  • Rails syntax for comments in templates: is this bug understood?

    Using rails 2.3.2 I have a partial _foo.rhtml that begins with a comment as follows: <% # here is a comment %> <li><%= foo %></li> When I render the partial from a view in the traditional way, e.g. <% some_numbers = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] %> <ul> <%= render :partial => "foo", :collection => some_numbers %> </ul> I found that the <li> and </li> tags are ommitted in the output -- i.e. the resulting HTML is <ul> 1 2 3 4 5 </ul> However, I can solve this problem by fixing _foo.rhtml to eliminate the space between the <% and the # so that the partial now reads: <%# here is a comment %> <li><%= foo %></li> My question: what's going on here? E.g., is <% # comment %> simply incorrect syntax for including comments in a template? Or is the problem more subtle? Thanks!

  • After I appendChild() in ie6, do stylesheets apply to that element?

    I am creating some elements in javascript like so: var parent = document.createElement('div'); parent.setAttribute('id', 'parent'); var child = document.createElement('div'); child.setAttribute('class', 'child'); parent.appendChild(child); otherelement.appendChild(parent); I have a stylesheet which has styles for #parent and .child. However, it appears the styles are being applied to the parent but not the child. Does ie6 only support styles on id's and not classes or am I doing something wrong?

  • MySQL Enterprise Backup 3.8.2 has been released!

    MySQL Enterprise Backup v3.8.2, a maintenance release of online MySQL backup tool, is now available for download from My Oracle Support  (MOS) website as our latest GA release.  It will also be available via the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud in approximately 1-2 weeks. A brief summary of the changes in MySQL Enterprise Backup version 3.8.2 is given below.   A. Functionality Added or Changed:  MySQL Enterprise Backup has a new --on-disk-full command line option. mysqlbackup could hang when the disk became full, rather than detecting the low space condition. mysqlbackup now monitors disk space when running backup commands, and users can now specify the action to take at a disk-full condition with the --on-disk-full option. For more details, refer this page MySQL Enterprise Backup has a new progress report feature, which periodically outputs short progress indicators on its  operations to user-selected destinations (for example, stdout, stderr, a file, or other choices). For more details on progress report options, refer here   B. Bugs Fixed: When --innodb-file-per-table=ON, if a table was renamed and backup-to-image was in progress, apply-log would fail when being run on the backup. (Bug #16903973)   MySQL Server failed to start after a backup was restored if  there had been online DDL transactions on partitioned tables during the time of backup. (Bug #16924499)   apply-log failed if ALTER TABLE ... REORGANIZE PARTITION was applied to partitioned InnoDB tables during backup. (Bug #16721824, Bug #16903951)  apply-incremental-backup might fail with an assertion error if  the InnoDB tables being backed up were created in Barracuda format and with their KEY_BLOCK_SIZE  values  different from the innodb_page_size . This fix ensures that different KEY_BLOCK_SIZE  values are handled properly during incremental backup and apply-incremental-backup operations.  If a table was renamed following a full backup, a subsequent incremental backup could copy the .frm file with the new name, but not the associated .ibd file with the new name. After a  restore, the InnoDB data dictionary could be in an  inconsistent state. This issue primarily occurred if the table  was not changed between the full backup and the subsequent  incremental backup. Bug #16262690)  After a full backup, if a table was renamed and modified,  apply-incremental-backup would crash when run on the backup directory. (Bug #16262609) The value of the binary log position in backup_variables.txt  could be different from the output displayed during the   backup-and-apply-log operation. (This issue did not occur if  the backup and apply-log steps were done separately.) (Bug  #16195529) When using the --only-innodb-with-frm option, MySQL Enterprise Backup tried to create temporary files at unintended locations in the file system, which might cause a failure when, for example, the user had no write privilege for those locations.   This fix makes sure the paths for the temporary files are  correct. (Bug #14787324)  A backup process might hang when it ran into an LSN mismatch between a data file  and the redo log. This fix makes sure the process does not hang and it displays an error message showing the  name of the problematic data file (Bug #14791645) Please post your questions / comments about Backup in forums. I dont know how many child <ul> might occur inside one another so inline css will not to the job Is this possible?

And I want to filter out all stop words (i.e. "some" and "of") but I don't want to change letter case of other words which should be retained. If letter case was unimportant I would do this: str.toLowerCase().replaceAll ("a|the|of|some|any", ""); Is there an "ignore case" solution with regular expressions in java?

  • How do would you use jQuery's .each() to apply the same script to each element with the same class?

    I have a with multiple cart items listed. I have a "x-men logo" looking remove button that I want to fade-in next to the item when the customer hovers over a cart item. I had no issue getting this to work when there is only one item in the list. However, when there are multiple items in the cart, the jQuery operates funky. It still does the fade in, but only when I hover over the last item in the cart, and of course all of the "remove X" images become visible. Argh... So i searched around and think the .each() is my savior. I have been trying to get it to work, with no luck. My script just breaks when I attempt to implement it. Anyone have any pointers on this *.each() thing and how to implement it into my script?* I have tried putting a cartItem.each(function(){ around the mouseEnter/mouseLeave events (and used some $(this) selectors to make it "make sense") and that didn't do anything. Tried some other things as well with no luck...   • method for creating PHP templates (ie html with variables)?

    I'm designing my html emails, these are to be a block of html containing variables that i can store in a $template variable. My problem comes with the storing in the variable part. putting all my html into php makes it a pain in the bum to work with. for example, the below code is fine for a simple email but once i start getting nested tables etc its going to get really confusing... $template.= 'Welcome ' . $username .   • Is it a good idea to apply some basic macros to simplify code in a large project?

    I've been working on a foundational c++ library for some time now, and there are a variety of ideas I've had that could really simplify the code writing and managing process. One of these is the concept of introducing some macros to help simplify statements that appear very often, but are a bit more complicated than should be necessary. For example, I've come up with this basic macro to simplify the most common type of for loop: #define loop(v,n) for(unsigned long v=0; v<n; ++v) This would enable you to replace those clunky for loops you see so much of: for (int i = 0, i < max_things; i++) With something much easier to write, and even slightly more efficient: loop (i, max_things) Is it a good idea to use conventions like this? Are there any problems you might run into with different types of compilers? Would it just be too confusing for someone unfamiliar with the macro(s)?

I go through a file, and check which string each line has, depending on the string value i execute a different function for it (or functions). This is how i do it now: if(str == "something"){ // do stuff }else if(str == "something else"){ // do stuff }else if(str == "something more"){ // do stuff }else if(str == "something again"){ // do stuff }else if(str == "something different"){ // do stuff }else if(str == "something really different"){ // do stuff } I am afraid this will become "slow" after i have to repeat those else if lines a lot... I tried to use switch() statement, but obviously it doesnt work here, is there something similar to switch() to use here?

What I would like to do is this: If an li has a class="current" I would like that structure to be open up until the point that current is hit. It would still allow the ul below it to be displayed on a hover, as well as any other ul's, but at no point would the parents of class="current" be hidden. Suggestions? This problem has been driving me crazy. Thanks!

  • dotNet Templated, Repeating, Databound ServerControl: Counting the templates OnDataBind?

    I have a server control that wraps an underlying class which manages a number of indexes to track where it is in a dataset (ie: RenderedRecordCount, ErroredRecordCount, NewRecordCount, etc.). I've got the server control rendering great, but OnDataBinding I'm having an issue as to seems to happen after CreateChildControls and before Render (both of which properly manage the iteration of the underlying indexes). While I'm somewhat familiar with the ASP.NET page lifecycle, this one seems to be beyond me at the moment. So... how do I hook into the iterative process OnDataBinding uses so I can manage the underlying indexes? Will I have to iterate over the ITemplates myself, managing the indexes as I go or is there an easier solution? Also... I implemented the iteration of the underlying indexes during CreateChildControls originally in the belief that was the proper place to hook in for events like OnDataBinding (thining it was done as the controls were being .Add'd). Now it seems that this may actually be unnecessary. So I guess the secondary question is: What happens during CreateChildControls? Are the unadulterated (read: with <%-tags in place) controls added to the .Controls collection without any other processing?

As you can see, I'm using the exact same set of trigger enter/exit actions, simply applied on two different properties. Is there something equivalent to a <Trigger Property="prop1" OR Property="prop2" ???
