionstart), '+0 hours')) < strftime('%s',sessionstart) AND strftime('%s',datetime(date(sessionstart), '+1 hours')) > strftime('%s',sessionend)) then 1 else 0 end as hour_zero, ... hour_one, ... hour_two, ........ hour_twentythree FROM UserSession I'm wondering what better way to determine if two DateTimes have been seen durring a particular hour (best case scenario, how many times it has crossed an hour if it was logged in multiple days, but not necessary)? The only other idea I had is have a "hour" table specific to this, and just tally up the hours the user has been seen at runtime, but I feel like this is more of a hack than the previous SQL. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Is there any practical difference between the following approaches to print all elements in a range? public static void printA(Iterable<?> range) { for (Object o : range) { System.out.println(o); } } public static <T> void printB(Iterable<T> range) { for (T x : range) { System.out.println(x); } } Apparently, printB involves an additional checked cast to Object (see line 16), which seems rather stupid to me -- isn't everything an Object anyway? public static void printA(java.lang.Iterable); Code: 0: aload_0 1: invokeinterface #18, 1; //InterfaceMethod java/lang/Iterable.iterator:()Ljava/util/Iterator; 6: astore_2 7: goto 24 10: aload_2 11: invokeinterface #24, 1; //InterfaceMethod java/util/Iterator.next:()Ljava/lang/Object; 16: astore_1 17: getstatic #30; //Field java/lang/System.out:Ljava/io/PrintStream; 20: aload_1 21: invokevirtual #36; //Method java/io/PrintStream.println:(Ljava/lang/Object;)V 24: aload_2 25: invokeinterface #42, 1; //InterfaceMethod java/util/Iterator.hasNext:()Z 30: ifne 10 33: return public static void printB(java.lang.Iterable); Code: 0: aload_0 1: invokeinterface #18, 1; //InterfaceMethod java/lang/Iterable.iterator:()Ljava/util/Iterator; 6: astore_2 7: goto 27 10: aload_2 11: invokeinterface #24, 1; //InterfaceMethod java/util/Iterator.next:()Ljava/lang/Object; 16: checkcast #3; //class java/lang/Object 19: astore_1 20: getstatic #30; //Field java/lang/System.out:Ljava/io/PrintStream; 23: aload_1 24: invokevirtual #36; //Method java/io/PrintStream.println:(Ljava/lang/Object;)V 27: aload_2 28: invokeinterface #42, 1; //InterfaceMethod java/util/Iterator.hasNext:()Z 33: ifne 10 36: return

  • How to use group by for grouping varchar data.

    - by Shantanu Gupta
    I have a table that contains some data given below pk_map_id preferences ImmediateParent Department_Id -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- 20 14 5 1 21 15 5 1 22 16 6 1 23 9 4 2 24 4 3 2 25 24 20 2 26 25 20 2 27 23 13 2 I want to group my records on behalf of department then immediate parent then preferences each seperated by ',' i.e. department Immediate Parent preferences 1 5,6 14,15,16 2 4,3,20,13 9,4,24,25,23 and this table also Immediate parent preferences 5 14,15 6 16 4 9 3 4 20 24,25 13 13 In actual scenario all these are my ids which are to be replaced by their string fields. I am using sql server 2k5

  • X11 and ARGB visuals: does DefaultDepth() never return 32?

    - by Andy
    Hi, I'm establishing a connection to the X server like this: display = XOpenDisplay(NULL); screen = DefaultScreen(display); depth = DefaultDepth(display, screen); I'm wondering now why "depth" is always set to 24. I would expect that it is only 24 when compositing is turned off, but in fact, it is still 24 even when I turn on compositing. So in order to get a 32-bit ARGB visual I need to call XGetVisualInfo() first with depth set explicitly to 32. Now to my question: Will DefaultDepth() generally never return more than 24 or is it just on my system? (my graphics board is somewhat dated...). I know that it could return 15, 16 or even 8 for a CLUT display but can it return 32? Or do I always have to use XGetVisualInfo() first to get a ARGB 32-bit visual? Thanks, Andy

  • Insert objects into a collection with LINQ based on a property of the existing objects in the collection

    - by DavidS
    Hi, I've got a collection of object which contains data as follows: FromTime Duration 2010-12-28 24.0000 2010-12-29 24.0000 2010-12-30 24.0000 2010-12-31 22.0000 2011-01-02 1.9167 2011-01-03 24.0000 2011-01-04 24.0000 2011-01-05 24.0000 2011-01-06 24.0000 2011-01-07 22.0000 2011-01-09 1.9167 2011-01-10 24.0000 In the "FromTime" column, there are data "gaps" i.e. 2011-01-01 and 2011-01-08 are "missing". So what I'd like to do is to loop through a range of dates (in this instance 2010-12-28 to 2011-01-10) and "fill in" the "missing" data with a duration of 0. As I've just started with LINQ, I feel that it should be "fairly" easy but I can't quite get it right. I'm reading the book "LINQ in Action" but feel that I'm still quite a way off before I can resolve this particular issue. So any help would be much appreciated. David
